Relay Pro members gain access to upgrades including automatic import and one-click reconciliation of bills in QuickBooks and Xero. Additionally, Relay Pro lets you schedule multi-step rules for bill payments and send international and domestic wires for free. 

Within its app, Relay makes it easy to send or receive payments via check, ACH, or wire. Its added security lets you freeze card transactions with the click of a button and review your transaction history quickly and easily.

Traditional Banking Services

Like most banks, Relay makes it easy for you to deposit, transfer, and manage your money. It offers mobile check deposits, ACH, and wire transfers through its app and provides free ATM withdrawals from 30,000 Allpoint ATMs nationwide. Deposits received via ACH or check are available within 1-2 days for Relay Standard users and same day for Relay Pro users. 

That said, Relay does not currently provide alternative banking services such as retirement accounts, mortgages, or loans.

You can sign up for a free Relay Standard account or pay a monthly fee of $30 for a Relay Pro account. Accountants and bookkeepers can receive a discount of up to 27% through its Partner Program, based on the number of clients they have signed up with Relay. No matter what plan you choose, Relay does not charge any checking account, ATM, minimum balance, overdraft, or bounced check fees. However, deposits do not earn any interest, as its APY is 0.00%.

Relay’s customer experience team is available via phone from 9am-5pm ET, Monday-Friday. It also offers email support 7 days a week at support@relayfi.com. A truly remarkable service!
When I was referred to use this company's services, I did some digging, and there was not enough to set it apart from others offering the same service. The word "free" usually means a red flag, but I was mistaken. Relay provides a fantastic set of services. From set up to completion, Daniel M and the support team regularly emailed me with helpful advice and guidance and helped me activate my account in 10 days. They seem organized and able to respond to queries and advice to streamline their processes. I am happy to be accepted to their client list.

You can talk to real people
It's great that I can call Relay financial and speak to a human being. Their chat function is also great, because you can reach a real person in real time during business hours. The representatives are professional, knowledgeable, and very responsive. They take my concerns seriously and treat me like a valued customer.

Relay, an inexpensive online bank, lacking customer service
Generally speaking Relay is great in theory, but in practice there are a lot of kinks that need to be worked out. Firstly, the bank doesn't accept international wires, they say they do, but multiple times when trying to let clients pay me, the money is never received and so we needed to open a large bank to receive wires specifically. Secondly, their customer service is slow to non-existent. I waited 30 minutes to talk to someone on the phone who sounded like he just woke up (at 10:30 AM on a Thursday). He didn't offer a solution to my issue and the overall attitude of this company is to get things done in the next 'day or 2,' which for those of us running fast-paced businesses isn't always good enough. Thirdly, they changed their whole banking system that required changing debit cards, and bank accounts, which is a serious disruption to general operations should you have multiple cards in circulation with global teams. Relay is great in that it is inexpensive, low fees online bank, but like anything cheap, be ready to pay the price in other ways. I wish they took customer service more seriously.

Money was taken out of my account…
Money was taken out of my account fraudulently. They told me their official policy is to refund the money within 90 days. After 90 days had passed, I emailed them for updates. They never responded. So I called their office twice; they told me they would get back to me by the end of the day. I never heard back from them so I called again a few days later; they again said they would get back to me. It has now been two weeks and I have still have not heard anything. The entire experience has been incredibly unprofessional. This is not the first time I have had an issue with them. Every time I need something to get done it takes them weeks to respond and they never follow through. If you own a business- do not use relay; their slow response rate will put every thing you have to do on hold.

Finally found a good business banking partner!
I’ve been through three different banks to find one that was perfect for running my business, and finally found that with Relay! I love the ease of use, the ability to set up multiple accounts within the same master account, and the speed with which my payments go through when transferring money out for payroll. And all with no fees! It’s been a fantastic experience so far!

Good for international clients
Hello, I studied in the USA and moved to my country in Africa afterwards. I recently opened an LLC in the USA, and wanted a good financial service to work with. I have used other banks before such as Bank of America, chase and other big names out there. If your service is at advertised, you would be having the best in the industry especially to international clients who will need to wire money every now and then. By looking at your wire fees($10) is relatively cheap compared to others that charge a whooping $50 for the same service. I am just waiting for my company formation to be done, then apply for the EIN and come open the account with you. However, I read some reviews that said their accounts were blocked and couldn’t access their funds, this made me afraid, but I am still willing to give you a shot.

