Overview

Adding Credit Builder to your One account allows you to automatically build your credit history by effectively functioning as a secured charge card (a credit card backed by a secured deposit).

When you create a One account, the company will allow you to create Pockets where you can store your money. Each Pocket serves a different purpose, such as spending, saving, and building credit. The amount of money you put into your Credit Builder Pocket essentially acts as your credit limit.

When you spend via your Credit Builder Pocket, One will subtract sufficient funds to cover this debt from your balance. It will then hold this money to make your monthly on-time payment, which will take place on the 25th of every month. One will then report these on-time payments to the credit referencing bureaus, and they will become part of your credit history, which may cause your score to increase.

Suitable for?

As Credit Builder is available to most customers who are rebuilding their credit and doesn’t include a minimum credit score requirement, it could be an attractive option for those seeking a more stable financial future. Ethically minded customers may also be pleased to learn that deposits held in One are never used for oil and gas lending for exploration or production, or lending to manufacturers or direct sellers of firearms.

Interest Rates and Fees

Adding a Credit Builder feature to your One account is fee-free. As its model means you are essentially pre-paying your balance, it also doesn’t have an APR. Likewise, the provider doesn’t charge monthly fees, account fees, overdraft fees, or non-sufficient fund fees across its products.

Rewards & Cashback

Through its partnership with Fetch Rewards, One allows customers to earn Fetch points on their spending, which they can then redeem for gift cards and other rewards.

You’ll earn one point for every dollar spent and can see details of available rewards via your One account.

One also operates a refer-a-friend program, which entitles both you and a friend to receive $50 if he or she opens an account and completes their first qualifying direct debit of $250 or above. You can refer up to 10 new customers to receive a maximum of $500.

The Application Process

To apply for an account, you’ll need to be at least 18 years old and a permanent US citizen. During the application process, you’ll need to provide your:

  • Full legal name
  • Date of birth
  • Physical address
  • Social security number
  • Phone number
  • Email address

For security purposes, you may also need to provide a copy of your government-issued ID or a utility bill. If you’re concerned about your credit score, be assured that applying for an account with One won’t affect it.

Once you’ve received an email informing you that you are eligible to add Credit Builder to your One account, you can do so via the ‘Get more from One’ feature of your app. Watch this video for a demonstration of adding Credit Builder to your account.

Your One card is shipped on the day you open your account and should arrive within 7-10 business days.

Help & Support

You can contact the company by phone, social media, email, or online chat between 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (PST).

When we contacted the company via social media, we received an extremely polite and helpful response in less than an hour.

The website also contains a detailed selection of FAQs, which answered almost all the questions we had.

Security

The company takes a number of precautions to protect both your data and your money against fraudsters.

As a One customer, you’ll receive a notification for every transaction on your account. If your card is lost or you spot a suspicious transaction, you can then block all transactions until the matter is resolved. One also protects data in transit using 256-bit encryption and employs biometric identification when you open the app.

The company also has an extensive privacy policy on its website, which explains how it uses your data.

FAQ

Does One have an app?

Yes, you can download the app for iOS and Android devices.

Can I withdraw cash with my One Card?

Yes, you can withdraw cash free of charge at up to 55,000 ATMs through the Allpoint network. However, you may pay a fee if you use an ATM outside this network.

Can I deposit cash into my One account?

At present, cash deposits are not available.

Conclusion

While Credit Builder is an extremely attractive option for those looking to rebuild their credit profile, it also offers a number of desirable rewards and incentive schemes. In addition to the potential to earn reward points, customers who refer friends, family, and colleagues could earn up to $500. Although One doesn’t offer 24/7 customer service, it could prove an attractive option for tech-savvy customers thanks to its biometric security features.

Methodology

This review was compiled using information on the company’s website and by contacting its customer service team over social media.

If you read online they are not a bank…
If you read online they are not a bank and your money is not protected. They do not protect against fraud. I filed a dispute per their website immediately and although their site say 3 to 4 months it took 7. It took me 7 months to find out I wasn’t getting my money back.. FDIC insured my ass. They aren’t even recognized by the subsidiary they claim. Really sketchy company. I am glad I only lost a small amount of money and I moved my account to Discover for better interest. I’d rather put my money in a shoe box than give it to them.

