Attached someone else’s bad debt to our names!
My husband and I had a Business Amex card about 4 years ago. Paid it off and closed it. We just tried to re-mortgage one of our properties and found out Amex had put $13000.00 of bad debt, from someone else’s card, on my husband’s credit. We have now spent 2 weeks and almost $400.00 to get this removed… it still isn’t done. Amex has told us it is up to us and will not fix their own mistake. DO NOT get an Amex if you can help it. Apparently this “mistake” happens a lot with them. It also happened to our mortgage broker.

Sono titolare dal 1997, dopo alcuni anni sono passato alla Oro e da un anno alla Platino. Risponde perfettamente alle mie esigenze, è accettata negli esercizi in cui compro abitualmente. In questo primo anno ho utilizzato tutti i "bonus" (viaggi 150 euro, ristoranti Italia/Estero 150+150), sconti per acquisti su offerte on-line 110 euro, utilizzo punti per 196 euro, 8 accessi alle Lounges aeroportuali (stimo il costo in 240 euro). Ho poi sperimentato la copertura "imprevisti viaggio": per un rientro anticipato hanno rimborsato la notte in hotel non fruita e nuovi biglietti Frecciarossa per 338 euro. L'iscrizione ai vari partner (noleggi, catene alberghiere) comporta molti vantaggi. Grazie all'iniziativa "presenta un amico" ho un saldo punti MR che posso convertire, per esempio, in miglia Skywards di Emirates per due biglietti A/R per New York. Il servizio clienti è sempre stato eccellente: ricordo anni fa quando fu clonata la carta, gli addebiti furono stornati direttamente in estratto conto. Mi dispiace per coloro che non si sono trovati bene, per quella che è la mia esperienza non posso che esprimere un giudizio positivo.

No-Go
Ich bin seit 2002 Kunde, habe eine Platinum Card. Die Preise wurden erhöht, zusätzliche Benefits wie einen Restaurantgutschein gibt es dafür. In der Theorie klingt das alles gut, doch die Praxis ist leider genau 1 von 5 Sternen. Wie hier einige Bewertungen bereits beschreiben, haben auch wir sehr schlechte Erfahrung gemacht mit einer Hotelbuchung, die wir online über das Travelportal von Amex gebucht hatten. Fehler passieren, doch wie damit umgegangen wird, ist ein No-Go. Versprechen und Zusagen werden einfach nicht eingehalten.

El 24 de noviembre de 2023 compré a través de SmartFares un pasaje de Madrid a Buenos Aires por valor de 455,07 euros que pagué con mi tarjeta American Express. Inmediatamente después, y sin haber dado ninguna autorización al respecto, recibí, tanto de SmartFares como de American Express, la notificación de un cargo por valor de 516,90 dólares USA que yo no había ordenado. Me puse en contacto inmediatamente con American Express, quienes me pidieron la documentación sobre el caso. Tras haberla presentado, siguiendo rigurosamente las instrucciones dadas, me indicaron que no la habían recibido y la volví a presentar. Cinco días después, al llamar a American Express y reclamar por el cargo que no había ordenado, me indicaron que sí que disponían de la documentación, pero que no podías hacer nada ya que ellos son meros gestores de los pagos presentados por las empresas y no tienen porqué poner en duda que el cargo presentado por la compañía corresponde con el ordenado por el cliente.

Esperienza top al momento. Cliente da qualche mese, non ho riscontrato le problematiche segnalate da altri utenti. E' vero che la carta non è accettata ovunque al 100% come altri circuiti, ma riesco ad usarla quasi sempre nei posti che frequento. Il servizio clienti, disponibile 24/7, ha sempre soddisfatto le mie aspettative. Altra cosa positiva che ho riscontrato rispetto altre carte con le quali bisogna attendere giorni, l'app riporta in near real time le transazioni autorizzate (anche se non ancora contabilizzate). Wow so disappointed !!!!
Wow so disappointed, at the third would customer service !! They promote as the best and most professional, but the reality is customer service equal to third world standards. They don't respond for days to problem and then they have no idea what to do and then they advise the department that can help, doesn't work in our countries daytime. It is very very telling that when i googled to add a review that there is no google review, they must pay google to remove it so people cant see all the bad reviews. Came to trustpilot and all the crap service i have experienced makes sense, there's so so so many other people also experiencing non existent and rude service. Stick with a more reputable credit card, save your precious time from being wasted and don't get an American Express card. Visa never gave crap service and give me airpoints too.

Green American Express Card
Had just been approved for the Green Travel Card. I had added my wife on as an authorized user, but was never shown he was on the account with a card to use as an AU. Called Amex was told now you have your account set up, you can add him on. So, I did just that and still did not show. Simply, I then went to the chat; do not ever use their chat, because I was transferred to (7) different agents that could not give me a solution to my AU issue. So frustrated, I told the agent to cancel the account. NEVER APPLY FOR AMEX. EXTREMELY INCOMPETENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS.

