Application Process

If you’d like to apply for a policy online, the first step is to enter your zip code and address into the company’s website. You’ll then need to answer a range of questions related to the property, such as the length of time you’ve been a resident.  You’ll also need to input your personal details in order to receive your quote, which you can choose to have sent to your email address. 

The entire online application process  takes 10 minutes to complete.If you would rather not complete the application process online, you can contact one of the company’s agents by phone. You can find the nearest agent by entering your address details on  Geico’s website.

Discounts

If you also have an auto insurance policy with Geico, you may qualify for discounted rates on your homeowners policy. Once you have purchased your homeowners policy, the company will apply this discount to your auto policy. It’s important to note these discounts are not available in all states.

Had a great experience today with…
Had a great experience today with geico. Was trying to get my new SUV insured so as to be able to drive to NYC from jersey by a dealer and I started a policy and was having some trouble, but I got so great help from someone there. He took the time to ensure the dealer and I got what we needed and because of his help I got my 2002 chevy tahoe fully insured at a price I didn't expect. Forgot his name but I thank you very much for everything. Good people is still out there. God bless you brother. Blessings

Lazy adjustors, terrible agents. What more could you ask for. Someone hit me we both unfortunately have Geico. They haven't done anything. I'm paying for rent a car out of pocket. Adjustor nothing it's been a week. I tried being nice. Well lawyers will handle it here on out. Dropping this sham of a company, family will drop them, friends as well. This incompetence will cost them.

Worst company ever
Worst company ever, after 3 months with the policy paying 336 $ for a Nissan rogue, they told me they made a risk analysis because of my wife driving in the app, my policy went up the double, and they put a fine of 300$ because of it. And next month I have to pay 800$ It's simply ridiculous, it is the way GEICO use to steal money. Don't buy GEICO insurance they are not serious

I was told by GEICO agent that I cannot get home owners insurance because the roof is 15 years old. I had been their long term auto insurance customer for more than 8 years. I realized just now how pathetic this company is.

Hate hate hate
Hate hate hate. I’ve been with them for almost 3 years and I was paying $360 every month for full coverage. I just started school for dental hygiene, so I had to switch to liability to be able to afford to insure my car on no income. I was paying $74 a month for liability which I though was fair. Next month my monthly payment went up to $170. No accidents. No tickets. Nothing. I called to ask what happened and the girl just said “oh it’s nothing you did, it’s just inflation and also we keep up with the area you live in and of all that”. First of all I live in the middle of no where. Then I asked if there was anything I could do because I couldn’t afford that and I don’t think almost $200 a month is reasonable for liability insurance and her response was to get renters insurance to get a dicount on auto, and I’d be paying more over all. Needless to say, I’m changing ASAP.

Raising rates
Been a loyal customer since 2009, with no change in my policy, and no change in my driving record, my premiums have doubled in the last 3 billing cycles, when I ask why and if there’s anything I can do, they basically just say no. Disgusting, Allstate is charging me half as of today for the same policy.

Unacceptable Experience
I am thankful that Geico is not MY insurance, but I've had to deal with them as their client failed to yield at a traffic signal and totalled my car in the process. Geico's unacceptably slow speed with handling my claim, as well as refusal to cover some of the out of pocket expenses I've endured, has left me with $3000 less in my bank account than I should have. Their customer service representatives have been courteous, but of very little help and I have had to do almost all of the footwork to collect necessary documents. I didn't ask to be hit and the police report clearly states I wasn't at fault, but I'm the one that is dealing with the headache for over a month after the accident.

Don't bother with customer service. Unreliable ineffective customer service. Just change insurance companies.
I have been with GEICO for over 5 years, never filled a claim. Their customer service department has no ability to take actions on their own. Forget about raising issues that require input from other departments outside of 9:00-5:00 EST business hours. Unresponsive, inflexible, just a large bureaucracy that doesn't care about its customers. Very poor customer service. Find another more responsive and reliable insurance company to do business with. In the end, after wasting my time with GEICO customer service again today, I spent 15 minutes online with another insurer got the coverage I needed and moved away from GEICO.

Terrible service and communication
Geico canceled my motorcycle insurance without even telling me. I was riding around on a motorcycle completely uninsured because their policies, customer service, and level of integrity are embarrasing. I called customer service and they said they had contacted me extensively...I hadn't heard from them in months. Why would you not call or send some kind of final notice before doing something so drastic as canceling someone's insurance? Somehow they notified the state before telling me, which resulted in a $50 fine for something I didn't even know about. Even more ridiculous, they canceled my insurance for completely unnecessary reasons. Had they just communicated more, they could've kept my business. Maybe a blessing in disguise though because I was able to get a better deal with Progressive.

Raised my rate 22% in the last year
I made some poor decisions in 2012 and had to carry SR-22 insurance for a while. Signed up for Geico once I was able to and generally haven't had any issues, but also haven't had any real incidents. The one incident I did have was a run-in with a deer over 3 years ago, and my $1000 deductible ended up being over 50% of the repair cost. Despite this, they insisted on forcing the repair shop to use non-OEM parts even after I offered to pay an upcharge. The replacement headlight they had to order didn't work, and they ended up having to order an OEM headlight after that. My car was in the shop for over a month for a headlight, and some bumper damage. I threatened to leave following that, but didn't follow up out of laziness. Recently got a notification that my rate was going up $21/month after a $22/month hike 6 months ago, so I called and asked why while pointing out that I had only had 2 minor incidents in 7+ years with them and none in the past 3. They gave the standard "general increases" response and said that was the best rate they could offer. They then suggested I bundle another policy (give them more money) and hung up on me when I said I was going to have to look elsewhere. Within 15 minutes I had a Progressive quote for the same coverage for $90 less per month.

Keeps increasing rate even if you call…
Keeps increasing rate even if you call to discuss, they do not care about you as a customer. Charges a cancellation fee if you end up having to change your service due to their fees. DO NOT USE. Will sound good at first and they *used to be a good company* but no longer! They just want your money and will get it however possible.