One has been a nightmare - use another bank
TL;DR they've turned someone stealing money from my account a reason to suddenly close it. Now I'll have to wait a month to get the money out. Avoid at all costs. Use a more reputable bank. This company worked fine for me for just under a year, and then I started having issues. I had a scammer steal about $700 out of may bank account. I reported it to One and they were able to review the transactions and refund me $500 of the $700 about 13 days after the claim. The other $200 was not returned because they claimed the card was present when it never left my possession. I asked for them to re-review those, mentioning that the card wasn't present and that their documentation was simply a word document saying that the card was present. About 5 days later, I received an email saying that my account was under review. Literally ONE minute later receiving another email saying: "After further review, we’ve deemed it necessary to close your account. Please note that we can share no additional information and that our decision is final." In order to get the money out of the account, they need a bank statement as proof of a new bank account... so I'll have to wait a month to get my money back. Its all been a nightmare and made a bad situation worse. Avoid at all costs. Go with a more reputable bank.

Wow I got the one debit card as a gift
Wow I got the one debit card as a gift. I had been off work because of an accident the person gave it to me yesterday. I didn’t want to use it as a bank card as I’m just gonna use what was on it and throw it away. Hell they are taking all the money before I can spend it. I activated it yesterday when I got it. $5 was taken as it hadn’t been activated within 15 days. Then I was charged $1.50 for activating it. I went to use it after work as I was told there was $43.50 on it, it kept coming back as insufficient funds. So I come home call the 855 number. It’s not on the card I had to google it. Only to find out they took another $5 so now it’s down to $38.50. The attorney general in my state will be contacted as I feel this is unlawful. All this company does is steal from the poor.

Another SCAM . DO NOT BUY THEIR DEBIT CARD
There should be an option for no stars. I bought the 25$ One Debit Card at Walmart with a fee of $3 as a graduation gift for my niece. The cashier confirmed that there was no monthly fee. The packaging on the card also falsely listed as no monthly fee. I just found out that they took out a $5 monthly charge on top of the $3 fee that I already paid. So for a $25 card, I was charged $8 in fees! Such an unethical company. I was told by Customer Service that there is nothing they can do because the card is not a normal card, whatever that means. What a lame excuse. STAY AWAY unless you want to make a donation to a dishonest company! I wish I read the reviews before I purchased the card.

This company is a scam
This company is a scam! I bought a one card from Walmart, deposited 500 hundred dollars on it July 24th, and haven't been able to access my money or even activate the card for that matter. I've called numerous times to get the same bs story over and over, my account is under review, my funds will be available in one to two business days. That was 3 weeks ago. These people are stealing money from anyone they can . I wouldn't recommend anyone banking with them, unless they have money to just give away. I am currently working with legal representation over the matter.

Please release my money
I am a victim of carjack at gun-point. I lost everything (my car, phone,…) On July 15, 2023, ONE restricted my account for my protection because of unauthorized international transactions. Those merchants refunded all my money. Until today, Aug 06, 2023, ONE would not release my money. Instead of transfer my remaining balance to the external account i provided at 1 time, ONE divided into 3 different times and send by paper check (7-14days) and only send 1 check per week. It has been almost 4 weeks and Im still waiting on the 2nd check. I tried to request the 3rd check last Thursday but ONE agents REFUSE to confirm whether or not my 3rd check can be sent. I’m a victim but i got treated like i’m the criminal. I have to set-up all my bills auto-pay to a different account on the date that ONE told me they would transfer money and never did. I got charged over-draft, late payments,… for trusting everything ONE agents told me. Can i please ask you to issue a check of my remaining balance tomorrow (Monday, Aug 07, 2023) so i can pay my bills so my phone, utility,… won’t be disconnected. I really appreciate it.

"ONE Bank: An Unpleasant Experience - Promising Features Marred by Unprofessional Conduct"
I am dissatisfied with the banking service provided by ONE. Although the features offered were appealing, I found their business conduct to be highly unprofessional. Surprisingly, my account was closed within a mere two weeks of opening it, all because I raised disputes for a few transactions. While I can comprehend them choosing not to honor the disputes, the permanent closure of my account without any prior notice or the chance to contest their decision feels remarkably one-sided and unjust. In summary, my experience with ONE was far from satisfactory.