Beware the credit limit reduction of doom
Amex are great, until they slash your credit limit to virtually nothing for no justifiable reason. Mine was because I had four hard searches on my credit account in the last six months. These were two remortgages (I have 7 buy to lets), one mobile phone contract (Upgrade on existing account) and one utility provider. The fact that my Amex account was paid on time and in full every month apparently counts for nothing. Their loss.

REALLY disappointed
REALLY disappointed. Been a member for 6 years, never failed to pay on time. Then get random email over weekend telling me "credit limit" dropped by half without reason or explanation. Really helpful when out with clients and can't use business platinum card at all. Yes you know, that's the card that has no limit/spend what you like but no wait, you have a limit. Check what that is, no limit. Round in circles just like when you try to log in to get onto their online chat to discuss because you cannot reach them on the phone. Utterly useless. Call themselves business partners!? Will clear off and cancel altogether. Won't bother with them again.

Do not use AMEX!
Payment for the card gets taken from my account on 28th November, tried to use my card on 4 December and wasn’t working because they hadn’t processed my payment, tried to live chat with them but they couldn’t help me/didn’t want to. Called them, really bad attitude and offered to cancel my card rather than give me a solution! Ridiculous. Took my card on holiday for easier payments but didn’t even work the whole time! Really bad

Questo anno (2023) a Novembre del 2023 mi arriva un adebbito di 702 euro per l'abbonamento annuale della carta, chiamo e mi stornano solo 642,46 euro per che "avevo goduto un mese". Ich bin seit geraumer Zeit Kunde bei American Express und habe mich kürzlich entschieden, meinen Erfahrungen in einer Rezension Ausdruck zu verleihen, nachdem ich mit mehreren signifikanten Problemen im Kundenservice konfrontiert wurde. Erstens, die versprochenen Bonuspunkte für das Werben neuer Kunden wurden nicht gutgeschrieben. Trotz klarer Beweise, einschließlich Referenznummern und Bestätigungen, die ich vorgelegt habe, blieben meine Bemühungen, diese Angelegenheit zu klären, fruchtlos. Der Kundenservice hat wiederholt meine Anfragen ignoriert oder verzögert, was zu einer unbefriedigenden und frustrierenden Erfahrung führte. Zweitens, die Kommunikation mit dem Kundenservice war enttäuschend. Die Antworten kamen spät und waren oft nicht hilfreich. In einem Fall wurde mir sogar unterstellt, falsche Angaben gemacht zu haben, was ich als unprofessionell und beleidigend empfinde. Als Platinum-Kunde, der eine erhebliche Jahresgebühr bezahlt, erwarte ich einen Service, der diesem Status entspricht. Leider hat American Express in diesem Aspekt stark enttäuscht. Ca démarre très mal....
Après avoir souscrit, je reçois ma carte et fais le nécessaire pour l'activer. Seulement, cela ne fonctionne pas lors des paiements. Contact chat 24h/24 Très bien. Je prends contact. C'est assez long et laborieux. Au bout de 25 minutes d'attentes, l'opérateur écrit qu'il voit bien les refus de paiement, mais ne sait pas pourquoi. Il faut appeler un numéro en Métropole, joignable uniquement en heure de Métropole alors que j'ai 10h de décalage horaires. Cela commence très très mal.

Insulted by American express American express personally insulted me by cutting my credit card limit randomly, I'm not quite sure why as financially I'm doing better than ever and have paid my full balance every month for the 4 years I've been with them. Upon speaking to them it was because I used the card slightly more last month and paid it off. Very strange to see a credit card company cut a limit due to a card being used and paid off (which was still nowhere near the limit) but it has undermined by confidence with American express and I wouldn't recommend using them. Use a Mastercard or Visa Credit card instead.

Opening account experience
Completed an application for the cashback credit card, easy application process however I had typed my name incorrectly on the application. I was surprised when my application was accepted and I received a credit card not in my real name with a £12k limit within a couple of days. I wonder what credit checks were actually done given the name didn't match to any of the details which I provided on the application. The name correction was changed quickly via the online chat and I now have a card issued with the correct name. This has left me wondering whether or not to retain the card given how this could potentially be used fraudulently.

Man geht, nach einem freundlichen Gespräch, davon aus dass Alles Besprochene auch eingehalten oder erledigt wird. Leider Fehlanzeige!!! A l'image de nombreux autres utilisateurs, client depuis 12 ans, service coupé cet été après une simple demande d'information pour le fichier client (jamais rencontré sur mes autres divers banques). Refus de rembourser l'inutilisation de la carte jusque fin de couverture de la cotisation annuelle. Obligation d'envoi d'un courrier AR pour résiliation, et donc paiement de la nouvelle cotisation annuelle dans l'intervalle. Finalement réponse du courrier suite à la demande de résiliation, je n'aurai rien d'autre qu'un prorata sur la dernière cotisation et un remerciement de leur part "de la confiance que vous nous avez accordé pendant plus de 12 années". AMEX ce n'est plus ce que c'était...