I wish I could leave a zero
I wish I could leave a zero. 8 year customer…wife and I are getting a divorce. I spoke with 3 agents about dividing the policy. New policy established. But after all the hidden fees I went with a competitor. Three days later I get a call saying my ex and I can’t separate the policy, and my ex would now owe $1200 for 2 vehicles. And although GEICO admitted it was their mistake, the charges were still to stand! Terrible customer service and business all around!

It's Not a Claim !!!!
Incorrect Claim information filed by GEICO. I have had an auto insurance policy with GEICO for many years and I am filing a complaint against GEICO auto insurance claims division (see details below) Due to GEICO Auto Insurance having raised my cost for renewal of my current auto insurance policy, I recently decided to shop around for pricing for an auto insurance policy through different auto insurance companies. After reviewing a few quotes from other auto insurance companies, I have decided to move forward with a auto insurance quote that was provided to me from Progressive Direct Auto. In doing so after answering all questions that the Progressive agent has asked me, the agent said asked if I have had any recent claims with GEICO, my answer was no, and he asked permission to run a claim report and my reply was that I had no past claims and yes, I give you permission to run the requested report. After a moment or two the agent notified me that GEICO reported that I submitted a Glass Breakage Claim on Jan 25 2023 for my 2016 Chrysler Town & Country. I immediately told the agent that I did not file a claim and was only inquiring about what is covered under my comprehensive glass policy through GEICO as I recently moved from Connecticut to Florida and had questions. The Progressive agent then told me that they could not honor the previous quote that I received and unfortunately the new quote would cost me $346.00 more per year. The agent then told me that I can dispute the said claim report with LexisNexis or have GEICO send me a what is called "Letter of Experience" from GEICO. So, I contacted GEICO and explained what was going on and requested a "Letter of Experience". After spending two plus hours talking to multiple people at GEICO glass claims department, they sent me the so called requested "Letter of Experience" but the letter still stated that I made a claim, my reply once again was "no I had an inquiry about coverage and in addition there was no claim paid to me" The agent said that there was no dollar figure next to the so called claim stated on this record, The GEICO representative also stated in order to answer my question about glass coverage they needed to open a claim ticket to answer my question, I then stated and said wow why so? their reply was that this is how their system works. I then asked if they could please send me a revised letter stating that there was indeed no claim paid to me and this was simply an inquiry from me. GEICO did send a second letter to me but basically it said the same thing that a claim was filed, so here I am paying a higher rate for auto insurance because GEICO said it’s an automated system and we cannot delete this report. I am adamant and believe that this is an unjust statement to insurance consumers and is also highly falsified due to GEICOs inability to correct this problem due to said systems not being able to correct their mistake.

These people are thieves
These people are thieves. For my first premium they gave me a decent rate. 6 months late they increase it by more the 1/5th and the repress so rudely says “we hade decided to increase our rates”. I ask don’t I have the right to be informed? He(John) says we did “ you just called us”!!! WTH? This is unacceptable. I would rather to pay more, but work with people who have decency and integrity.

IF you want to be scammed out of…
IF you want to be scammed out of THOUSANDS of dollars, then I recommend using Geico. I have been a customer of Geico for 7 years and very happy with their car insurance, probably because I have NEVER needed to use it before now. I got into. minor accident - photos attached and Geico found me at fault and somehow the damage to the car was $4000 worth of damage. Better yet - they don't notify me of this until 7 MONTHS after my accident, when they decide that my premium is going to go up $200. And even better - because I had been so happy with their services - I purchased on umbrella policy through them and at that time, due to changes require of my auto policy for the umbrella policy) ASKED the insurance broker if my insurance rate was going to go up for future payments AND WAS TOLD YES BY $6. IM SORRY. Unacceptable. Spent nearly 2 hours on the phone speaking with 5 different individuals and NO ONE could provide any assistance. And don't get me wrong - I understand having an accident leads to increase in insurance rates, but this minor accident does not warrant DOUBLING my insurance annually and NOT being informed about it, especially when I was speaking about cost of insurance wit an agent on 8/4/2023 RUN FAR AND FAST FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Geico shows INJUSTICE IN OUR U.S. Communities
In my recent experience with this company, the back office staff here has shown to be extremely unjust, crooked, deceptive, and portrayed evil business ethic, and intentions. My automobile was stolen from me. Geico staff told me to transfer the title to receive compensation for my loss. After I transferred the title, they did not provide compensation. The vehicle was later recovered from the thieve, and Geico staff never told me. They only forced me to keep paying insurance for the stolen vehicle. They later updated my personal information on file with them WITHOUT MY CONSENT. They changed my currently active primarily phone number to another phone number that is no longer active. Throughout the process Geico staff did several things to portray acts of evil, crookedness, and bad business ethic including the following: - Geico falsely accused me of selling my stolen vehicle causing defamation, and deception of my name, as a nationwide business owner, and philanthropist, in what showed to be racial profiling, and racial discrimination. This was after exclusive evidence was shown that I was the victim of the auto theft. - Geico staff committed concealment, withholding all important information regarding my stolen vehicle including the recovery of it, who stole it, they withheld personal documents for several months, after I asked several times to receive documents regarding my loss that were requested by legal advisors. THE MOST RECOGNIZABLE FACT OF THIS MATTER IS if Geico can knowingly, nonchalantly, lie, and falsely accuse me, a successful nationwide small business owner, and known philanthropist of 13+ years, as if it was their routine, who else has Geico lied on, falsely accused, and even wrongfully imprisoned in the past, and who else with they do this to in the future. This is not about me, or my race. This in more about injustice is our U.S. communities, and the allowance of it.

Bad Geico
I was with Geico for more than 10 years. I never had a claim and only needed to use Towing once. Last week my bank card was hacked which was crazy stressful. It just so happens on the day that I was hacked my auto-matic payment for Geico was processed. I didn't catch that because I was dealing with the bank and credit card company. So Geico charged me $20 as a late payment fee. It's good for you to know that I have been on automatic payments for all of the time I've been with Geico and I have never once missed a payment. So since I have been a very good customer for Geico paying into their system for insurance I never having needed to use it I thought well this will be no problem they'll probably forgive the late payment because of the situation. They didn't care. I talked to two different Representatives I asked to speak to a manager, no manager would ever get on the phone with me. Supposedly they just told the two different reps that there was no way they would forgive and that the $20 fee would not be refunded. They didn't care what the reason they just were keeping the money. I'm a 70 year old woman who is responsible and always a good customer. To be treated this way after such a long time with Geico was an insult. So I decided to let them know I was canceling. They didn't care. I regret all the years that I paid into that horrible company. Can you imagine treating people like that in this day and age? If I could leave less than one star I would. Geico is a company with no conscience.

