The credit builder app is garbage
The credit builder app is garbage, i had my paycheck direct deposited on it, out of thin air my credit builder account was closed along with 1,400 on my account, now i have to wqit 30 days for a xheck to be mailed to me with no notofication of any problems, do not bank with these people at all. I am done with chime I have my rent and bills to pqy and all my mo ey is on hold. Terrible place to be in with kids. I will never deal with them again idk how i am goin to pay my bills now, me and my kids may get evicted behind this.

CHIME IS AWFUL - DO NOT USE
You have to deposit your work payroll checks to get credit. You cannot get your card activated until you go through a 40 minute customer service call. It’s the worst customer service ever. Absolutely WORTHLESS. DO NOT USE CHIME

Chime will not accept deposits. How can you be a bank and not accept deposits? Twice I have tried to deposit very legitimate checks and Chime has rejected them. Just spent two hours on the phone trying to resolve. They can't give me a reason except "internal error." Moving on to another bank ...

They are a bunch of crooks at Chile they stole 930.00 fro. Me. I was scammed I filed a dispute explaining the issue even filed a police report they still denied my dispute. The same thing happened to 2 others 864.00 and 1300.00 dollars. They refused to refund the money back. I filed a freaking police report their so called dispute team does not care. I'm left without any money. Think twice about getting an account with them. I'm going with a new bank. I hope alot of people read this. I'm going to put it to chime. They want to screw people well see how they like it when I post a review in every website I can.. they are a fuckjng joke. I hope someone high up from Chime see s what I'm posting. Not stopping I'm given my back thar Chime Stole from. Me. Yall are a bunch of theives.. I still have not had my money returned back to my account. They continue to stall. A person used there Chime logo and provided a number for people to call with an 888 number on a website called Down Detector. People were having issues with their direct deposits. Said his name was James from Chime Support. Naturally I thought he was trying to help me but that's not the case. I sent all this information to their so called Investigation team with Chime along with a police report number. You would think that would have some red flags go off. They confirmed it was there logo but no one would like this on a website like that. This person committed a crimeof fraud. Why is there anything else to wait for? Still here without 930.00 back in my account. Instead I get punished by Chime saying I allowed them in my account. Well yes i thought he was from Chime Support I continue trying to explain this. Still getting the run around. I even sent them a screen shot. So until they do the right thing and return my money I will be posting this wherever I can. Chime is committing a crime by holding my money.. Especially if it'd someone that used their logo. Nothing back from their Investigation team at all. It's like they went quite. Then I'm getting this BS information that they until 3/30 to decide if they want to issues temporary funds back to my account until resolved This has not happened either. I would rather think about it hard. Why would anyone want to join a bank with no Integrity. They have no concern what so ever for their customers. Any other bank like Chase, Capital One, Bank of America if this situation arises with a customer they would have returned the money back to that customers account. Conduct a full investigation on their end to find out who this person is thar used their logo. Chime is bunch of theieves I can't pay any of my bills 930 is alot of money. Turn the other way go with another bank that had Integrity when it comes to their customers. Chime sure as hell doesn't. I will continue posting this every where customers can see it until your so called Investigation team returns my money. I really hope someone at Chime gets in touch with a higher up to get this resolved until then Chime is screwing themselves

First let me say I love the checking…
First let me say I love the checking and savings aspect of it. I love that I get paid earlier than with a brick and mortar bank. I love that I can withdraw $1300 a day with is way more than any regular bank. I love that I can turn my card on and off and the spot me has helped me a few times. Where it went wrong is when I signed up for the credit builder account. It never once improved my credit in fact was the only reason that made it drop significantly a few times. They constantly reported wrong information to the credit companies. First it brought it down every time I put money in my credit builder by reporting my balance increased bringing down my score 78 points. Safe credit building was always on which means everything I spent from there is automatically Paid off every month and yet I continued to see a decline in my score. I canceled my credit account and my score immediately rose back to goid standing. They report the wrong information to the credit companies so avoid it. It never once in 2 years helped my credit. It only ever brought my score down. So that's all, I love the checking and savings accounts but the credit builder is trash avoid it at all cost. It's not just my experience, there is an entire Reddit thread of people they did the same thing to.