Horrible Design
I have the American Express Everyday Preferred card. It is an excellent card with excellent customer service. Although, It is beyond any reason and common sense why they would make the card translucent making it virtually impossible to read the numbers. I know several people who have already canceled the card because of its poor design. I sincerely hope it will change soon.

I have been a platinum member for 12 years and thought that I was completely insured on travel all the time. I make one claim and it turns out that you must book the whole holiday with Amex or you are not covered. My partner had organised the flights separately and used her own payment method (not amex). We assumed we had comprehensive travel insurance. She has her bag stolen with contents valued at approx £600 (just wanted to claim on the iPad she lost). We spend half a day wasted queuing to get a police incident report and then find out it was a waste of time. Loyalty clearly doesn't exist. Will be cancelling this year and save my £600 plus fee and give it my partner.

I put in a dispute with them regarding a hotel charging me 2138.00 as a no show.. I tried to provide the evidence that I had cancelled 16 days prior to the reservation.. however, the hotel uses booking.com another gouging secondary company. When I asked to put in another dispute and would add my evidence of cancellation they told me to take it up with the hotel, they did their job. I have been with AMEX for 20 years, never missed a payment, always paid completely.. I am dropping them and advise you they are not supporting their customers.. and I am still not paying that outrageous NO show charge..

American Express, was sonst? Eine Kreditkarte vom Herausgeber, ohne irgendeine zwischengeschaltete Bank. Das Amex deshalb bei der Kartenausgabe etwas genauer hinschaut, ist mir sehr recht. So ist sichergestellt, dass niemand eine Kreditkarte erhält, der besser keine hätte. Denn mit den Gebühren möchte ich die Leistungen der Karte bezahlen, nicht die durch andere Kunden verursachten Zahlungsausfälle finanzieren. Übrigens Gebühren: Wer die mit den Rewards nicht mindestens wieder rein holt, macht irgendwas falsch oder braucht eh keine KK. Die Hotline und sonstigen Kontaktwege kann ich nicht bewerten. In all den Jahren gab es bisher keinen Grund, diese zu nutzen. Eine Sache hätte der Karte aber fast eine negative Bewertung eingebracht: was bitte soll das neue Design bei der grünen Karten, die wir als Zusatzkarten für die Familienmitgliedern nutzen? Das die Hochprägung irgendwann wegfallen würde, war ja klar. Aber die blassen Farben? AMEX, was habt ihr Euch denn dabei gedacht? :-)

Been a customer for 7 years missed one payment and they charged me over £60 plus late payment fee. This is why amex has limited presence in the uk - this is the opposite of delivering “the best customer experience “. Will be closing the account after this, not worth it.

Awful company
Awful company. Gave me £25k over 2 credit cards and removed them 7 months later. I was informed over an email. No warning, no discussion, and ruined my credit since I'm now over 25% of my total credit and is the only company out of my 5 credit cards that put a missed payment on my credit file for not reminding me to set up a direct debit. I'll take some of the blame as I should have known better but I assumed as I had set it up in the app that it would work for my second Amex card and then they stung me again. 2 missed payments in 2 months and I've never had that problem with any other card. I'll be closing these accounts and using competitors from now on. It always seems when I need to make a big purchase, the business doesn't accept Amex anyway so I can't even get the points. Pointless, expensive and downright questionable lending tactics. No care about what removing a £25k credit facility does to the customers credit score.

Expérience catastrophique avec Amex aujourd'hui. Client depuis 32 ans ... et un -juste- mail pour dire que ils résilient ma carte car il manque un justificatif de domicile à mon dossier. Deux appels plus tard ils m'indiquent que "en gros c'est de ma faute" car il y a eu de nombreuses relances... alors que 0 mails avant celui là, aucune notif sur l'app ni sur le site, pas de SMS, pas de coup de fil. Impossible selon eux de revenir en arrière, impossible de les contacter par chat, impossible par téléphone, impossible sur le site, j'ai meme essayé les réseaux sociaux. Pour une carte "premium" c'est vraiment incroyable. Heureusement que je n'en a pas besoin à court terme. Pourtant c'était bien Amex pour les voyageurs... ils m'ont bien dépanné à l'étranger dans des situations complexes mais c'était il y a longtemps. Là c'est devenu n'importe quoi, meme le service client de Revolut est mieux!