What made my experience great was Simon. Despite calling daily for 2 weeks straight, I was having trouble activating my accounts. 5 or 6 people assured me they would get my situation resolved, even promising to call me back with confirmation. This unfortunately never happened. No resolve & no call backs. Eventually I lucked out & Simon picked up willing to help. He did exactly as he said he would, even calling me back just to let me know things were being worked on & resolve should be soon. He got it all taken care of. 10/10

Relay is a great online bank that is meeting my expectations. I love that I can have multiple bank accounts under 1 umbrella and my accounts do not have a minimum balance. The customer service is also really through and professional I highly recommend to business owners.

RELAY Fi RUNNING A WHOLE MIDDLEMAN SCAM
So this is why they are trying to change their name from RelayFinancial to RelayFi... for a fresh start and to run from these horrible reviews! Well I'm also an unsatisfied client. Also locked my account for no reason and telling me they won't be giving my money back for 2 months. They are NOT a bank, tho they pretend to be one. Evolve is actually the bank they are acting as a middleman for. And I can't believe our lawyers suggested these cats. They are in Canada and therefore have that Sovereignty presumption going on, assumed insulation from the world. But I will discourage small business owners from doing business with these dudes till the day I die. They took my money, interrupted my business, and totally did a disservice representing themselves as a bank. Thumbs down everyday. If you're looking to correct your business with RelayFi...If you’re like me, and if RelayFi (Relay Financial) has exercised poor and unfair banking practices against you, its time to file a complaint against RelayFi their for poor business practices so that others do not become victims of this scam that serves to hurt entrepreneurs and SMBs (Small Businesses). First, you can contact the bank's customer service department and voice your concerns. If the issue is not resolved to your satisfaction, you must then file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) by visiting their website, www consumerfinance gov/complaint, or by calling 1-855-411-2372. Additionally, you may consider contacting your state's attorney general office, who may also have authority to investigate bank practices. Remember, RelayFi is not a bank, but they operate like one. The actual banking institution is Evoolve. Evolve Bank & Trust is Relay’s partner bank, they handle the core banking tasks created within Relay.  Evolve Bank & Trust has been around since 1925 and is based out of Tennessee. They are FDIC Insured and so they have way more compliances they must hold to. RelayFi is the new kid on the block, already with poor customer experiences, and they are also based in Canada, which likely gives them a feeling of sovereignty and insulation. I’m feeling that fighting thru Evolve is the best bet for resolutions. Over time, Evolve reps will grow tired and frustrated from phone calls. I will return with an update. I'm normally not one to give one star…
I'm normally not one to give one star reviews as most businesses are doing SOMETHING right, but the only thing I can think of that's gone right so far is that the application process was rather quick. To me, that doesn't exactly deserve a star as they're a bank, and I have yet to experience banking. To begin, I promptly attempted to fund my account which they informed me would take 2-5 business days. The next day, I get no notification, but noticed in my account that the transaction switched from "pending" to "returned." I don't know what this means, did not get an email or any kind of notification about this or what next steps are, so I emailed them to ask about it. Two days later, I get an email saying that my account has been locked. Quote from the email as follows: "We really appreciate your business to date but unfortunately, effective today, we are no longer able to service your business. Your account has been locked by our compliance team. This is most often due to concerns around or transactions in Relay, or with the documentation for or the nature of the business." No explanation, no next steps, and still no response to my original email. So I try calling them, but they only operate 9-5 eastern time. I try calling again today when they're open, they offer a call-back option. I am called back 30 minutes later, and hung-up on before I could even answer my phone. I waited a minute to see if they accidentally hung up and would call me back, but nope! So I go online to search the reviews, and most of the 1 stars are relatively recent. They don't seem interested in my business, so I think it's time to look elsewhere. Pretty bummed as I feel like my time was very wasted on this company. I'm trying to get up and going!! I recommend going elsewhere if you want someone to take your business as serious as you are.

A Very Positive Experience
Recently opened an account with Relay on a series llc. Very easy and straightforward. I had a question regarding mobile deposits and the use of Zelle or similar. Response was quick and thorough. Easy to deal with customer service. Easy to get set up. Multiple checking accounts under each business to allow for taxes, profit first etc. multiple businesses with one log in and same day (not instant) ACH transfers between each. Low fees. Can’t recommend enough.

They went out of their way to communicate with a third party payroll company in order to get me validated with that company as I’m using Relay for the payroll account. They were helpful, signed verification documents, and made sure to call and speak with the payroll company to complete the process for me. They were nice and cooperative the whole time!