They will not give me my $22k
ONE FINANCE IS REFUSING TO GIVE ME MY MONEY: The initial transfer of 22k was made on July 3rd. I have almost double the amount in my account. I canceled and reordered the money already once and it didn't work so they're saying I should just try that again. They said I have two choices: 1. Cancel again and try to reorder AGAIN 2. Escalate, which could take much longer than canceling and just trying again. I spoke with two supervisors and they could not escalate me further or provide me with any options other than the two above. It's been over two weeks. This is illegal and I'm interested in taking legal action. I'm buying a car and ONE FINANCE will not give me $22,000 of my money. This is not someone you want to bank with.

This Bank won't last long
This Bank won't last long. My account will be terminated, and I'm very delighted to say goodbye to them. If you do bank with them, I hope you don't have any problems since they won't help and you can kiss your money goodbye. Because they don't care about their clients, they are likely to fail. Now that I trust the Plutonium Company to manage my money, I no longer need to keep it secure here.

Customer service can’t do anything to help
After my first direct deposit I spent some money. They locked my card for unusual activity. Customer service couldn’t tell me why and couldn’t or can’t unlock it. So this banking app is the worst. I informed them that I was out of town with no way to get home and all I could get was (I’m sorry). So now I’m waiting on Monday to hopefully be able to speak with someone in the risk department about releasing my funds. I’m definitely finding me another banking app.

Stay away
Stay away. Get a different prepaid card. I have several issues with this card. The first is cunning and deceiving Terms of Service designed to drain your balance. When you read the back of the packaging it states you will be charged $10 for a "monthly fee" 10 days after activating the card. What it doesn't say is it actually locks that money immediately upon activation so you can't even use the funds even if it is prior to the 10 days post activation... On top of that it costs $4 for the initial load. So right off the bat you're losing nearly $15 of your balance. Secondly, the authorization hold clear times are absurd. If your'e not familiar with authorization holds, let's say you go to the gas station and swipe your card at the pump. The merchant will authorize your card for a certain amount, sometimes $50, sometimes it can even be $100. Now when you pump your gas let's say you only get $20 worth, the rest of the authorized funds are released by the merchant and with any other bank I've used they immediately return to my account balance. With OneCard they will sit on your money for 5 days just to clear that authorization hold... Thirdly I was rejected a permanent card... Not that I want one at this point, but it was rather strange to me even though I contacted support offering to send my license or whatever info they needed to verify my identity. So that automatically made me ineligible to have the monthly fee waived had I met the requirements for whatever direct deposit amount. The ONE good thing I will say is customer support is readily available via online chat on their website and within the app. Always nice to have when it comes to banking. All in all it's the worst prepaid card I have ever used. Pick any other card and it's going to be better then this one. Amex Bluebird, Walmart Moneycard, etc. I would not advise anyone to get this card and I consider it borderline, a scam.

Time-Urgent Grievance
This company is truly the most horrific "bank" known to man. Zo Silver has lied and engaged in deceptive practices with his consumers for months, and Brian Hamilton the CEO refuses to answer emails. I have field grievances with CFPB, BBB, and California Attorney General for False Advertising and Deceptive Business practices on behalf of ONE. URGENTLY have senior management phone me ! I have demanded multiple calls and Zo Silver, as well as their abhorrent "Customer Care" which is a bunch of inept overseas people whom can not be understood have engaged in deception and false advertising tactics to deny consumers rights to their funds.

I bought a physical card at a walmart
I bought a physical card at a walmart. The cashier asked me how much to add and I added $150. The instructions in the back of the card start by saying to 1st deposit the money into the card, then, step 2, activate the card by making a One account. The problem is when I made the account, it never asked anything about the card I already bought and instead gave me a new card with a $0 balance. I looked at all the options in the app but there was no option to add a new card to my account or to replace the new one with the one I bought. I called customer service for assistance but the guy insisted i just retry the steps on the card. I told him that was the problem but costumer service couldn't be bothered. So now I sit in defeat writing this. Don't ever use One, Don't ever use Chase, and Don't use any Prepaid Scam card that makes things convoluted to make a simple purchase. Lesson learned.

You deserve a 0 star rating
You deserve a 0 star rating! Believe this or not, they will not close my account because it has .01 left in account. The minimum amount to withdrawal is 1.00 and for them to send me a check with the .01 costs 3.00. I had to send them a pdf file stating I wanted it closed, then they still denied it. I am still trying to get them to close my account, all because of a penny. Signed as Rick S.