Underwriting department from Geico…
Underwriting department from Geico demanded verification of several documents with an un reasonable and impossible deadline for continuation of our Auto policy. We had just moved to Richmond, VA on the 2nd week of August 2023 and already have our drivers License and Car registration in Virginia. Those documents already require several proofs of residence in Virginia. Geico demands we provide 2 FULL utility bills by the first week of September. We have Dominion Energy and they cannot provide us with any bill until the 2nd week of September. We can only provide Internet and Electric because our place of residence includes sewage, water, and gas into the rent. Geico refuses to extend the the deadline. I have been with Geico since 2019 and never had to deal with this. We are forced to change to another insurance now because we can't fulfil the unreasonable and impossible demands by Geico.

My daughter is on our policy
My daughter is on our policy, Someone hit her car so we contacted Geico to let them know and they wanted $500.00 deductible to start a claim. I told them the other driver was at fault and we just needed them to deal with the other insurance company, Thats the way things was done many years ago. So we contacted the other drivers insurance and they paid for everything. Fast forward a few weeks later and some one hits me in my vehicle and the driver was given a ticket and told by police they was at fault. Now their insurance don't want to pay, They say its word vs word so they won't pay and I can contact my insurance and they can pursue them. I call Geico and they tell me again I would have to pay a $500.00 deductible for them to contact the other insurance. I don't get it I'm not at fault and I already pay them for things like this. Back in May I had a flat tire on my motorcycle and contacted Geico roadside and they contacted a tow company. My wife and I sat along the highway in 100 degree heat and a tow never showed up. I called the tow company and they told me they didn't come because it was Geico that called them and Geico don't pay them. I think it's time to drop Geico and take my 4 cars and motorcycle some place else. I suggest people stay away from Geico.

STAY AWAY FROM GEICO
We have had Geico on our two cars and motorcycle. Just canceled them. They are lazy, unprofessional and did no accident investigation involving a distracted driver that hit four other cars, knocking one of the cars into our path of travel and was raining car parts that caused me to lay down my motorcycle. It's been 50 days and they haven't called anyone involved in the accident and haven't even gotten the police report. They had the nerve to ask if i can get it. I laughed and said thats what I pay you for. Buyer beware....they will take your money and do NOTHING.

Geico has a good support team and their rates are very competitive. It is a discount insurance company that in my opinion goes above and beyond to make securing your property easier.

They waited until after the policy started
They waited until after the policy started to request info that I was not able to provide (power bill) creating a laps in coverage. I could provide proof of residency with title to the house, a credit card bill, a tax bill, bank statement, ssi letter, and a loan bill. But they said that it strictly had to be a power/electric bill. And that they do not accept any other types of proof of residency. I live in the country I do not have city water. I do not have city gas I live off grid. So anyone that lives off grid with an out house and solar energy. Do not apply for GEICO because you will not qualify. If you do not have a power bill that is issued from a city, you will not qualify that applies to all of their policies. I think it was really crummy of them to wait until after the policy started to tell me this. I would’ve just stayed with American family which I have been with for over three years.. or I would’ve looked into other insurance companies that would’ve allowed for me to use other forms of proof of residency.

Geico is hot garbage, I sincerely believe a loaded diaper is worth more than this shady company. They cancelled my policy out of the blue because I was missing some paperwork. Mind you I was deployed overseas and didn’t have anyone to get the paperwork for me on time so they cancelled my policy which I was paying for the car just to sit outside my house. A win win for them 0 risk factor but they didn’t care that the car wasn’t being used or that I was deployed overseas. Once I got back that was about 2 days late of their time frame to submit the paperwork I submitted the paperwork but they said they wouldn’t honor it. I have 0 respect for this crap of a company.

I have full coverage, my windshield broke of 2015 Toyota Corolla but GEICO refuse to pay for OEM glass. Geico’s excuse, too old to put OEM. Before going to GEICO, watch out.

I just really don't get it
I just really don't get it! Every single "form of contact" on their website makes you go in an endless loop of entering your personal information and then telling you that they don't offer support. What is the point??? I've called 6 different numbers, and every time they make you go through a process of choosing your policy, entering dob, and providing your ssn, and every time after this process is completed they will tell you: "Sorry, we don't offer support on the phone, please visit geico.com" And when I log in on my account it keeps saying that there is an issue and that I need to call the number!!!!! If you don't offer support, then just don't show your numbers! But what on earth is the point of waisting hours of people's time?

Geico is a scam company, please do not believe what they said to you! I was informed and confirmed by the representative on April 6 that adding an extra name into the same vehicle as me won’t get extra charge and the price increased is because of National wide increases. When I cancel the policy they said I owe the balance of adding extra name to the policy. Informed that I had representative confirm with me that it was for National wide increase not for adding an extra name. They said because they have provided the coverage they will need to charge for it. Basically, doesn’t matter how they clarify the quote or your billing even they have confirmed that adding an extra name won’t have extra charge or they tell you the incorrect information in which they won’t be responsible for it. Even it’s their fault you must pay for it because they have provided the coverage to you! Be careful record every phone call if you are speaking with Geico. Be careful and ask the details of policy in text as evidence.

My girlfriend claim got denied due to a incompetent claims adjuster who didn't accurately assess the damages inwhich the claim got denied leaving her without a vehicle and accused of fraud but still taking her premium monthly for a vehicle that is basically inoperable. Beware of cheap so called cheap insurance.

This Geico thing is devil…
This Geico thing is satan in the insurance industry, I had them for over 15 and a half, and my son has had an accident, they refuse him medical care, total loss of the vehicle and refuse to pay for the car by saying the car was not in the policy. The same car they told me was not in the policy I am still paying for the car insurance today because Geico refuse to remove it from the policy. Do not use Geico for your insurance.