Please think twice before being loyal to this company.
I have been a customer of American Express since 2006. They recently sent me a mail offer to open a small business charge card account with them and I applied. They approved the small business card but then once the personal card credit department discovered I am now working for myself, they decided to cancel my personal card with little notice. I accepted this without any complaint and proceeded to call the business card team to cancel the newly approved card as I'd paid it off in full / showing zero balance. The business card team declined to close my business card account, stating I needed to pay off my personal card in full first. I find this unacceptably poor business practice: Be a customer for 17 years, receive an Amex "backs small businesses" offer, accept the offer, have a long-standing relationship cancelled and then have to deal with them refusing to close the newly opened business account.

Let down and disappointed
After going round and round in circles With booking.com for a refund on a room where we were put in a room with no window. The hotel said they often had this problem and agreed to a refund. But it would need to go through booking.com I thought seeing as if paid on my card American Express could help me get my money back… HAHA! You’re given no space to explain. And they don’t even listen. This is the first time I’ve put in a dispute and probably won’t bother again. I feel really let down. They say they value your membership, but clearly they don’t. Ironically Ive been on the other side of their disputes and my husband was forced to refund a customer who had already been refunded! How is that fair?!?! . seems like they go for small businesses as it’s easier. Really disappointed

NIE MEHR AMEX! Man steht in NYC und die Karte wird einfach mal gesperrt! Der lang ersehnte Urlaub im Eimer. 25 Kilometer musst eich zurück ins Hotel laufen, weil die Karte gesperrt war. Kundenservice antwort...tja wir können nichts für Sie tun...die Kollegen sind im Feierabend! Keine Notrufnummer nichts! Auch zuhause in Deutschland musste ich mir am Telefon Dinge vom KUNDENSERVICE anhören...Aussagen wie zum Beispiel: Stellen Sie sich mal nicht so an, ich war beim Bund und bin 35 Kilometer gelaufen. 2. Ich kann ein Rückruf einrichten aber ob sich jemand meldet ist eine andere Frage. Drohungen, dass ich keinen Kundenservice mehr erhalten würde usw. Die Liste ist endlos. NIE MEHR!!! Auf Emails keine Reaktion. Nun kündige ich bei Amex! AUF NIE MEHR WIEDERSEHEN!

J'ai appelé il y a deux mois pour demander la résiliation de ma carte American express, la conseillère m'a informé que la carte serait résilié après un préavis de 30 jours, deux mois mois plus tard j'observe toujours des prélèvements sur mon compte de cotisations alors que la carte est censée être résiliée, le service client me dit à ce jour n'avoir aucune trace de ma demande de résiliation, pourtant j'ai toutes les preuves de mon côté, service déplorable, frais exorbitants, fuyez American express !!

Der Abrechnungsbetrag wurde bei mir und vielen anderen Kunden wohl zwei mal abgebucht. Nach einem Anruf bei der grottenschlechten Hotline mit extrem nerviger Computerstimme, sollte ich die Lastschrift zurückbuchen. Was ist passiert? Amex sperrt mir daraufhin die Karte, obwohl ich exakt so vorgegangen bin wie empfohlen. Leider ist die Hotline am Wochenende nicht besetzt, wodurch ich am Freitagabend meine VISA zücken muss. Hier läuft einfach ganz viel falsch, von Antragstellung bis zum Kundensupport einfach nur unseriös und nicht zu empfehlen!

Broken Fraud Detection Systems
I have had an American Express card since 1996 and was generally happy with them until now. But then things went south with both accounts. For what transpired with the Hilton Honors credit card, please see a separate review I have published. This review is about the Delta-AmEx credit card, which I obtained less than a year ago. Everything was good until Oct 12 when I noticed multiple charges from Airalo Singapore for $20, $20, $4.90, and $9.90. $4.90 was rejected by AmEx and $9.90 was never completed so it was dismissed as an abandoned transaction. All charges apparently originated from Singapore by manual entry - but their system never flagged them as requiring authorization the moment they originated (viz: $20 and $20 charges). I disputed both $20 charges and in less than 24 hours, AmEx justified them as valid charges and reinstated them (no docs were ever provided based on which they made these determinations). After the Hilton Honors and this experience, this was the last stroke. I have closed all my AmEx cards and would never use them again. Adios American Express! May you learn to understand how fraud is done, how to fight fraud, how not to penalize card holders for your failings, and how to retain customers. But perhaps I am hoping too much.

Client depuis 20 ans, et possédant une CB Platinum, je pensait être bien assuré. Hélas ce n’est pas la cas, franchise médicale de 75€ après un accident en Indonésie. Et 15 appels téléphoniques pour me faire rapatrier, et accord 6h avant départ du vol sanitaire (tellement pratique). Bref, un cauchemar, Amex n’est plus ce que c’était. Je vais les quitter prochainement, et je ne saurai que vous conseiller des CB bien moins chères et sans franchises avec de vraies garanties (garanties Amex avec AXA) . Le seul élément haut de gamme chez Amex est le prix. A fuir.