Removing key features without notice.
Removing key features without notice or explanation. My wife and I have been One members since 2021, and finally made the decision at the beginning of 2023 to move all out money into One Finance. Once we did that we learned that they removed mobile check deposits for some people (my wife being one of them). The ability to share an account with someone is just gone. Customer service has also been absolutely horrid. All our interactions with customer service in 2022 was delightful and our issues were always fixed quickly, but everything we've encountered in 2023 has been met with non-answers and reps just disconnecting us in the middle of talking. When asking about communications for removed features the reps have all claimed that we "got a notification", but neither me or my wife have any emails about removed features. Also, their website says nothing about features going away. In fact, some of their help desk documentation even claims features still exist when they very clearly do not. If you're looking for a new bank, One Finance is NOT the way to go. This once amazing service is a shell of what it once was.

No clear explanation for fees charged to account
Unfortunately, the customer service that I've experienced with ONE finance has been appalling. I was charged OTC fees (consecutively in one day ), despite not having used an ATM, or withdrawing money from an ATM which is when OTC fees would be applicable (according to ONE). After countless messages and a phone call, no one was able to tell me which transactions had incurred the OTC fees. The final answer from the bank was that after an investigation they found no error had occurred, that I would not receive a refund for the OTC fees, and the case was now considered closed. Again, no further information has been given to me regarding the specific transactions on my account that have incurred the two OTC fees. This is not normal. You can charge fees however your wish, but a bank should be able to clearly link transactions to fees and should give this information to clients/ customers. This is standard practice.

Because zero’s not an option.
Because zero’s not an option. There isn’t a worse “bank” or banking app period. Trying to fund an account outside of direct deposit is a scam built to use money in transfer as interest bearing capital for days. I won’t even attempt to contact their customer support outside my email to close the account. Whole app looks and feels like a grift. Run don’t walk from another moment of considering banking with ONE Finance. Amazing it’s not shut down.

One finance zero stars
Absolutely the worst generic internetish bank. A payment to my health insurance didn't clear so the company took out 3 payments without my authorization or knowledge leaving me almost broke the day after my bi monthly pay. I have no gas or food. I called the company they told me to call the bank, get refunded and repay if I choose to continue with their services which I have never used and will be replacing. I sent in 5 disputes and 15 emails and phone calls. No response. Now my work week starts and my account has 1.27 in it for the next week. I signed up with this work pay card because it stated that my pay would be delivered 2 days early. Which it was. I have a portion put in to my JP Morgan Chase account because I didn't think I would get it early. But every paycheck the money goes in at 8AM to Chase. The rest goes on my One card anywhere from 12 to 5 pm. So my bad, I didn't need the stupid card from One. The date of this same incident my pay went into the one finance about 6pm. I emailed and they said they were having trouble with direct deposit going in. What would that problem be? Outdated software? Short of outsourced help? Anyway I would not get this card. It's been a joke with no response to my important to me incident. It's not important to them obviously.

1 STAR IS TOO GENEROUS
One WAS a fantastic bank that I recommended to everyone. In September 2022 they have literally removed every single thing that made them fantastic. The best features of their online banking system and features that I used the most were creating 'pockets' that I could schedule automatic payments to when I received a direct deposit. Like a virtual envelope system, it made it easy to direct my money for monthly recurring bills, other features like a credit builder, assigning your physical debit card to a pocket, having a shared account with other One users, have also been removed. Plus the enter app is the worst requiring text message login only, so do not change your phone number or loss your phone. If you ever get into contact with customer service their answers and resolutions are textbook word for word the same as FAQ posted online. This bank went from amazing to complete garbage.

I received an email stating that my account was locked due to unusual activity only to find out that it was permanently closed and a check will be mailed to me for the balance remaining which i will not receive for 10-14 business days! This is really horrible business and communication on your part!I would advise nobody to use this bank going forward. FYI - Posted on Facebook as well

Fraudulent Claims Process is Garbage!
I called in to stop a fraudulent charge and got told I have to wait for it to post as it is on hold and then we can do a dispute investigation. Any other bank would have stopped it right then and there. So now I have to wait for it to fully post, then fill out a dispute form, then wait 10-20 days to see if it "qualifies" for a temp reimbursement and then another 45 -90 days to do an investigation. Mind you nothing is guaranteed to returns the money to my account even after all of that. Customer service is horrible. You wait forever for them to tell you one thing and then tell you another, and it gets to the point they are just done with you and hang up. It was a good bank for savings but now I doubt I'll be keeping money here.