My recent experience with this company…
My recent experience with this company was AWFUL!!! ! I tried to get a quote from them for a new auto policy. Mind you, nobody will talk to you on the phone anymore from Geico and you have to do everything online. I started getting a quote for an auto policy and at first the price was great, so I was going to proceed. I put in all my information and at the very last minute my policy went up tremendously, but was not given the option to cancel. They sent me paperwork which I never signed. I reached out to them to cancel and they said they would take care of it which they didn’t. They have charged me three times already and continue to assume I’m a customer when I do not have a policy with them. These are UNETHICAL practices! Shame on Geico!

This is the worst overrated insurance company I’ve ever had in my life. I’m sick of these main insurance companies screwing everybody. They are never any help and all they do is overcharge on everything after a driver ran a red light and hit me and I had a witness there even Geico dismissed my witness because they said that they could’ve known me I was in the hospital and had two blood transfusions, and after Geico put me not at fault months later down the road a worker Jesus Padilla. They’re changed everything and put me at fault ruining my life and causing so much chaos in it. I’m lucky to be alive and if you’re anybody who is smart, you would never use this insurance company or rely on them. I give them a HUGE 0 STARS

Skyrocket Rates
I had been using GEICO for more than a year, and suddenly during the renewal this time, the rates went to Mars. That is from 950 to 1550 (not sure what sort of hike it is) and that too with no claim / incidents during the past tenures. The explanation from customer service rep was Inflation was the reason. Not sure, how come the worst inflation raised the price like this! No way to handle this much raise and had to move to the new provider. Good Luck, Geico

Geico used to be a trusted brand. They initially put hidden ~$170 fee when I requested for a new insurance and changed my insurance rates from initial quote of $700 to $900. $700 included the hidden charges. After 5+ hrs of back and forth over multiple phone calls, I finally switched to another provider. They then charged me high pro rated fee: their agent acknowledged they made a mistake and that their manager would call: they never did. Felt harassed by their customer service: they are cheating customers. I have to call again to fix this or file a complaint if they won't.

I had to go through Geico for a claim from one of their insurers who damaged my vehicle. From start to finish, the process was easy and easy communication, except for the absolute awful automatic voice, I had an issue with the Repair Shop and my adjuster, Christine, was absolutely wonderful and was able to get my rental car extend an extra two days so I would not be without a vehicle. She was extremely responsive and knowledgeable. Overall, Geico gets Five Stars because they handled everything top notch.

I received an email from Geico soliciting a quote. I have perfect driving record for 20 years and same for spouse. End result! I currently pay $126 per month for full coverage. Geico quote $186! Not the average savings of 600 per year! By my math I would pay $720 more!

Worst auto Insurance company I filed a claim 8786279240000001 and 0586110030101024 with GEICO on 06/21/2023 and it’s been more than one month with zero progress, I called 15+ times, emailed 15+ times , only reply is that “we are reviewing your claim” , so technically they need couple of months just to review your claim, may be after that they will reject it, or they will send an adjuster to check the damage which will further take couple of month.

Awful company. Rates skyrocketing and customer service is terrible. So many better choices. I moved to State Farm and it is night and day better. I read a bunch of employees on Reddit talking about how awful it is to work there and that they are laying people off by the thousands. Seems to fall in line with my experience. Unhappy, over worked people cannot provide good customer service.

GEICO’s most unprofessional customer service ever
The Geico agent last week stated that my rental car would be extended into this week. Today, the most unprofessional agent I’ve ever dealt with stated that the rental was not extended. When I tried to explain to Ms. Chakalyn today that last week’s agent never called me back to tell me that there was a change in that no extension of the rental was possible, she rudely cut me off, continued to talk over me and had a condescending attitude in her voice. She denied that she had attitude and I asked to speak to her supervisor. She hung up on me! I am changing insurance companies today on all vehicles and will never do business with Geico again.

The worst insurance company to deal with after our truck was rear-ended. We were lied to by the claims rep that took the initial report, we didn't get to pick what collision center our truck went to because we were told if we choose the collision center then we have to pay out of pocket for the damage. Geico has made a terrible situation worse by their complete incompetence and lack of communication. We were told that the collision center wouldn't be paid until we signed off on the repairs, but they paid them upfront so now we are stuck with incorrect parts that don't belong in/on our truck. Absolutely the WORST insurance company!

Geico will not cover claims and damages related to accidents, They will take months to do an inspection, and they will pay for nothing, even when the coverage clearly states they are liable. Geico is not an insurance company if they provide 0 coverage.

HORRIBLE. Dealt with Tony Morbitio 8669757250000001. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. I now understand why NO repair shop ONE in state of WI wants to work with Geico. I called 10 in my area and I finally found ONE very good repair shop that took pity on me and agreed to work with Gecio. Tony the adjuster bullied and gaslight myslef and the repair shop the ENTIRE PROCESS. Now the ONE repair shop within a 60 mile radius of my home that would work with geico will never do it again. PLEASE STAY AWAY. They are fine until you need their help with an accident claim. THey try to get the customer to pay for the rental, through gaslighting, bullying, they tell the customer to have the repair shop pay for rental. The fight the repair shop on EVERYTHING and try to UNDER PAY THEM. NEVER NEVER AGAIN>.

Time to switch!
Let me start by saying we have had coverage with GEICO for all of our vehicles for the past 31 years. This most recent claim was only the 3rd claim in over 3 decades. Our vehicle was struck from behind while at a traffic light (hit and run). The person was texting and the impact was tremendous. We used one of the companies provided by GEICO . The initial repair timeframe showed 9 days. We called on day 15 or so . We were informed that the painting was delayed due to the weather. We finally received the vehicle back after 22 days. The only repair was to paint (not replace )the bumper. Astonishing....22 days to paint a bumper. Ultimately, our credit card was charged $707 for the rental. We reached out to the claims adjuster Brianna and a refund check was mailed. My husband was handwashing the vehicle 2 weeks later and discovered the rear drivers tail light cover was cracked. Obviously caused by the impact. We rarely drive the car as we have a company vehicle and an older SUV. We returned to the collision center (pics were taken), we reached out to Brianna and we were told to text additional pics, but no response, We reached out to customer service, posted pics and info on our online login and still it was only after repeated calls that Brianna finally responded stating...."I'm gonna say this was not related to the incident" because it was a "low hit". I was referred to and left messages for her supervisor Tyler Hubert and ultimately the representative even emailed Tyler's supervisor (Dane Palmer). We have not received a call back or email. Needleless too say its time to look for another company to insure our 3 vehicle, flood insurance and now our umbrella policy... 372 months of monthly premiums and they have to ponder replacing a cracked tail light cover. SMH

