Application Process

The application process is simple, smooth and accessible. You can apply online, on a desktop, tablet or mobile device, by filling out a short form and providing some basic information. In order to pre-qualify and see the rates you qualify for, it will not require your social security number, and it will not affect your credit score.

After receiving a response, the information shared is then analyzed and the appropriate lenders for the application are sorted. The representatives at Tresl do the rest of the work of matching, preparing the application and transferring the money between the banks. To make an application the minimum credit score required is 500 and your monthly income should be at least $1,500. An application will only be sent to a lender if a customer pre-qualifies, in which case a credit pull could affect your credit score. 

Loan Types and Terms

Loans are mid-term to long-term, from 36 months to 84 months. However, it is advised not to extend the loan duration for more than 60 months. The requirements and restrictions to get a loan from the lenders associated with Tresl are:

  • A minimum credit score of 500. The interest rates and savings you will be making depend considerably on your credit score.
  • A minimum monthly income of $1,500 or above
  • Vehicle must be less than 10 years old and under 150,000 miles

Repayment Options

There are no benefits and interest rates will not be given in the case of a prepayment. Depending on the individual lender, there may be a late fee applicable for delayed payments.

My experience with Tresl started out…
My experience with Tresl started out perfectly fine. I worked with someone named Scott Rosenberry. He worked with me on getting my auto loan refinanced. I sent off all my title docs and the title back in September of this year. It is now December 6th and my title is somewhere in limbo. My new financing company is saying I am defaulting on my contract. I have been told different things from different people on where my title is. I have tried reaching Scott 4-5 times now via phone and email and have not heard back. I will never use a 3rd party loan company again, especially this one.

Rude agent
The agent called and when I answered there was silence on the line. After saying hello several times with no response, I hung up. He then texted me "Very rude to hang up, I will close your file." Rather than say, I called but it appears the call was disconnected, he accused me of being rude. I would have responded that I couldnt hear him and to try again, but he lost my business.

Our agent, Kristal, is a rockstar!
We had a wonderful experience working with Kristal Knight at Tresl. We knew that finding an affordable rate for the buyout of our leased vehicle was going to be difficult given the current market and our less-than-ideal credit. We went to Lendingtree.com to see what our options were and our top recommendation was Tresl. From there, I was contacted by Kristal and she was in communication with us throughout the entire process. She was even able to lock in our rate on a Saturday, and gave us a call with the good news. Hard pull without permission
Very misleading. You apply to a "lender", in this case a company called "Tresl" who is actually an agent for a third party who claims to be looking for a refinance loan on your behalf. I have equity in my car and wanted to reduce the number of total payments with a lower interest rate. Credit Karma claimed "outstanding" approval odds to reduce my APR by about 7%. Instead I'm told my interest rate would actually go UP. I did not approve a hard credit inquiry. The Credit Karma site says that the application process will provide preliminary offers from lenders subject to final approval which would require a hard check. I was never given any offers from Tresl, Autopay or any other shill companies they own. I have ordered this company to do one of two options: find an offer similar to what they advertised, or notify the credit bureaus that pulling my credit report was done in error. I guess they didn't learn their lesson the last time they were caught doing this with credit cards. The court meant ALL of this chicanery was to stop. Update: A representative did call me to follow up with my concerns about their "loan officer", but to argue that they're not a finance company even though it says so from their own description on Credit Karma. She refused to inform the credit bureaus that my credit report was pulled in error. I only gave permission for a soft pull. Tresl had sent me a form to complete if I wanted to go through with a finance contract. I never completed the form and I never received any quotes. It may take a little effort but an inquiry can be removed by a direct request from the organization that made the inquiry. If I have to start with the process myself there will be legal ramifications.

This process was not effective, very time consuming and you have had my money for over a week now. I got another email stated it will be up to 10 more days before you send me the temporary title. This is very poor customer service as I could have purchased another vichicle with my cash a month ago when this process began. I am very seriously considering you to return my money.

Dont believe what they say
Needed a loan to purchase the lease on my Truck. I was contacted by Tresl and the lady on the end of the line Deb was very nice and supportive. The process of getting the loan to the paperwork signing was way too long and there is no explanation for it. But when the paperwork did come through there was an error on it for how much tax was to be charged. A $800.00 mistake. When I explained the situation to the representatives and notary guy, I was told that if there was a difference in the tax that I would get reimbursed, and that the money would go to my loan. (I have all the e-mails). So, I proceeded with the signing. They sent all the money to the state of Michigan and they were happy to get more than what was required. Now because of Tresl's mistake I get to deal with the Michigan dept of treasury to get reimbursed. I would rather have teeth being pulled then working with the greedy government. Short story: Do not sign anything unless it is correct and verified, and do not believe a word that comes from their mouths. You can't trust anyone anymore.

This was the absolute worst car buying…
This was the absolute worst car buying experience I have ever had!!! First it took well over a month to execute the whole process. 2nd I had to pay for the vehicle to be smogged when it is the sellers responsibility! Last I have still not received my California Registration!!!!! What the Hell were you guys paid to do!!!!!

