PayPal offers a digital wallet and money management tools that allow you to make payments and send money worldwide. 

The PayPal Cashback Mastercard allows PayPal customers to earn generous cash back rates. Cardholders can earn unlimited 3% cash back when they shop with PayPal at millions of brands, including Target, Walmart, Apple, Wayfair and Nike. 

Suitable for?

PayPal doesn’t set a limit on the amount of cash back you can earn, which means this product could be an excellent choice if you regularly spend significant sums on your credit card. 

As the card has a relatively high interest rate, it is best for those who always pay off their credit card balance in full each month. This way, you can avoid paying interest on your borrowing, while enjoying the benefits of your rewards.

Their pay in four is just as awful as…
Their pay in four is just as awful as their customer service, despite a refund being processed, customers will still be expected to make payments. Other facilitators for pay in four immediately void any remaining payments and process the customer's refund accordingly. PayPal's customer service is honestly about as useful as a screendoor on a submarine.

PayPal paid a fraudulent claim against my account and refused to refund my account claiming that they have no obligation to refund amounts paid, as in my case, for unauthorized charges. That is unbelievable and is contrary to the entire purpose of using PayPal. I would recommend you avoid them completely.

Poor customer service
I received a payment from a customer to cover materials. Paypal put a 21 day hold on the money I quit using Paypal for several reasons lets just add this to the list. I didnt want to use them but my customer insisted. Ive done over a 100 transactions with ZELLE and not one problem.

Their phone line is all useless automated options, you can never get through to an actual person, and they have made it impossible to reach them without being logged in to your PayPal account. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! It's a scummy business that will try everything to take money from your pocket. If you want buyer protection use a credit card! I used to swear by PayPal but not anymore. So far this year I have raised 2 disputes with sellers and PayPals responses have been absolutely shocking Dispute 1 I purchased a jacket but when it arrived it was covered in mold, I tried contacting the seller to set up a return and had no response so I then reached out to PayPal who after waiting 5 weeks said to return the item to the seller to get a refund. After returning I heard nothing and had no contact until 3 weeks later when PayPal said they would not be giving me a refund as "the return never arrived". I checked the tracking and could see the item was successfully delivered to the correct address and signed for by the seller. I spend hours trying to get in contact with a real person and then spent a further 30 minutes pleading my case to someone who was just reading generic responses from a script. Luckily in the end I was able to speak to another person who understand what had happened and agreed I should get a refund. So after nearly 2 months, I was refunded the £210 I spent on the jacket. Dispute 2 (This dispute is currently on going). I purchased some trousers from a seller who later in the week decided to cancel the order and issue a refund. After waiting 9 days for the refund to process, PayPal email me and to say the refund was unsuccessful and they will get in contact with the seller to sort the issue. I then contacted the seller who said PayPal had not reached out to them and I should open a dispute in order to get a refund as they were not sure why the first refund had been canceled. After opening a dispute and adding screenshots of the seller saying I should open one to get a refund they closed the claim in favour of the seller as "A refund had already been processed" No, a refund had not been processed, a refund had been started and subsequently canceled by PayPal. I've tried messaging and calling but all I get are bots. This is extremely disappointing as PayPal was always a brand I trusted, I've been using it for 10 years and would always recommend it but not anymore.

