Issued by MRV Banks, the Revvi Card is an unsecured credit card that accepts individuals with credit scores as low as 550. The card is designed to help you build or rebuild your credit while also offering you the chance to earn 1% cash back rewards every time you pay off your credit card balance.
With Revvi, you get a $300 introductory credit limit, with an option of increasing your limit each subsequent year for a 20% fee on the limit increase amount. Revvi allows you to purchase additional cards for an extra annual fee or customize a “premium" plastic card with unique designs for a small one-time fee. To help you build your credit, your payment and account history are reported monthly to the three major credit bureaus, Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.
The Revvi Card is designed for individuals with low credit or no credit who want an unsecured credit card and the chance to earn cash back on purchases. That said, Revvi’s high fees and regular APR make it unsuitable for many borrowers.
The Revvi Card charges some of the highest fees of any “starter” credit card I’ve ever seen. To begin with, it charges a one-time program fee of $89 when you first open the card. Although you can pay this fee in three installments, you can’t use the card until the fee is fully paid off.
In addition to the one-time program fee, Revvi charges an annual fee and monthly service fee. The annual fee is $75 for the first year and $48 for each subsequent year, while the monthly service fee is none for the first year and then $8.25 per month. Moreover, Revvi charges $29 annually for each additional card that you’d like on your account.
It also allows you to order a customized “premium” plastic card for a $10 fee. Like many credit card providers, Revvi charges a late payment and returned payment fee. However, its $41 charge is higher than the late or returned payment fee for most other providers.
In your first year, your credit limit is capped at $300. If you want to increase your limit after the first year, you’ll have to pay a 20% fee on the amount of the increase. For example, if you increase your limit by $100, you’d have to pay a $20 fee.
Along with high fees, Revvi charges a regular APR of 35.99% (variable) .
Annual Fee | $75 for the first year, then $48 |
One-time Program Fee | $89 (payable in 3 installments) |
Monthly Service Fee | $8.25/month (waived in year 1) |
Premium Plastic Card Fee | $10 |

Late/Returned Payment Fee | $41 |

With the Revvi Card, you earn 1% cashback rewards, meaning that each point you earn is worth $0.01. You can redeem your earned points online, through Revvi’s mobile app, or over the phone with Revvi’s customer service team.
Unlike most cards, you earn your points when you make a payment on your credit card balance, not when you make a purchase with your card. However, you can’t redeem any of your points until you’ve had your card for at least six months. Moreover, you can only redeem your earned rewards in 500-point ($5) increments.
Before you can get your Revvi Card, you’ll need to have an open checking account with a bank or credit union. Without a checking account, you cannot apply for a Revvi Card.
Once you’re ready to apply for your Revvi Card, simply follow the steps outlined here:
If you need assistance, you can contact Revvi’s customer service team by phone, email, or through the Revvi mobile app. Support is available from 9am-7pm PT, Monday-Saturday, and from 12am-6pm PT on Sunday. It’s easy to reach the customer service team either through the mobile app or over the phone. Alternatively, you can check out the FAQs on Revvi’s website to get answers to common questions about its terms and how to manage your account.
According to its website, Revvi uses SSL security encryption to protect your personal and financial information from hackers and fraudsters. However, it doesn’t provide information as to what level of encryption it uses to protect your data. Additionally, Revvi doesn’t have a designated fraud line or biometric security features on its mobile app.
When will I know if I am approved?
For most people, you should receive notification of your approval within a few minutes. On some occasions, Revvi may require additional information before it can approve your application.
Yes, you can add an authorized user to your card during the application process or after you open your account. To add an authorized user, you can contact Revvi’s customer service team through the Revvi mobile app or by phone.
Once your application is approved, you should receive your Revvi Card within 3-7 business days. That said, mailing times can vary, so you should allow up to 14 days to receive your card.
Revvi offers you a chance to build your credit score over time even if you have no or low credit. However, the Revvi Card's high fees and regular APR make it unsuitable for many individuals looking to build or rebuild their credit score. Additionally, the card’s relatively low introductory credit limit of $300 and 20% credit limit increase fee make it difficult for you to scale up your purchasing power over time. Revvi offers a fast credit decision and monthly credit reporting to the three major credit bureaus.
