Application Process

If you’d like to apply for a policy online, the first step is to enter your zip code and address into the company’s website. You’ll then need to answer a range of questions related to the property, such as the length of time you’ve been a resident.  You’ll also need to input your personal details in order to receive your quote, which you can choose to have sent to your email address. 

The entire online application process  takes 10 minutes to complete.If you would rather not complete the application process online, you can contact one of the company’s agents by phone. You can find the nearest agent by entering your address details on  Geico’s website.

Discounts

If you also have an auto insurance policy with Geico, you may qualify for discounted rates on your homeowners policy. Once you have purchased your homeowners policy, the company will apply this discount to your auto policy. It’s important to note these discounts are not available in all states. 

Depending on the insurance agent, you may be able to lower the cost of your coverage if your home has smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, or a home security system.

Claims & Customer Support

The quickest way to contact Geico is through its 24/7 virtual assistant, which is available on its website and mobile app. 

Customers can also get in touch with the company via email or phone. The availability of its sales agents may differ according to the state you live in. In the majority of locations, Geico agents are available between 7:00 am and 1:00 am ET on Mondays to Fridays and between 8:00 am and 10.30pm ET on Saturdays and Sundays.     Geico customer please be aware of your new upcoming renewal auto policy. I was informed by a representative of changes in my auto policy effective December. Here is what the increase are below & it goes for all Geico customers as stated by rep. 1)Medical Insurance 2)Rising cost of vehicles 3)Time to repair & replace vehicles 4)Labor Shortages What I need to know from Geico what does this changes have to do with me? I don’t have a medical condition or suffers from one to begin with. No customer medical condition should be the cost of an increase. Customer is already paying a high cost insuring their vehicle because of age, driving history & vehicles year & model. Geico doesn’t want to provide roadside assistance for vehicles over 10 years that is in good condition & driving. This is why customers go for update models vehicles to meet the needs of Geico. I find this to be unfair & cruel for those who cannot afford more than what they can pay. How many Geico customers had their vehicles repair & parts replaced? Not many; Geico required all customers to pay a deductible & still Geico pay the least for repairs. Customers still has to pay any outstanding repair charges. As for labor shortages, Geico is looking at the time a vehicle has to remain in a shop due to shortages of workers. This increase should not be pass on to customers. This is not the fault of any customers & we paid into this at a cost the moment we signed a contract with you. As a customer with for over 19 years, Geico forgot about their loyal customers. I have been ignored by Geico for the past 4years & I think it is time to say goodbye. If Geico need to keep its loyal customers, it is full time they listen to customers. Be more respectful & compassionate. Don’t be that greedy dog who lost his bone.

    Good until you file a claim

    I had a very frustrating experience with Geico, and I want others to be aware of how I was treated, so you can be warned before hiring them. I now know Geico spends most of their money on targeted advertising, rather than paying claims to deserving clients. I was insured by Geico from July 2017 to July 2018. Unbeknownst to me, Geico cancelled my policy due to a single speeding ticket from October that eventually resulted in a short-term suspension of my driver’s license. Geico knew about this for months yet continued to take my monthly premium. Geico says that they notified me by sending a non-USPS certified (guaranteed receipt) letter to my former apartment. I never received notice via an email or a call to my cell phone. In July 2018, I was held at gunpoint at a gas station. The criminals stole my car and wallet from me. It was an incredibly traumatic incident. I had been a loyal Geico customer, one that had never missed a premium payment. When I called Geico to report the claim, it was then that I learned that Geico had canceled my policy EFFECTIVE TWELVE HOURS EARLIER. I want others to know how Geico refused to honor my claim due to this technicality and fine print in a Tennessee state statute. Geico wants the world (especially young people who need to save money) to hire them, hence all of their millions on advertising, but they do not want you to submit a claim. If they can find a way to get out of paying you, they will. They spent thousands and thousands on legal fees fighting against me for 4 years versus doing the right thing and paying my auto theft claim. Please consider this before choosing Geico. Very disappointing.

    Horrible customer service

    Last September I used Geico app to renew my auto insurance policy, on time! I made changes to my policy as needed and then made a payment, or I thought I did. 2 months later I tried to log into the phone app again and it told me I didn't have a current policy with Geico! We've been driving without car insurance for 2 months and they didn't tell me a thing!!! I called but they have no more phone customer service. Best I could do was to chat with them online. They told me the payment was not posted so they cancelled my policy. I asked to re-instate it and they said they did not re-instate CA policies anymore. They said I had to apply for a new policy as a new customer. They were pretty short with me. I asked for a supervisor and the lady by name Tyndesha said, "sure, we have phone customer service, here's the number 800-841-3000". I called and sure enough there was nobody to talk to, just an SMS with the link to the same chat again, catch 22! I can only imagine what would've happened if I needed their roadside assistance. Come to find out they abruptly closed all their CA offices so Californians beware! "GEICO abruptly closed all of its physical sales offices in California last week, telling its customers that its insurance policies in the Golden State from now on exclusively will be handled digitally through the insurance giant’s website or by using its mobile app. The office shutdown, which according to several reports was accompanied by “hundreds” of layoffs, involves 38 offices across the state. At the same time the physical offices closed, the company said it was ending the practice of selling policies through telephone agents in California." Bottom line is: I'm gone to AAA insurance, totally different service. Geico is dead to me.

    Got my auto policy renewal for 2023. Shocked to see a 74.88% increase!!! Called Geico and was told increase due to significant increase in THEIR expenses. I get the fact of an increase, but 75%!? I have sent communication to the NAIC and the BBB.

    Stay far away from Geico!!!!!

    Stay far away from Geico! As long as you pay your premium and they never have to actually do what they advertised everything is ok! The customer service is horrendous and mind as well have been absent!! The only thing they work diligently at is not paying out your claim!!! They didnt even have the correct info on my policy and I had to wait days for that!!! Stay far away from this place!!!! If could leave them a zero, that would be a more deserving review!!