Always compare total dissatisfied users to total users in general...
It is definitely frustrating when you feel you’ve done nothing wrong and are nevertheless penalized. But again, you can’t use anger or individual anecdotes as proof of a company’s worthiness because most people only post anecdotes or complaints when they’ve had bad experiences. So if you see 90 negative posts out of 100 total it looks like 90% were dissatisfied or even scammed which is not the case. It could be that the 0.01% dissatisfied customers are the ones that post 90% of the posts. Instead do some research into statistics of how many use PayPal successfully vs. how many users are dissatisfied of all TOTAL USERS. While it is concerning to read, I still say one’s own experience is the best gauge. We have been running a business (multiple in the past but just one now) on PayPal for decades and we keep balances well into the five-figure range (sometimes approaching six figures). We’ve never had any significant issues and we perform an average of two transactions every single day (some days none, other days six or seven transactions). The only issue I personally had was on my personal (not business) PayPal account where many years ago all these automated withdrawals were happening per second (obviously a computer program) and draining my PayPal balance and then my linked bank account. Of course this was scary as hell but they immediately reached out, helped me resolve it and restored all my funds. That was the last significant issue. Other than that the only issue is certain rules and fee changes that can be frustrating or not in my favor, but nothing significant. Keep in mind, we use PayPal as a bank as well. We hold funds there for our business until ready to dole them out to the appropriate parties. It is a holding place for us as well as a way for us to take credit card payments by phone with no monthly terminal rental or even service fee. Many of our platforms that process payments on our behalf will issue our business payouts via PayPal as well. We do unlimited transfers of funds to and from our linked bank accounts with never any fees and there are few online services that can do all that, as well as enable you to set up recurring payments and bills, website checkout pages for a business or even event ticket sales with intricate options and pull-down menus (such as for a high school reunion or charity event). It is more versatile and does a LOT more than just allow you to make payments for purchase online, more so than most any of their competitors.

After two years with paypal (business) they all of a sudden started holding a large percentage of my money for up to 21 days "just in case". Mind you, this hadn't happened previously even once. Not a single customer complained or had an issue. So long paypal, you won't be getting my 3.5% anymore. My advice...don't do it.

It would appear PayPal side on the seller when issues are raised,hide behind a wall of silence and don't actually understand the nature of complaints sent to them..probably because the staff that handle these complaints are in India or Philippines. It used to be good to protect yourself against scammers and dodgy sellers… now they stick to new terms and conditions protecting dodgy sellers. I had some damaged items delivered and raised a dispute for the damaged ones. The amount for the dispute was 60£ and they refused to side in my favour because i did not want to send them back at my expense… the thing is, to send them back and get my 60£ refund, i had to pay 95£… they closed the case against me without giving me the possibility of explaining again that they basically wanted me to spend an extra 35£ just to get rid of the damaged items which is ridiculous. I looked in the help section about a possibility to appeal and followed what they said but this didn't work. I wrote a complaint explaining them that given this precise situation it was not fair, and the answer i got was something like we checked and we are right. This is all the more disgusting than an agent admitted that the seller was of extremely bad faith, but paypal had already decided… sickening…

Not sure why the reviews here are so bad - I always try to use PayPal when shopping online, whenever possible.Two reasons: 1) Their buyer protection is good - it's easy to raise a claim. I've had some occassions where they rejected it, but overall they helped me get money back from crap sellers. 2) Option to stop automatic payments - useful for subscription schemes that make you jump through hoops to cancel. Just cancel the payment in PayPal and you are set. That said, I wouldn't use: 1) PayPal credit 2) Payments in a different currency - tried it a few times and was ripped off with the exchange rate.

Paypal Betrug !Vorsicht!
Über Vinted hat eine “Käuferin” ohne es mal kurz besprochen zu haben per Paypal Käuferschutz gezahlt - kann man an sich auch gerne machen, wenn man 1. auch an die zusätzliche Gebühr denkt und 2. bedenkt, dass man (in dem Fall ich) die Ware dann scheinbar auch versichert versenden MUSS (blöd wenn man aber nur für BüWa gezahlt hat und keine Gebühr mit eingerechnet hat)! Käuferin hat dann angeblich kein Päckchen erhalten und ein Verfahren eröffnet. BüWa Postbeleg hatte ich Ihr (wie ich es immer mache) und dann auch an Paypal mit dem Sachverhalt geschickt. Ohne versicherten Versand (Sendungsverdolgungsnummer) kann PayPal aber scheinbar nichts machen und hat den Fall ihr zugunsten entschieden. Und das, obwohl ich nachweisen kann (Screenshots), dass sie das Päckchen doch noch erhalten hat - weil sie sich mit einem Bild wegen eines weiteren Themas noch mal zurückgemeldet hat. Am Servicetelefon von Paypal wurde mir erst noch geraten ich solle lieber schnell die nun - 0,70 EUR (Cent) an Paypalguthaben ausgleichen, weil auch geringe Beträge geahndet werden würden und diese besser nicht mehr als 24h offen sein sollte. Bro, der Fall wurde heute um 15:45 entschieden und um 16:02 habe ich direkt bei Paypal angerufen. Prioritäten sind hier klar - Gespräch wurde auch für Schulungszwecke aufgenommen ;) Ende vom Lied: Ich soll mich nun an die Verbraucherzentrale richten. Nicer shit auf jeden Fall. Super, dass ihr sowas unterstützt :D !!!VORSICHT VOR SCAM - Geld ist weg!!!