I would give this company minus five…
I would give this company minus five stars, but lowest I can go is one. My journey started in march. Seven months latter I still don’t have my plates or my title. First go around they mess up my paperwork , title part, tried to fix it by pulling my credit again with the same bank and premising they will take care of it. Well many months latter and many mangers I talked to I still don’t have anything taken care of!!! WAKE UP!!!! I don’t even know what else to do at this point of time. Maybe this time head manager can see this and maybe help me? DO NOT DO ANY BUISSNIES WITH THEM!!!

Lack of effort and communication.
The Loan got done fairly easily and I'd give Tresl a 4/5 on that one. After that they did nothing for over a month and I had to reach out to them over and over again until they finally did anything to get things going. They didn't send the Title work over to the DMV for a month and a half and I wasn't getting any information from Tresl during this time even though I called at least weekly regarding. They never gave me an answer into why they didn't send it earlier. From the time I started my conversations with Tresl till the everything was completed it took 3 months. This should never have taken this long.

This was our company's first time performing a transaction like this and it was a horrible experience and if I can do anything about it we will never do it again. This company must be very incompetent they told me they rejected my application which I did not complete but claimed my credit score was 884 which of course is impossible and that I had too many accounts with balances lol I only have one account with a balance everything else gets paid in full every month so goodness knows who these people are but they are truly incompetent. Find your loan elsewhere!

Holding Title
The financing process went smoothly and there are no complaints on that end. The problem I had with this process was obtaining the title for the vehicle I purchased so that I could register my vehicle in my state. Tresl held onto the title for what is now three days prior to sending it to my agent to allow me to register the vehicle. Once the financing was complete, the service team had no information to help me complete the transaction, particularly with the title. I am now accruing finance charges on a vehicle that I cannot drive, because the title is being held by Tresl. this post financing process has been extremely frustrating and to date has not been resolved.

My temp tag has expired
My temp tag has expired on 10/31/23, and I haven't received documents for registration and titling. This company gives a tag good for only 60 days. If they can't provide paperwork on time, they need to extend it to 90 days like any other dealers do. It's frustrating because the process from start to finish takes too long. Not a good experience.

Lack of urgency and poor communication
We were shopping around for car loans, and we put our application in with this company. We are extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and the lack of timeliness. Getting a car loan is some thing that needs to be able to happen quickly, not days on end. We have excellent credit, no bankruptcy, debt, etc. It should’ve been very easy for them to work with us, instead it was headache after headache for us. I do not recommend this company for car loans to anyone.

Be wary.
Refinanced my car through them. After weeks of back and forth, I was assured multiple times by the financial advisor that I would not pay anything upfront, or other than my monthly payments, only to be told that there would be a $300 fee to add someone to the title months after the fact. There’s also a serious lack of communication. Was told a supervisor would reach out to me and I never heard from anyone. Called the rep back every other day for three weeks, leaving a message each time, and never got a response.

I would not trust Tresl
I went on my credit report after getting countless emails about refinancing my car. I picked Tresl to refinance with. I talked with a man called Nathan, he said after looking at my information its looks good, he just needed all my information, my ID, pay stubs, registration etc. Then I did not hear from him for 2 days. He then text me saying am I available to finish this up, I had been texting him for the 2 days more less trying to push to get it done. Then today I got a text I would need to put over $4000 dollars down before refinancing with them. This was a terrible experience and not professional. If you get a hold of Tresl ask questions before just trusting before giving all the information you have.

This company is trash
This company is trash. No problem getting the loan processed but it’s been a nightmare getting my tags. Gave me a temporary tag good until September 25th and it’s September 23rd and I still have no permanent tags. Nobody will return my phone calls or emails. So now I am left with a car I won’t be able to drive in 2 days. Completely unacceptable. "Update" I was left without a car with plates for a week as the temporary tags issued expired. When you call all you are told is "we can submit an email to the titling department". Most of the time nobody ever responds. This company is a mess. There are plenty of other loan companies. Beware of these people. I will never do business with them again.

I wish there is also an option for a 0. We purchased a $40,000 truck in April. Our temp. tags expired in July. We didn't get our title and registration. We finally demanded some paperwork to go to our own local DMV. We were able to get it registered in only a few minutes. We requested a refund of money that we paid and did not get service for, plus registration fees that we paid for also at our local dmv. It is September 2023 and this all started in April 2023.

More information. Such as when you meet with the notary she doesn't accept the payment or also when you go to make the payment to chase it does not allow you to enter the information (although there is an icon to select for chase), the above examples then require you to call or text your advisor wasting both time and money. Also an update stating you have recd the payment and what happens next. So in.other words more information to be relayed to the buyer.

There should be an option for 0 star! Customer service is non-existent. It has been 2 months and I still don't know what the status of the title transfer of lease buyout.

Horrible customer service
Bought out lease in December and still do not have title and cannot register car. We have called and emailed almost every day with no response from Kizzy. This has been the worst experience. We finally decided we will have to get a lawyer to help. We paid for a title and are paying for a car we can't use.
