Application Process

Assurance is an online-first insurer that leverages technology to match you with a home insurance policy. The company has an in-house AI-powered algorithm that generates quotes based on data. The platform uses basic information about you, such as your age and credit score, as well as publicly available information about your home in order to offer policy options.

All you have to do is answer a few questions online about your address and credit score, and Assurance will generate a quote from that. If you’re happy with the quote, you can complete the process online - unlike other insurance providers, Assurance doesn’t force you to talk with an insurance agent. 

That said, if you do want help determining what policy you need, Assurance offers it. You can call anytime to request a one-on-one consultation with an insurance agent and get advice about your home insurance quotes. 

Once you’ve submitted the questionnaire, Assurance will display quotes for your policy options instantly. In many states, you can purchase online without having to talk to an agent. You can also call to find out more about your different quote options from an insurance consultant.

One thing to note is that online applications are not yet available in some states. If this is the case in your state, you will have to call an Assurance insurance agent in order to get a quote and purchase home insurance.

Discounts

Assurance offers a discount of up to 20% when you bundle your home insurance policy with an auto insurance policy. The exact discount will vary based on the auto policy you choose.

Assurance has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. In addition, the company is a subsidiary of Prudential, one of the largest asset management firms in the US.

    Assurance keeps calling me over and over and may have sold my information.

    Assurance Insurance has called me over a hundred times in the last month from different numbers each time--I have asked repeatedly for their robot "Alex" to quit calling me, but it keeps on calling sometimes 10 times a day. I feel that they may have sold my name and number to other scammers. I have talked to about 15 agents from Mutual of Omaha and Select Quote who are referred by the robot, and they are nice and have tried to get my name off the calling list. I work nights and haven't had much sleep in a month because they call so much. Please do not use Assurance because they are abusive and will call over and over and over even though you have asked them to stop multiple times. I would never ever use Mutual of Omaha or Select Quote because they use the Assurance robot. Please beware of giving Assurance your name and number.

    This company would not stop harassing me even after I called them back and spoke to operators telling them to leave me alone. They filled up my voicemail box more than once, and called me over 30 times, at least once a day for weeks. When I expressed that their company had been harassing me, the operator was not sympathetic and said that I should have told them sooner. I did, and they didn't listen.     I got a letter

    I got a letter, really it was an advertisement stating "New Changes to Medicare May Impact Coverage and Cost to Beneficiaries" So I called to ask what Changes are being made to Medicare in January that I should be concerned about. I already have coverage with another Health Insurance Company but thought I better find out. So I called Assurance and all the big NEW Change was that prices were going up and they could give me a better discount. So of course it was an advertising gimmick, silly me. I said can you do better than $0 a month? Haha, yeah I will not refer anyone to Assurance. If they were transparent about the fact of just saying that Medicare costs are rising.. well of course they are. Yeah the ad goes on to say that the changes may impact your premiums, coverage and healthcare access. I can see rising costs to impact premium and coverage but healthcare access. No Assurance, you need to rewrite your Ad and have more honest tactics.

    I got this because I couldn’t get insurance through my husband’s work. It seemed like a good idea, but it was a huge mistake. They wouldn’t send me a card. You wait and wait and get transfered to 50 different departments and still get no where.     Assurance for Agents is absolutely… awful

    Assurance for Agents is absolutely terrible. Not responsive, poor communication times, poor agent onboarding structure. I started onboarding to work with Assurance. They are not captive, and there are no renewals, so long term income is out of the question. The money goes to Assurance, not the agent. During onboarding I was not given any point of contacts that were actual people who responded. It was only when I submitted my termination notice that an Assurance manager team reached out to me, saying "reconsider!" I transitioned to another company, and I am still struggling to move appointments to the new, better company.

    In all honesty, the first time Ive ever shopped for health insurance outside of an employer was a few weeks ago and unfortunately, due to the lack of knowledge I possessed at the time, I didn’t ask the right questions and ended up with a policy that didn’t meet all of my requirements. On the contrary to my first experience though, Melissa was thankfully, the exact opposite. She was extremely helpful, in addition to being patient while I attempted to express my concerns, understanding over my current situation, but most importantly, she was kind enough to put forth the time and effort into finding the perfect coverage for me.

    They are brokers and not an insurance Company so beware. The last agent Mike did a great job but the previous agent Daphne didn't follow up with me resulting in a premium increase for the same policy and at the same time had difficulty communicating with her.