I recently signed up with chime I had my first direct deposit I seem to have been going through my money quicker than I was spending it I noticed that purchases were being charged to my account and I didn't know where my money was going I spent two and a half hours on the phone with chime customer service one who just spoke very little English except just keep saying me don't worry don't worry my money was missing and they were allowing whomever to charge $1.99 fees in excess of 60 of them to my card without my knowledge and paying them without my approval I now have to wait for the complaint process but it took me two and a half hours to file with them on the phone I still have not been told exactly how much money is missing off my account they say the purchases for Google play were charged to my account for like games I don't play games on my phone I don't even mind my credit card number was new I had my very first deposit put on there for my child support and I didn't I don't buy online I don't play games I'm 58 years old now they've canceled my card to reissue me a new one and told me I can follow my revenge process online but since they've canceled my card I can't access my Google mobile app for chime so I have no idea when I'll see my money if I'll see my money but they want to issue me a new card for what there's only two people who had access to my my card number that was the people who issued it chime and myself when I got it if I'm complaining I don't have my money then I either chime is a fraud app who just steals people's money and they take it a $1.99 each purchase or withdrawal so that it's a minimum amount but they do so many that it adds up I think time is bogus I can't think chime steals people's money and I wouldn't trust it to save my child's life

Then I got some bull crap email saying I can request the documents as to how they determined there was no error they say occured with my account therefore they will be keeping my 930.00 all the money I had the scammer took. They would not even issue me temporary funds immediately until it was determined the out come. Chime missed with the wrong customer. I've been banking with 'Chime' SINCE 2017
I've been banking with 'Chime' since 2017. This will be the 3rd time that my 'direct deposit' didn't come through by friday before 4am. However, Chime says that you will get direct deposit 2 days early of which is a lie!!! I have NEVER received my direct deposit 2 days early! (NEVER!) So, I'm not sure why they keep advertising it that it does. (False Advertisement!) AND, they want you to give 'tip?!?' NOPE! Give me my DD early like you are stating that is guaranteed to receive?? I would do research before investing your money/direct deposit into 'CHIME!' FALSE ADVERTISEMENT AND FALSE 2-DAYS EARLY!

This is the worst company I've ever…
This is the worst company I've ever dealt with! I've only had the account with them for one month and have had several issues from them limiting the withdrawal of my own money from $75 a day, to $60 a day, down to $40!!! What in the world can I get with $40?? After being fed up and trying to get the remainder of the amount owed to me in full, they Closed my account!!!! I've been trying almost 2 weeks to get my last $109 out with no luck. I hate this company!!! They should be Closed immediately!!!

Unable to access - Incompetent Customer Service
As a result of my account being hacked, Chime required me to verify my identity. I just needed to send my driver's license and selfie. Easy enough right? Wrong. I tried for two days and continually received errors. I contacted support via email and phone for a total of FIVE times. It was a task to even get them to understand the issue. I even sent screenshots. Keep in mind, I'm unable to access my account this entire time. I was so frustrated, I just wanted to take my money and close my account but I can't access!! The only thing I know to do is withdraw my daily max every day until I have gotten all my money!!

My card got debited by a company I did…
My card got debited by a company I did not know so I contacted Chime and they canceled my card and told me that they would send me out a new one within 7 to 10 days. That was like six months ago! Just received my card today, but you know what I already opened up a bank account with an actual bank, and stopped all my direct deposits from going into Chime, because I had no access to my money to be able to pull any of it out because I didn’t have a debit card! I couldn’t get money orders to pay my rent, I couldn’t get cash out nothing! It’s been a damn nightmare dealing with Chime. Last week I got a random email saying that I ordered a card, I ordered card over six months ago not last week! Don’t bank with Chime, not having access to your money when you need it is absolutely terrifying and they cannot get their cards out within 7 to 10 business days like they promised. I would’ve even excepted two weeks with it being at the end of the year and holidays were coming around but no six months it took to get my damn card. I opened it up took a pair of scissors and cut it right in half because as I said, I already got a new bank.

