BankAmericard® Credit Card BankAmericard® Credit Card Apply Now

Overview

Bank of America offers a robust selection of versatile general-spending credit cards, great for any consumer who doesn’t want to tie up their rewards with a single vendor or airline. The cards’ flexible rewards system allows cardholders to redeem and apply their travel rewards or cash back however they wish, whether as a statement credit against a future billing cycle or as cash directly deposited into a checking account.

The company’s credit cards are also well reviewed. Each of the five cards boasts at least a 4.3-star rating, while the bank itself holds the #1 rating in J.D. Power’s customer satisfaction surveys for both the banking advice and online and mobile app categories.

Suitable for?

Bank of America’s credit cards are suitable for a diverse range of consumers, from those without a credit history looking to get their first credit card or those seeking a simple flat-rate rewards structure—to consumers at the high end of the market who want to upgrade to a premium card with a longer list of benefits.

The bank’s credit card offerings are especially appealing to Bank of America clients who have an existing banking relationship with the financial institution. Customers who qualify for the company’s Preferred Rewards program can get a 25%-75% rewards bonus on certain cards, depending on their rewards tier.

For example, customers not enrolled in the Preferred Rewards program would earn unlimited 1.5% back on all purchases with the Bank of America Unlimited Rewards® card. Meanwhile, Gold-tier members (who receive a 25% reward bonus) would earn unlimited 1.875% back, while Platinum-tier members (50% reward bonus) could earn unlimited 2.25% back. Platinum Honors members (75% reward bonus), those with more than $100,000 with the bank, can earn unlimited 2.625% back—making the Bank of America Unlimited Rewards® (and the Premium Rewards®) cards the highest-earning unlimited flat-rate cash back credit cards on the market today.

Additionally, those who hold checking or savings accounts with the bank can link their credit card accounts to take advantage of advanced AutoPay features, eliminating the risk of late or missed payments. However, customers must manually pay their credit card balance for at least two months before they are eligible to enroll in AutoPay.

Interest Rates and Fees

Nearly all Bank of America cards have interest rates in the mid-teens to the low twenties, and most cards, other than the bank’s travel-oriented cards, charge foreign transaction fees. However, none of Bank of America’s cards carry an annual fee other than the Premium Rewards® card, which comes at a $95 yearly cost.

Rewards & Cash Back

Every Bank of America card offers a welcome bonus, and each except for the BankAmericard® offers rewards, either in the form of points or cashback.

The Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards™ and Unlimited Rewards® cards each offer a $200 cash bonus if cardholders spent at least $1,000 in the first 90 days, while the Bank of America Travel Rewards® card offers 25,000 points on $1,000 spent within the first 90 days. Meanwhile, the Bank of America Premium Rewards® card offers a larger bonus—50,000 points on $3,000 spent in the first 90 days. Finally, the BankAmericard® offers a $100 bonus when account holders spend at least $1,000 within the first 90 days.

The Application Process

Customers can apply for a Bank of America credit card online. Applicants will need to provide their name, address, phone number, and email address. They will also need to answer questions regarding their citizenship, marital status, employment status, income, and expenses.

Approval decisions are usually made immediately after form submission, but may take 7–10 business days.

Help & Support

Customers can contact customer support via phone or live chat. Wait times for both are short, usually under 15 minutes. For general questions, customers can call (800) 432-1000. For credit card inquiries, dial (800) 732-9194. Email support is offered to existing clients only, and is not available to the general public.

Online chat and phone call hours:

Mon-Fri: 8am-9pm ET

Sat: 8am-8pm ET

Sun: 8am-5pm ET

Security

Bank of America’s website is secured with the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol, safeguarding shared data from access by third parties. Additionally, clients have the option to enroll in 2-factor authentication for greater security. The bank also protects its cardholders with the $0 Liability Guarantee, meaning you won’t be responsible for losses due to fraud.

FAQ

How quickly will my application be processed?

An approval or denial decision can be made in as little as 60 seconds, though certain applicants may have to wait 7-10 business days for a decision.

When will my card arrive?

Your card should arrive within 10 business days of approval.

What’s a balance transfer?

You perform a balance transfer when you transfer the outstanding loan balance on one credit card to another. Balance transfers incur a fee of 3% of the transferred amount and usually take 2-4 days to complete.