Relay is perfect for SME. My somewhat complicated company is extremely well equipped to do business. Clients and vendors love us, and my team loves me. Everything is fast. Account Management is a joy. The fact I just used the word "joy" for a bank has never happened in my life nor career. But Relay is a joy. Support has been awesome. I have never been left waiting, in the lurch, or held hostage or slowed. I cannot imagine if I did not have Relay as a key part of my company. I'm done. I can't take this anymore. They lie about updates, FORCED ME TO CHANGE ALL OF MY BANK ACCOUNT NUMBERS. Have taken weeks to open up a single ticket on one of the many bugs I've been having. For starters, I have payments stuck in queue where I CAN'T ACCESS MY OWN FUNDS and neither can the person I'm trying to pay. This bank technology is a total fraud. They clearly updated from 1.0 to 2.0 using a cheaper banking system in the back end because everything is so much slower now. Take a look at the CEO's history. He doesn't know what he's doing and he's damaging our businesses in the process.

Really terrible customer service & glitchy platform.
Really terrible customer service! We had a ton of issues opening our account. Onboarding was horrible. It took over a month with constant checking in to see what the deal was. So many tech errors on their site. Unable to reset passwords, getting errors anytime we would try to upload documents. When we applied they also told us there was an error on the site where all of the documents went missing. When we FINALLY got onboarded our address on our account was wrong, and there was a random phone number on our account that belonged to no one at the company. Reached out to have it updated. Was told it was corrected. It still was not corrected. Because the address was wrong the debit card got sent to the wrong place. Reached out again to have it fixed and was told they would work on it and got zero follow up or follow through. Still have an incorrect address and phone number on file. When I reached out to them to close my account I mentioned that we can't seem to get these issues corrected and they literally didn't care whatsoever. I wouldn't trust a bank that can't get an address or phone number correct and then cannot update it with my money.

Great bank for everything except instant payments (no zelle). However their customer service is good, the banking is cost effective and good value. Its really easy to send wires, open accounts and do transfers. I just wish for zelle and also higher limits on check deposits and debit card transactions

IT'S A TRAP, WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER, MUST READ FOR ALL BUSINESSES
IT'S A TRAP, I SWEAR DON'T EVER DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE, They give in the beginning the best customer experience to make you trust them and then out of a sudden they were sending me too much emails and calling regarding an upgrade which is changing all account numbers and information, which is something I don't mind but kinda fishy! And then out of a sudden without notifying me, the decided to close my account, hold my funds of $40,000 for 60 days and I don't even know when will they give back, they told me everything is okay and you can send international wires and all is good and then baaamm!!! Account blocked due to a breach of terms!! I ask them about what did I do! They say we don't have further information! And they refuse to get in touch and they reply emails in more than a week now, but when it was time to upgrade, 100s of people were calling from relay! Everybody beware it's a trap and they will freeze your money and your account for no reason. Worst customer experience I ever went through in my life cause why would you allow anything on your APPLICATION designed by YOU!!!! to cause a breach in any kinda rules or terms!!! , if your business is sensitive, those are not the people to rely on.

Completely unreliable
At a first glance Relay seems like a great business bank. They have the ability to do same day ACH transfers and you can create multiple accounts with different cards if you need to give your employees their own card for corporate spending. In practice, this bank is awful. Their services rarely work as they are supposed to. Our same day ACH transfers only sometimes went through the same day, with no rhyme or reason as to why they often would not. Relay often tried to blame the other banks but this was clearly an issue on their end as the first time it happened they admitted it was their fault and then later claimed they had released the funds (though multiple other banks did not receive them, often until days later). The same thing would happen when receiving our settlement. We would get notice that the funds had been sent to Relay early in the morning, and then the funds would not be released to us sometimes until 11 o'clock at night. We never had this issue when using Novo to receive settlements and will now be moving our settlements back over there. Initially when we would contact customer service about these problems, they would contact us back very quickly, but as time went on and these problems happened again and again and again, they stopped responding. At one point we did not hear back from customer service until an entire week after we had sent a message about this issue. I do not recommend this bank for any type of business transactions or paying your employees because it is not reliable at all. If you need multiple cards that would be the only thing that seems to be beneficial about using them and the only thing we will use them for in the future.

Relayfi is just waou
Waou, what to say, relayfi is the 5 stars business-class banking experience. Their banking services is a model for all old school banks on many views : - amazing quality of service - 5 stars support (especially Kevin, always available to find solutions and options to help customers, I was impressed) - competitiveness - amazing banking infrastructure (i'm banking with mercury since 2 years but relayfi's partnership with currency cloud limited gives them far more international paying options (higher limits, quick payments...) After 15 years of business banking with dozens of banks, I must confess that relayfi banking experience exceeded all my expectations. Thank you guys for your disruptive and excellent service.

