Chime is great. They have many features that are useful. Spot me bonus. Referral bonus. I'm very happy with support. My credit score has gone up because of the credit builder card. You can send money to non chime members also.

I’m rating this review so that my comment is displayed. I DO NOT recommend chime to anyone. I received a code to provide others to join & NEVER was provided with a bonus. Set up direct deposit during the timeframe provided & still never received my bonus neither did the person I received the code from. Not to mention I had a merchant pulling fund from my account that I DID not authorize. They open multiple claims for this merchant but however I had to speak to multiple representatives in order for me to finally get the merchant removed from pulling funds from my account. This actions should have been done the first time I opened a claim. & CHIME reimbursed me $15 out of the full balance that I was supposed to receive from the same merchant. I never received my full balance. When I pointed out that they reimbursed me for two claims for the same merchant but not my full total they open up numerous rebuttals but still denied me the larger amount. Which made absolutely no SENSE! If you are person who is looking for a trustworthy place to have your direct deposit I do not recommend chime. The member service representative do not care about the well being of the members calling in. Some of them are very rude. Lucky I came across one good apple her name was CARAMEL, not sure if that was her real name but she was a sweetheart that helped me get $15 worth of my claims total. I am opening an account bank account to have my direct deposit sent to and hopefully this doesn’t happen to anyone else. My experience with chime has been horrible I stuck it out because I enjoyed getting my check two days earlier but their are other banks that offer the same option plus more. They do not give you more than $20 spot me, I’ve been with them quite sometime and never had a spot me increase. Do NOT fall victim to the false advertising of this company and please check their reviews before making a decision, I wish I would have done so before opening an account with this company.

My car was broken into and my wallet was stolen, they used my chime car and when i called chime to dispute my transaction with even a police report, chime keep rejecting my request stating i didn’t provide enough information. On top of that the customer service is ridiculous they are like robots, you asked for a supervisor they said no supervisor, that all you need is to write to support.

Chime was ok at first as long as I…
Chime was ok at first as long as I didn’t need any help. I had a check deposit to make in a large amount. I followed the instructions but the check was rejected. When I called their customer service, the first representative was not of any help. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor and that person was not of any help either. All they do is read from a script. Not one person with their customer service could help me with why the check was rejected. The only help they could give me was to open up another account with a different financial institution and deposit the check. Their contact us email help was just as bad if not worse. Even closing my account with them was a pain. Do yourself a favor and open up an account with a credit union or bank, one you can walk in to.

WORST BANK - CUST SERV IS A JOKE!!!
Horrible company. I transferred money and the next day attempted to sign on and account was blocked. it said blocked for security reasons due recent transfer and to provide account info via email to unfreeze account. I provided all the info they requested and nothing. Several weeks have gone by and nothing. I sent two more emails and no reply. They must thing they are the only company out there. The only thing that makes them stand out is the horrific service. I would highly recommend going with another bank. They are horrible. Zero stars!!!!

I Think Chime is Great!
I think Chime is a great banking solution for anyone that's for one reason or another, unable to use a traditional bank account. Anytime I've had charges unauthorized by me, they have been super quick with rectifying the situation and crediting my list funds. Chime may not be for everyone and that's ok. As for me, I can only speak about MY personal experience. Thanks for helping me all of these years, Chime!

This bank is awful
This bank is awful. It does not help you when your money is literally stolen. It takes them 3 months to decide if they are going to help you or not even though it only takes them 10-20 days to investigate the case. They are in no way any kind of help. They don't care about the accounts they have. Do yourself a huge favor and get a better bank. Actually any bank would be better than Chime.

I needed a refund of $344.50
I needed a refund of $344.50. Not only did they not allocate the the refund. Even after I did the investigation, they close my ticket as if I was going ruin my own proof, that made me suspicious of some kind of shadowing or keyboard clicking. When I say that it felt like they had access to my cookies made a fake site to take my money then wouldn't give it back. Also they don't have a stop payment feature on the app or website,nor will customer service do it.