    Beware, scam claims are legit

    I Have been forced to agree that there is something very scam-like going on with Geico. Recently vandalized car left me with a dead clunker, made the report, made the claim. Nothing for days so I decide to chat support only to be told that I've some how never had insurance for the car. Never mind my Proof cards having it and all renewal emails showing it but conveniently it vanished after a claim was made. Likely due to lawyer cost being much higher than the cars value. They lost a customer over $500.

    What’s up with the car insurance when it’s not your fault?!

    After I was in a hit and run, my claim was noted not at fault. After going to the repair center, I was told the car needed to be left that day. I wasn’t on a rental car reservation and decided to bring the car back in a few days. Calling in regarding the process, I was told I had to pay my deductible up front and then they reach out to the other companies insurance to recover the deductible. What kind of insurance does that? I provided the trucking company of which the semi after taking pictures, since he wouldn’t stop. I was told to file a claim with the company myself. Doesn’t the insurance do that for you? Trying to go after the company after I paid $1k, seems like BS. Customer service said “we try hard” to get that money back to you as well as car rental fees. That doesn’t sit well with me. I wish I stayed with State Farm but it was double the cost, but they do handle everything for you before hand not after the fact.

    I am glad that there is such a thing as online reviews. Geico is supposed to be known for good customer service. Well the customer service I received was awful! I have been using them for a lot of years, you would think I would have been treated well.it was just the opposite.there commercials look like there was effort put into them. The effort I received was awful. By the way the commercials are not funny.I called and spoke to a rep.and asked how I could save on car insurance, she said have your kids take defensive driving you will save 400.00 a year, for 3 years.so they took the class. When I got the certificate I called Geico to find out when the discount would start. The other rep. Told me you were told wrong information your not going to save anything. He said the rep made a mistake. So I was out 1200.00 dollars.after I made about 25 calls I spoke to a supervisor named Lorraine from Woodbury Long Island. She said she can’t give me 1200.00, that I was supposed to get but she will refund me 100.00 for the course.the next day she went on a 3 weeks vacation and never sent me the check.so I called 10 more times. The next supervisor said he will send me the 100.00 check overnight. SURE it took 2 weeks. It must have been a long night. The company stinks and has terrible customer service.

    Scam. Person added without permission + $100 rate increase!

    First of all, I should have NEVER switched from Allstate. To keep this short and sweet, another adult 18+ years of age, was added to my policy without my permission. We live at the same address but have absolutely no relation by blood or marriage. BY THE WAY... he has been insured by another company for 3 months now. So I had to go out of my way to remove him and send them proof of his insurance. Pure insanity. This is on top of the fact that after 6 months of being with them they increased my premium by $100.00!! They stated that I had a $2000.00 claim 2 years ago when I was with Allstate. Ummm....you never said anything about this when I signed up for your coverage. I have NEVER had a ticket. Okay, once, but that was over 10 years ago for a non moving violation!!!

    Sneaky Little Husband!!!

    Let’s explain it in terms in which everyone can understand. Let’s say that your husband’s name is Geico. And let’s say that you need Geico for insurance, great, husband takes care of you. That’s fantastic. Years go by, but then you catch him one day taking more money out of your bank account without your consent. Just great, you get a divorce and then you meet another great guy and switch over to him (that guys name could be the name of any other insurance provider) and then the cycle repeats itself. To explain this metaphor, through the years I would switch between 2 different insurance companies because they would raise my rate, and when I’d go to the Boyfriend, he’d offer me $150 less of of the same liability policy that the Husband (Geico) would offer. Then after a year or 2 would pass, then I’d go back to the husband because the boyfriend would do that same exact thing. Do you believe that the Husband and the Boyfriend are closely working together, and they talk with each other behind your back whenever you switch your insurance? One thing is certain, that no matter which man (insurance company) you choose to stay with, they are all after one thing and don’t have your best interest in mind!!! I trust you agree!!!

    We been with Geico for over 35 years

    We been with Geico for over 35 years. They kept raising our rate for no reason at all. They raise twice within a few months. Nothing from our end that would cause the increase. No tickets or claims for 7 years. The increase ended up at 100 extra a month on top of our high rate we had been paying. Use to be a great insurance company. We had to cancel and go elsewhere for insurance.

    Complete scam

    Complete scam. Three claim adjusters reached out all with different stories and outcomes. The roof of my trailer was damaged due to wind and separated during towing which is covered under the plan but they denied my claim because I don’t Calk my entire trailer even if not needed yearly. The manufacturer suggest inspecting every three months and caulk as neededI I do regular inspections and constant maintenance on my trailer. My claim was denied not only will I be canceling my auto insurance also my home insurance through Geico. What’s the point of having insurance if they try to weasel their way out of paying claims. Say goodbye to a long time customer who has never filed a claim.

    After being with them for 22 yrs

    After being with them X22 yrs, Homeowners went up from $1800/yr to $3500 from 2020-2022. Uses only one company to write policies in AZ. No competition . Auto was ridiculously overpriced I found out, after looking for another homeowners policy. Apple to apples my homeowners went down to $1,100 yr. My auto went from $950 to $330. For identical coverage with top rated co. We are 60 years old.

    Worst insurance company to trust in…

    Worst insurance company to trust in need of coverage. It's obvious to see by all the reviews before mine...I paid Geico $380 per month for coverage of only 2 vehicles. An incident occurred, and the service of the adjuster was so horrible. Lack of communication, excuse after excuse about why the claim wasn't complete yet. Horrible experience. I will never trust these people again.