Conclusion

With an attractive selection of points-based and cashback rewards cards for both category-specific transactions and general spending, Bank of America has a credit card for all kinds of cardholders. Whether you’re a Preferred Rewards client looking to optimize for rewards or a student looking for your first-ever card, you can find a Bank of America credit card that works for your wallet.

Long time customer
I've been with BOA for 10 years. I've had some awful experiences but also some great experience. Compared to other financial institutions I've dealt with, their customer service is above par, albeit they are fixing their own mistakes from time to time. Best way to get your problems solved is to meet in person with their personal bankers. They take far more accountability in getting your problems solved quickly than the call center reps.

Bank of America is Horrible
Bank of America is horrible. Not only did they charge a "debit hold" on my savings account for $9.99, the customer service number is a complete joke. It "glitches" and when you do manage to get placed on hold, it's always "longer than normal" wait time. This is the shadiest bank ever. I'm closing my accounts.

Worst Banking Experience
Bank of America charges a fee on every savings account if it does not have a certain amount. Bank of America charges a very high interest fee on every credit card and requires you to pay off the full balance that same month. Trying to get help over the phone with Bank of America is absolutely impossible! Horrible banking experience!

Very Frustrating..
Very Frustrating... Went to the bank for my employer to drop off deposits and get change. Waited in line for 25 minutes as the teller and the person in front of me shared their entire life stories with each other. The line behind me had grown to at least 13 people excluding myself. When I finally got to my turn i explained what I needed and the teller told me that she didnt feel like processing my deposits at the moment and to just take them outside and drop them in the drop box in the drive through. I then had to repeat that regardless of the deposits I still needed change. She acted as if I was a huge hassle to her. I spent 40 minutes at the bank in total. That is ridiculous!

Bank of america authorized a $4300 overdraught
Bank of america authorized a $8000. check to be cashed on my account. The account was overdrawn by $4300. Their policy is to deny anything over $0.50 short! I know it happened again. When I called to find out who authorized this transaction they closed the account. They stole $3700 and wrecked my credit. It had to be an inside job, only a senior official has the power to allow this huge a transaction to occur. Zero stars for corruption.

This site has been a complete disaster…
This site has been a complete disaster for me and my family due to hidden charges on my joint account that went unnoticed for a long time. Even after bringing the issue to their attention, they were unable to verify why it was happening and took no steps to address it. When I was on a trip outside the country, I was unable to use my debit card, and I never found out the reason. If not for the assistance provided by AsllC, I might have been stranded in a foreign land. From now on, I will entrust AsllC with managing my financial and investment life.

Bank of America has been terrible for…
Bank of America has been terrible for me. You call their number and the automated voice starts reading the options. Zero noise in the background and it stops and say, “I’m sorry I didn’t understand”. Then it starts over and keeps doing this. Also I accidentally made a transaction for more than it was supposed to be. They have no way to stop it from processing even if you call within 30 minutes. Then the guy I spoke to said it would take 45-90 days. So now I’m not only broke, but will suffer overdraft fees for their inability to manage peoples finances effectively. Not only that, but if you lose your bank card get ready to wait for one to come in the mail. They don’t even create temporary cards. Basically they hold your money hostage for losing your card. Zero stars.

BofA treats customers with disabilities poorly
BofA treats customers with disabilities like crap, let's be honest. I contacted them today about a 69.99 charge on my account that says DEBIT/HOLD and I was told this related to a claim I filed a few weeks back. The merchant in that claim refunded the money, but BofA had given me a temporary credit in the merchant amount which was okay, but...they DID NOT email me about the date the temporary credit would be taken back. I was told that such an email was sent on the 18th of May, but I've looked in my email from that date and there is no email about it. I'm autistic and prefer dealing with bank matters over text or chat messaging, but they refuse to allow me to deal with the charge over text or chat, asking me to call their claims department. I do not feel comfortable discussing such a thing over the phone and the nearest bank of america is too far away for me to reach while on vacation as there's no public transit in the area I'm vacationing in. By refusing to accomodate my autism by allowing me to handle the matter of the temporary credit charge over text or chat, they are violating the ADA reasonable accomodations clause. Allowing me to deal with this matter via chat or text IS A REASONABLE ACCOMODATION, which they are refusing, again, to provide. I have filed complaints with the DOJ's ADA department and with the BBB over this. If they continue to refuse to allow autistic customers to use their preferred method of communication, then they will be sued.