Ich habe bisher nur positive Erfahrungen mit Paypal gemacht. Besonders hat mir der Käuferschutz geholfen einen höheren Betrag relativ problemlos zurückzubekommen. Der Paypal-Kundenservice hat mir dabei bei meinen Fragen zum Prozess stets schnell und unkompliziert zur Seite gestanden.

Gaat veel fout, en werkt niet aan herstel
Paypal is een bedrijf dat pretendeert voor veilige online betalingen te kunnen zorgen waarbij de koper beschermd zou zijn. Dit is bij niet het geval. In Feb 2023 heb ik een app geïnstalleerd en er een dag later afgehaald.nu werd er 3 maand later 80 euro afgeschreven terwijl er geen overeenkomst was. Het app bedrijf zwijgt en reageert niet. Paypal adviseerde via de optie 'berichten' een melding aan te maken op grond van autorisatie probleem. Dit bleek fout voorgelicht, dat kan gebeuren. Maar ipv de boel herstellen en de juiste hulp te bieden werd er doodleuk verteld dat er nu niets meer aan gedaan kon worden omdat hun software systeem dat niet aan kon. Geld terug laten halen bij de betreffende partij was helaas ook niet mogelijk. Oftewel, geld kwijt en partij die geld ongeoorloofd int kan vrij door met anderen ook duperen. Paypal zou de beschrijving van 'koopbescherming' moeten vervangen voor 'oplichtersbescherming'. Een klacht indienen bij PayPal hielp ook niet. Ze leggen alleen uit dat er geen koopbescherming kan worden geboden vanwege hun stugge softwaresysteem, en dat zij aan hun plicht hebben voldaan. Laat ik daar nu anders over denken. Daarnaast het onterecht ontstane tekort proberen aan te vullen. Ik wil niet als wanbetaler geregistreerd. Maar dat lukte niet ivm problemen op hun site. De bankgegevens opgevraagd zodat ik het via mijn bank ipv hun site kon overmaken. En na de betaling te hebben overgemaakt heeft PayPal het zelf ook nog eens afgeschreven. Een opeenstapeling van fouten en niet functionerende systemen, waarbij geen actie wordt ondernomen om dit te herstellen.

PayPal tells me I need to create a """ bank account """ I believe they called it a balance account. It was clear this is not a bank account like one would get at the corner bank but they sure as heck act like it. I don't know why I will need bank account to transfer cryptocurrency to investment account. I would give a minus one star if I could.

Io mi sono trovato bene, quindi mi sembra giusto riportare questa esperienza positiva...Circa un mese fa ho acquistato un pedale per chitarra elettrica, per un importo di circa 50 euro, da un venditore ebay con zero feedback, e che dopo l'acquisto non ha mai risposto ai miei messaggi, e tantomeno spedire l'oggetto, fornendo inoltre un codice di tracking inesistente. Non riuscendo nemmeno ad aprire una contestazione su ebay, per non funzionamento della pagina sul sito di ebay stesso (!), procedo quindi ad aprire una contestazione su Paypal e fornisco screenshot vari, tra i quali quello in cui si vedeva che il codice sul sito del corriere indicato non funzionava. Visto che la pratica non veniva sbloccata, faccio anche una chiamata al call center, e mi risponde una ragazza molto cordiale da Lecce, la quale mi conferma che faranno anche loro le varie verifiche, e che bisognava solo attendere. Oggi, dopo circa un mesetto, ho avuto il mio accredito sul conto, quindi con un po di pazienza ho risolto grazie a Paypal.