    Was treated with racism. Called roadside assistance telling them I was in Georgia and I got raped. The black lady laughed when i called about problems with car. Then I called roadside assistance and the black lady said I didn't have roadside. My car was towed and I was raped in GEORGIA. I paid $110 just to have roadside. Allstate is the bomb.     I can't stand geico

    I can't stand geico. They talk about saving people money but Every time I had to renew my insurance my bill would go up. I understand inflation is going on But the reasons for raising my bill because other people in my area? It just sucks when you're trying to do the right thing and try to make your bill cheaper and yet that's the reason they give you.. It's wrong for any insurance company to do that I might not know everything but I think that's robbery. When I would try to see what I could do to lower my bill they wouldn't work with me but then the day I called to cancel it they wanted to talk business than.

    Terrible Service in the End

    Geico was okay for a while, but several things happened that made me feel like I was not valued or appreciated as a customer. The first thing is that my rates went up by about $30 per month. This is insane. I get that you need to adjust sometimes to keep the coverage reasonable for people but $30 is ridiculous! Why would you do this right in the middle of a recession?? Do you not care how this would affect others? I found it to be a very greedy and selfish move on your part so shame on you. The second reason is because I was signed up in Bank of America auto pay for Geico. NEVER AGAIN!!! Once the rate went up, I was kicked off the policy because it wasn’t the right amount. I was double charged. They did send a refund luckily for the original amount, but it was a HUGE HASSLE figuring out why I was kicked off the policy In the first place. On top of that, I was never told I needed to cancel the Bank of America auto pay since I was told by a Geico agent that I would not be charged again, so it did not cross my mind. Luckily a refund was issued to me on that. Last but not least I tried to get on with a manager about keeping the rates down. My mom was on the call trying to help me out (I have Asperger's and struggle with this stuff) and when she started talking the guy was very rude and told her that he was not talking to her, that he was talking to me instead. I found this behavior very unprofessional. I got frustrated and when my mom tried to explain my condition, he wouldn't listen and hung up like an a**hole. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I was able to get coverage with the same package for the same price at Liberty Mutual for $30 less a month. The way I was treated was absolutely unacceptable too and I hope you lost a lot of customers with your rates going up. Rates should NOT have gone up by such a significant amount, especially with how high the cost of living has become. Rethink your policies and the way you treat customers because if this happened to me, it’s probably happening to a lot of other people too. Perhaps you should spend a little less on advertising that stupid gecko in your commercial and instead put some money into training your employees to be more helpful and more importantly, RESPECTFUL to their customers.

    When your adjuster is a DISASTER…

    This is a review based on my recent experience with GEICO and specifically an adjuster named Dave Harris (hi Dave — you knew this was coming). It’s gonna be long because I wanted to include all the important details and for the record — I never write bad reviews, I think it’s a waste of time. But THIS… well, it was too much of a fail for me not to share. My Mercedes GLC300 was at a repair shop for a damaged front bumper when the shop got flooded. My car’s engine took water and the shop took it to a nearby Mercedes dealership to seek their professional advice on the status of the car and its possibility to be repaired. When I spoke to the shop, they told me they recommend that the car is deemed a total loss, and Mercedes reconfirmed that same information a few days later. GEICO’s adjuster Dave Harris was nice at first, but quickly stopped communicating with me, ignored my messages (“I didn’t get anything”) and overall personally contributed to me bearing significant financial losses in this process. Dave estimated the car’s value (~31,000) and said that it’s too high for it to be a total loss — and the repairs will be way less than the car’s value. He said they can arrange for a replacement of an engine — either a used engine (4k) or a refurbished engine (5k) and I will be good to go. When I asked if I would be able to sell the car when the time comes, I was assured that it wouldn’t be a problem. Now mind you — it’s the first car I financed; and I never had to deal with a flooded car (hopefully won’t ever again) and I really did not know what the process would be like. I sought professional advice from multiple people — who used to work in insurance, who fix European cars, car sales reps, and everyone told me it was insane that he would not total the car. I was lucky to get a connection at the Mercedes’ dealership and they told me to move my car there asap so only Mercedes’ handles my repairs. Then additional damage was found, and here let’s do the math (Dave — get a pen and a paper). The engine that was installed into my car by Mercedes’ was 26,000 — yeah guys, these engines are not meant to be 5k, the initial repairs were 3,800, and here we’re getting painfully close to 30k. I asked Dave again if he believed at that point the car was going to be a total loss and he insisted that it wasn’t. So when they found that extra additional damage — let’s just say that GEICO ended up spending well over 31k which was the estimated value of my car. Great job, Dave! I’m sure GEICO was delighted to have to spend 31k on a car that was still sucking out more money out of them! Oh by the way when I spoke to Mercedes’ techs explaining what was going on and why my car was being brought to them — they said “Please don’t tell us your adjuster is Dave Harris?” Whoa, Dave, you’re famous! He also took his sweet time coming to the dealership knowing the repairs were being held off due to additional damage found — KNOWING that I was out of my rental coverage and was paying for my car rental out of pocket (which ended up being almost 1k). When brought to his attention, he said that GEICOs policy. And when later on I asked him why he would not tell me that selling my car with a bad CARFAX and a used engine stuck into it “wouldn’t be a problem” he responded with a “well, it’s not IDEAL…” Oh? Zero work ethic, zero professionalism, zero care for customers — I don’t think GEICO is looking to associate with all that? In short, Dave Harris is an individual who continuously insisted on not totaling the car (oh did I mention that other GEICO representatives also told me it should have been totaled? It could have been so easy, yet Dave was the person who made it difficult for everyone. The repair shop, as well as Mercedes’ dealership reasoned with him that it wasn’t the right decision but hey, what does Mercedes’ know about their cars, right? So that being said, not only did he fail to do his job properly, I will also be looking to switch to a different insurance company. Yeah Dave, extra points. It’s a shame that GEICO has representatives that are such a fail. If they’re your insurance company — honestly, pray Dave Harris will never be the person you deal with. If you’re shopping for insurance, please don’t chance it. I also know of two other people whose cars got damaged in the same flood — one of them being a 200+k car, and both were totaled by GEICO. So it’s not so much the company as a whole but it’s specific employee(s) and I was probably just “lucky”. Yeah people I tell this story to can’t believe the car wasn’t totaled. Everyone is a in total disbelief. Hope this was helpful. Hope GEICO does something to fix this mess but then again, they already lost me as customer.

