THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE FROM THE BEGINNING! Underwriting would ask us for documentations. We would provide them then they would ask for something completely different. It went on for months with them asking for one thing after another and at the end of the day denied the policy because they requested a test be done that a doctor had reviewed and said wasn’t necessary. They didn’t want to write this in the first place and kept digging for months until they found a bocus reason and put us through months of back and forth. If you have ANY other option. TAKE IT.

I bought a million dollar policy thru select quote.I have been trying to select my beneficiaries for over a month but the customer service for the insurance company is located overseas and totally incompetent and their website has been broken for the entire time (Voya company thru Relistar). Select quote tells me they can’t help because they no longer work with that company. I am stuck with a life insurance without beneficiary which will force my heirs to go thru probate after my death.

BAIT AND SWITCH
Process took too long! My husband and I applied at the same time. He is still being jerked around. Nurse recorded a grossly inaccurate weight and now my husband has to visit his doctor to get a verified weight as the old "bait and switch" was being used; "We'll cover you but at a higher rate" for your mistake, pay an unnecessary co-pay, take time off from work, etc. It was your error - you should have sent the nurse out again to do their job correctly!!!!!

First of all why do so many different agents call and text and e-mail me, to many to keep up with I think I had 3 different people talking to me. Everyone was fine but when I was running out of time they started getting very pushy, near the end Mat Gilsdorf called me and tried to guilt me into to buying a policy because I decided to hold off because of the cost, he new I had another policy with some one else. At the end of are conversation he literally hung up on me no good bye or anything, I tried calling back but of course he didn't answer. It took too long from my examination in mid November to the time my policy was implemented on 2/27/23. My policy with my employer lapsed so I was without coverage for 2 months. Weeks would go by before I would find out that there was yet another delay. Your reps were good in responding, but I kept getting the same answer…your case has been escalated to a supervisor and we will be back in touch. Very frustrating. I had even reached out to a competitor to get a policy because I felt this policy was never going to be implemented.

Do not get life insurance from them
I talked to Dan about getting life insurance and it was the worst experience I ever had. I ask for a quote after telling him my information and he still said he wanted to talk to me on the phone for another 30 minutes before he gives me a quote. Long story short he never gave me the quote and told me to call back later. All the other companies gave me a quote. I do not recommend, they probably would not pay my family when I die, they would make up any excuse.

It took two months to get my rate. Originally I was quoted around 5k/year for my desired policy. After the two months and a lot of headaches I was quoted 15k/year. Within two weeks after this quote I received the same policy with State Farm for 6K/year. Should have just gone with State Farm from the beginning.

She found a term life policy for me, at age 68, that had a premium only two and a half times what I had paid for the same coverage thirty years earlier. The company that wrote the previous policy offered to let me continue with them for an eleven-fold premium increase. The process started out fast the nurse came to the house she took the blood. She did a urine test. I filled out the questionnaire, and then I got the report back from all the details that the nurse took, and then I didn’t hear anything for weeks. They got back in touch with me and told me that they were waiting on my my doctor to give them information which I couldn’t quite understand because they already took they took blood they took urine I don’t really know what else they wanted? Well, it turned out that my cholesterol was a little over the limit and what happened was I got the policy but the price went up the kind of threw me off but I wanted the policy so I got it. My question is if my cholesterol goes down does my price go down, that would be really good customer service so we’ll see otherwise it was all good.

12/21/22 Select Quote sent me a notice of ineligibility for life insurance. Everything on the blood work test showed excellent results, except the last test something called NT-PROBNP. For that one reason I was not insurable by Select Quote.

Policy Review
The nurse was almost 2 hours late for my home appointment. I answered the same questions multiple times for both the SelectQuote agent and the underwriting company and was still told that I had not given the information. Seems like there is a gap in that process and the cross-communication. Was sent a letter, stating that they were unable to give me a policy because I had not provided all of the information even though I provide the information and ultimately got the policy. The insurance pricing and policy details were very competitive and were the reason I ultimately chose SQ.

The whole process took way too long and at times frustrating. Scheduling an examiner was difficult. They were only available on one or two dates per month. My first appointment was canceled by the examiner company and I had to wait another month to reschedule. When the examiner came they forgot the paperwork and had to FedEx it later. After the exam did not hear from anybody for five weeks. I had to call to find out where we were in the process, wondering if it was still in the works. Some kind of communication would have been worthwhile. I guess the main complaint is the lack of communication.

I worked wit Select Quote 10 years ago on a life policy and they were excellent- now not so much. The agent was in my opinion irresponsible, tried to up-sell me a policy at a higher premium after he sent me illustrations of a lower premium life policy. Was not responsive and the process took months. I guess it is whoever Selectquote selects as your agent is who you deal with but I wouldn't work with the same agent again. Would have been easier to work with a local agent.

I loved the agent Eugene who assisted me, he was knowledgeable, and honest. The CCA Precious was extremely helpful making sure I knew how to get the physical and follow up afterwards. She made sure I did the final steps to complete the process. Great staff all the way around.