Chime is NOT a bank! get your money outhey charge my account for an Amazon…
They charge my account for an Amazon order that wasn't supposed to be charged because it was TRY B4 YOU BUY. Amazon told me that they didn't charge my account nor did they put ahold on the money but to be safe I cancelled my order yet come still has it pending for days later with no hold no merchandise bought and it was there v fault but there is nothing they can do. DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT. IT'S NOT EVEN A REAL BANK. ass soon as I get my money out of pending status I'm closing my account. Their customer service team must be high I have never delt with more unintelligent people in my life. All from other countries. Hey out while you can.

Customer who withdrew all funds from chime
I was emailed through chime about a merchant who withdrew funds without my authorization or needing that service they are not providing when I disputed it with chime not once but twice I was still emailed a no error found I went to sending documents to prove this merchant is not providing service to me for that withdrawal and instead I was treated suspiciously for reporting this merchant while the merchant made off with my funds and can’t prove what service I am paying for. After being denied from chime for my funds to be returned from merchant I decided to withdraw all moneys from savings and checking which will take a month to receive by check so not only being treated with bad customer service but for banking with them and making you wait longer for all your funds to be pulled from the account you closed out chime also sent me an email and it read sorry we are closing your chime account like if they are closing it for they own reason when I am leaving chime because my money is not safe with chime I have now file a small claims lawsuit with the merchant to receive back the funds that stolen from my account and it will cost me I am now delayed in my bills because the money that was taking out of my account was for my rent which it set me back and not to mention how I have to wait for a check of my remaining funds to be mailed to me. The chime members and supervisor who handle this situation was terrible a disgraced to the company and had no attention on providing you with best service in preventing fraud from happening to your funds I felt when you tell them how horrible they handle your situation now your dispute is found as no error occurred after you sent all the documentation that prove you did not or have services from this company. Trust the people who I brought to chime are currently aware of my experience and will be also looking to pull their funds from all chime accounts because my friends and family know when I state what it is they know it is exactly how it happened so good bye chime and I will continue to share my horrible experiences about chime so everyone can be aware of my experience banking with them.

Horrible service
Horrible service! It takes 2 days just to talk to a live representative, outside of that, you will get the run around, from email to chatbots for 2 days. If I can't trust them with a simple address and name change, I definitely can't trust them with my money.

Great Bank
I dont care what everyone else thinks! I love Chime. I have a checking account as well as the credit builder card which has my credit score going up, by the way! Also I have received my paycheck early since the first deposit! Spot me needs a little more wiggle room but overall great!

My account has been hacked and they will not refund the funds and it keeps saying they is fraudulent activity when they are supposed to have secured my account. I've had to change my password 4 times in 6 days. Someone called me to get everything sorted out from chime themselves and I'm pretty sure it was the thief because they changed my email and phone num er on my account when the fraud occurred and they aren't taking ANY responsibility for this

Stolen by Cime
4 illegal transactions from eBay in my account. I didn't do them. I spoke 3 hours with eBay: they can't find the transactions even if I provided the numbers in the description. Advised to go to Chime. I disputed the transactions and Chime DENIED them. So I lost $115. I transferred the rest of the money and I told them to close the account. Grossly, I received an email from them that they decided to close the account. No, it was my decision. Chime, rest in peace !

I have banked with Chime over 6 years…
I have banked with Chime over 6 years with only one major issue with a grievance over hotel charges that they didn't even investigate or get info from me to reach an honest decision. This cost me over $400 due to Priceline canceling a reservation without my permission or knowledge causing me and my dog to have to sleep in the car. On Friday the 8th of September I used the Chime ATM at my place of employment trying to withdraw $100 in cash. It took my Chime card, my PIN number but did NOT dispense my cash and showed as pending in my account. I immediately call Chime "Customer Service" only to be told, "I understand" and "I'm sorry that you are going through this". After telling my story to more than one person I decided to pull up the video that the store has facing the Chime ATM and it showed that no cash was dispensed. I didn't even get a printed receipt. I decided to wait through the weekend and see if the money went back to my account but it did not. Today I called again only to get transfered to the infamous dispute department and I explained for the fourth time and told them that I have video proof. The filed the dispute and told me that it could take up to 45 business days to 'investigste' and that the earliest they could give me a courtesy credit while the investigate would be 2 weeks (Sept 28). Although the $200 "Spot Me" is helpful, and I have used it more than I want to admit and have always paid it back, it's not worth the aggravation and worry that my money is going to be stolen from me by my own bank that I have been loyal to for 6+ years. Today I am looking for another bank. I no longer trust Chime! Carrie Jackson