STAY AWAY FROM BANK OF AMERICA
I have had credit cards with Bank of America since the inception of BankAmericard, yes the very beginning, for me nearly 60 years of loyal and responsible customer patronage. Recently the bank made a outright decision to screw over a section of customers, and treat them with total disrespect, this being done without any obvious reason other than lack of customer respect and service. They essentially pulled back the customer’s ability to receive equity. Now this is not the case if a customer wrongs or violates the bank and/or it’s user agreements, then that customer will PAY the bank or else pay other consequences. If you are considering a bank credit card look else where, not only is Bank of America offering non competitive products but they also offer NO customers service and with pride they announce they don’t care.

100% disgusted with this bank. I have been a BOA customer for over 5 years, I have over $250,000 in their bank. I requested a merchant services account and business credit card for my business but this pathetic bank denied me on both even though I have a ton of money in their worthless bank. I have been approved by both Chase and Capital 1 for merchant services and business credit cards EVEN THOUGH I have NEVER used their services before. I will be now because I am pulling all of my money out of this terrible bank and switching to Chase. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK, THEY HAVE NO LOYALTY.

Significant hidden fees, dismissive, unethical
I would rate this bank negative 5 starts if possible. Our family has a credit card from Bank of America for years. We recently found out they have hidden unexplainable fees for foreign transactions, about 20% BS fees in total for a $300 expense. Multiple assistants claimed that they do not know their internal exchange rate from USD to Euro. That is the most laughable answer. I can't help but the assume that the company trained their employees to lie and steal, otherwise why wouldn't they know the most basic stuff? "I don't know" is unacceptable if they have the stomach to put it on the bill. We will cancel our cards from them and will never do business with them ever again. Stay away from this bank.

Spent for hours of my day trying to clear up a credit card issue with bank of American. Card was declined. I made a phone call. That department forwarded me to another department which in turn told me I had to go to a branch. I went to a branch only to be told that I had to wait for 1hr. to get someone to help me. Went to another branch; same thing. This time I made an appointment for 3hrs later. Went to that appointment at 3:30. Bank employee called to let a depart know that I was authenticated. They couldn't process this information. He found this out after a 30min wait on the phone. They forwarded him to another department where they made he and I wait for another 30min before someone waited on him. They talked to him and then me. Once we finally got help, after waiting for a little over an hr, it took about 5min to clear up. Moral of the story. Stear clear of Bank of america when it comes to credit cards. They suck at customer service when it comes to clearing up there own issue. By the way. I am not the only one with this opinion.

I decided to post this even thought it has been a while. They still continue to post to my credit report. They are ruthless scum. I lost everything in the Swami Obami too big to fail solution. BoA kept me in collections for the mortgage of a home that was foreclosed. The refused to help me find a workable solution to my predicament - it was definitely possible at other banks as I knew several others in similar circumstances. They sent me 1099s every year. Do yourself a favour and avoid all of the major USA banks. Better yet avoid all banks.

Your Merrill unit is an abysmal, talentless collection of decentralized teams that are great at outreach but can't seem to perform basic back office transfer functions when presented with death certificates and certificates of appointment. They Had Just One Job to Do.....
Six weeks ago I applied for their Travel Card. I have a 40-year pristine credit history. I was tired of Cap One's poor c/s. A few weeks later, I received a letter saying to call them which I did. Spent 2.5 hours trying to "get verified", most of the time being put on hold or being transferred to numbers that didn't help. Finally, I got a hold of someone who seemed to understand what to do. Five minutes later he told me I was verified and that my card would be mailed to me within 7-10 business days. Three weeks later and still no card so I contacted them again. After being subjected to more lengthy, fruitless conversations with people truly mystified about the operations of their own company, I decided to cut bait. Told them if I wanted this type of torture, I could call Cap One. At least I already have their card. To recap, I unnecessarily jumped through hoops trying to get their Travel card but nothing happened. I finally gave up when I was put on hold yet again, this time for 15 minutes, and no one came back to me. Good job BofA. You could've had a safe, long-term customer but for some reason you fumbled on the one yard line. Based on your review scores, I'm guessing this has occurred before.

Very bad attitude
Tried to open a checking account online. Despite having absolutely perfect financial history and scores it wouldn't do it online and gave no reason. So I called their "customer service" number. Which, by the way, list Open An Account as reason for the call. Got some guy in West Virginia who was rude, abrupt and basically said he couldn't help someone without an account and then blew me off. Needless to say I no longer have any interest in a bank with that kind of "customer service".