She has full coverage & has never been in an accident before they told her there not giving her a penny for her car after they towed it for an appraisal told her it was free now she has to pay for everything after telling her everything is all set it's all taken care of then tell her the cameras weren't working at the intersection when they're ALWAYS WORKING there's a bank across the street that has 24hr recording cameras they can get a warrant yo collect the video footage but they're too busy to send anyone there to do that & even told her even though she'been with GEICO & has been paying full coverage for 20yrs she's not covered on a hit and run because geico can't do their job told her her car will get towed for no charge to get appraised then turn around & tells her the next day after her car was towed that her car isn't being appraised its actually being auctioned off now & she has to pay for the tow now plus the rental fees & all of her medical bills etc.... they took absolute FULL ADVANTAGE OF HER & after telling her everything is all set she doesn't have to pay anything now she has to pay everything out of her pocket it's absolutely so unbelievable what GEICO did to her DO NOT CHOOSE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY ..... when they told her, her policy has accident forgiveness, rental coverage, medical bills etc... now they turn around & tell her even though she pays for FULL coverage now NOTHING is covered.... My mother n law is beyond upset, she had an anxiety attack, she's beyond depressed now, and her mental health is so off balance now after telling her everything is all set she doesn't have to pay a thing then turns around and tells her she had to pay for everything now and my mother in law said well there's no money on my account and Stephanie said well will overdraft your account so one way or another you'll be paying for itone way or another!!

    Something weird with this company. They had been avoiding reimbursing me for a towing cost for 40 days. Finally, I complained enough that they finally sent me a direct form for the covered reimbursement. I asked the representative, why am I only just being sent this now if this was possible all along? The representative quickly made up some bizarre excuse that she was making an exception for me (even though other agents previously confirmed the whole reimbursement total would be covered) and swiftly hungup. I was baffled. They deflected from any idea that they were holding my money from me, so I can only assume that was their goal all along. They probably bank on customers forgetting about reimbursements they are owed. This has shattered my experience with Geico, and I will now be advocating for others to switch their insurance as well so they can avoid this immature and unprofessional & experience. Wow, I even just gave another phone call to let them know I'd be leaving a poor review and would be switching insurance unless they wanted to dissuade me and justify the experience. The rep was super rude and just turned it all around on me. I asked her to look at my history with Geico, but she was not interested in getting my policy number to so do. She mentioned that she didn't have it to check, but when I explained that she never asked for it, she still never did. Obviously, getting the policy number and checking my history with Geico meant nothing to her. Yikes. Sad and disappointed with this experience. Been a long time with Geico. Will need to look elsewhere.

    Geico is the worst insurance company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. Let me compare Geico service to another insurance company to fully illustrate just how awful their service is. I switched from USAA to Geico 6 years ago when I got married. I had been with USAA for probably 15 years and had always been happy but getting married it made sense to put us both on the same policy. My premiums have always been paid on time and in my 32 years of driving I have only had 3 insurance claims, one of which is the reason for this review. I was driving home when out of nowhere a large deer jumped in front of my car that I had just purchased. I literally made the second payment on the car the day before the accident. I had the car towed back to town and began the nightmare of dealing with this insurance company. Even though I was the one in the accident they have never spoken with me, only my husband. They have never even asked if I was injured. When we asked about a rental since I still need to be able to get to and from work was told we didn’t have that option on our policy. A week later we finally started getting communication saying that my car had depreciated in value $5,000 in two months, the tires were bad, and the car was “mostly clean”. This is a car didn’t have a scratch on it prior to the accident. This car looked like it did the day it left the dealership. They sent us comps that not only were not even in the same part of the country, but the comps booked more than what they were offering us until they did some magical math to make every car worth less than what they dealerships were asking. So now it looks like after years of collecting premiums and safe driving when I need my insurance company to live up to our agreement and cover my car they are not going to. I will be out not only the $2,000 I out down but the $2,000 to license the car and still owe another $2,000 on the car loan. Let’s compare the customer service from Geico with USAA. About 10 years I was involved in a hit and run accident with a drunk driver. USAA handled everything! Their first question was “Are you ok”? They arranged for my car to be dropped off at the repair shop of my choice and arranged for a rental car. All I had to do was sign for the rental car. They made what was a scary, terrible situation feel like I wasn’t alone, like we were part of a team and in this together rather than the Geico situation where I am having to fight for them to cover anything.

Yes, I have claim, for windshield replacement, and representative I talked about this issue insured me that my premium will not be affected. And now it is up 40% .     Had them for 18 years, they have gone down hill. Rate hikes twice in two months almost $200 more for a 6 month policy. Not worth it anymore. Go to USAA, or State Farm way cheaper same coverage. 18 years I filed a handful of claims, a couple of weather and one windshield. You call to speak to them and all you get is well sorry nothing we can do call us back in 6 months... Call back in 6 months.. I gave you 18 years of loyalty and you have nothing else. It horrible because they used to be good with military, USED to be.

