Also, please note that Kanguro does not have any affiliations with specific veterinarians or clinics. Even though coverage is only available to residents of the 17 U.S. states listed above, you can still get coverage if you’re visiting a vet clinic outside of these states. However, international coverage isn’t available.
Kanguro offers three levels of insurance plans: Basic, Plus, and Premier. While you get the same medications, procedures, and diagnostics covered with each plan, the annual limits, deductibles, and reimbursement percentages vary.

These rates are based on November 2022 premiums in Commerce City, Colorado. Quotes are subject to change and will differ based on location.
Kanguro does not cover the following conditions:
● Pre-existing conditions (This includes injuries or diseases that your pet has before you purchase a policy that are not already covered by Kanguro. Non-pre-existing conditions that develop after you purchase the policy will be covered.)
● Cosmetic surgery
● Supplements
● Routine wellness or preventative care
● Routine dental care
● Spaying or neutering
● Experimental procedures
● Breeding, pregnancy, or giving birth
There is a 14-day waiting period before all coverage is activated for accidents and illnesses and six months before knee coverage is activated. The preventative and wellness care package does not have a waiting period.

Claims and Customer Support
You can file a claim with Kanguro via the app. Here are the steps you need to take to file a claim:
Gather the finalized invoice and detailed medical records of your pet.
Submit the claim by logging into the Kanguro app. In the main dashboard where you log in, scroll down and select “claims.” Or, head to the coverage section, scroll down and select “claims.”
Speak to a customer service representative to answer any quick questions.
Upload photos if necessary.
You’ll then receive push notifications with updates on your claims. You can also log in to the app and use the claim tracker to follow the progress of your claim.
