Pros

  • Straightforward and easy to use application process
  • Transparent privacy policy and easy opt-out

Cons

  • Quotes may direct you to another comparison site
  • Not a direct provider of life insurance

Who Can Benefit From EverQuote?

Anyone looking for life insurance will benefit from EverQuote's seamless and user-friendly marketplace platform. Whether you are purchasing insurance for the first time or are looking to make changes to your policy, EverQuote will put you in contact with providers that can help. Although EverQuote is not a direct insurance provider, the site's partners are some of the biggest brands in the industry.

Features

EverQuote’s insurance marketplace is one of the largest in the United States, offering easy access to insurance quotes from prominent insurance companies across the country. If you are comparison shopping for most kinds of insurance, then EverQuote is a great place to start.

  • Easy Application

When applying through the site’s online forms, EverQuote saves you time with pre-filled data fields and introductory screening questions to make sure you are only getting quotes that make sense for your specific requirements. Users can choose to be reached by phone or email, or be transferred to the insurance provider’s website. One great feature of EverNote is the transparent opt out if you decide you no longer want to be contacted by insurance providers.

  • Resource Library

Users of the platform will appreciate EverQuote's vast resource library and insurance company reviews. No matter what you are looking for, it's likely that you will find the information that you are looking for. From different types of insurance to estimated funeral costs, everything you need to know about life insurance is available at the simple click of a button.

  • Life Insurance Company Reviews

EverQuote supplies detailed reviews of all of its affiliated partners. This lets users better understand what is available and compare different providers before committing to a life insurance policy.

Application Process

The application form is one of the highlights of the EverQuote service. While some other marketplaces have clunky forms that take time to fill out, EverQuote asks the important questions first – and then uses your answers to show you questions that are relevant to your application. Before requesting a quote, it’s worth preparing information in advance. Some of what you will be asked about when applying for life insurance quotes are:

  • Your health status
  • The health of your family, including parents and siblings
  • Any medications you are currently taking or have taken in the past
  • Your occupation and any hobbies you enjoy
  • Your driving record
  • Any details of life insurance policies that you already have and information about your beneficiaries

EverQuote will also ask for some additional information in order to find out if it can help you qualify for insurance carrier discounts.

Policy Types and Terms

EverQuote aggregates life insurance quotes from a range of partners, which means that you can find most types of life insurance policies, depending on your needs and budget. The three types of life insurance offered by EverQuote partners are:

  • Term Insurance

Term Insurance is life insurance limited to a specific period of time, for as short as one year or as long as thirty years. The policy only pays out if the policyholder dies during the term.

  • Whole Life Insurance

Whole life or permanent life insurance pays out benefits at any time. The most popular type of life insurance, when you take out this type of policy, you will pay a certain amount on a monthly basis for specific benefits. As long as you keep paying your premiums, you and your loved ones will be protected.

  • Universal Insurance

Similar to whole life insurance, universal insurance accumulates over time. However, unlike whole life insurance, you can alter the terms of your policy and your premiums depending on your fluctuating needs. As long as you pass your medical exam, you can increase or decrease benefits, and alter your premiums. Just make sure you don't reduce your premiums too much or lapse in paying them, or you may not be covered.

How Safe Is It?

EverQuote leverages data science to match users with insurance providers. While the platform does use the personal information supplied by users, the company lets users opt out at any time and offers a comprehensive and transparent privacy policy. You will need to provide information in order to access quotes and coverage information, however, you can decide what information is shared and with whom.

Help & Support

EverQuote offers customer support by phone during business hours or by email. To get a quote or ask any questions, call 855-522-3444.

Bottom Line

There are many online insurance marketplaces out there, and it's safe to say EverQuote is among the slickest and most user-friendly on the market. The EverQuote platform is easy on the eyes, and it's easy to use. Along every step of the way, EverQuote takes care to simplify and streamline the application process. The end result is that it takes less than 2 minutes to enter your details and get multiple quotes from top insurers. EverQuote partners with trusted names in the insurance industry to get consumers the best life insurance policy for their individual needs and budget.

Everquote sells your number to scammers
This company sells phone numbers to spammers and scammers. I went to usautoinsurancenow to get a quote for insurance (note: at the bottom of the website, it states that usautoinsurance.com is owned by Everquote. The last known address for Everquote is 210 Broadway, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 02139-1959, Phone Number (617) 245-0615. The website recommended an insurance company that already covers me based on my answer to one question, so was not helpful. Done, right? Oh no. Thats not how this company gets paid. Rather, that’s when the spam and scam calls started, sometimes 10-12 a day. I talked to one caller early in the process. He told me he bought a list from everquote, and wont be doing it again because everyone on it has been harassed incessantly by the time he calls them. To remedy this, Ive added my number to the national do not call registry, removed myself from the everquote lists, and told callers to stop calling me. Nothing has worked, and most of these numbers are not worth reporting because they are spoofed. I called the contact number for usautoinsurancenow, and the operator told me that everquote was not affiliated with usautoinsurancenow. I gave her the link to usautoinsurancenow and told her to take me off of their list, but the calls persist. Probably not much more to do but change my num er, but holding out hope that the do not call registry will help. User's recommendation: Do not use everquote or usautoinsurancenow, as these people are a direct and consistent resource for criminals to obtain your information. You will need to get a new phone number at best, and a new identity at worst. Frankly, I’m a little surprised they have not been indicted as accessories to a crime, but I also understand the burden of proof in criminal cases is high, and favors people like this.

OMG Yikes!!
OMG! Run! Called me like 14 times within an hour. Ignored the first 10 calls. I had to put my phone in airplane mode. Asked to be removed from their list for calls 11 through 14. On the 14th call I asked for a supervisor. Person asked why I told them they were the 14th call and asked to be removed from the list again. The calls finally stopped. Completely turned off from ever wanting to do business with this stalker company. One or two calls and a single email or text would have been sufficient instead of what they did. I will happily just pay more to another company instead this experience. HUGE YIKES!

Doesn't actually provide quotes
Doesn't actually provide quotes. Instead they take all your information and then provide links to some sites that make you enter in all the information again. I could have done that myself. This is clearly just a site that harvests data and provides nothing in return.

100% Scam
Same story as most people... Looking to lower home insurance, provided my information and my phone blew up. 22 calls from everquote within 45 minutes. Impossible to block. That continued at varying degrees for a couple days. Finally had to purchase a spam blocker for my Iphone.