Mobile/online banking SUCK
The credit card autopay/bill pay/payment is too stupid compare to US bank. Autopay didn’t understand statement balance & current balance. It still processed the statement balance even my current balance was way lower cause I had some return credits. And it doesn’t count return credits as a payment. I canceled autopay 2 weeks ago but the autopay still went through & caused my checking negative. As one of leading banks BofA needs to upgrade the mobile/online banking. US Bank is smaller but their mobile/online banking is the best. Shame on you!

Terrible business account bank, you will be wasting time
Save yourself time and headaches, this is not the bank for any small business. They talked me into 6 accounts, when I went for only a business account. It is very confusing because you don’t have access to everything the same personal vs business. I imagine they are getting rich on service fees for 6 accounts I didn’t want or need. All I want is an end of the year credit card summary for my business card, it’s available for personal cards. Its more important to me for my business cc, I’m not sure why they fail to make it available in the same fashion as the personal cc. Many issues over the years with this bank. They closed my branch for a while and failed to properly notify anyone . There was only a sign saying temporarily closed for months and months. I’m sick of this bank, I’m just trying to gather my statements and get out. I have spent many hours on the phone whenever I have an issue. Today, I got passed to 3 places, each one said they were sending me to the place that could help. The last lady had an attitude that she was the corporate bank representative, and I’m small business, so she sent me to another number that had no human assistance and the call ended after no useful help. If I could give zero stars I would. Years of bad service here. All I want is an end of the year cc summary available to me in my business account as accessible to me as my personal cc summary is. No one could help me obtain it.

I changed banks due to one manager, Christina at the LA Chinatown branch. I tried to withdraw $120 grand. I had my DL. Christina kept looking at me kind of suspiciously. She told me that I needed an ATM card which I didn't have or wanted one. Another manager comes up to me and says "let me get you a card" and takes me to his desk. I filled out the paperwork and didn't receive a temporary card or my money. I went to another branch about a mile away and received a bank check. Another time, I was going to open a CD account and was waiting in the lobby for over 45 minutes. I keep seeing people come in, get service, and leave. Finally they called my name and it turns out that the rep. is located in a different part of the building and he wanted to talk investments and wanted to offer me Merrill Lynch products.

Read before opening an account.
I own a small business, my accountant requested that we get a BofA account simply since it's around the corner from them and made some of our check deposits easier. So I opened an account with them and confirmed nothing else was needed since I was planning on being out of the country for the next few months. A few weeks later we deposit our first check for around 16k, a few days later they freeze our account, after hours of phone calls they finally say the only way to resolve things is to come into a branch and show two forms of ID in person. At the end of the day, it took an international trip and many more hours and visiting 2 branches in person and talking to several other branches as well as their headquarters over a few month period for them to unfreeze the account and fix the many errors that they later admitted must have been glitches in their back end during the account opening process. For several months the account was "open" even though I couldn't do anything and their systems crashed for even the most simple actions. They refused to take any accountability or compensate in any way. The majority of the info we got from their reps was absolutely false. Calls and emails were often left unreturned. After around 7 months, we're still trying to reach out to get some of the smaller issues corrected. We've used many banks over the years for our business, including more than one that went under while we had active accounts and caused all sorts of issues, but I can honestly say without a second thought that BofA is hands down the absolute worst I've ever seen. I was a personal account holder at BofA in the past for years, it wasn't always like this, they've changed at their core. Things are broken and disaster-ridden to such an extent that I feel uncomfortable leaving a penny in their care.