This company went into the toilet. They removed all the features that made it great. Notlw they make sure that you can't move money to any other accounts. They limit your savings pockets and are trying to find ways to make you sepdn the money your try to save. I absolutely hate their new practices. I'm done with them I've heard great things about Chime over the last 5 years. I'm moving my money there

Going to pile on as a former simple bank customer. The changes have taken away every useful feature other than the pockets. I can't connect to my other budget and finance apps, can't pay bills, can't use my debit card with a pocket. Just a mess. And forget about customer service. They just respond with canned answers. I'm so disappointed and will be looking for another option.

One Finance ...
One Finance ended up making changes that prettified everything and removed functionality. I can't even deposit a check anymore. Support is not helpful. They say that they're available 7 days a week, but the support phone line always rejects my call. This was supposed to be the solution to Simple closing down, but apparently it isn't. Looking for a new bank (again).

Bait and Switch.
One was an amazing fintech with amazing features. A Holy Grail. Then it was bought out by another company/s which in turn, demolished nearly all of those features. I have a feeling that they wanted to ruin One because it was top competition and offered a lot more than any other bank. I was formerly a Simple customer, after they shut down a lot of us were scooped up by One and we were promised that One would never sell out and change. Obviously we were lied to. I was forced to go hunt for another bank YET AGAIN.

He told me it was unclear as to where it went exactly but I cannot do anything till I do a dispute he couldn’t even handle that. I bypassed the problem at first even having problems with my card being activated. It has only been two weeks and I’m already giving up on this. I am going to the nearest ATM and take out the rest of my money before it diappears to another made up place and declare it closed and forgotten. Please pass the word on to anyone who is considering this do not waste your time and lose your money.

Lack of full disclosure...0% interest
I moved money to OneFinance and another bank after the sale of our home. I was pleased with the service and 3% interest rate so I decided to move the whole balance to One. It was accomplished after some hassle getting the accounts linked. After the 1st month I noted minimal interest instead of the expected tripling of the monthly amount. I called in to determine if there was an error and was advised there is a limit on the deposited amount that earns 3% ($25,000). I asked what the balance over the $25k earns. The answer...0%. I moved my money out that day. I don't see that limit anywhere - nor do I see the $200 that I missed out on.

DO NOT SIGN UP.
DO NOT SIGN UP. We signed up for One Finance when it was great. In one day, 9/15/22, they destroyed it. None of the features we signed up for are available anymore, the poor customer service people are up against it because they have to deal with furious customers, and One simply does not care about their own employees to give them absolutely no way to help shocked customers. TERRIBLE place. They were bought out by Fintech Hazel so just keep an eye out and do no business with that company, and if they buy out any services you're using, abandon ship.

ONE is garbage
This bank went from amazing to complete garbage. I've been with ONE for a couple years now and loved it because I could auto-save my paychecks, allocate spending with different "pockets" that they let you create, etc. So needless to say, I've built up a nice little nest egg. I needed to move some money around and initiated a transfer from an external account to my ONE account. THEY CANCELLED THE TRANSFER. This is the THIRD TIME they've done it. And then had the balls to e-mail me, "If you would like to make this deposit again, please first verify that the amount of money that you are moving is currently available in your external account." Like I don't know what is going on with my own money??? If you want a bank that is going to treat you like you're too stupid to manage your own money, and then will bat away money when you try to transfer it to ONE...this is the bank for you.

ONE used to be a great bank, but not anymore.
ONE used to be a great bank. They are now the worst bank. They stripped major features that we fully relied on. We set up financial systems and workflows only to have those features removed. I'm not talking about one or two features. They gutted the experience. One major problem about this is they say they emailed the customer twice about upcoming changes. I looked. I see emails about changes coming, but it made it sound like they were adding features, not taking features away. The emails did NOT explain the complete 180. If you look at their Twitter page, you see 99% of customers find them unfavorable.