Not a bank, and doesn't operate like one either
A first we thought they were great. But then the verification process with our primary bank took nearly a week, while other companies take about 10 minutes. Poor customer support, they don't reply to support emails, they make electronic mistakes with your account then don't own up to it by trying to blame you and the online merchant, investigations simply don't happen, "supervisors" don't return calls. This results in hours of your wasted time and delays, along with wondering when they are going to fold and make off with everyone's money. By the way, ACH delays accumulate into big dollars for them from the interest. Having seen so many fails in a short time here, we are looking into ratings for other checking account / debit card financial institutions.

Amazing
Amazing. Simply amazing. No fees at all. I have the $30 a month package which means no fees for international wires, ACH transfers, and more! Great, simple, computer interface. FINALLY banking and managing my finances makes sense. SO glad I switched. It wouldn't be stretching the truth to say this bank changed my life. The multiple accounts/buckets/envelopes keep my money separated yet easy to see at the same time. I put everything into my "income" account, then by percentage move it all to my other accounts/buckets/envelops like "Operating Expenses" "Taxes" "Profit" "Owner's Comp" "LOC Payoff". So beautifully and simply organized. Now, when I look at my bank account first thing in the morning, I don't see one pile of money and try to figure out what goes where. Instead, I see all my money, separated where it belongs, and I know what I can use to pay bills, I'm saving for taxes and paying off my LOC and finally -regularly paying myself. You can add up to 20 buckets. Save for a car, piece of equipment, other loans, whatever. Again, SO simple. THIS is the future of banking. No doubt. I cut my $200/$400 a month banking fees to $30. Amazing.

Stay away from Relay
Relay is completely justified in asking for more and more personal documentation during new customer onboarding but it would be better for them to just be transparent about everything they will ask for to enable the customer to decide before application if its easier to just go to their local bank instead of Relay. Wish I had found reviews of Relay on this website sooner.

They are forcing people to "upgrade" or shut their accounts down, which basically means hours of resetting all of the direct deposit accounts, automations, that have been laboriously been established, and setups. Any "savings" are completely outweighed by the hours of labor that are being required to change to the new system. I don't have time for this. Additionally, the new routing numbers for their "Thread bank" has appeared to be rejected by one of my financial institutions as "not a valid ACH."

Seems more like a scam than a bank
Relay continually asked me for more and more personal information (enough to clone my identity) and then told me they can't service my account anymore. I told them to close my account and delete my information on 11/20. I received a response back that the account had been closed but they are unable to delete my information. Twice this week, including today (11/30), I have received text messages asking for more information. Information that was earlier submitted and verified. The amount of personal (not business) information requested makes me afraid that I am being scammed.

I'm in deep love with RelayFi
I'm in deep love with RelayFi. I've had many banks, but none have been able to provide so many features for my business so well and so easily. On top of that, they actually have great customer support! I've been using Relay for over 2 years now and can't wait to see what's coming from them next! They do have one of the more strange sign-up processes, requiring a video confirming you are who you say you are and asking for proof of your business’ online presence. It only took us maybe an hour after completing their documents and we were up and running. We haven’t had a single problem since switching from our old bank, Truist, to RelayFi. I was a little taken off guard by the Relay 2.0 upgrade which changes your account number and routing number, because our business has so many things linked to it. When I read that because of this change, we are finally going to be able to write our own checks, I realized it was worth the shift. We are a property management company, and our only pain point with Relay has been not being able to write our own checks. We’ve always been able to have Relay mail a check, but sometimes we need something instantly and are forced to go get a money order. We’re never going to have to do that again!

DO NOT BANK WITH RELAY FINANCIAL They are forcefully requiring all bank accounts to switch from their "1.0" to their "2.0". I have had this bank for a few years and have to make this switch. I now have to manually update all my subscriptions and inform my clients that they, too, have to do more work switching my account numbers around. Find another bank. I hear Novo is good. When is this going to change again, causing the same issues? "3.0" in the next year? "4.0" the year after? This is completely unprofefssional.

Top notch customer service
Relay's customer's service has been top notch. It's clear that this is a software company as every aspect seems optimized. For example, phone calls are immediately given the option to get a callback, saving time on the phone. You can even give feedback on feature improvements directly to the customer support agent and they actually follow up with their team instead of being ignored like other banks.