    Scammer like tendencies

    First off, I only chose Geico because they initially gave me a quote I would save money vs. my previous insurance company’s quote. The agent told me I HAD to add my partner she did not ask me if I was married she just said I had no option I had to add him. Then she says that it will be $300 more than the previous quote they gave me bc he got a ticket in 2020. Ok so I try to take him off and they said I had to then pay an extra $250 because he was saving me money. Then I say ok we’ll just don’t take him off then because it doesn’t make sense to pay more with him off of it. She already took him off so I couldn’t go back I’d be charged $250 next month. Confused? Yeah me too. Another issue I had at the same time is that I tried to add my brother to my policy with his own vehicle but the agent at the time said it wouldn’t let them add him bc his drivers license was not active (it was and is active) she said she would figure out what was wrong and give me a call back at a specific date and time. I didn’t get a call back. Then I see on my Geico app that I have a payment due next month for ~$220. I make 6 month payments ahead of time I shouldn’t owe them a cent. So I call and looks like the agent went ahead and added him without telling me, no email, no call, nothing! He got his own insurance through Allstate. I totally gave up on putting him on my insurance bc she never called me back anyway. The agents are not clear and that can cause lots of issues as you see here. Train your agents better, be transparent, and stop over charging people.

    Dropped after years of being with GEICO

    After years of being with GEICO, they cancelled our policy without telling us! They of course said they sent notice in the mail, but had no answer as to why we had no emails or texts as those were our regular form of communication. Also no phone calls. We also get emails of what's in our mail for each day, and there was never any such letter. Apparently here's what we did wrong, because we have never had accidents or even tickets. We simply added our teenage daughter to the policy. A straight A college student with no accidents or tickets. The customer service agent said GEICO didn't want to take on that risk. You couldn't ask for a better "risk" for a young driver. Oh and she's had her license for over a year and a half! I heard from the agent that this has happened to so many Geico customers too. She said a lot of her day is spent being yelled at by angry ex-customers! I didn't yell at her. I know the problem is much higher than her. Maybe Geico is experiencing problems with too many young drivers. I don't know. But the whole thing seems like negligence to me. From whatever reason they used to drop us to the way they did it. I'm sure their lawyers and lobbyists have found the proper loopholes to put them in the clear, but they are a shady business that hates their customers. I don't know what else to say, except there's no way I would ever go back, and no way I could ever recommend anyone use their insurance. What a fraud!

    My car was hit on August 31st. I have a witness, time and date stamped photos of person's geico card as well as their registration and admitted they did it. Geico said they tried for a week to contact them, your claim's department then gave up and ignored all of the evidence I had and said I was out of luck. Lesson being just blow off geico for a week and you don't have to pay for the claim and neither does Geico. I'm a Geico customer, who defends me? This was a lousy experience.

    I have been with GEICO for years- im not on auto pay, so they inundate me with payment dues via text, email and paper mail- even though Im digital only. 2 weeks ago they mailed my new policy cards to me, followed by a letter last week telling me they canceled my policy August 28 - 2+ weeks after my renewal OUT OF THE BLUE - cancelled ! For a double payment that had gone through in JULY. I disputed only ONE of the payments but geico redacted one of the double payments as well, so neither were paid- The day I found this out, I paid it again and have proof it clearing on august 9... I have sent ARFAX MULTIPLE screen shots of the one disputed for the double payment July 26th- and the cleared payment August 9th. I still have no insurance and it is now September 22nd I have emailed them a dozen times and spoken with a dozen reps --all for them to tell me what I already know- a glitch happened between the companies but they are holding me accountable even though I paid it...again! I thought, Ill just pay it a 3rd time so I at least have my insurance and it will get worked out- only now GEICO will only accept a FULL ONE TIME PAYMENT of 900$ to reinstate me-- AFTER BEING WITH THEM FOR YEARS!!!! AND THIS BEING A TECHNICAL EROR NOT OF MY DOING!

I have been with geico for well over 25 years.  My husband is in the hospital with covid, possibly dying.  I called to let them know I cannot get them a form signed by my husband & notarized right away.     I had Geico for many years, when it renewed this year my policy went up $30.00 a month, no tickets, accidents in many years. I called and was told rates went up in Georgia this year, changed to Progressive (cheaper than Geico before they went up). I told my co-worker about it and he said,"oh mine went down" so maybe rates didn't go up for everyone in Georgia (guess the representative lied to me). Everything worked out in the end since I am saving more with Progressive, thanks Geico!

    I was hit from behind, by an apparently uninsured driver. Geico, my insurer has done virtually nothing to help me since. While the phone representatives have all been professional and courteous, they have collectively given me incorrect information more than once, and their claims area has done the absolute minimum, and then only after my prompting, to get my claim taken care of. I'll admit, I was hard on the representative I just spoke to. They make only one guarantee at Geico--they will do everything they possibly can to make a profit. It doesn't matter how long you have been their customer.

    I have been with Geico for years. Combined policies single policies. I decided I was going to sell my Harley Davidson and cancel the insurance.. Today I told the insurance company Geico that I want to undo that and they told me because I had already stated that I was going to sell the bike that they could not redact the decision. So I told them you’re telling me that I wanna pay you money continue to go with Geico and you won’t cover me now ? Been with Geico off and on for 20 years and never missed a bill always made my payments on time never an accident. But you’re telling me you won’t cover me now. This is why I’m going with progressive and I’m going to cancel my car insurance with Geico. They’re impossible to deal with and they refuse to flex on their policy. Let me tell you about progressive. If I cancel my policy today and tell progressive that I’m selling it then I return in a month and say I’m going to keep it progressive will insure me. Geico and your stupid policies . They lie ! Boy howdy you miss a payment and they get all over your ass . Emails letters phone calls saying that your payment is late even the automatic payment system saying that you’re late yet I just made a $90 payment two days ago. How the hell can I be late Geico!

    Happy with the people on the phone!

    It takes a little while before you have them on the phone but when you do they’re super helpful and friendly. It was very easy to set my car insurance up and my foreign drivers license was no problem at all. I only wanted car insurance for six months but after six months I got a bill for the next 6 months. When I called them, within 5 minutes they had it cancelled and I did not need to pay the bill I received. Happy with the insurance agents for sure!