All innovative features completely gone.
When I first signed up, this bank was so feature-rich and innovative it would've made Simple bank blush. Multiple pockets to split money, a credit building account, the ability to switch which pocket would be used when paying with your debit card, the list goes on. It was a match made in heaven. Ever since they got bought out by Walmart, through incredible hubris and honestly what I can best describe as intentional self-sabotage, they got rid of ALL of these functions through what was supposed to be an "update" promising a better user experience. It's a joke and beyond infuriating. I know a bank is just a bank but frankly? I honestly feel betrayed. In what universe was this even remotely a good idea? If you sign up for One Finance now, you're signing up for a shell of it's former glory. It's basically just a standard, run-of-the-mill fintech bank that offers basic features like 2% cashback, a savings account, overdraft protection and stuff you can find anywhere. My advice? Sign up elsewhere. Don't enable this company and have them believe their decision was the right one by giving them business. I switched to Envel and I'm not looking back.

One Finance Has Gutted Best Features
As other reviewers have indicated, One Finance has removed some of the best features of their online banking system. The features that I used the most were creating 'pockets' that I could schedule automatic payments to when I received a direct deposit. Like a virtual envelope system, it made it easy to direct my money for monthly recurring bills. You can now only have 3 save pockets, and the virtual credit card feature is gone. Other features like a credit builder, assigning your physical debit card to a pocket, having a shared account with other One users, have also been removed. I was also once a Simple Bank user, and when BBVA bought and gutted this service I turned to One. Now the same thing has happened to One Finance and I'll be seeking a new solution.

If I could give a negative rating I would. I've been trying to reach anyone from this company via phone, email, and app chat without hardly any responses just that I have an open ticket. They told me that 25 times with everything I responded back to but unfortunately they so called upgraded the app with tell the customer and having the customer have the opportunity to update it themselves like every other update I've ever seen. Anyways the app is actually a downgrade especially for me since I mainly use it for the credit builder which they took away including my funds inside of it. Now all my money is missing without anyways of getting in touch with them they s***.

Best features have been removed.
When my partner and I signed up for One a year ago after Simple closed, we were excited about many of the features. Recently, One took away many of the features that were extremely helpful to us and made their app one of the bests, such as: pocket sharing with another One customer and assigning your debit card to a pocket. We're extremely frustrated that these features were taken away and are now looking into other options.

One started out as a great bank
One started out as a great bank. A few years ago when Simple shut down, my husband and I switched to One. Sure, they didn't offer joint accounts, but they did have shared pockets, including the spend pocket, which made it function as a joint account. However, over the last few months, especially the last couple of weeks, they have been removing features with no notice. No more credit line. No more shared spend pockets. And you can no longer link your physical card to any other shared pocket. My spend account was overdrafted while I was out shopping earlier this week because we weren't told that we couldn't actually use our shared pockets anymore. Very frustrating! Now, I'm trying to place an online order using my spend pocket, which has more than enough funds in it for this transaction, and my card has been declined several times. I've had to talk to One's customer service way more in the last week than I've ever had to talk to any other online customer service, and they don't solve the issues. I will be switching banks, for the second time in a year, because I'm done with One taking away all the features I loved in the beginning.

Betrayed their customers, a shell of it's former self
One was a fantastic bank that was trying to really innovate in the space and help customers empower themselves financially. When Simple bank closed down a few years ago, they actively pursued those of burned by that bank selling out, and promised us that wouldn't happen with them. For about a year, all was well - transparent product roadmaps, lots of updates....and then everything collapsed. Walmart became an investor, the CCO disappeared off twitter, and as of 9/15/2022 that completely self destructed their own product. EVERYTHING that made this an innovative bank is gone. So many features many of us came to rely on for our finances wiped out overnight with little to no communication from the company. Literally one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. They used the goodwill of many of us early converts (and our money) to build themselves up for another fintech sellout to WALMART. It's one of the worst examples of startup culture / capitalism there is. Stay away from this bank. Nothing they tell you can be trusted.

I would highly suggest that you do NOT use this bank if you do when you get gas you will get charged what you pumped and then a additional $100 the next day that they will turn around and hold for 5 days even though they already took the money out that you pumped. When you call to get it taken care of they will tell you that there is nothing that you can do and they you just have to wait 5 days to get your money back.

Have had this account since May 2021. Been a happy camper until today. I had a 650 line of credit with them. 0% interest if paid in full by month end. 12% annually. I get paid weekly so though I use the loc all the time it is cleared or almost cleared weekly. Today, May 12, 2022 after a $100 deposit brought account positive they sent message they are discontinuing line of credit effective today. Thank God I don't put all my eggs in ONE's basket and had paid items from one of my other accounts. To remove an loc with no notice is just unethical. Supposedly they are no longer doing credit lines. Not sure I will stay. Line of credit option and stated mission was reason I was okay banking without a local branch.

