Relay’s accounts come with several notable features that give it an advantage over traditional banks. It does not charge any checking account, overdraft, ATM, or minimum balance fees, nor does it require a minimum deposit to get started. Additionally, with access to up to 20 checking accounts and 50 physical or virtual debit Mastercards per account, Relay makes it easy for small businesses to share access and transfer funds.

Cutting-Edge Banking Services

Relay’s flexible access levels enable you to set up different logins for each user on your account and restrict their permission levels from read-only to full cash management. You can automate spending limits for team members and establish direct bank feeds to QuickBooks or Xero. 

Relay Pro members gain access to upgrades including automatic import and one-click reconciliation of bills in QuickBooks and Xero. Additionally, Relay Pro lets you schedule multi-step rules for bill payments and send international and domestic wires for free. 

Within its app, Relay makes it easy to send or receive payments via check, ACH, or wire. Its added security lets you freeze card transactions with the click of a button and review your transaction history quickly and easily.

Traditional Banking Services

Like most banks, Relay makes it easy for you to deposit, transfer, and manage your money. It offers mobile check deposits, ACH, and wire transfers through its app and provides free ATM withdrawals from 30,000 Allpoint ATMs nationwide. Deposits received via ACH or check are available within 1-2 days for Relay Standard users and same day for Relay Pro users. 

That said, Relay does not currently provide alternative banking services such as retirement accounts, mortgages, or loans.

Interest Rates and Fees

You can sign up for a free Relay Standard account or pay a monthly fee of $30 for a Relay Pro account. Accountants and bookkeepers can receive a discount of up to 27% through its Partner Program, based on the number of clients they have signed up with Relay. No matter what plan you choose, Relay does not charge any checking account, ATM, minimum balance, overdraft, or bounced check fees. However, deposits do not earn any interest, as its APY is 0.00%.

Relay’s customer experience team is available via phone from 9am-5pm ET, Monday-Friday. It also offers email support 7 days a week at support@relayfi.com. Outside of regular business hours, you can get guidance from Relay’s FAQs page. Mobile App

All Relay accounts receive FDIC insurance up to $2.5 million*. I am not based in the USA. When the internet was going to be launched I was very skeptical and angry this system was going to be introduced... mostly for the libraries. Today, if it wasn't for the internet I would not have found Relay, have a great experience with my onboarding, and fast customer reply services to all my questions. Unethical Bank
With too much hassles, I ended up closing my account. Suzie, an unprofessional onboarding specialist kept beating around the bush to avoid my direct questions about when Relay will return my remaining money. Be precautious when doing business with this bank. They try to hold you money at least 60 days.

Superb experience thus far with these guys at Relay Financial! I formally incorporated my biz a while back - and so far, despite me having initially chosen three banking partners to partner with - they're the only ones that I've stuck with - and would recommend to any startup or even a business beyond that level because these guys truly understand and know the perils, travails and challenges of running a nascent biz - especially financially - and their offerings avd service reflects it. Their customer service is superb ad well - they have always been very responsive and helpful every time Ive needed it - be that for any help - or even just to clarify normal doubts. My most recent experience with their customer service staff was with Abby who clarified my questions about their debit card perfectly and in a super friendly manner - thank you, Abby! You guys are f.ckinnnn headache. I have been calling you and emailing you guys back and forth for getting my cheques back. I got no call backs from you guys nor I have got my cheque. It's too much. I am preparing legal draft and sending it to your office. You sent the cheque and it bounced back and now I am not recieving any cheques. I will obviously spam it everywhere on twitter and every single platforms to stop people falling from this scam. Acc Email : emsdigitalm @ gm... Relay Financial will freeze your…
Do Not Use This Bank. Relay Financial will freeze your account and take forever to rectify the matter. If you deposit a check until they verify it they will freeze your accounts. They cater to small business but do not understand their customer. How is a small business suppose to function when you freeze accounts to verify a check? You hold the check and don't clear it until it's verified. Never have I heard a bank freezing all of your accounts to verify a check. In addition, my card was stolen. I provided the police report and information. They kept my account frozen for two weeks because they couldn't reach me mind you I emailed them the times they could call because that is what they asked for and would always call me an hour later or before the designated times. I am a medical provider and not always available. While profit first is trying to help you build your business, Relay financial is the in the business of obstructing that from happening. A small business cannot survive days or weeks with frozen accounts.

BEWARE!!! Stay AWAY
I made a check deposit from a company who paid for a service. Relay has forced me to send signed copies of invoices matching the check, they are now asking for information NOT pertinent to the transaction basically requiring non banking information and even after giving them everything I could they still hold my check up and now have frozen my account and card. This is completely unacceptable when dealing with a small business. Everything is above board and completely matches with my invoice yet this company feels they have the ability to require things outside of their per-view along with trying to force me to do things like make social media accounts that I don’t even need that represent my company. Please everyone stay far far away from this company!!! DO NOT USE THEM. UPDATE 11/28/23 Relay sent an email telling us to tell us the compliance team locked the account, froze all assets, forcibly closed the account and is holding the money for 60days. They won’t even give a reason why they did this. We have done nothing wrong. This was only the second deposit at this company!