Geico is price gouging with no explanation!
I’ve been a customer of Geico for 10 years and over the course of that time there’s never been an increase and or a decrease even though I have zero tickets or accidents It was like pulling a tooth to get reimbursed for paying above my premium and it was promised I would be reimbursed by Geico A year and a half later I was reimbursed after multiple complaints But as of 2023 I could not be more shocked then to find out my insurance rates doubled going from approximately $2100 annually made in two installments all the way up to $4300 a year? The only explanation I’ve received is it’s all across the board in the state of Texas. That’s funny because I work with people daily and I go out of my way to ask what they’re paying, and if their insurance rates have skyrocketed, and each one of my customers claim that they have not skyrocketed! When I asked Geico to reduce items on my coverage, it only merely took off a few bucks per year. How convenient So basically, I can run around practically naked with no coverage bare minimum for $4300 per year because it’s all across the board? And no other explanation? And I almost forgot best part when I was offered a plan to reduce the rates I had to download an app which would follow my driving so I thought I’d give it a try and for the first week it would send me a text saying I was doing a great job driving Then all of a sudden one day it claimed I was texting and driving and gave me a warning you get it the app and my phone told me I was texting and driving and warned me it would be penalties if I continue to do so Funniest part about that is I don’t text and drive I don’t even answer the phone when I drive I’m not one of these New Age morons.

Worst Experience Ever-Run!
I agree with SO many here! I started my insurance with Geico 2 months ago, then suddenly they sent me a letter saying there were 'discrepancies' with our addresses and insisting that we give them all kinds of difficult or impossible to obtain extra information. They won't even accept my husband's driver's license or registration which has our address on it! Now they're threatening to cancel our policy. Also the customer service reps are rude, condescending and just don't care.

If I could write a zero star rating I would. We just found out the GEICO was fraudulently charging us for a family member that doesn't even live with us. Also they had kept a trailer on our policy even after we had cancelled it. When we called to cancel, after 15 years of being our insurance company, 2 1/2 hours later, GEICO owes us $867 that they could find. More than likely there is much more! Buyer beware, will never trust this company again and will be calling department of treasury to investigate

I have never been so disappointed in…
I have never been so disappointed in Geico up until June 13th my car was in an accident on 4/30. It went to the shop the adjuster went out on 5/2 everything was fine then I received a text message from him saying they found more damage then the original estimate on 5/24 and he was going to re evaluate my car the following day to see it. I checked my claim online he went took picture on the 25th. My vehicle was fixed by June 13th I had a rental all those days . I got a call from enterprise stating they said they won’t pay for my rental after June 2nd. I was not informed nor was the rental car company so now they want me to pay 500 for the extra days I had the rental out of my pocket. I’ve reached out to management no call back nothing . I got the adjuster on the phone and he stated to me it’s my responsibility or to have the auto body shop pay my bill. That’s just disgusting and shameful on them not to inform me or the car rental company.

La peor experiencia de mi vida. Tengo el seguro de mi auto en progresive por 5 años pero cometí el error de querer migrar a Geico que me resultaba un poco más económico. Lo primero que hicieron es ofrecerme todo y acepte pagar $ 645, luego vi me hicieron un cargo menor, llame para saber el porqué y me vi con la sorpresa que me habían quitado la cobertura comprehensive después de habérmela ofrecido por escrito, llame y empezó mi desgracia… hablé con 9 distintos trabajadores unos me decían que mi problema es que yo tenía un Hyundai y que el dealer debía enviar un documento de actualización del software de mi carro, lo hice y lo envié 4 veces, como no recibía respuesta ni llanada de nadie volví a llamar otros me pedían foto de un bastón de seguridad? Otros me hablaban de un sistema de bloqueo etc etc. el 21 hablé con otro trabajador quien después de pedirme mil disculpas y decirme el problema era que habían muchos trabajadores nuevos sin experiencia ni buena capacitación pero me aseguro había resuelto todo, incluso me dijo en caso no pueda revertir el pago de los 580 y hacerme un nuevo cargo por el total de 650 me cargaría la diferencia, me dijo incluso que se encargarían de enviar carta a progresive para decirles que ne cambiaba con ellos para que no me renueven ni hagan el cargo a mi cta y que todo estaba resuelto. Agradecí que finalmente el empleado 9 pudiera haberme resuelto mi problema. Hoy veo mi cta y me hicieron el cargo de progresive pues ustedes nunca enviaron la carta que me pidieron firmar y veo tampoco me hicieron el cargo por la diferencia así que llamo y hablo con el trabajador nro 10 quien vuelve con el tema que mi carro es un Hyundai así que no ne pueden dar cobertura contra robo sino adjunto un sistema de bloqueo…???? Me canse ke dije no quiero nada ya, me quedo con progresive que nunca me molesto con nada y me dijo no hay problema ya revertí todo y ahora debe esperar promedio de 14 días para el retorno de su dinero????? Fueron muy buenos para engañarme y cobrarse, no es mi culpa como cliente que ustedes no sepan capacitar a su personal y tengan gente que da distinta información a los clientes….yo solo puedo decir que mi experiencia ha sido la peor, me siento engañada y ahora muy perjudicada pues ustedes tienen mi dinero y según me dicen no me lo devolverán sino dentro de 14 días. Geico is represented by employees who don’t care about their customer.. or maybe certain customers. Despite paying the each month on time, my experiences with Geico staff haven’t been pleasant. Someone stole my vehicle. I was forced to file suite for my non reimbursed stolen property. I was asked to request documents Geico sent me with a reimbursement offer for my vehicle vehicle, along with a mailed request for title transfer. I begged Geico for several months to send the original documents, and the adjuster blew me off for 6 months. After 6 months of the adjuster not fulfilling his word, I finally received the requested doc. That same adjuster didn’t honor his word prior to the previously referenced time. He told me I would be refunded for 8 months of overcharges. I was never refunded.