    Geico just lost a customer of 11 years

    I have had the same full-coverage auto insurance policies with Geico for 11 years. After their complete lack of support/customer service this week, I have chosen to take my money elsewhere. Not only was there no associate for me to talk to during normal business hours (is it because they laid off all of California?) but they made it IMPOSSIBLE to renew my auto insurance policy simply because it had lapsed at the 6 month mark before I was able to renew it. Most insurance companies give you at least a couple weeks to reinstate. Not Geico. So, I called the number I was told to call. The robot on the phone told me to go online to reinstate the policy, so I did. But I couldn’t just reinstate it. I had to reenter EVERYTHING from scratch and was ready to pay (mind you it was $16 more per month than I had been paying for 11 years) I got the following message in very tiny font: “Thank you for your interest in purchasing a GEICO policy. At this time, we need to complete an underwriting review which can take up to 15 business days. You will not have insurance at this time.” Not quite sure what that meant but I clicked ok and then they asked me for payment! Had I not read that message thoroughly, I could have been in huge trouble without car insurance. I’ve emailed and tried to call to get a live person but I just keep get referred to the online robots. I’m a young person, I’m tech savvy, but sometimes you just really need to talk to a human for some guidance. Geico has really dropped the ball here with their lack of customer service. And a decade-long Geico veteran is throwing in the towel and going with an insurance company who cares about me. Good riddance.

    Please offer customer service and empathy training to your claims supervisors…at least in Hampton Roads. I’ve been a customer for 13 years and just had the worst experience EVER! Basically I was not told when my rental car allowance expired. I was told by Jason Rose- the Supervisor of Hampton Roads Geico that letting their customers know about how many days remaining is a “courtesy” and it’s up to the customer to keep track of the balances with @Enterprise. 🤯 Never in my life have I heard such a thing. He was so arrogant and nasty with his conversation. Of course I called the 800# to speak to someone higher. Tichina answered and listened to my concerns. She was very kind and empathetic and got my message to Ashley Shockley who called me immediately. Ashley was empathetic assured me that I was supposed to be notified by GEICO and that they dropped the ball. I appreciate both Tichina and Ashley’s empathy and great customer service that caused me to remain a loyal customer of GEICO. I was about to call @Allstate because I would like to be in good hands 🙌🏽, but they reassured my faith in GEICO!

    Have been with geico for 10 years, 64 years old, 758 beacon score, last ticket 25 years ago, never have been in a accident, bought a new, used car needed full coverage, quoted me 133.oo , i knew my neighbor paid 78.00 for full coverage, but agents couldnt tell me why, so i changed ins. companies, got double the coverage i had with geico for 84.00. about 5-6 days later i get a letter showing they did a soft credit hit and one peice of info said i didnt have a revolving installment account that must be why i got the 133.00 what a huge joke and sorry way to loose great customers.

    Customer service is abysmal. I had to submit a claim and every agent I spoke with offered me different and contradicting information. They never call back when they say they will. And then a new agent will answer my call when I call and just apologize and say they’ll look into it now. Have been dealing with one claim for over 5 months now. And now I get mails from the other party asking me to pay them or give my insurance information when Geico said they were already in contact with their insurance. Never dealt with such poor customer service from such a large company before. Definitely planning to change my insurance soon.

    Horrible experience with GEICO

    I recently went through a horrendous experience with GEICO accident appraiser and adjuster duo in which my experience was way beyond explaining in a few sentences or a few paragraphs. I am planning to write to the board of directors in Geico and show them how nasty, dishonest, disrespecting and irresponsible employees Geico may have on its pay rolls and irresponsible it’s mid level management could act to its customers who need help in addressing their grievances. I am spending time finding other companies to switchover after being with Geico for over 20 years. I currently have policies with Geico and paying premium in access of 12 or 13 thousand dollars a year. New comers please do your homework before accepting Geico as you insurance agency. However, Geico has an exceptionally good first level of sales agents that you will normally when discussing anything about your policies. I wonder if policy creating part of the manage to makes distinction in selecting people to work as sales agent and intentionally chose offensive and repulsive people to fight claims so that Geico can cut down on payments, who knows!

    I had been with them for 20 years. They changed my policy due date and my policy without my consent. I moved and they did not honor the grace period. I have to take this to another level. No one should change or charge without consent, consumers have rights.

    I'm switching insurance companies

    I'm switching insurance companies. I had my car hit by a drunk driver on a motorcycle IN APRIL WHILE I WAS ASLEEP IN BED. It is now late August, and I'm still going back and forth with them. They're trying to tell me the windshield and windshield wipers were not apart of the accident, where there is a scuff from a boot from where the motorcyclist broke his leg on my windshield. They're trying to make me pay out of pocket for damage sustained in the accident, in which my car was parked on my own property for.

    We have been with Geico for 13 years

    We have been with Geico for 13 years. Our policy covers my husband 54, myself 49, and my 2 sons 22 and 20. We had 4 vehicles on the policy, 2 $40k+ vehicles for my husband and myself and 2 max 7k vehicles for our sons. Geico, in their infinite, wisdom decides who the main drivers on each vehicle is and instead of allowing us to assign the correct drivers to the correct cars, they have a "system" that "randomly" assigns the main driver "and they can not manually override it". Oddly enough, their system decided that the 22 and 20 year old drivers (the 20 year old has an accident on his record) were driving the $40k cars and the 2 50 year old's were driving the POS's. Nevermind that one of the vehicles is ACTUALLY legally registered to our 20 year old, still their system claims the 20 year old is driving MY car. Needless to say, suddenly our insurance went up and after 4 calls we were unable to actually get this fixed. It used to be that you could go online and change it in the app and unethically, they changed that option. I can not get over what crooks they are and how unethical this practice is.