I had a family member who sent me $200…
I had a family member who sent me $200 via chime. The message to claim the funds came to my phone. I hit claim, and inserted my debit card information. The money didn’t come to my card. I called, and spoke with multiple people, and messaged chime support. Nobody was helpful. Gabriel, who said her Id # was 47363, even found the situation comical because she felt it was out of their hands once you hit claim, and insert your debit info. I asked them if they could tell me exactly what account the funds were deposited into just in case there was a typo on our end (not likely), and they said they can’t see the information about the account it was deposited to, and their was nothing they could do. Luckily there was just a major delay and all wasn’t lost, but it made me aware of a major flaw on their end. If you’re not a chime card holder, and a chime card holder sends you money please be very careful!!

Chime has a convenient app, no fees, credit builder card and debit card included for checking and savings. You can send money to anyone else who also banks with Chime instantly, for free and the spot me feature is very handy. Once you set up qualifying direct deposit you' ll get a $5 spot me boost and work your way up from there. You're able to exchange spot me boosts with friends and family as well, which will be repaid straight from your check. I've even had a few unauthorized usage on the internet and I was able to call and have chime support help figure it out pretty easily. Highly recommend.

DO NOT BANK WITH CHIME!!!!! They will deny any legitimate claims of fraud!!! They have terrible customer service!!!! I am still trying to get back my nearly $800 dollars that was fraudulently debited from my account when my wallet was stolen. They keep denying my claims. I'm afraid I will be forced to get a law firm involved in order to recover my funds.

Honestly.. crooked politicians are able to transfer money with the speed of light.. yet regular people have to be financially raped by these crooked apps.. brand new card replaced because of fraud then within less than a month I get hit by a scammer posing as Xfinity snatched $45.35 out of my Chine account.. I don’t have Xfinity, but you can’t tell these people on the other side of the world that ffs!! They’re a Merchant we have to wait until it clears !! What the fracked!! Called them within an hour and yeah it’s a Nigerian posing as Xfinity.. Xfinity confirmed I don’t owe them !! No!! We’re fracked because our data is free all over the world now!! Do they care??!! Frack No!! Up to 90 days we’re continually fracked out of our money.. who cares ??!!! it’s not their money !! Then try to transfer your money out to your own account elsewhere.. 5 days.. this thief got it in less than 2 days!!

First of all i called chime when my wallet stolen by my ex. We was supposed to stop the activities on my account they we got this hold on. They verified the fraudulent activities but im black trust i don't throw this around. I called them later to check my funds they asked me my email i gave it to them i am upset at the time they tell me my email doesnt match but they send me emails to learn how to fix the problem the same email that doesn't match. Sorry i was upset but yall thought i was lying judge my voice and said they gonna new a id to verify my account. I felt less than istantly so it took a couple days to get a new id phone my Uhaul was stolen everything gone. Chime is the worst and their customer support is horrid. I have been a long time customer with Chime. I only had one incident where I reported a fraudulent transactions and was told the distance from the restaurant to my home is in close proximity, Chime denied my claim. Even though I had proof it wasn't me. This happened 3yrs ago. Fast forward to what brought me here. Chime motto"Banking made easy" is false advertising. Talking to Chime customer support is like talking to a brick wall. My employer sent my payroll check to chime for direct deposit 3 days before payday. On payday the money isn't in my chime account. I went through the app to speak with someone. This was a major headache and causing me so much Anxiety. I talked through Chime chat and spoken on the phone with several agents only to get the run around. I was told by several Chime reps that they can't see my direct deposit until it's posted. I then asked so where's my money and was told it's in processing. I then asked what stage in the process is my direct deposit? I was told by multiple Chime agents that they couldn't see the process only when it's posted. Again what is customer service for if they can't answer simple questions. Chime also said they release your money as soon as it's deposited. This is a lie and false advertising. Your direct deposit goes through a third party process before it's posted ito your account. Chime holds your money and release it when they want to. I was also told I have to wait 2 pay cycles (a month) to get my money. Even though I have been with Chime for over 7 years. I will be closing this account. Please beware don't use chime is a rip off and they don't offer immediate release of your funds=false advertising.