Vill bara varna för att paypal har stulit pengar från mitt visa kort genom ett konto i Polen, alternativt att någon har hackat paypal i Polen. Sedan har dom också låtit ett scamföretag som heter Total AV stjäla pengar av mig i två år för abonnemang som jag aldrig har köpt. När jag försökte få rättelse för det sa dom att det skulle lösa sig. När jag ringde några dagar senare sa dom istället att tiden för tvisten löpt ut och att jag inte kunde överklaga och att dom dömt till "säljarens" fördel. Det var alltså bara en vecka jag hade haft på mig att överklaga och den första jag pratade med som sa att allt skulle ordna sig berättade inte det för mig när jag ringde in. Den sista idioten jag pratade med var otrevlig och hotfull.

They also don’t report your account and payments to the credit bureau until you default. Finally, be weary of people asking you to pay them through the family and friends option. It’s about as trustworthy as cashapp and they won’t go after the money if it’s a scam. Paypal gives the vibe of trying to cheat people out of money through high fees, interest rates, and lending too much to people who don’t need it.

I tried to make a claim because I was sold something incorrect. Escalated to paypal and they take up to a month to investigate which is fine, however after a month they then email me and give me ONLY 3 DAYS to respond or else they SIDE WITH THE SELLER. 3 days???? Their service is the worst, if you can even get in. I was just trying to pay off my loan and their system just kept taking me round and round. And if you don't want to provide your bank account number you have to call them and practically beg them to take a payment from your debit card because they just want your account number. They make it very difficult if you don't want to give them your bank account number and they act like you're being unreasonable. But with everything they have done they have shown me that I can't trust them with such important information. We should be able to make a payment with a debit card from their site. I'm done with them. It was too hard. I've also worked with Affirm and others and they are sooooo much more professional than paypal. Paypal is NOT your pal!!

Volevo effettuare un pagamento di 1950 euro in tre rate ed ho usato la carta American Express Platino registrata regolarmente. Dopo avere effettuato il pagamento esce la scritta che non ha accettato questo tipo di pagamento. A questo punto in automatico ha evidenziato l'altra carta di credito con circuito Circus e a quel punto ho pensato adesso invio e mi farà fare il pagamento delle tre rate su questa carta di credito ed esce la scritta operazione effettuata. Vado a verificare e invece delle tre rate mi ha prelevato l'intera somma dalla carta di credito. Ho comunicato via chat con l'assistente che rispondeva dalla Tunisia spiegando ció che mi era accaduto e se poteva aiutarmi e la risposta é stata Pay Pal non accetta American Express e gli ho chiesto allora perché mi ha permesso di registrarla? Dove c'é scritto? La risposta é stata: " Lo decido io dell'assistenza e vale anche per le prepagate ". A mio parere all'atto della registrazione la mia carta American Express doveva essere rifiutata. Intanto ci ho rimesso io che ho pagato tutta la somma quando volevo fare le tre rate. Ci sono rimasto malissimo. Questa situazione é veramente deplorevole. Ci doveva essere una scritta che chiedesse quanto meno...Vuole usare lo stesso pagamento per questa carta di credito? Mi é venuta una rabbia indescrivibile. Purtroppo quando non c'é un numero con il quale poter parlare e avere assistenza non si puó fare nulla. Ci voleva qualcuno che bloccava il pagamento e mi dava la possibilitá di rifarlo. Niente di niente. Si rimane soli con il cerino in mano. Esperienza negativa da non ripetere mai piú per quanto mi riguarda. Fate attenzione prima di fare certe operazioni. Spero che la mia esperienza possa servire ad altri.