They did not investigate or even help me negotiate with the rental agency. I had to do all myself. Now stuck with car not worth what I am paying for. Don't be a customer to this company

    I had the worst ever Geico rep called Shereen handle my claim and it has been a nightmare. She is very rude and disrespectful and not helpful at all.. Immediately she was assigned to my claim she denied it without even requesting for evidence from both parties and was out of office for a week. I tried as many times to get in contact with a supervisor and I wasn't able to get a hold any. She came back from her break to deny the whole claim. I then asked her to at least see my damages and her customer damages before making a decision. Days after, she came back to offer me 25% for my damages after I went to the customer address and took pictures of her car. I told 25% is not acceptable for my damages and I need to speak to her supervisor. She then told me to have a good day and hanged up on me. Please get a dash cam installed dealing with these insurance companies because they are know getting terrible. I will definitely get a lawyer to represent me and everyone should avoid Shereen and her company Gieco!!

    I’m over 25 years Geico customer I had the worst experience with Geico customer service representative her name is Ms Melissa . She kept me over 22 minutes without any solution. When I tried to remove one of my three vehicles she said you have to pay us for the car that’s being removed, I asked her over and over Ms Melissa had no Idea why? The car is in my name not by someone she’s mixed up with. It’s nightmare. Unfortunately She’s the worst .

    After over a decade of service Geico denied renewal because I added my now 17yo son to the policy. I was told I could renew if I signed something indicating that my son wouldn't drive either of our cars. My son has been driving for a year+ with no accidents, infractions, tickets. "In order to exclude XXXXXXXX from your policy, use the button below to electronically sign the NDE form on our secure website. Please note that once a driver is excluded, they will not be covered under this policy as outlined in the NDE. That means that if they choose to drive any motor vehicle they risk being an uninsured motorist." Around 5 years ago I backed into a pole with a rental car and damaged the bumper. Geico drug their feet paying on the claim, and I was nearly sued by the rental company and had to pay out of pocket for their legal fees to avoid it. Geico is great as long as you don't actually need insurance.

    Don't get in an accident with their policyholders. Poor management!

    Poor management and organization. Recently my vehicle was hit by one of their policyholders and all the representatives I came in contact with was terrible and incompetent. The insurance claim check and other documents received was mistakes on both my NAME and ADDRESS. I had correctly then with a representative over the phone, only to find MORE mistakes. This process made it difficult to deposit the check since the name was never corrected. They refuse to give me 30 days for a rental, instead I had to call Enterprise every other day to ask for an extension. Once the 30 days are over, I had to contact the insurance adjuster for an extension of the rental. They NEVER once contacted me to tell me that it is approved so leaving me contacting Enterprise, AGAIN. A rep from Enterprise told me this claim had unlimited amount of days for the rental and cannot reason to why Geico is not granting it to me without having to call. Now the auto damage adjuster is no longer handling my claim and forwarded me someone else's information to contact. Never was able to get in contact with this person-- now I'm worried because their poor management will leave me with out of pocket expenses for a rental that should be covered by them.

    Unfortunately I have to click one star to start this process. I have tried unsuccessfully to stop the renewal of my renters insurance. I am living overseas and called the Heico number for overseas customers. They could not connect me to an agent in the US. I just want to stop my policy renewal. I will probably have to cancel the card I used to do this. Why does it have to be so complicated?

    Buyer Beware

    Buyer beware, don't purchase emergency road side assistance or emergency expense coverages. Twice we have tried to use our emergency road side assistance to have the Geico Representative not be able to find help for us. Each time we had to find our own tow company. The tow company from yesterday 8/2/22 was actually contracted with Geico and Geico never called them. We were stuck along the highway in 105 degree weather and the Geico representative just told us to find our own town company and hung up. I tried to use the Emergency Expense coverage and was told by the representative when I added the coverage that if I could not use my motorhome for any reason I could use this coverage for hotel etc. When I called to verify the coverage and how to use it, three representatives told me I have $1,000 coverage, but no one could tell me what I can use it for or how to use it. I was then transferred to a rep that told me I could only use this if I had a comprehensive or collision claim. No one was able to show me in writing what this coverage is or how to use it. Don't purchase emergency road side assistance or emergency expense coverage as Geico changes what and how to use these coverages when you need them.

    AWFUL INSURANCE COMPANY. If you ever get your vehicle stolen, they will make you feel like a criminal. I had to do 3 separate statements, send my call, and TEXT logs to the GEICO representative and when asked for some sort of guideline for how they make their decision, they said they didn't have anything to give me. I have canceled my GEICO insurance and will never recommend this company to anyone.

    Buyer BEWARE CHAOS GEICO

    I HAD been a customer for 6 years with no issues... Until I needed to use my policy. Earlier this year my car was hit while parked in a parking lot. Geico sent me to a collision company to have my car repaired. While in that company's care they damaged my car. After 6or 7attempts to get my car fixed from the damages done from the Collision company, I incurred out of pocket expenses that Geico should have reimbursed me. However to date I am still waiting for Geico to reimburse me for rental car expenses ($190.00) that I was covered under my policy for. Fighting with Geico for almost 7 months now is ridiculous. Customer service is a joke people don't know information that they should know. Fighting to get supervisors and or managers to communicate with you to resolve issues difficult, and the lack of communication within Geico itself is absolutely ridiculous, unacceptable, unprofessional, and makes for Unnecessary chaos. Numerous different people calling for the same information that is already been in the file and yet nobody seems to know it. I was given information apparently accidentally that informed me GEICO was not going to renew my policy in August, I was told this back in April or May. So to cover myself I immediately started shopping for car insurance with the same coverage that I had with Geico. I found Direct Auto Insurance with the same coverage that I had with Geico is $42 cheaper and I immediately got insurance with them. Geico should really invest their money in proper training of their customer service people, interface their computer Communications better which would cut down on the chaos and the unprofessionalism. I suggest Shop around before dealing with CHAOS GEICO

    They dropped our insurance because my husband had a medical DL suspension a year ago. But he has been cleared with CA to drive for a year now and they just canceled him. Very dissatisfied after being a customer for so long.