I had a problem with the visa, I ordered some goods on e bay which did not arrive... this visa chime is not zero liability, they denied me the temporary credit osa which happens with wells fargo, td bank, where I have mine other visas....I don't think it's correct to declare zero Liability and then it's not like that....I spoke to an operator who was very.embarrassed and told me that they don't give temporary credit.....I already have I understand how this story will end, I lost my money ... I will never use their services again .... be very careful ... this has been my experience ....

Check deposit takes too long
I enjoy chime a lot. My only issue is the amount of time it takes to deposit a mobile check. It is absolutely ridiculous. They let you deposit half immediately but you have to wait two weeks for the other half.That makes no sense at all. They claim it allows them to deposit more checks however I think you should focus on quality instead of quantity. Other than that I have no other complaints..

Even if you have recorded phone calls they don't care and after this last issue that I have had today with them I'm going to have to part ways I really don't like changing Banks because then I have to change everything but I would suggest going somewhere else

This is the worst financial institution ever. I regrettably switch my credit union to chime to receive my pay from my employer. I was paid on the 25th of August and even on the 29th of August I still have not received my funds. Even though I have an ACH transaction number from my employer and my employer stated that the monies has not bounced back chime stated that they have no clue where my money is and I should just be content with knowing that they are the receiving end and not the sender. Don't send your money to chime for your check they won't have it early and chances are you'll be at least 4 days late attempting to attain your money!

This company should be investigated. Someone was allowed to remove every dollar from my account without my consent. I don't know they are allowed to continue operating like this after reading so many reviews of thus happening and no one ever gets refunded. There is something wrong with the operation of this company and something need to be done about it. I am seeking legal guidance maybe there is an attorney who will handle every one complain. Life is to hard and some of us have limited monthly resources. This is unacceptable and CHIME should be investigated ASAP. HORRIBLE