STAY AWAY
STAY AWAY! I have been a loyal customer since I could drive (17 years). Zero accidents. No late payments. I got into my first collision and they claimed that Collison Coverage was removed. They would not even send a car assessor to look at the damages. I am a Veteran and a hard working single mom...and they showed no good faith. I will NEVER recommend to anyone, because when you need them, they aren't there.

Purchased Home Insurance for a new house
Purchasing a new house can be very stressful. I initially made the mistake to try and solicit home owners’ insurance on the internet either directly through different insurance agents or on-line insurance brokers. This was a big mistake and a nightmare! A very large majority of the on-line inquiries were “Not” very knowledgeable and tried to sell me insurance that made them the highest commission and were in their best interest to “Up-Sell” the highest value of unnecessary and expensive options or upgrades. I physically went to Mr. Greg Hilst, (Owner Geico Insurance in Keller, Texas) office and I felt both blessed and I immediately knew he was on a mission to honestly answer my questions so I could receive the biggest bang for my buck. Mr. Greg Hilst did a great job, he is worth his weight in "Gold". He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and offered me a clear path forward in receiving home owners’ insurance at a fair price. Buying homeowners insurance can be very challenging and stressful, do yourself a favor and call or visit Mr. Greg Hilst, he is not only an expert in selling you the right insurance and offers a “Piece of Mind” bonus at no extra charge. Not Happy With Geico
Hello Geico, we are NOT happy. We have been a customer for over 13 years. Last week we decided to rent a car and take a road trip. We used the company Turo. When booking the car we called Geico to see if the rental was covered, they said yes so we declined the coverage through Turo. We ended up scratching the front passenger side due to dimly lit area and no sensors going off. We provided our insurance to Turo and thought that it would be handled. Geico will not cover the incident! We were informed that shared vehicles are not covered. My question is this - why did the person we spoke with at Geico not ask which company? or If this was a shared service? They would know to ask this more than we would. In addition to that we spoke with a supervisor and requested they find the call (which always seem to be recorded) and listen. They called back 10 minutes later saying "they could not locate the recorded call". BS. This is absolutely ridiculous, in addition it is such a small claim ($2,800). The lack of guidance from Geico in regards to rental cars - I thank God this was not more serious - we would have been financial devastated. So Geico you are losing 2 long time customers. I can not believe that you will not cover this.

Geico is trash. I ran over some pot holes and damaged my wheels. I filed a claim for collision compensation and not only did they deny me that said it was a fraudulent claim and banned me from using Geico ever again. Lol laughable; who cares I’ll just go with progressive. What pissed me off is they never told me they cancelled my policy so I was a month without insurance before I found out only bc I called them. Also the claim was 100% truthful and they were just too cheap to honor my collision coverage a complete waste of money using them. They don’t even honor their coverage. They are the scam! Beware!

Worst customer service ever
I have had GEICO insurance for over 30 years and today was the first time I have ever received the poorest quality of customer service ever from anyone. I tell an adjuster not to contact me again because I am waiting for their supervisor to contact me and the adjuster contacts me again anyways. I call a representative to report it and the claim issue I am having and ask to speak to the representative I just spoke to and she said it was unethical for her to do that because they work as a team. I tell her what happened and for the adjuster not to contact me again and she proceeds to tell me the adjuster or their supervisor will give me a call. I immediately tell her she isn’t listening to me and I prefer to speak to a supervisor. She continues to tell me she can’t send me over unless I tell her why I want to speak to them. I kept saying the reason is because I want to speak to them, very simple. She begins to talk over me and starts yelling and would not stop so I told her I would listen to her once I’m done. She literally kept yelling and talking over me and just hung up. I call back and finally get a supervisor supposedly and they have to try calling me twice after being transferred to them because supposedly a phone issue that I couldn’t hear them. I think it was a put on so not to handle a complaint.

RACIAL DISCRIMINATION. FALSE ACCUSATION from GEICO
I trusted Geico insurance with my auto's insurance policies. This was the WORST decision I've ever made in life. My vehicle was stolen in Dec. of 2019, and I was offered compensation for my stolen vehicle, and Geico requested that I transfer my vehicle title to them before sending the payment. After I transferred the title, they claimed their investigation was pending. They continued to claim their investigation was pending until they finally LIED and claimed I sold the thief my vehicle. I had never met, heard of, nor spoken with the thief of my vehicle prior to finding out the lie that was told on me. As I was traveling back into the U.S.A., I was arrested for the false accusation, and granted bail. I immediately made bail, as the lies that Geico, and the thief told were shown to me. I IMMEDIATELY provided proof of the false accusations, as my airline company showed proof that I was not located in the state the thief claimed I sold him the stolen vehicle in. I also showed other forms of proof of GEICO's FALSE ACCUSATION / DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER placed on me. Even though I was arrested and posted bail, THE SAME warrant is still out for my arrest. I've sent went to the courthouse, and was not threatened to be arrested. This is the shortened version of the RACIAL HATE, DISCRIMINATION, and FALSE ACCUSATIONS from GEICO. Yes I am colored man who has NEVER been to prison. I am a known business owner, and community philanthropist who has NEVER done anything as stupid as Geico claimed I did. GEICO is the WORST insurance company to work with.