Bank of America is a tyrannical OLIGARCHIC CORPORATION! They INDUCE and ENCOURAGE "fraudulent" activity then IMMEDIATELY come down on THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS and FREEZE YOUR ACCOUNT at the drop of a hat!! They never take such prompt swift action when it is the customer getting screwed!!! And they will always have a pleasant demeanor and a smile on their face when you question them. I have been banking with them for TWENTY YEARS. They GAVE MY PRIVATE ADDRESS INFORMATION AWAY WITHOUT QUESTION OR NOTIFICATION!!!!! THEY ENDED UP PUTTING ME IN FEDERAL PENITENTIARY AND SANITARIUM FOR 9 MONTHS!!!!!! I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH TERRIBLE THINGS ABOUT THESE ABSOLUTE MONSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our boiler let go in our home and…
Our boiler let go in our home and needed to be replaced so I borrowed from my retirement account to get it done! Takes awhile to complete the steps but in the meantime a family member let us borrow the money so it could get scheduled asap! Roughly 3 weeks later the check came in the mail so without wasting time I deposited the check in my bank of America account at that moment so would have time to clear also happily called our family member who lent us the funds! Following day bank of America closed my account with no head's up and when I called they said it's just a business decision and can do so at no communication to the account holder! So not only did they put a long hold on the check now I have to wait till there done with the account closure process which can take weeks to 45 days. After that they will send a cashier's check out to my address on file! So currently I'm at Bank of Americas mercy to get my funds to get a debt paid... I've never had such a bad experience with a bank before in my life... I have called daily about the matter and I get the same runaround from all the representatives that there's nothing they can do about the funds till the system is done processing! So I can't have my money till the system is done processing the account closure and finalized at that point they will send a check! So now family member who was nice to help us needs to wait for processing and of course we are embarrassed at the same time! 12 times roughly I've called and zero help from all nevermind the attitude! So approximately another 2 week wait or longer...read this again and make a decision based on my experience and see if it's worth opening up a account with them. P.S let me remind you that the bank had no problem taking 12.50 a month for a service fee. Update!!! On 5/16/2023 local branch called me to let me know I now have permission to access my funds...after changing the account closure date 7 times but will be going to the bank on 5/17/2023 to see if that changes! Very sad banking experience.

The worst bank of America
We recently used the Bank of America's Payment and Invoice services to receive payment from a client of our's for a time sensitive project. We were under the impression that this would be a pretty seamless process but we later discovered that the Bank of America is basically using a third party processing company with little to no customer support. After our customer paid our invoice we then received a date when we would receive our funds. When that date came we received a notification via email that the payment would be delayed. No worries, it was just delayed by 5 days. So here we are 5 days later and no ACH received from Bank of America. This payment is now 12 days late when the standard ACH only takes about 3 business at the most to reflect. We reached out to the Bank to voice our discomfort about how this process is going and Bank of America placed our bank account under review and 15 minutes later they closed our account with "no notice" at all. Mind you our customers' $16,000 payment to us is now in limbo. Before using this product we did a little research and learned that this product would benefit our company greatly by simplifying our payments by ACH, so it stunned us to find out they they are using a processing company with 2 stars on Trustpilot to process ACH's when Bank of America themselves can easily process ACH's. We feel like our account was closed maliciously and we have formally filed a complaint with the Federal reserve.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE on credit cards
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE on credit cards. REported suspicious non authorizes purchases on card; called fraud dept. Was ASSURED by Sara (in Montana) new cards overnighted to me! Very important---these cards are my path to using banked funds. Sara PROMISED Saturday AM delivery; UPS has yet to deliver cards---now it's Monday---3 days later. No one at BofA fraud can/will do anything!!! In the meantime I cannot access my funds for gas...groceries...prescriptions....or the new appliance I had to replace Sunday. Not only is it very time consuming to actually get a live person on phone.....they offer NO ANSWERS...NO ACTIONS....other than apologies. None would connect me to supervisors or transfer me to customer service. I will be changing credit card companies ASAP----this after 23 years of BofA. HORRIBLE. LIFE THREATENING (couldn't fill Rx) UNLESS. TALKING HEADS. I STRONGLY suggest looking elsewhere when shopping for banking or credit cards.

STAY AWAY FROM BANK OF AMERICA!!
STAY AWAY FROM BANK OF AMERICA!!! I have been a customer for 35 years and recently was a victim of Zelle Fraud. I received a fraudulent bank check for $1750.00 and called BOA customer service and was informed the check had “cleared”. I acted on this information and sent the money via Zelle to a “fraudulent customer” only to learn that the bank check was counterfeit and BOA removed the $1750 from my account. After a 4 month “investigation” BOA informed me that I received “misinformation” from their customer service and that they provided their employee the necessary education to ensure that “this will not happen again.” They refused to reimburse me for their customer service error. GOOD BYE Bank of America!

If you live outside of the US and are thinking of using BOFA as an American home for your dollars DON'T DO IT and run away as fast as you can. You need a US phone number for everything. But I will grant them one honor, the obfuscation on their website concerning how to get in touch is industry leading! Clearly none of the $130 Billion they made last year has gone on customer service.