Chime is better than a bank, it has helped me in so many ways. Getting a bill paid at the last minute, giving me an overdraft with an option to pay back. Then just to know that giving back helped others get there medicine or food just makes you feel better. No other card has ever done this. If you have a dispute, Chime is right on it, immediately! I absolutely love the chime app it’s has been such a amazing attribute to my life and has had a very positive impact of different aspects of my life it has made everything to do with banking much more easier and more efficient in a lot of different way such as I can move money really fast and efficiently from My PayPal, cash app, and chime apps without any hassle or problems I can also have my paycheck sent directly to the chime banking app through direct deposited which has been such a blessing to my life I don’t have to worry about if the bank will be open when I get off work on pay day to cash my check it’s automatically goes on to my chime app card which I can access from my phone anytime and any where because chime also allows you the option to set up Apple Pay so you can still use your chime account to access your money if you forget or misplaced your card but if you think your chime card is being used by someone or has been stolen you can turn off the ability to use or access any kind of funds on your card just by having the chime app on your phone it only takes just a click of a button and no one can use your card or have access to your funds in anyway The Chime banking app has really changed the way I view banking apps in this day and age I used to believe that banking app on your phone was a waste of time but the chime banking app has truly changed my opinion on the banking industry in such a positive way. chime is super easy to understand and navigate  on how to use the chime banking app it’s also extremely efficient it changed the way banking is done by people in this day and age it always allows you to have access to your funds so much easier and gives your the ability to transferring money back-and-forth between friends, family or just associates so much more easier, its extremely more efficient than ever before. It has absolutely changed the way banking will be done forever it also give you a $200 spot me if you have insufficient funds in your account as long as you have direct deposit set up on your chime account it will allow you to have access to use over draw up to $200 dollars tell you get paid again which can be very beneficial even though you have to pay it back when money gets deposited on to your card again it can come in handy if a emergency was to arise and you need extra money tell pay day it also allows you to save back money easier by putting the money that’s left on the dollar amount that you spent on a purchase back into your savings account  which is also on the chime app and it’s very easy to access and just in case, if that is a little bit confusing, I will explain if I was to make a purchase that was 39.54 on my card it would put the 46 cents that’s left to make the next even dollar amount back into my savings account which if you use your card a lot it really starts to equivalent up fast and really helps to improve my saving back techniques without me even realizing the fact that I’m saving back money, chime also allows you to improve your credit score it gives you the opportunity to build up your credit score even if you don’t currently having any credit or if you have a bad credit score chime still gives you a second chance to work on and improve your credit score when a lot of other banks would have just look the other way or turned you down because of your credit scores chime really has your best interest at heart and won’t just turn you down because of past instances that you may or may not have on your credit history. I would highly recommend and suggest the chime banking app to anyone that is trying to open up a new banking account or savings account for any reason the chime banking app has been extremely beneficial to my live and if I had to rate the chime app 1 through 10 I would absolutely give the chime app a 10/10 it’s a truly amazing and beneficial banking app for anyone to have it don’t matter if it’s your first banking app or if it’s your thousand chime will definitely change your opinion on online banking app in a absolutely positive way I couldn’t ask for a better experience than chime when it comes to online banking apps

Chime is absolutely the worst bank I’ve ever had to deal with. I just got a new debit card in and activated it and then I had to order me a credit builder card. Once I did that it disabled my debit card. Then I called their customer service to try and disactivate my debit card that they froze up whenever I ordered a new credit builder card and the customer service wouldn’t do anything to even try and get my debit card back again working. Not to mention I just got my new debit card in the mail yesterday.

I wish I could say something positive but I have zero positive to say. Chime seems to let me down since August 16!. I am a homeless man living on the Mercy of some God fearing people. Chime held my money back and accused on the merchant (hotel). I would stand by with the hotel. It's Chime who is putting an hold on my money! that I begged to someone to help me. Hotel has proven that they didn't receive my money and I believe it!. Then where is my Money Chime? That was put into my account through cashapp$!. Where is my money Chime?. I leave at it but if I don't see my money then I will have to write more serious reviews unless the situation is resolved. I won't quit.

My mother receives her social security to a Chime account. Someone was able to login and update the account information and take thounds of dollars over the course of several months. No one at chime will help! We get the same canned responses, with no course for resolve. I've been trying for many weeks and the thief STILL has access to my mother's account. Do. Not. Trust. Chime.

My own experience with the app is overall good. I like the SpotMe feature as well as receiving my direct deposit early. BUT, don't expect any help from customer service beyond their quoting policy (and then misrepresenting it). They pretend to help you but it's all BS to distract, delay, deny. Email help is poor; after ten emails with customer service, I terminated my account, and it took 30 days to get my money returned. I was scammed by a company…
I was scammed by a company impersonating Chime. When you look up call Chime on Google it's the first number and I was scammed for $2000 dollars! Chime would not help me get my money back or cancel the transaction from 3 minutes before and gave the pepole that scammed me plenty of time by putting my on hold for hours then ultimately doing nothing to help me. I submitted a repot to the BBB and the FTC to try to get help. I have no rent money or money to pay my electric bill and it 100 degrees outside right now. I have been a loyal customer for years now. Why would Chime not help and just cancel the transaction and put the money back in my account? I will not be able to survive now and Chime does not care.

Shady bank. Their operations seems very shady to me and good luck with customer service. You're gonna get an agent that doesn't understand you, doesn't listen to you, lies to you like crazy and, good luck getting the company to actually care about their customers and hear their complaints. You will not get paid 2 days early unless they feel like it. I have proof chime held my paycheck for almost 3 days instead of depositing it like they say they do. Do not bank with these people!!!!