Katastropher Antragsprozess und Datenkrake!
Bislang konnte ich die Karte nicht benutzen, da schon der Antragsprozess im Vergleich zu anderen Karten eine Katastrophe ist. Zuerst funktioniert die Personen-Validierung nicht, dann wird die Karte sofort nach Erhalt gesperrt. Zum Entsperren verlangt AMEX vollständige, ungeschwärzte Kontoauszüge - weshalb dies notwendig ist, beantwortet einem keiner. Es ist ausdrücklich nicht ausreichend nur einen regelmäßigen Gehaltseingang nachzuweisen.

Don’t ever use American Express Banking services or if you already do, take your money out and run. Had to close my 1 year CD 2 months early to pay for surgery and cancer treatment. Charged over $3k in penalties. The form stated to please allow up to 13 days to process. The form was received October 22nd. After numerous emails to various CEO’s, numerous calls to customer service, they didn’t release my money until November 16th after being threatened with a lawsuit. All the CEO’s are just a bunch of crooks wearing black coats.

Det skal sies at den Engelsktalende delen av kundesenteret som ofte er stasjonert i England, har bedre stil og tone, samt bedre oppfølgning og løsningsfokus.. Kundesenteret i Norge er under pari, uansett hva man måtte etterspør så blir man kastet rundt i systemet ala den syvende far i huset der ingen kan svare på noe som helst. Videre lover dem å følge opp, noe dem gjør i liten eller ingen grad. Synes også stilen og tonen er under det man bør kunne forvente fra et premium kredittkort

L'addebito su conto non andato a buon fine causa problema, non disponibilita' su conto, quel giorno. Non ritentano piu' l'addebito su conto, i giorni successivi, ma addebitano allegramente 12 euro di penale sull'estratto conto. E riducono il plafond di spesa dell'80% ( lasciandomi il 20% del plafond originario ). Mi scrivono 20 gg dopo, dicendomi che se l'estratto conto non passa, il giorno dell'addebito seguente, mi segnalano come cattivo pagatore. Stiamo parlando di 180 euro. Contro estratti conto di 2000 euro precedenti, sempr andati a buon fine. Per pagamenti in valuta, addebitano doppia commissione, per doppia conversione, a valuta di pagamento verso USD, e da USD all' EUR. Pochi esercizi li accettano. io li sconsiglio totalmente. Esseno poi carta che non si appoggia alla banca, adebitano pure il bollo 2 euro al mese su estratto conto. Fatevi una carta i credito con la vostra banca, non pagate imposta di bollo, e le commissioni per cambio valuta sono piu' basse, sicuramente.

Karte beantragt, genehmigt und erhalten. Innerhalb 4 Woche ca 900€ mit der Karte bezahlt und nun wurde Sie gesperrt ohne Angaben von Gründen. Auch der Kundenservice und jegliche Abteilungen konnte mir keinen Grund nennen. Ich habe ausschließlich die Antwort bekommen: AMEX behaltet sich das recht vor ohne Angaben von Gründen die Karte zu sperren / kündigen. Da ich nächstes Jahr in die USA ziehe bin ich eigentlich auf die Karte angewiesen (AMEX International transfer programm). Ich muss jetzt leider wieder Zeit/Geld investieren um mir eine andere Lösung zu suchen.

This is the most dishonest company I have ever done business with!!! I have been an excellent customer for almost 20 YRS so when I had to make a large purchase of $23K, I called AMEX and was ASSURED REPEATEDLY that my interest rate would be zero % for 14 mths. Turns out they are charging me 29% and will not change it!!!!! I asked to be sent or hear the transcript of my original conversation where the rep stated I would get zero percent. I was informed by AMEX that I would need to get a lawyer and a SUBPOENA to get this!!! hmmm... if they have nothing to hide... why cant I just hear the call or get the transcript?? Sounds like CYA. They refuse to give me the zero percent I was promised and now I am stuck paying $500 a month INTEREST and at this rate will pay the card off in 23 YEARS!! AMEX is a disgrace and embarassment to honest legitimate credit card companies. They are liars and thieves. They are scamming their customers and then covering it up by not allowing you access to conversations.

Titolare dal 1981, a seguito di una truffa perpetrata ai miei danni ho dovuto pagare gli ultimi estratti conto di carta platino e revolving tramite bonifico, da conti di miei familiari per non alimentare i conti correnti oggetto di truffa. Inopinatamente venerdì 10 novembre, mi trovo senza disponibilità residua, avendo ridotto il mio fido di quasi l'intero importo residuo. Nessun avvertimento al sottoscritto via mail messaggi o tel. Mi dispiace perché in 42 anni non c'è mai stato un problema e con i soldi con me guadagnati la compagnia e' andata avanti ed è cresciuta. Ma questa non intendo. Fargliela passare, mi rivolgero' ai migliori studi legali e denuncerò tutto al garante. VERGOGNOSO !!!