I hope CHIME OWNER SEES THIS:: 3/15/2023-- A BUNCH OF THEIVES : If you want to get an account with Chime think twice. I got scammed 930.00 out of my checking account the guy said he we was from Chime had a phone number and everything. Was having issues with my direct deposit not getting in my account. Said his name was James. Said he was from Tech Support so naturally I thought he worked for chime. He had me access an app called ANYDESK from the play store. He was able to get into my account. New exactly the places to maneuver. I thought he was fixing my issue. Didn't think anything bad. He said to put in an email address where you send someone money- Like a transfer. Well I did it. He had me put 2 amounts in. Click submit. I thought he was testing my account. He told me wait 30 minutes and I should finally see my deposit. That never happened. I called Chime explained the situation to them and they said because I authorized the transfer they cant help me. This scammer took $930.00 from my account. I filed a police report immediately. Called CHIME SUPPORT They opened a dispute. The were supposed to put in a temporary credit of 930.00 until my dispute was resolved. I get a reply back the same DAY.. . They STOLE MY MONEY- and refused to put back in my account even after explaining the situation to them.. Even after I filed a police report. They wont help you.. This the letter they sent me. I rebutted this dispute had a police report filed right away they still denied my dispute and KEPT MY 930.00. All because of a transfer that was not my fault I thought the guy name James was trying to help me- AGAIN THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU THEY DONT CARE. EVEN AFTER I FILED A POLICE REPORT- THEY ARE THEIVES. Everyonee needs to cancel their services.. They will not help you either... Even with a police report.. Very disappointed.. I WANT CHIME TO KNOW I WILL BE POSTING THIS REVIEW EVERYWHERE I CAN. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE SUED
THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE SUED. I’m basically copying and pasting another user’s review like 10 below mine because I’m having the exact same experience. Here goes: Someone opened an account in my name using my SSN. I personally don’t bank with Chime (nor will I…). Thank god, I get alerts for this stuff. I reported the fraud in less 2 hrs of the account being opened. It’s been a hellish ordeal since. Chime cares nothing of security. I’ve called 4 times apresst and sent 5 emails with most going unanswered or they don’t answer my question adequately. I get the same useless response on the phone and no one has a boss or higher up you can talk to. I feel like I’m talking to an AI computer bot or a training manual speaking human because all of the agents say the same responses. They out source all calls overseas and it’s one department fits all.

If there was 0 before 1 then that's what chime would get, because they are all connected chime app,Dave app, there's a couple more that all comes back to Sutton bank and if they ask you to link a account in order to open a different online banking account don't do it because that's there of keeping your money especially money that got deposited into a account in March 2021 but you didn't find out until December 2021 that you had a big deposit deposited into your account and when you are finally able to access your account chime said you spent it well there's no way even if you're accounts are linked you still have to transfer funds in order for you to spend them,I could go on ,on about chimes honesty,but I don't see them having any .All I ask them for was my 1400.00 stimulus check and as bad as everyone needed that money chime thinks they have found away to keep mine .To date I still haven't received my 1400 dollar stimulus check that everyone needed badly and still do I haven't received it yet.

Fraud Account Opened at a Fraud of a Bank
Someone opened an account in my name using my ssn. When reported and requested information it was a long, horrible, multiple call, multiple email ordeal. Chime cares nothing of security. I’ve called 6 times and sent 5 emails with most going unanswered. I get the same useless response on the phone and no one has a boss or higher up you can talk to. I feel like I’m talking to an AI computer bot or a training manual speaking human because all of the agents say the same responses. Why chime is not improving
I been with chime for quite sometime I'm not happy at the results for example I get s.s.i and I asked why I can't increase my spot me the offer is only to increase if I add a friend .quite of few of my friends joined but didn't do it on a link because they still wasn't sure. I was overcharged by a scam vendor and immediately filed a dispute. I was charged 60 for entry but saw that it charged me 180. Chime reversed it temporarily and credited back the 120. and then took it back stating they made a determination that no error occurred. They provided no detail or documentation. The investigation was subpar. They simply ask th3 vendor what happened and then sided with them. Simple Google would have proved my case. This is not a company with you best interest as a customer. Now I'm at a loss.