Somebody should file a class-action suit!
I received a notice that I was pre-approved for a $700 credit card. I submitted my application and soon received a card in the mail. I bought a few items and made a few payments with no issues. One month I was late so I doubled the next one. Instead of communicating any problems to me, they froze the account. To remedy this and as an act of good faith, I paid almost $800 to the account online. Did they send me a thank-you note, or even a receipt? No. They responded by cancelling the account. Apparently they make their money in fines and yearly fees. If I had known how ridiculous BOA was, I would have kept my money and given them a valid reason to drop me. Do NOT waste your time by banking with this company!

If I could leave less than a negative…
If I could leave less than a negative rating of this POS bank, I wish to god I could. I have been banking with Bank of America since 2014. I have like them, until recently. A couple months ago, they let two merchants attack my acct with withdrawals of $200 each over and over without taking action and helping stop the abuse. So I took the action and made a complaint/ claims. Did get my moneys back. Then this last couple weeks I deposited a check from a client for work(art) and nobody from Bank of America said the check was a “fraudulent” check. Instead, they closed my bank acct down without letting me know so I could remove my life funds and go elsewhere for help. I have been a victim here at Bank of America SEVERAL times, and no professional help whatsoever. Just cutting ties and holding my funds. I was told I wouldn’t receive what’s in my acct for two weeks. Then two weeks is here, and now I’m told a month, because they want to reopen a claim that was closed?!? So, they want to take my money without me noticing and send me my check. Bank of America is NOT A TRUSTED BANK.

ANY BRANCHES IN HOUSTON OPEN ON SATURDAY?
If you're not going to be open on Saturdays, fine. But don't show to be open if you're not. How about updating your branch hours to reflect the fact that you're not open. Is it really that hard? I would like to think that your IT dept could handle this. After all, you're tasked with securing billions of dollars for your customers. But, apparently customer service isn't important. Sad. Really sad.

I moved overseas and I cannot access my bank account because I do not have a US phone #. For some reason, they cannot authenticate me and they cannot help me resolve major issues with my BOFA account. For example, we have a fraudulent charge and BofA cannot help me. BofA is charging me $25 / month to have an account when I already have another account with them. They are just charging money for services they cannot render. This is NOT how banks are supposed to operate. They have my money and I feel trapped. Since none of their employees can help me, they send me to the App to work with their AI "Erica" which is not on par, and sends me back to a phone # so that I have to call BofA again. The circle continues. It is madness.

What a terrible bank
What a terrible bank! I have been with Bank of America for 20 years. Paid off an entire mortgage with them and have 529 accounts with this awful bank and here I am on a business trip and not able to make zelle transfer. I called 4 times and they always manage to hang up after 20+ minutes into the conversation for some odd reasons. When I got through, gave them the 6 digit codes sent to my phone , answered all security questions , and they are still not releasing my Zelle transfer. I am in an hotel waiting for an ATM card and no access to cash. I answered every single security question but no luck. I could never imagine that a bank could intentionally hijack your money and leave you stranded. Unbelievable! This bank is just awful. Travelers should definitely stay away from Bank of America.

They go out of their way to get worse every year.
They no longer offer Quicken direct connect and the Quicken service they now offer is terrible. It doesn't even download a balance consistent with their own website, sometimes not a posted or even available balance just a balance out of left field. More than $10,000 over any possible correct balance from their website. They simply tell you not our problem, ("call Quicken"), even though other banks don't have these issues with Quicken. Their website used to be great then they eliminated features of their bill pay service, like for instance they removed many details about repeating automatic payments, like date of final payment and total amount paid and remaining to be paid. Now, after setting up a new account with another bank I see they have a $3 fee for ACH transfers, while most other banks don't charge at all for this. Since I have huge amount of money with another division of the bank I don't have to pay any fees, so this fee should be reversed. Regardless, for regular customers these fees are prohibitive especially on top of the terrible service. Bank of America used to be great and now they, year by year, just get worse by offering fewer services while increasing fees far above other banks.

Bank of America - The Champion of terrible customer service
Bank of America rightfully earned the title of the worst possible customer service pattern over the years. Unfortunately, the banking industry is an oligopoly legally protected by Law. There is no where to go and nothing that any of their account holders can do anything about it. They seem to operate at the lowest business level in a civilized world where the BOA conduct simply doesn’t add up to anything civilized.