A really nice online-banking experience.
I've had One for about 6 weeks. It took some time to transfer all of my direct deposits to One and to set up automatic payments for my credit cards, etc. (as it would with transitioning to any new bank), but One has features nobody else has. First, there is generous interest earned on money in the Save "pocket" (1%) and even better interest (3%) on money in the Auto-Save "pocket". Second, being able to set up multiple pockets, and SHARE them with other ONE users is awesome. I set my daughter up with a ONE account, and we share a pocket so I can instantly send her money when she is off at college. Similarly, I set my mother up with a One account and can send her money instantly as well. No waiting days for money to become available to them... it is really "instant". Also, getting my pay 2-days early by direct deposit is super helpful. There is also a free credit line with up to 1-month to pay interest free, low credit fees (1% per month), and no additional fees. And the One App is first rate and easy to use. The down side? One promises it will have mobile check deposit functionality soon, but it is not yet available. That, and a traditional "bill-pay" service (also in development, apparently), are the only features One is missing. With those features, it will be the hands-down winner for internet banking.

Do NOT sign up for this bank
Do NOT sign up for this bank. They will not accept handwritten checks via mobile deposit from old people who make handwriting mistakes. My grandmother is 99, almost 100 years old, and she accidentally put 2023 instead of 2021. So, she does what EVERY check writing person does and changed the 3 to a 1. One Finance refused to accept it and wants me to have my old grandmother write another check. Gonna close my accounts and move somewhere else. My credit union accepted the check without any issue at all. THAT is how you do service.

Disappointed with One
I have been extremely disappointed with One and am in the process of closing my account. They don't seem to want my money. It took them almost three times as long as my new Marcus account to complete the external link with my credit union. After that was done with the small amounts in and out, I followed their instructions to do a transfer less than $500 the first time. That went through okay. The site stated that you could do subsequent larger transfers. I tried to initiate THREE subsequent transfers to fund my One account and ALL of them were cancelled by them. I've given up. Two good points though. The debit card did come quickly. And I did get good and quick responses from their email help account. Good luck if you decide to go with One.

What a refreshing take on banking...
What a refreshing company that is adapting to a changing demographic. I really love their products. They offer 3 percent on direct deposit (no one else does this). They offer 1 percent on up to 25k--very few do this and definitley none of the major banks are even close. Chase bank and Bank of America pay around .05 of a percent--yikes. They have phone support, chat, and email support. I have access to more ATMs than I ever did with Chase or B of A. I suppose the momentary downfall is that you can't deposit cash. I rarely interact with cash so it's a non-issue for me. I hope they grow and do well. Also, Zo from Customer Service was helpful to a small issue I had and was able to resolve it quickly and with class. Well done, One!

I understand holidays but someone has to be available you would think.... Nope, I emailed like One said but I got an automated no help response.. Direct deposit up to 2 days early is actually 7am on payday so that is worse than what I just switched from... One has given me a fantastic prize of late fees and having me owe someone for groceries which is pretty embarrassing might I add. I honestly can't believe this is happening but as I pinch myself again I find it is.

BEST ONLINE BANK EVER!!!
I absolutely love, love, love, love ONE!!! They are the best online bank I've used. I love the "pockets" feature, and I love the auto-save feature as well. It helps me save, and stick to a strict budget month to month. As someone who lives paycheck to paycheck ONE has been phenomenal, no monthly fees, no minimum balance, great app, and great customer service. What more could you possibly ask for? As a customer I have been extremely satisfied. I have not had 1 issue, not 1. I've had to call customer service a couple of times and 99.9% of the time I've had an excellent experience. I left my traditional Bank because of there high end fees, and constantly overdrafting my account and with ONE I don't have to worry about overdrafts, or maintenance fees constantly and this is why I love ONE it's stress-free banking! Thank you ONE for making my financial life 10X easier!!!! I LOVE ONE!!!