Polecam wszystkim bardzo uważne używanie PayPal a najlepiej rezygnację z tego rozwiązania. Jeśli już z niego korzystacie wypłacajcie środki od razu jak je tylko otrzymacie. Ja go używam od kilku lat i teraz nagle moje środki zostały zablokowane bo PayPal ma taki kaprys. Mało tego chcą ode mnie skany dokumentów tożsamości a z transakcji oczywiście pobrali sobie prowizję - która to nie została zablokowana. Nie podają podstawy do blokowania ale za to żądają szeregu wrażliwych danych pod przykrywką odblokowania środków. Naprawdę uważajcie, ja już dziękuje za usługi takiego operatora który, robi co chce a do tego próbuje wyłudzać dane.

Fidèle cliente depuis 2010, écoeurée Fidèle cliente depuis 2010, je n'ai jamais vraiment eu de problèmes avec les transactions. Cette fois-ci, j'ai acquis un meuble TV en verre trempé à 1249 euros chez UBALDI. Il est livré avec la façade fissurée. Le livreur s'en va sous prétexte d'aller à sa camionnette téléphoner. N'obtenant pas réparation auprès d'UBALDI (que je déconseille fortement au passage), j'ouvre une réclamation sur Paypal. Ubaldi m'envoie alors un lien pour programmer la reprise du meuble de 80 KG.. Paypal me demande verbalement de ne pas donner suite avant le 5 juin. Le 4 juin, Paypal me fait un mail me demandant le numéro de suivi colissimo (hum, quel manque de sérieux) avant le 13 juin. Je donne le 5 juin la référence du dossier de retour/enlèvement par VIR TRANSPORT UBALDILOGISTIC en joignant l'image écran du rendez vous pris pour un enlèvement le jeudi 8 juin. Je reçois une demi heure après un mail me disant que le dossier était clôturé en ma défaveur car je n'avais pas transmis le numéro de suivi !! J'ai passé la journée d'aujourd'hui à les appeler. Langue de bois de la part des 3 interlocuteurs successifs que j'ai eus (après beaucoup d'attente et de difficulté avec le serveur vocal, quelle horreur) : on va rouvrir immédiatement le dossier, c'est une erreur de système, on va remonter le dossier à la cellule expertise pour examen. Pour l'instant, la réclamation est close, le meuble va être repris et je n'ai aucune garantie d'être remboursée et de combien. Je regrette amèrement d'avoir confié ce dossier à Paypal, ils ne sont pas sérieux du tout, même contre productifs. J'envisage sérieusement de supprimer mon compte Paypal, je n'ai plus confiance en eux du tout. Je suis écoeurée et j'ai l'impression d'avoir été menée en bateau. Quel manque de professionnalisme de leur part de décider sans même prendre connaissance du dossier. Très difficilement joignables et totalement inefficaces. Without my knowing it, as I was never explicitly asked, à pre-approved payment was set up on my PayPal account. A few days later, without any valid justification, parcelmonkey.fr withdrew à large sum of money from my PayPal account. Ordine sul sito Smartbox per un regalo ad un'amica. Inserito correttamente indirizzo per la fatturazione (il mio) e per la spedizione (quello della mia amica). Il cofanetto viene spedito da Smartbox al mio indirizzo(quello di fatturazione) e non a quello della mia amica(quello di spedizione). Una volta arrivato il cofanetto ho dovuto spedirlo alla destinataria con una spesa di 19.52 euro. Preciso che avevo già pagato per la spedizione errata. Il comportamento di Smartbox è stato indecente (servizio clienti inesistente) ma quello di Paypal peggio. Dopo avermi richiesto documentazione a riprova, che io ho fornito (la fattura della spesa del corriere che ho dovuto sostenere) oggi mi risponde che mi rifiuta il reclamo e che secondo loro quello che ho ricevuto è conforme a quello acquistato. Carissimi, non esiste solo l'oggetto spedito, che è quello da me acquistato, ma anche come il venditore ti offre un servizio, e se io devo spendere 20 euro in più e caricarmi di eseguire una spedizione, allora non mi sembra che sia tutto a posto. Dalle recensioni anche qui vedo che Paypal non sta facendo quello che dovrebbe, vuol dire che non lo useremo più, e tanti saluti.