Concerning Geico Auto Insurance; I am a verified customer. I switched from State Farm as a result of a lower discounted rate offering. They got me, but now I am hugely regretful because it is the worst customer service I ever experienced and more than double the rate I signed up for, this is the worst experience I ever had in 40 years of driving. After 7 years with Geico they decided to raise our rates several times. Everything is going up right? This last time they tried to raise our rates more than 80% since the last 6 months. With no additional drivers, vehicles or accidents or tickets. Waited 35 mins on the phone to speak with an agent named Carlos who told be its because of inflation. I immediately informed Geico, expecting swift action. 4️⃣ But for the next three weeks, I found myself making daily calls to Geico, desperately seeking help. Each time, I was met with promises that someone would be sent the next day, only to be left waiting. 5️⃣ Finally, after persistently demanding attention, Geico sent an agent who declared my vehicle a total loss. A settlement offer was provided, but it was shockingly $7,000 less than what it should have been. 6️⃣ A month-long negotiation ensued, during which I fought tooth and nail to get the settlement offer within a $500 range of what I deserved. It was an exhausting process that should never have been so arduous. 7️⃣ Just when I thought things couldn't get worse, I went to retrieve my personal belongings from the vehicle at the auto shop, only to discover that Geico had sent it to a junkyard without informing me, even before we had settled the claim! 8️⃣ To add insult to injury, the junkyard was located an hour's drive away, and its operating hours coincided with my work hours. I was left without a car and had to navigate additional difficulties just to reclaim my belongings. 9️⃣ When I finally managed to retrieve my vehicle, I was devastated to find that it had been ransacked. Around $2,500 worth of camping gear and $300 worth of personal belongings were stolen, all under Geico's watch. 1️⃣ 0️⃣ Despite Geico's mishandling of my claim, the premature disposal of my vehicle, and the subsequent theft of my belongings, I expected fair treatment and compensation for the stolen items. However, I have now been informed that Geico has denied my theft claim, leaving me empty-handed and further victimized by this entire ordeal. This level of incompetence, negligence, and disrespect for a loyal customer is absolutely unacceptable. I trusted Geico to handle my insurance needs with professionalism, but my experience has shattered that trust. I implore Geico to take immediate action to rectify this situation: 1️⃣ Conduct a thorough investigation into the mishandling of my claim, including the premature disposal of my vehicle and the theft of my belongings. 2️⃣ Provide proper compensation for the stolen items, totaling $2,800 based on their market value. 3️⃣ Reassess the settlement offer to ensure it accurately reflects the value of my vehicle and compensates for the immense inconvenience and distress caused throughout this ordeal. 4️⃣ Make a formal apology for the complete lack of communication, extensive delays, and overall abysmal service I have endured from Geico representatives. 5️⃣ Take immediate steps to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, as they tarnish Geico's reputation and cause unnecessary harm to loyal customers like myself Geico, I hope you take this public complaint seriously and realize the impact it can have on your reputation. We have been customers for 6 years and they continue to raise rates. They continue to say it’s the best they can do. Unfortunately, it seems like California just has high prices in general but I am cancelling as I found a better policy with more to offer and a lower deductible . Sad that customers who are loyal get nothing in return. Being charged $290 for two cars monthly for 6 months is insane.

After years of being a customer they sent no email that insurance was expiring.Premium was due I pay in full every 6 months. I’ve had no tickets for many years. No accidents, etc. So my drivers license was suspended, for having no insurance. And they increased my rate by 45%. They truly suck I’ve never had a claim I’ve been a customer for 7 years. Soon as I get my license back and pay 150.00 to the state. I will cancel GEICO and boycott for life.

My neighbor backed into my car and told his insurance company not to pay me. I called my insurance geico, just to ask a few questions on how to handle the other company. Next thing I know they opened a claim and it shows up as no payment made. Problem is, I didnt open a claim. I never asked Geico to pay for my damage so. Then, some girl falsely accused me of hitting her car, The police showed up at my door and gave me a driver's exchange sheet which shocked me because I never hit anyone nor did I have damage anywhere on my car. . The girl who said I hit her texted me 5 days later asking me to either pay or she'd call my insurance. I laughed and told her I'm not paying for something that never happened. I stupidly called geico and said if this woman calls do not pay anything, I never hit her. BAM now that call went as a claim on my file so nowi have 2 although false unpaid claims on my report. How can they just put Non meaning I never asked for money to repair anythingi just called inquiring how to deal with these issues Bam, on your record. ? I called another company to get a quote and basically can not get insurance now for under $2,400 every 6 months due to Geicos screwing me over by posting false claims on my record.

If there is a zero star i would put that. I am a travel nurse working in colorado and was in a car accident on January 17th 2023. Police report deemed it not my fault. Other driver's insurance "Geico" took 100% responsibility. Since then i have had nothing but problems with the insurance adjuster. I am a travel nurse so colorado is not my home so therefore i need a rental vehicle. Per law the insurance company of the driver at fault has to cover the other drivers rental until vehicle is repaired. I had to return my rental today because i found out the insurance company stopped paying the rental on May 5th. I was unaware. I called the insurance company and they gave excuse after excuse saying we were reasonable for even giving you this rental this long. Again, i was not at fault for this accident. I am not even from here. I had to come up with almost $800 today plus an additional $200 that I already paid earlier for a rental from this accident. I am again not at fault and just traveling out here for my job. Feels to me like they are doing some illegal things and just want to get compensated the money that i should have never owed. I have been without my own vehicle for almost 5 months and now this. I still don't know how i am going to get to work this week. " i am a healthcare worker" i care for you and your loved ones. The toe truck driver informed us that one of us would have to ( WALK ) HOME!!!!!!!!! I'm a retired Navy Veteran. Shame on you Geico!! When i needed you most you dropped me like a bad habbit. A car hit my parked car. I got a rental through my insurance with enterprise. I spoke with someone about extending my rental and they told me no problem for 30 days and once I spoke with someone else, they told me they can only do two more days. Spoke to the supervisor. He didn’t know anything. He informed me that they are already billing the other insurance company but he couldn’t tell me any information about the other insurance company. They will lie to you and really not help you out. Also, the Adjuster’s took so long to get back to me after leaving voicemails and text messages more than once, with more than one person

I have had geico for 4+ years now. I’ve never had any accidents or problems what so ever. I recently had a fender bender and was at fault, no big deal….or so I thought. Turns out my rates have now doubled. I’ll end up paying the same amount as it did to fix my vehicle so what’s the point. I have friends with major DUIs whose rates didn’t go up as much as mine did after my first accident ever! I called and spoke to a supervisor who told me to find a different insurance company. WOW. Not trying to keep a loyal customer in any way. I’m just shocked and a little mad now. “Save you 15% or more on car insurance” my ass.

No warning for outrageous price increase
After a year of service they jacked my premium up by 600 dollars two weeks before my payment was due abd I no way tried to alert me this would happen. Their reasoning was they added more coverage and that everything has went up. I have an HOA the things they decided to cover are against my HOA I can't even have them. I saved 800 dollars with allstate! 200 dollars less than original quote with Geico.