Chimes interface is easy to navigate and even non techy savvy people like me can use it. My biggest complaint is that if you do not have steady direct deposits you can not use all the features, like spot me for example. My employer is small and did not offer direct deposit. That being said, you would think after 4 to 5 years of the same check being mobile deposited without a problem, they would lighten up a little and offer all the features available. I will say chatting with a live agent has significantly improved over last few years so thumbs up on that! Finally a word of advice...if you plan on mobile check depositing into Chime...expect upbto a FIVE business day delay in your funds being available. They will give u an estimated date before u commit so just be on the lookout. At the end of the day...I'm satisfied enough to stay with Chime :)

The mobile check deposit is b.s. , yesterday I deposited a mobile check for $1699 , and it didn't release one cent to me I have to wait 4 days to get $200! Then another 4 days to get the rest so almost 10 days to cash my check , meanwhile my bills are behind and building interest and late fees. It also doesn't make sense this is my 6th or 7th deposit from the same company which btw is a state government check from L & I The very 1st check I did a mobile deposit with this company it was $ 1,350 And the whole amount was released within 2 hours ! So then the next one is only $200 they put a 48 hour hold on that . So I called yesterday before I even deposited the $1699 check and the guy on the phone just kept saying the same ****** thing > the more checks you deposit we won't make you wait .. blah blah blah. And I've been a member with Chime for like 2 years. So I had to take out a high interest payday loan to get by until they feel like releasing my money. Very disappointed in the inconsistencies.

I love most of the features on Chime
I love most of the features on Chime. What I don't like is the pressure of tipping on Spot Me. I understand it helps other people out but most people can't always afford to leave a tip. Chime tells you it's just an option they also tell you that they can spot you up to $200 which isn't true I've had Chime for years & I only get $60 spot me! There's 3-4 deposits made every month on my card & yet my Spot Me never increases

I will now be closing this bank account due to them being very unprofessional. I bought 2 items on DECEMBER 19, 2022 before Christmas and I have NEVER RECEIVED those items. I filed a dispute with chime several times as well as doing Several rebuttals as well... And they have the nerve to keep telling me they don't see an error. Therefore they denied all rebuttals and disputes (I FILED 6 EACH!!!). It's pissing me off every time they say that there isn't an error because I have sent pictures of the merchant not responding to me as well as the exact picture of my order status clearly showing that I have never gotten those 2 items delivered to my house!! They keep making me file these rebuttals and go through all this pointless crap just to send me a denial email days later as if they have really obtained some proof from the merchant that I actually really did receive 2 items that amounted $88.20. It is now February 7th and I still have not received my money because chime won't give it back to me. $88.20 GONE DOWN THE DRAIN!!! DON'T BANK WITH CHIME !! Please don't use this company I might keep them because I have no choice. And I do not like switching back and forth to different carriers. But I have had bad experience with them twice now. They lied to me yesterday on the phone through customer service! They basically told me that my fiance's tax return cannot be sent to my account. Okay that's fine we did not know that! And I asked them if they could call me so I can change it to his account. They promised me they wouldn't send it back to the IRS and reject it! But they did reject it and send it back to the IRS! Even though they told me they wouldn't do that! And that they would call me first before so they would take the next steps. As in me telling them his routing number and account number so the refund can be sent to him because he also has chime. But that's okay because these people are liars and they promised things they couldn't do. Which is what upsets me the most. We were looking forward to those returns and now we have to wait even longer. When they could have just changed the account and put it in his. Which is what they promised. So don't sit here and reply to my comment and say give me your account number so we can help you with this situation.. when you really can't I'm just letting people k n o w. The first thing that happened to us when we first got chime is that he splits his check and sends one part to his account and another part to My but chime doesn't allow that either. So good thing we have that feature where you can just send to anybody Through chime. But that won't work for me anymore because he is no longer going to be your customer soon as he gets his return he would be going back to NetSpend. Don't know if he is for sure or not but just know that we're both highly upset that we were lied to! NetSpend allows you to split your check and send it to whoever you want through direct deposit. They also allow other people's tax returns to be in your account as well. So we did not know that chime was not going to allow this. And we understand that. But we put everything in my account thinking that it would go through just fine. But chime rejected it. And instead of just transferring everything to his account because that is his taxes. And they said they could do that if they couldn't successfully put it in mine. But they are liars just putting that out there just in case anyone decides to try to do the same.