Absolute Frechheit
Anfang Oktober erhielt ich meine American Express Platinum Karte, und heute, am 13.11., möchte ich meine Erfahrungen teilen. Fast vier Wochen lang war die Karte gesperrt, weil ich aufgefordert wurde, Kontoauszüge einzureichen – eine Information, die mir jedoch nicht mitgeteilt wurde. Ich erfuhr davon erst durch einen selbst initiierten Anruf. Die Bearbeitung meiner Unterlagen dauerte über drei Wochen, obwohl mir bei mehreren Anrufen zugesichert wurde, dass es nur noch ein bis zwei Tage dauern würde. Nach der Entsperrung der Karte tätigte ich einige Umsätze, wodurch mein Saldo knapp über 1.000 Euro stieg. Als ich versuchte, Flüge für 2.300 Euro zu buchen, wurde dies abgelehnt, da mein Kreditrahmen zu gering ist. Dies erscheint mir angesichts meines nachgewiesenen Jahresgehalts von 130.000 Euro brutto absurd. Bei einem Beschwerdegespräch über die Voraussetzungen, innerhalb der ersten sechs Monate 10.000 Euro umzusetzen, erhielt ich die freche Antwort: "Sie haben ja noch fünf Monate." Zudem wird eine 24-Stunden-Kundenservice-Nummer beworben, bei der man nach Eingabe seiner Kartennummer lediglich eine automatische Ansage erhält, dass das Büro nur von Montag bis Freitag zwischen 9 und 17 Uhr besetzt ist. Mein Fazit: Ich kann die American Express Platinum Karte definitiv nicht empfehlen, besonders für Personen, die noch keine Karte haben. Eine absolute Frechheit.

Peinlich und absolut inakzeptabel
Nach rund einer Woche wurden paar legitime Hoteltransaktionen über die Amex zugelassenen Apps getätigt und prompt bei knapp 700 Euro Ausgaben wird mit einer automatisierten Mail die Info angegeben, dass die Karte gesperrt wird ohne Angabe von Gründen. Nach einem Anruf bei der grottigen und katastrophalen Amex Hotline wurde ich nicht schlauer, da niemand mir weitere Auskunft geben konnte. Die eigentliche Kundenservice Hotline ist erst ab Montag erreichbar und wenn die Karte Freitag Mitternacht gesperrt wird, steht man ein komplettes Wochenende ohne aktive Karte da. Absolut grotesk peinlich und in keinster Weise kann ich Amex empfehlen. So einen miserablen Start hatte ich bei keiner einzigen Bank oder Kreditkartenfirma. (Postbank mal außen vor) Niemand von Amex kam proaktiv auf mich zu, niemand hat sich bemüht, das Problem zu lösen und die Ensperrhotline/Wasauchimmer ist nicht verfügbar am Wochenende. Lächerlich! Karte wird gekündigt, sobald die "Abrechnung" von Amex fließt.

Amex Card - definitiv nicht zu empfehlen!
Belgien. Im Gegensatz zu Deutschland wird in Belgien an Kassen per Schild sogar um Kartenzahlung ausdrücklich gebeten. Selbst die Bezahlung eines 80 Cent-Brötchens ist mit Karte kein Problem. Einschränkung: Alle Karten - außer Amex. Hierzulande wird man ja schon oft nach einer anderen Karte gefragt. In Belgien ist Amex der totale Reinfall. Karte direkt nach dem Urlaub gekündigt - die Monatsgebühr soll ich aber bitte noch bezahlen. Ich bin ja schließlich selbst dran Schuld, wenn ich den Urlaub nicht in Nähe von Amex-Akzeptanzstellen verbringe. (kostenfreie) Visa: Don't leave home without it.

Ich habe eine Platinum Business Card bestellt. Und muss feststellen, der Service bei Amex (und ich zahle immerhin stolze 700 EUR Jahresgebühr) ist wirklich richtig schlecht. Die Karte kam zwar schnell, ebenso eine private Zusatzkarte. Doch nachdem sie anfangs gut funktionierte, wurde sie nun gesperrt, weil angeblich mein Konto noch überprüft werden muss (macht man das nicht VOR der Freischaltung???). Die Partner-Zuatzkarte kam nicht. Stattdessen ein Brief, ich soll sie nochmal online beantragen. Unter dem Link kam dann der Hinweis "Es tut uns leid, derzeit kann Ihre Anfrage nicht bearbeitet werden". Auch das mit der Karte verbundene Reiseguthaben ist nirgends auffindbar. Und die 75.000 Membership Rewards Punkte, wegen denen ich das Angebot von Amex überhaupt nur angenommen habe, ebenso wenig. Alles in allem eine wirkliche katastrophale Customer Experience, die ich hier als - angeblich sehr guter Kunde - hinnehmen muss. Das können Mitbewerber - wie die Lufthansa Miles & More Kreditkarte Gold - viel viel besser.

