How Safe Is It?

Select Quote uses Secure Sockets Layer encryption protocol for its website. Any information inputted into its system is automatically encrypted for your protection. Select Quote also uses VeriSign for digital security.

Select Quote also only works with companies that have an A.M. Best rating of A+ or A. This is a rating of financial stability, and basically means that all of the insurance providers have the financial backing to pay up in the event of a claim being made.

Claims & Customer Support

When I first called, I found the sales agent to be very friendly and helpful. Everyone I spoke with was pleasant. As the process went on, it became more difficult to get ahold of someone. I think my only complaint would be the whole process was a little confusing and that it wasn’t always easy to reach someone. You had to wait for a return call or try email. Otherwise it was a good experience and I would recommend Select Quote.

The initial process was ok, and I was kept informed of progress. The policy did come back with some changes due to medical issue. At this point BOTH Select Quote and the insurance company began pressuring me daily to accept the policy with changes. I was not pleased with these pressure tactics at all. The process was lengthy, and we had some hiccups along the way but the rep for select quote followed up every step of the way. With out them and their attention we would have given up. The hiccups were not on select quotes part and with life insurance I expect a lengthy and complicated process.

Took WAAYYYY Too Long!
I used to get a life insurance policy in a few weeks. This one took 3 months-plus to get in place. I finally had to track down my medical records and send them in. Even after that, it took weeks to get a final determination and the time their provider took to process payment and finalize the policy was a couple of weeks. Snail-like pace!

She rocks. If not for Mindy. I would be lost. I had no clue how any of this worked.I didn't know the benefits that were available to me. I've called her multiple times in tears. If she didn't know the answer she found it. She is compassionate and understands. She's not made me feel like a problem. Or like I was dumb cuz I didn't know. She has helped me multiple times. With lots of challenges. I would not know about dual plans and Medicaid. I did not know I could get Medicaid. I did not want to I have to go on the disability. But she taught me through all the insurance stuff. Help me understand it. She has compassion and and she made sure you get all that your entitled to. For that I'm grateful. I have not received confirmation that my policy is in effect. I’ve left several messages to no avail. I had lower bids but went with your company. After you received my business, nobody returns my calls. Someone called today from your company when I answered but nobody was on the other line. They didn’t even call me back. First off, after we set up our medical appointment we told you that we are traveling and would be in Wisconsin and you still set up the medical for Missouri. Secondendly you tried to get us to take care of our medical records versus you doing your job. Which then took over 3 months for you do get us covered. I was happy with everything that was being offered for the insurance I bought and the flexibility of how I wanted to do payments. The only thing that I had trouble with was sending in my first payment as I was given the wrong address to send it to and it took longer to get there so that the policy could begin. Glad my check came back to me as it was a large amount of money so that I could resend it back out and it did get there the second time.

There was poor communication and long gaps between communications.I was told something was good, and then it was reversed. I received at least 3 mailings of my policy, the exact same paperwork. Was sent emails saying I hadn't submitted paperwork after it had been done. There is little communication in your company between departments or something. This took months to complete. My rep Dylan Park was very nice and professional and did his best, but often he didn't know why things were changed.

I called selectQuote and 11 North Carolina and they put me with a insurance agent said he was registered to handle clients in North Carolina if I'm not mistaken I think his name was Brett and when I ask about an insurance policy to see if my policy I had was a good policy he tried to sell me an additional policy to what I had and when I change my mind and told him that I decided I didn't want to do this he tried his damnedest to get me to buy the additional policy and when I told him I decided I didn't want to when he got ready to hang up he said thanks for wasting my time. I have never had someone so unprofessional working in an insurance group I honestly hope that no one else gets him. I have worked in customer service for the last 35 years of my life and I have never run across someone so disrespectful. So be careful when you go through select quote especially if you're in North Carolina.

Recently switched from old term policy that was changing prices every 5 years with Prudential. Poor service and no call backs from Pru Select quote found a great company a good price that is locked in for next 20 years should have switched years ago staff at select quote was understanding and took the time to listen to my questions and get answers PS: when I finally cancelled my pru policy, agent could not help me, had to call 800 number connected to a train station in SE Asia, where the CSR stumbled through the process, not her fault- likely sub par training by Pru