I would strongly advise anyone Thinking of getting a chime account To look into something else they make it very easy to get the card but if you ever have to update information you will have to give everything including your 1st born child I have had money locked into this account because they are wanting information that I am not able to give They claim it's for security but in this day and age do you really want to be given out information personal private informatin in a email that's going somewhere you have no idea of where it's going and who is viewing it Especially when its information you didn't even need to get the card in the 1st place. it is such a simple process to get the card but an impossible process to update your information and once you're locked out of the account you're locked out your money now belongs to Chime It is a terrible company and I would never deal with them again

CHIME IS A SCAM!
My Chime account was hacked with someone successfully transferring $805 to a temporary email. I’ve disputed this transaction with Chime directly and have been told twice that my dispute was denied due to “no error occurring”. Mind you, I’ve been a Chime customer for over 3 years with no issue before this. I’ve now attempted to reopen my dispute for a third time, and have since filed complaints through the BBB, the CFPB and the Internet Crime Center of the FBI against both Stride Bank, N.A. and The Bancorp Bank, Chime’s parent companies. Chime sucks and if I could give this company 0/5 stars I would a million times over. Beware of Chime.

Update from 1/28/2023 UPDATE: I was initially SCAMMED by a Chinese online firm called Rabbit Quick on November 13, 2022, for a terrible knock-off product costing only $59.95. I worked thru ALL of the Chinese product return policies except one - paying for the return of the knock-off product all the way back to their Chinese warehouse for more than twice the purchase price. See the clear SCAM? As a part of fighting the original SCAM, I contacted Chime (my “bank” at the time) to report that particular SCAM and to request a SCAM refund of the purchase price due to the fraudulent nature of the sale. It quickly became apparent that the 2nd SCAM was occurring right before my eyes - Chime (not a bank) was not at all concerned with or cared anything about my initial SCAM report and was indeed "SCAMMING" me a 2nd time for their own bottom-line. THEN, in January of this year, I conducted a more thorough examination and review of Chime's activities, and the light came on: Chime (not a bank) is a fraudster and a con all by itself. Chime has no intention of honoring any true bank due diligence, laws, or proper procedures. Review ANY of the single-star customer reviews for Chime from any complaint source (including BBB) and you'll see the same Chime replies and "answers" - deny, deny, deny. There's a reason that 14+% of ALL Chime reviews are single-star complaints. That's a high percentage of serious complaints no matter what type of widget is being sold or pushed. SUMMARY: As a former Chime (not a bank) customer, as long as you toe the line and don't complain or have some other issue, you should be fine. But if you don't toe the line, you're financially dead. And that could easily result in the personal loss of a lot more money than I've experienced (many in the thousands). Again, check any of the single-star reviews, and there's a lot of them. So, I would highly recommend that you stay with the traditional banks with real people and real observance of the banking laws. Chime (not a bank) has only one positive note over the true banks, and that is the "Spot me" feature. ALL other Chime features are the same as traditional banks, ALL of them (direct deposit, etc.). And you can expect the "Spot me" feature to soon arrive at a true bank near you. It's called "competition" and it works.