Number one scam Bank
Worst bank ever. This bank should be shut down, they spend a fortune trying to put up fake reviews on other sites, trying to make themselves look good but anybody who's ever banked at Bank of America knows this is a scammer bank they scam you every way they can they will even pull money out of your account and then claim that it was spent by you or you'll make a deposit and they'll claim that only half the money ended up in your account because that's all you put in, and we're not talking a few dollars here we're talking tens of thousands will disappear. Try to close your account they never do they will keep the account open and keep charging you fees for having a zero balance and not say anything for like a year and then come back to you and say that you owe them $1,000 because you never officially closed your account. These guys are scammers they've always been, and they get a free ride from the government because they bought out Merrill Lynch when it was about to Crater, so the government is hands off and allows them to get away with this stuff. Don't believe there's zero so-called policy if a scammer hits your account it's actually them hitting your account and then they'll claim it wasn't a scam, they will never give you money they only take. This bank is a total fraud and needs to be shut down. If you have money in this Bank get it out now

If I could leave a zero rating..that's…
If I could leave a zero rating..that's what I would of rated them. Today March 2023, I had the worst experience on the phone. I was at the atm..trying to take money from my cc and put to my debit. Well, because it was a high amount it was declined because of unusual activity and I was to call them in order to unlock my card. When I got on the phone w/ a representative.. successfully confirmed my account then was put on hold. She kept coming back asking for my phone number. I had to repeat it about 5 times. Then put me hold.i kept asking if she was there..she would come back on and say she's waiting for a manager. Total wait time was about 50 minutes, finally I hung up hoping to get someone else. I did, verified my account again..Took approximately 15 min with this representative and I asked why is it taking so long and he said the manager is reviewing ur account. I told him just unlock it. I already verified everything..what is there to review. Then finally he told me it's OK on his end and told me that I would have to call fraud services now. After he calls me back to confirm my phone number. I called fraud services and they said that they would have to call me back to confirm. I am standing outside at a BOA ATM machine this whole time. And the representative told me she would call in 4 seconds. So my phone rings, and it was the 1st representative I spoke to. I couldn't believe it. If this wasn't a conspiracy then i dont know what is. Well she says she's gotta put me on hold.. Well I gave up, 3rd representative didn't call back til later on when I was napping and I can't get thru to them by phone cuz when I call and select a category the automative teller tells me "THANKS FOR CALLING, GOODBYE"

I have had several personal and business checking accounts with this company over the last 20 years. They are probably the worst company I have ever dealt with from a customer service perspective. Never ever will do business with them
I am deeply dissatisfied with Bank of America and will never ever consider doing business with them again. They abruptly closed my checking account and credit card without providing any justification, simply citing it as a "business decision." In the absence of any explanation, I am left with concerns that account is closed because my personal information may have been compromised and used for unauthorized purposes. It is imperative that I know the reason for the closure so that I can take necessary actions to protect myself and prevent any further misuse of my personal data. Furthermore This checking account was linked to dozens of other accounts, both for deposits and payments. As a result, I now have the arduous task of individually modifying all of these accounts. For years, I have utilized this checking account as an integral part of my daily routine. I never anticipated such abrupt action from the bank. it's not that I'm attached to Bank of America, it is inconvenient to switch to a different bank. The issue lies in their sudden abandonment of their responsibility towards me, as a customer. I believe that banks should not have the authority to unexpectedly terminate an account for "business decision" reasons. I sent a complaint Email to CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) and informed them about what happened.

Horrible about charges and service
I keep having bank of America decline charges for no reason at all because they say it could be fraud. Today they declined a recurring automatic charge for my auto insurance policy. This charge has been happening every month for well over a year. I called and reached the fraud dept. Once I verified the charge was fine, the lady (Megan in Florida) couldn't answer why they keep blocking charges. I asked for a supervisor. She said ok and put me on hold a few mins. Then came back saying your card is all ready to go thank you for using bank of america ... Trying to avoid giving me the supervisor she was going to get. So I asked again and she said that she couldn't help me and was going to disconnect the call. She hung up refusing to give me a supervisor. I'm tired of not being able to rely on this card because they block every other charge as possible fraud even though I have NEVER had a fraud charge since I got this card 3 years ago. I don't even want to use it because I end up having to waste time calling them to explain every other charge. None of my other cards block anything. So I want answers why they would block a long time recurring charge from a car warranty company... I doubt scammers are using cards to buy warranties on their real live cars.