I have been a Chime customer for just over two years now. I started the account as a convenient means to transfer money to my daughter who lives out of state. I was a little hesitant at first, but my experience with Chime has been exceptional. Their mobile app makes transferring funds quick and easy. I have only had one instance where I had a need to contact customer service, but the representative was knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. He resolved my issue in minutes. I would highly recommend Chime to anyone.

Refusal to Return Stolen Funds
I have been a loyal member of Chime for several years and have even encouraged my partner and many friends to join. However, my recent situation has made me very wary of ever using Chime again if it cannot be rectified. On July 16th, my cell phone was physically stolen from me. Somehow, the person that stole my device was able bypass my device lock screen and help themselves to my Chime account. They transferred 5000 dollars from my savings into my checking, and sent 3 Pay anyone transfers in a span of about 15 minutes totaling to the amount of 4800. They only stopped there because they hit the pay anyone limit for the month. The morning of July 16th, I spent hours finally getting myself signed back into all of my accounts on a temporary device. As soon as I noticed the theft, I immediately called Chime to report it. They initially seemed very sympathetic and submitted disputes for all of the transfers as well as couple of small purchases that the thief had made. They let me know that the process could take 45 days and I ensured that I would be able to submit my police report once an officer was able to contact me to take the statement. At about 9 AM the next morning, I was still waiting for the police to call me back or visit my home. Low and behold, I received an automated email from Chime telling me that no error was found with my dispute and rejecting it. I immediately called them and demanded to speak with a supervisor. After about an hour on the phone, the supervisor reopened my dispute and told me that to email them my support documentation once I had it. I was finally able to make my police report and was sent a copy as soon as it was ready a couple of days later. I don't hear anything else about it until the 26th of July. In the meantime, I'm living off my boyfriend's money because I don't have my debit or credit card active and am terrified to reactivate them until this entire matter is settled for fear that the thieves may be able to use my account and routing number to do transactions in the mean time. On the 26th, I received a credit while they investigate. On August 2nd, I received yet another automated email denying my dispute. I immediately called Chime and spent nearly 4 hours total on the phone with them trying to get someone to do something to help me. At first, a supervisor wouldn't allow me to talk to a manager claiming that they don't talk to customers. Shortly after the supervisor put me on hold and sent me a manager. The manager seemed very apologetic at first. He put me on hold for almost an hour and a half "looking for a solution" then came back and told me there's nothing he can do and that I will need to submit more documents after they remove the credit from my account and that the rebuttal can't be filed until the 9th. I was upset but kindly asked what other documents I would be able to provide, as the police report is basically all I have but corroborates everything and names the people that stole from me by name and Chime username. I also pointed out that these are people I have no history of sending money to (in 4 years, I've only ever used pay anyone with a single person), these are huge amounts of money that I've never sent before (especially in less than 15 minutes flat), I called them the day it happened and reported it to them and the police. The Manager literally hung up on me. I called back and sat on hold for another hour, just to have another supervisor also hang up on me after claiming no Manager was available. I have since sent reports to CFPB, BBB, Federal Reserve, and another criminal report to the IC3. They don't seem to care at all about helping me and have started spamming me with generic form letters about irrelevant details that they need me to provide. Beware.

I’ve had Chine since 2020..I keep a capital one account for back up so I’m switching both of my deposits to my capital one bc Chime is too inconsistent about the Spot Me and My Pay..i rcv a direct deposit every week but I’m limited to using My Pay once a month..hell, I can pay my overdraft with Capital One every week with no limits on when I can use it…I literally have no use for the Chime Account in this case..and even the points you get with the credit builder you can get with a credit card and actually rcv a line of credit instead of borrowing from your actual checking acct funds.

My experience with Chime has always been great. They helped with questions and whenever their is a problem with the app itself. Chime is also quick to resolve any problems or questions you may have. Also love the SpotMe feature. Gets me out of a jam