Issue Corrected in Record Time
I had an issue with some of the technology with Relay, and the customer service rep (Michale B.), was very prompt in his response and very fast with the resolution to the issue. If every company had customer service like Relay Financial, we'd all be able to spend more time on our profit centers rather than chasing down gremlins. It’s really 0 Stars( Unehtical)
If I could put no stars I would. I had fraudulent charge in my Visa debit card with them. You can’t contact Relayfi you have call Visa. Called Visa, the closed out my card… Great… But Relayfi froze my whole account and sent an email saying it’s a temporary freeze for 3-5 days. That was on Nov 2. Here it is Nov. 17th and my account is still frozen. No one calls they only respond by email, and now asking for things that have nothing to do with. I would recommend if you can get a regular bank stay clear of this BS… I’m sending a complaint to the CFPB as well because this isn’t good.

The one cons that drives me insane is…
The one cons that drives me insane is the limits. Even the limit for an ACH transfer from/to my other accounts is extremely low to start with, and in order to increase it you have to deal with their extremely slow and inefficient staff, and show them all sorts of "documentation" to be able to send money to/from your own business account. It's also not like they can't see my previous transactions to confirm the volume of $$ the business handles, so I don't understand why they have to make their customer suffer. Also, if you need to pay with checks, I'd just get another bank account. You can't issue your own checks and have to instead let them send it for you and it takes more than a week for the recipient to get it.

So far- not good. Excessive verification of a small deposit to initially fund the account- and ZERO response to my request for a call back to get additional information about the status of my account before I connect it to an internet based business. I am thinking I will take my happy little *ss somewhere else! I don't NEED 50 debit cards. I need someone who returns calls. Also- who has EVER heard of a bank that has NO direct phone number(s) or even an address? If the situation changes, I will certainly update. UPDATE: 11/20 This company never did return my calls, but they DID email, and made the corrections needed so this account was usable and viable for business purposes. In my opinion, this rates high enough with me to give them a chance!

Relay Rocks!
I had a slight but annoying glitch while trying to respond to a text msg. from Relay Financial requesting that I set up a profile. I put off responding for a couple of days, and thus completing my signup, due to dreading the usual: bounced from specialist to specialist, dropped calls, on-holds, agents speaking in one indecipherable manner or another. And so on. So I gritted my teeth and clicked the link for support, expecting somebody to get around to helping me sometime before Christmas lol (it's Nov 14 today). Imagine my surprise and delight when Angie C.'s email showed up five (!!) minutes later, with a link and precise instructions on how to resolve my glitch. Everything went slick as could be from then on, and wow am I ever impressed with Angie C...and Relay. Thanks, guys! Rich W.

I can't accses my funds, and support hasn't replied in days, despite multiple emails sent.
I can't accses my funds, and support hasn't replied in days, despite multiple emails sent. I started my new LLC, got a Relay Financial account, and setup was easy. Then I got locked out because I flew to a different state. Support was quick to reply and unlock it. I was pleased with the fast support. I transferred money in with an ACH -- *Be aware that unless you're paying for their premium service, it takes 3 days for your ACH to arrive. I was displeased having my money be in limbo for 3 days, but then it arrived and the debit cards - physical and virtual - which I activated are now displayed as Frozen. I clicked on Unfreeze, and get the message that they will be instantly unfrozen. They are not unfrozen, and I've tried unfreezing them many times. I tried creating new Virtual Cards, and that did not work. I got an error every time. It's now Monday, and I have not been able to use my funds since I opened my account over a week ago. 3-4 days for the ACH to come in - and then 5 days since the ACH arrived. Thursday afternoon I tried calling and the recording said that office hours are closed, but email support is open until 9pm. I emailed support on Thursday at 7pm and got no reply. I replied to that email multiple times over the weekend and got no reply. I sent a brand new email on Saturday, and I got a reply on Sunday telling me that my query is being forwarded to the compliance team since this is not the experience they want their clients to have. I had to pay for my expenses from my old company's account, because I can't access the funds that I have in my RelayFinancial account. I pleaded in my emails for support, as I had urgent expenses that needed to be paid, and that's the entire point of having a bank account- is to have somewhere to pay from. I am sure that they will eventually unfreeze my cards- but I think I need to open up another account with another bank. It is extremely dangerous and embarassing not being able to access your funds when you need- and so far I've not been able to access my funds at all.

Judging by the good reviews for RelayFi on this site, they must do certain things well for certain types of customers. For me, they could not have been worse and I am shutting down my account. They send you emails that wires transfers "have been sent" when they have not been sent and often get kicked back by compliance. They don't give you notice that the wires have not been sent for sometimes over a week. As a result of this, I have breached a contract several times for failure to make timely payment. All they do is send you emails asking for egregious levels of information, then fail to reply for several more days. They don't call to ask you what they need and make sure the payment get initiated on time. And MOST IMPORTANTLY, they say they offer phone support. THIS IS A LIE. They have a support number that simply puts you on hold indefinitely until it hangs up on you. The voice greeting says "We usually answer calls in under 5 minutes". That is not an exaggeration. It's a complete fabrication. I have called them 10x since I've been a customer. I HAVE NEVER ONCE GOTTEN A HUMAN ON THE PHONE.

Cut of my account without providing reason
I recently bought a fairly large business with four separate locations. I went to set up the profit first system with them and spent a couple thousands dollars with my accountants getting my how banking strategy in place. About 2 weeks in, I initiated a request to raise my deposit limit so that I could deposit a working capital check from my lender. I provided all appropriate information. Then out of the blue, they informed me that they no longer wanted to service my account because of a compliance review, and I needed to transfer funds out immediately. They refused to talk to me or provide any specific reason why they wish to discontinue services and left me and my wife scrambling to change everything at the drop of a hat. We reached out to multiple people throughout the company but did not hear back from anyone. Hope most have different experiences.