Been a PayPal customer for over 15 years- 1st international payment, I took the time to call and ask about fees cause it was a large purchase with currency conversion. I was told the bank or card you have attached will determine fee and exchange rate. When I checked out I saw PayPal exchange rate and no fees disclosed, so I checked out. Later I was charged $484 additional fees to my card. Many hours on the phone with PayPal, one rep said my bank charged me, finally manager told me it was their fee, and sorry cant help you. I really don’t like PayPal now, and will try not to use them ever again!

I've had my PayPal account for 22 years. It's a personal account. A friend just transferred a large-ish sum of money to me. I get an email from PayPal saying they've held 85% of the funds for this "purchase" until I ship the "item" to the "customer", and they've kept $347.00 US as a "service fee". When I called PayPal, their customer service supervisor, Mark, was incredibly rude to me. He basically told me I'm out the $347, they can't tell me when my account was changed to business account, and he was incredibly rude about it. So this account I've had for 22 years is suddenly a business account, but they can't tell me how. They can't FIX the problem. They can't give me the $347 back. On top of that, they're holding 85% of the funds for TWENTY-ONE DAYS, and the other 15% of the funds, they said they'd release. So I went online to transfer the funds to the VERIFIED BANK ON THE ACCOUNT which has been verified for OVER A DECADE, and I was required to submit a photo of my ID, and a current photo of myself, before they'd release. So I did that, and they told me they can't release the funds because they can't verify it's me. WHAT??? Look, I don't know how many random strangers want to put money INTO my bank account, but should this really be an issue? It's a PayPal account TIED TO a specific bank account, and so what does it matter WHO is putting the funds into the account, as long as the funds are going into the bank account tied to the PayPal account. Seriously, people nowadays seem to have problems with logic. And all of this frustration has only cost me the small (lol) sum of $347.

For seven years now, PayPal has been connected to my website to take payments. Warning do not do this. They sent me an email asking me to provide tracking numbers for all the retail products. I have sold in the past three months. Until I show them this they have frozen my money. Crazy how easily the seller can lose…
Crazy how easily the seller can lose the case only because people buy without reading and want to ship back. No reason was given where did we do wrong when the case was closed in the favor of the silly buyer. PayPal also made as pay a "Dispute fee" of 8$ out of nowhere because you had to deal with the case. What a joke!

forced to stay at baseline currency by api bug / unfair practice
You are forced to stay at one baseline currency, as an option in api to set/change "base currency" is not working. When you click on three dots nothing happens. Looks like a simple trick done on purpose to block people from changing the currency and get paid for currency conversion. Such things should go to court and paypal should pay gigantic penalties for such practices

El servicio ha empeorado bastante de lo que era. Ya me han rechazado varias veces la reclamación de compras que no llegan, o lo que llega no corresponde con lo comprado. Lo que venden como protección para el comprador no sirve de nada.

Ble svindlet via noe Facebook ads, klaget, og fikk avslag grunnet at jeg ikke kunne bevis det bedre. Ringte dem, og det ble en løsning, men fikk beskjed om at han var snill i dag. Google problemet, og mange har blitt utsatt for det samme, og samme firma. Ellers trekker dem store beløp av pengene som kommer inn, og dette er jo verre en banker. Så har dem en vekslingskurs som er dårlig. Greit å betale med, men ikke andre veien.

Nonostante hanno riconosciuto che sono stato truffato hanno permesso allo stesso teuffatore di farla franca. Ho preteso che il truffatore dovesse farsi carico delle spese di spedizione (come le ho pagate anche io dalla Cina all'Italia) perché se spedisco il reso dall'Italia mi costa il doppio di quanto ho pagato l'oggetto da me acquistato. Adesso provvedo a chiudere il mio conto di questo inutile servizio e mi affiderò ancora ad Amazon che è un miliardo di volte meglio.

Paypal promises free, fast transfers. In reality the interface is slow and free transfers tend to fail at the last step without explanation. It is odd that the cheapest options would consistently fail, forcing you to use PayPal's expensive conversion rates and other less interesting and more convoluted options. Still waiting for my $9 transfer to be "approved". Apparently I'm up to no good with my $9 transfer and someone needs to take a look. I wish PayPal would just work.