If it wasn't for Kevin W....I would leave Relay
I initially had a very negative experience. The live chat was not helpful, and despite calling and leaving voicemails I was unable to get a callback. However, things turned around when Kevin W began helping me. He deserves 5 stars! He was very professional and genuinely seemed to care! My suggestion is to grow a bigger team that can handle the call demand as well as create a real live chat (not bot chat) because that would make customers feel more secure in their ability to receive help.

BANK ACCOUNT REJECTED
Good evening to all. This bank was recommended to me by TRUIC as the best for non US residents with an LLC registered in the US. I have provided all the necessary documents, filled in all the required parameters. My country of origin is eligible, my documents valid, but despite all this and without any major reason I was rejected without explanation. I am forced to stop my project because this bank does not want me. I am very hurt and I have lost everything.

Loving it so far, but there’s just ONE thing!
Loving it so far as I’m just setting up my accounts and will be full swing by next month. I just wish I could instantly transfer money into my account using PayPal, Stripe, and Zelle. Waiting days is just not what I’m used to because most banks have instant transfer functionality.

Application process is ridiculously intrusive. How is a video of me saying I want an account necessary? Then, apparently my video led them to further requests - Facebook and LinkedIn profiles? Bank Statements? Customer invoices? I can't believe the reviews that said that the application process was fast and easy - other than that maybe their videos proved them to be younger and/or better looking than me. Is this a modeling agency or a financial service? What would they want next? And this is so THEY can provide ME a service? Well, I don't need ANY service this badly! Finally, and quite interestingly, their app with Quickbooks Online does not accept any reviews without having a current bank connection to an active account with them - is it any wonder they have a 4.8 star rating there?

Took them 2 weeks to try to verify me. I uploaded the same documents for one account which they flagged as invalid that worked for the first account. There is no phone number on the website and they are still in beta. Their idea of compliance verification was to ask for my social media and or website, that was what held up my account set up for 2 weeks. There is intelligent verification and there is unintelligent. HORRIBLE and WORST experience EVER! If you are considering Relay because of low or no fees, it's not worth it if you can not access any of the money for your business. Relay has frozen multiple accounts because they do not understand why my company received what they consider a large check. It is reasonable to question or have a longer hold on a large check but to completely lock all my business account, including those not associated with the check, is bad banking. Relay has blocked us from transacting and at the same time make it difficult to connect with someone is not acceptable. Relay has a very limited staff that execute poor business practices. The person blocking the money is not responding. Kevin is the only contact and has caused additional confusion. I don't even know if the other people referenced by Kevin are real. So fellow business owners, the negative reviews are REAL! Relay responds to the negative reviews with a generic message referring people back to the same e-mail address so they can help which is not a true solution and only gives the appearance of attempting to help for those who do not know any better. We are going back to our original bank and paying their fees because it is clear that there is a even bigger price to pay with Relay. We have tons of damage control we now have to do with our business partners as they won't even let us transfer our money out. We take pride in the quality of service we provide as a company and Relay has temporarily tarnished it. Hopefully you are reading this review because you are doing your due diligence and will not partner with this company. The executives do not even help. DON'T DO IT! I hope this review helps you.

They froze my account with $43k balance…
They froze my account with $43k balance and caused automatic payments to be returned. I have an obligation to tenants to provide heat and electricity, and they are making this almost impossible. I started using relay for a couple months. I thought they were great because I could create multiple accounts and separate income and expenses fromm several rental properties. Then, after I deposited a check, their "backend" department froze my account and asked for a signed contract to go with the check. I did not have a signed contract, only an unsigned PDF of an invoice. They did not accept that, so I got my client to sign the invoice, and I signed as well. They then asked for emails from my client..... I do not know where it will end, and I don't have any clue why they froze the account, or how I conduct business in a way to avoid this in the future. Meanwhile, my account has been frozen for half a month and I have had rental deposits returned, water, gas and electricity payments bounce. You should stay away from this bank.

This is just what I was needing
This is just what I was needing! First, customer service is on point, got my issues answered and solved by the same person. No waiting to get the owner until someone is able to help you. You ALL know what I mean. As a small business owner is hard to track everything, can't hire a person to that yet. But with Relay I can have separate accounts for different clients and keep track of all of it. I also love how I can issue cards to different people and I don't have to send them to give their life story to the FBI before they get approved (I know I'm exaggerating, but it feels that way with other banks). On top of all of the other wonderful features they have for a single monthly payment! In short, if you're not using Rely, you either don't know about it, or what's wrong with you?