Monatsbetrag/Abrechnung 2x abgebucht. Hotline sagt nur das Amex schon seit längerem Probleme hat und Sie an dem Problem arbeiten. Das kann immer mal passieren. Ich habe in meinen 54 Jahren es noch nie erlebt das mir eine Bank etwas doppelt abzieht.

Bonsoir Suite de mes mésaventures AmEx. Après 3 semaines sans carte car plafond atteint, je peux enfin réutiliser ma carte avec un nouveau plafond…. 800€. De mieux en mieux. Appel au service client et rebelotte… Aucune solution. AmEx = AmErde

Worst company Ever!!!!!
Worst company Ever, Just cancelled my Amex Business Platinum and 2 other business Amex's I had. Nothing but problems with them. They claim to be some high end card for $700 a year but all these free cards now have better benefits. If you use their card to redeem for flights they charge you 20-30% more with their travel site vs going directly to the airline site.......stay away from this company Visa/Mastercard are 100 time better

Devo dare ancora una stella ,addebito avvenuto correttamente come tutti i mesi,ma la carta rimane bloccata per 9 giorni,tempistiche che si riservano,a discapito del cliente. Sono gli unici a mettere queste tempistiche, considerando che american express non viene accettata in parecchie attivita' commerciali,e le spese annuali sono piu'alte di altre,ritengo non sia una carta che offre un servizio ottimale, leggo molte recensioni negative e questo non e' un buon segno.Sono molto delusa mi aspettavo un servizio diverso ed invece lo trovo molto scadente .

I could leave a negative score so hence the 1*. I have had this card for many years as a back up card. Following a recent holiday we disputed a transaction and despite assurances they would look into the matter - they did absolutely nothing with it. In fact they closed my dispute the next day but didn’t let us know. They said don’t pay the disputed amount till you hear back from us and then sent 17 emails threatening all kinds of action because the account had not been settled in full!!!! Plus they added interests an insult! YOU COULN”T write it. I’ve closed the account as this is the second time I disputed a transaction in the 5 years I had the card. The first time they eventually resolved with a goodwill payment. This time the account was closed. USE ANYONE BUT THIS COMPANY. Trust me not worth the hassle or expense.

Ho subito le angherie della compagnia. Cliente dal 2005, mi trovo all’estero, tento di utilizzare la carta, carta bloccata. Chiamo Amex e mi vien detto che ho ecceduto il limite di spesa da loro arbitrariamente assegnato a mia insaputa. Blocco carta, imbarazzo e un angheria non indifferente. Sempre pagato con addebito cu c/c è mi sento trattato come un criminale. Intendo cancellare la carta ma soprattutto a sconsigliare chiunque a sottoscrivere un contratto con loro. Le risposte datemi dal call center vacue ed ingiustificate. Concordo con tutte le altre recensioni, 0 stelle.

Keine Kontakt Emailadresse zu finden und diese Hotline Telefonnummer ist eine Katastrophe, Es fängt schon an mit einer Computerstimme, nach zig Eingaben hat man nach Minuten einen wohl wirklichen Ansprechpartner in der Leitung der einem nicht versteht. Unmöglich. Karte wird abgelehnt obwohl vor ca. 4 Wochen die Freischaltung per EMail veranlasst wurde. Aber der Punktebooster für das Rewards Programm 15 Euro konnte gebucht werden? wird auch abgebucht. Ohne Worte

Leider ist auch ein Stern zuviel! Aber einen muss man ja geben! Ich fühle mich getäuscht und durch die FAZ von heute bestätigt! Erst ködern sie Kunden mit der Platin Karte ca. 700,- Gebühren im Jahr! Und wenn du die Karte hast, bekommst Du eine Mitteilung das du dich nicht mehr so bewegen kannst wie vorher! Die Leistungen liegen auf einmal unter der einer normalen Gold Karte für 50,- Euro im Jahr bei jeder anderen Bank! Konsequenz? ich kündige wie sehr sehr viele andere auch die Karte natürlich wieder! Unnötige Erfahrung für viel Geld! Finger weg!

dispute team is a joke . mechant charged my card 2500 for RV cleaning while cleaning was already included in contract. customer service is a joke as well - bunch of people from India who has no understanding of whats going on. was member of amex since 2006. closed it. no more.