With my driving record being clean, workingbfrom home and barley driving, my rates keep increasing. I called Geico to see about lowering my rate. I was told they are predicting, that's why rates are going up. Predicting what? I'm being punished because I have a clean record, barley driving because of working from home? I felt offended being told because I'm 50 now I can take self defensive driving course and it will take $6 off. What the heck.. what is $6 going to do when the last few years my premium increased by $80. It is clear they don't care about their customers, when I stated I am goingbto have to look around...ok. wow! There are other companies that off a discount for those who work from home, less driving. Just irritated that they don't care and now have to go through the hassle of looking for a different company.

Geico is by far one of the worst Auto Insurance Companies to work with under almost all circumstances. The wait times on the phone are no less than 1 hr before being able to get through to a human being. GEICO sent me a notice of cancellation due to have an additional driver in my house that was a motorcycle rider and not on my policy. In addition, they decided to assume that my truck was being used as a business vehicle when in fact it wasn't and isn't. It took well over 4 month to get the matter finally resolved after spending countless hours on the phone with Underwriting in Arizona. Underwriting was non-responsive the majority of the time and when they were, the messages in the Geico Portal were not specific as to what they needed. I was forced to call back to get the details from customer service and then attempt to give underwritting what the needed via an email address that department only checks 2x a week. Do not use Geico under any circumstances.

Yea I use to think Geico was great. But 5/5 they took the auto insurance payment out of the wrong account and caused an overdraft which they said was there fault. It’s been 10 days and they still haven’t refunded me the $32 NSF fee and they keep giving me the runaround. Don’t care for there customers. 5/15/23 just sent me email telling me to call so they can expedite the refund. I have called every day since the 5th and my account is still in the negative.

Geico customer for 3 years, filed 1 claim for a scratch / dent on my car while it was parked in front of my home. Figured it was hit when parked. The repair cost was more than my deductible so I asked Geico to close the claim and I would have it repaired on my own. So they denied my policy renewal at the end of my term. Insane that you toss away a customer for a claim the customer closed and cost Geico NOTHING I was a customer with them before years ago seems they have learned nothing

Frustated to death !!!! I have had a claim open for 3 months
I have had a claim open for 3 months. A Geico customer collided with my boat, Ram truck and travel trailer. GEICO has had possession of my truck for 5 weeks and have not paid my claim. I have had multiple adjusters make promises and still no compensation. I have opened a grievance with the Ohio Insurance Commissioner and still no compensation. Short of legal action I seem to have no further recourse. This borders on illegal.

I called because I could not get my vehicle registered. It had been insured for over a month. After over 30 min with customer service I was assured that the car insurance was sent properly to the DMV. I then drove to the DMV and still no proof of insurance in the GEICS . Turns out after another long wait on CS they finally asked what my VIN number was. They had entered the completely wrong VIN number and no one had thought to check that after over an hour of waiting and a useless trip to the DMV. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was not allowed to speak to one. Instead I was getting second had info and another huge waste of time. So disappointed in Gieco.

I've had Geico auto insurance for 5 years now, and they've been absolutely wonderful. They've repeatedly accomodated my needs, provided excellent customer service, and have great storage plan rates for my vehicle when I'm out of the country (and companies that do storage plans for vehicles are few and far between.) The reps have universally been polite and helpful. I highly recommend them.

I have been a loyal Geico customer for several years. Regrettably, an oversight on our part led to a missed auto payment of $69, as we failed to update the card details for the auto-renewal. This was entirely our responsibility. However, two weeks later, we were alarmed to receive a letter—our first correspondence from Geico—informing us that our policy had been canceled two days prior. Unknowingly, we had been driving without insurance for those two days. Despite this being our first late payment after years of consistent and timely payments, Geico not only neglected to provide adequate notification but also proceeded to increase our rates by 25% if we chose to renew. It is disheartening to discover that our longstanding loyalty to the company appears to carry no weight, as we are being treated as if we have a pattern of delinquency. Given these circumstances, we have made the decision to take our business elsewhere.

Had my policy recently cancelled with a 2 month notice before my policy ended due to the ONE incident that occurred a year ago in the 3 yrs I’ve had a policy with them. GEICO ended up having to pay the other party (approximately a $6k bill—they refused to let me see the breakdown of why it cost that much and would not elaborate. I still can’t understand why parts of his tire were repaired when it wasn’t damaged in the accident 🤷🏽‍♀️). This was the only collision type incident that had ever occurred in my driving history, and involved an inexperienced teen driver who should have been deemed liable for his part in the incident. When discussing the cancellation over the phone , a GEICO representative advises me to just reapply in six months and that they’ll take me back; the same thing had happened to her, she said. Yeah, no thanks. Never again.

My wife and I recently moved to Minnesota from Florida. We had lived there 10 years. During that time we had Geico insurance. The only claim we ever submitted was for a windshield. Due to family circumstances, we felt it best to move back to Minnesota to care for elderly parents, and be near our children and grandchildren. we arrived on December 18 and stayed at our sons house until December 20 which was the day we closed on our new home. On the day of the closing, I pulled out of my sons driveway with the moving truck. And in the process, I hit my sons car. I submitted a claim to Geico insurance. After weeks of Very little contact except when I reached out to them. I was sent a letter telling me that they would not pay the claim as I was not in Florida when it happened. I reached out to them, they did not even have the decency to reply to my request. I would recommend anybody who is thinking of getting their insurance through Geico. To stay as far away from them as you can. They’re horrible company who takes your money and then denied your claims. Read the reviews online. You will see that the majority of them are nothing short a terrible.

Car was totaled 3/26/2023. Accident occurred when other car ran Red light and totaled my car. I filed claim that day with Geico. They have given me runaround on paying off my car since then. Today is April 12th and Geico has yet to pay off my car. I was also informed by Geico that they only pay for rental car for 4 days after being totaled. The out of pocket expenses are expensive. Beware of Geico business practices..

Just found out today that Geico is canceling my insurance because I had an accident before 90 days. They only give me a couple of days before they cancel. I asked if everyone gets the same treatment and they said “yes”. Not sure if that’s true but there you go. Thanks for the headache Geico.