Not self-employed friendly.
I switched to One Finance from Simple because they were being bought by a standard bank (BBVA) that doesn't have the same shields in place as Simple and well One Finance has. I'm talking about overdraft and banking fees. So I switched to One... I actually love the app and pockets. But I can't get instant payouts from any payment platform. And you can't connect to anything like Experian or Quickbooks Self-employed to track spending. I'm self employed due to the pandemic and I need at times to get funds quickly and also my credit score is all I have for any type of financing needs. If you get a standard paycheck and don't need to manage your income outside of their own app this is a great service.

Best Web Bank
I transitioned from Simple to OneFinance back in January after the announcement of Simple's closure. I was skeptical at first because they are relatively new but I love trying out new FinTech. With my handy Chime account on standby I began to send my direct deposits to OneFinance. Getting my paycheck two days earlier is amazing. It the difference between paying rent on time and a $150 late fee. A feature I enjoyed about Simple were the expenses. The downsides of expenses was that it would "hide" the money from sight but you could still technically spend it. With One, you can set up pockets with unique account numbers and they recently added virtual cards to these pockets. I am so happy and recommending this bank to everyone I know! This key to budgeting and making sure the money is there when I need it. The auto save feature is pretty sweet as well. Saving 10% of my paychecks is so easy. Once they as mobile deposits this bank will be top tier.

I can not honestly give them a full review...
I can not honestly give them a full rating until the routing number issue is corrected and I'm not sure if it's something they have control over. When you start utilizing this account and adding the routing number to various systems, you will soon realize an error. Most systems are not recognizing the routing number, thus not allowing you to add the account for direct deposit. You can not add cash to this account, so this is a major concern. Have you contacted support, is the next question right? Well, of course I have. They have a generic answer and "form" to give to the perspective business or entity where the routing number is not being accepted. It's obvious, that they know about this issue, they created a form to give to customers. The problem is, when you are systematically trying to add the routing number and the business entity's system is not recognizing the routing number, you can not sign up for direct deposit and hand in a form... To whom are you to hand in the form? The system simply wont take the routing number, therefore direct deposit has not been established, therefore this account serves absolutely no purpose.

If you want budgeting, sign up now!
I'm moving to One Finance with the sad news of the closing of Simple Bank. So far I love the pockets feature, and the sharing of pockets between people! This will make it so easy to deal with shared bills between family members! Also, I think it's brilliant to have each pocket have it's own routing and account number! This means I can have a unique pocket for each bill for it to pull from, even each credit card I use! This will ensure I set aside enough to cover my credit card usage each month, and the card pulls the statement balance in full from it's unique pocket! Makes it much easier to use credit cards without the risk involved with not realizing how much I've spent each month. Also, reoccurring transfers are finally available! This not only allows transfers between the main account and the pockets like with Simple, but we can set reoccurring transfers between pockets as well!!! This means I can pay bills with my credit card and get the security and benefits (like cash back) of doing so, and then I have reoccurring transfers to set aside enough for that bill each month in it's own pocket, and then schedule reoccurring transfers between the pocket for the bill, and the pocket for the credit card I used to pay the bill! It's so easy once it's all setup! Thank you One Finance for making an extremely cool bank right when I need it most. A benefit for people who use gyms is you can sign up for the gym membership with a unique pocket for them, and when you want to cancel just close the pocket preventing further charges! :-P We all know how hard it is to cancel a gym membership, which is why they only accept direct bank drafts to make it as difficult as possible to cancel. Anyway, love you so far One Finance, I hope you don't get shutdown in a few years like Simple is now! 5 stars!

Not usable at all
Sign up was easy. However multiple barriers to actually funding the account. It would not link with 2 different funding accounts due to “security issues” that One blamed on the other banks. I had to manually put in account #s. Which was fine. Except they do the small change deposits to verify the account, then said it wasn’t verified even though I got the deposits. I had to email a PDF of a recent bank statement to link an account. I got an email saying it was linked then the transaction was cancelled for no real reason. I got an email saying Insufficient funds or security issues. All around impossible to use this account. I guess it was too good to be true at those APRs with everyone else below 1%.

I’ve been a customer for a couple…
I’ve been a customer for a couple months now and love the service from employees and product. Pockets are innovative and help me manage my money better. Love the auto save paycheck feature and keep up the good work team!!

I am very pleased with my ONE account
I am very pleased with my ONE account. Built in credit line is great. Customer service is quick and accurate when you have questions. No hidden monthly fees or overdraft charges. I recommend this banking account to someone who wants good service with great benefits.