Vielleicht nur ein Einzelschicksal, für mich jedenfalls "never" Amex. Fehlerhafte Buchungen, Abrechnungsfehler, deutlich geringere Akzeptanzstellen gegenüber anderen Anbietern und dann im Ausland bei Fremdwährungen unverschämt teuer. Da nützt der schöne Anschein von Paybackpunkten überhaupt nichts. Und wenn Amex sich am Ende sieht, kommen anonyme schreiben mit Drohungen von Zahlungserinnerungen, wenn sie selbst die Fehler verursacht haben. Und die Hotline? Hilflos und überheblich.

No reward point. Scam!!!
I applied for credit card with amex with a promise of 80000 reward points. They issued the card but never delivered on the reward points due to APPARENTLY a double issued card. I called to inquire and they acknowledge it was their fault and they promise that the points will be credited within 8 weeks. Now it is over 11 WEEKS and i am still waiting the the points. SCAM!!!! I do not recommend this company AT ALL. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

The Worst Credit Card Company
I don't normally write reviews, but I just wants others to be aware that Amex is the worst credit card company as well as the worst customer service to ever experience, much like others have mentioned. The fact that one cannot really leave reviews almost anywhere except for TrustPilot speaks volumes as to the reasons why Amex doesn't want potential customers to be aware of how bad their company really is. I've been a customer with them for several years, and I've had my initial Blue Cash Preferred for over 4+ years, but the last 2 years, my user experience and utilizing my rewards with Amex has greatly declined. The American Express website always has problem, and I haven't been able to redeem my Blue Cash Preferred rewards for over 2 months, and whenever I contact customer service, they either claim they are going to message IT about the issue or won't allow you to redeem your rewards NOW and that you can use them for your NEXT balance statement. Speaking of customer service, the Amex customer agents are by the far the worst people to get help from. Either they just send "copy + paste" responses or tell you what you already know without actually answering or acknowledging your questions. If they don't know how to help you OR if you even quote anything from your credit card agreement verbatim, they either with gaslight you or transfer you to someone else. One agent I was transferred to was so extremely hostile and unprofessional over a simple duplicate merchant charge that Amex gave me statement credit due to poor experience after I had reported it. However, my most annoying situation with Amex was when I had an offer to apply for the American Express Delta Gold via Delta's website when purchasing flight tickets. Applied and was approved, and after spending the required amount, Amex later claimed I wasn't eligible for the bonus offer since I used a previous offer. But after reviewing my accounts and card agreements, I never received used an offer within the 3 year timeframe, and after months on debating this with Amex and Delta, Amex later changed their response and claimed they had sent my an email/"electronic information" that I wasn't approved for the Amex Delta Gold bonus prior to applying for the Delta Gold card; however, I never received it and they couldn't prove it since their "IT department wasn't able to provide the electronic copy of the email". Overall, I'm disappointed with how Amex has been as of the last few years. Personally, it's obvious how Amex is more interested in getting as much money out of its users as it can, even if means not allowing them to use their rewards or sending predatory credit card offers that won't merit any bonuses without any official notice. As of now, I have closed any account with them and I recommend to anyone they would do the same.

Bonjour, Je voulais apporter un témoignage concernant une publicité d'American express via le site internet d'Air France et de celui d'American Express . Ma compagne a souscrit une carte gold d'American Express Air-France KLM en voyant la publicité sur le site d'Air France , sur celle-ci il était écrit que nous pouvions bénéficier d'une réduction de 250€ pour l'achat d'un billet d'avion chez air France pour montant de 1500 € minimum et bénéficier d'autres avantages. Donc, nous voulions acheter un billet d'un montant de 4500€, le salarié d'air France nous dit que notre plafond pour acheter un billet est de 700 euro à notre grande surprise..... car ce plafond n'a jamais été clairement explicite sur cette dite publicité et personne du service clientèle d'American Express nous l'a clairement signifié. Je me pose la question si ce n'est pas une publicité mensongère... car il est nullement explicite sur cette publicité que le plafond est de 700€ et que nous ne pouvons pas bénéficier de la réduction de 250 euro car pour en bénéficier il faut faire un achat du billet d'avion de 1500€ minimum... Après notre appel téléphonique à Américain express ils ne veulent rien savoir, ils reconnaissent même que cette publicité est tendancieuse. DONC TRES TRES MAUVAISE EXPÉRIENCE CHEZ EUX!!!!!!!! NE DEPENSEZ PAS VOTRE ARGENT CHEZ EUX!!!!!!!

Amex erlaubt Geld Abbuchungen die schon lange Storniert sind. Der Service sagt sie kümmern sich drum. Aber es passiert nichts über Monate dann sagen sie das sie zu wenig Infos hätten und mein Geld ist weg. Die Karte ist gekündigt, aber mein Geld ist sehe ich nie wieder. Danke Amex