    I highly recommend Geico

    Yesterday I stop by Geico local office on 1920 E Serene Ave, LV to check it out and perhaps get a quote. I was helped by Arely V., excellent insurance agent. She took time to understand my needs and give me a good advice. I have been AFI policy holder for many years, but the same day I decided to switch to Geico and I wish I had done it long ago. Arely V. is very professional and experienced agent, I feel lucky meeting her. Thank you Arely, and yes, Geico saves us money!

    I wish i can give no star but i was not given that option. Anyway Geico is horrible at claims, they find everyway to not pay for damages, but when it is time to debit my account they do that on time each month. I have rodent chewed up the harness wiring in my truck I took it to the Toyota Dealer in Clermont 3 weeks ago from today's day 7/27/22 and my truck is still at the dealer. Between the Geico adjuster and Toyota Service department they playing games with my life. I have borrow my neighbor's truck to go to what i have to do. Geico try everyway not to pay I been a customer for over 15 years and this is the service I get? This is how Geico treat customer their customer? The dealer said the harness wire/manfold needs to replaced but Geico wants to repair not replace it is all a game to the dealer and Geico forget about the customer. Not good business.

    So I switched to geico for my auto insurance then was convinced to bundle it with a rental insurance. I was told they would be on autopay and that would be the end. 1 year later I found out that my renter insurance has lapsed. I called customer service asking why and all the guy kept saying is you didn’t request auto pay. Why would I have auto pay for one and not the other. They were bundled together and I spoke with a rep about auto pay. The guy kept repeating himself saying he doesn’t know why but he knows I didn’t request auto pay. I even checked my email and the email said it would auto renew. The representative was not helpful, unapologetic, and clueless. I will not be sticking with Geico.

    This insurance company is not their for thier coustomers. They have poor coustomer service skills and are always in to get more money from coustomers. My insurance policy was due at the 18th of every month usually you have 10 days of grace period to pay they cancelled me on the 19th wanting to months worth instead of one month.I called 4 times got the run around no one was compliant to help not even a supervisor.     Geico îs actually the worst!

    So, despite having a ton of evidence otherwise Geico paid out a lying piece of garbage $10000!!! for doctor's visit to determine there was no bodily harm. I was going 7 MILES an hour passing a bus, there was NO DAMAGE to my car and a small dent in her rear passenger door. But they paid her and then increased my monthly by 33%!!!! without telling me! This was my first ever accident and I am 50 years old. They will not work with me on this absurd rate and I think they SUCK. So please shop around because you will be penalized for your honesty!

    I'm with Gieco and they are garbage

    I'm with Gieco and they are garbage. They put me down as at fault on a accident and the officer even wrote not at fault in his report and the other driver admitted to hitting me on my Harley, the other driver showed me and the officer a delinquent policy so I still had to pay my deductible to. Yet they still jacked my rates up over something I have proof I'm innocent on. They raise your rates mid policy which should be illegal. I hate Geico insurance company. They are thieves. Then to try to screw us all more they come up with there "safe driver" program which is a absolutely privacy invader and double edged sword, you start worring about saving money and stop actually driving, how to create unsafe drivers is what they should call it... I've been looking at qoats from other companies

    I was a long time customer of Geico and had the service through a couple auto accidents. I had good service and they took care of me for the most part. I eventually switched to another provider (USAA) because they were able to bundle property and auto policies which saved me a significant amount of money.

    GEICO does not cover your vehicle, i don’t care what they tell you, what the website says, or anything im TELLING YOU GEICO is the worst. I bought their services same day i my car 5 mins later i got in a accident guess what ? They didn’t cover it even though i was the one that got hit, they are quick to deny claims, they will tell you that’s your car wasn’t covered by them if your accident and start quiet time is too close. They are the real scammers that’s why they lost 175m this year because they are complete trash and it’s easy for any insurance company to beat them in court. I had 2 accident under their insurance and quite frankly i should’ve stayed with Progressive

    BEWARE: It is hard to cancel your policy

    Trying to cancel my policy on the website... After going through all 10 reasons why I don't need car insurance, their "error" message is "There are many reasons to keep your policy active even if you don't own a vehicle. Please contact us by chat to discuss your options." So I pull up their chat. Got all the same questions from the website. After finally getting someone live on the chat... 'Olivia' won't respond in the chat to my cancelation request. Is this a joke? Am I supposed to spend the next 30 mins on the phone to cancel my insurance?

    Can't change incorrect policy information on homeowners policy for partner agency at either GEICO or directly at policy site. Wait for GEICO customer service is 40 minutes even on virtual site which was zero help. Car claim, incorrect information given. Wasted my time going to the location GEICO referred me to which didn't do estimates only took pictures that I could have sent myself. No reason to go to a GEICO contract location when any repair place could have taken the pictures if GEICO wouldn't except mine. Adjuster never physically looked at car. GEICO is not the customer service company it was in the past. After 20 years, I'm looking for a new provider for all my policies.

    Dissapointed.

    My car has now been in the shop for two months after hitting a pothole because my adjuster Sean Julius has repeatedly lied to me, 'accidentally' given me misinformation about my tow policy, and ignored my calls/messages. His supervisor Shane Gray has done nothing to resolve the situation. This has left me without a car and paying out of pocket to get to and from work. My family chose to pay more for Geico because we thought that they were a reputable company that we could count on. Despite having only had to use them once in the last 5 years we have been thoroughly proven wrong and disappointed. When my claim (hopefully) is finished soon, we will be looking at other options for insurance.
