I had to take my mom to her sister's funeral out of state. So I had to finally buy a new car because mine would never get there. I got approved online with Drivetime, $399 down payment $489 I might be off 10 or 15 bucks. I called them 3 times asking if it really was the down payment and monthly payment, because I didn't have anymore than that to bring in. I told her my husband just passed away, my car had no ac and it was in the 90s then, it's breaks was just about completely gone, I needed to buy the vehicle that day. She reassured me each time it was all true and I also had a promotional credit for 1200 so I wouldn't even have to pay my 1st payment. When I got there I had to ask for help because everyone ignored the fact I was standing there. I give the salesman all my info.It was taking a long time. I asked if everything was OK. He said absolutely he was just putting everything in the computer. After over a hour he said I'm sorry mary,but the down payment is gonna be a little higher. Now it's 699.00. I asked why and he could never explain. He went to ask a woman if there was anyway they could get it lower but came back and said it was 799 now! I wasn't to cry and scream! He said let me get the keys, I said I don't want to drive it if I can't buy it. He said he would work on getting it down while I was test driving it. When I got back as soon as I stepped out of the suv he said I've got bad news. I said how much now and he said $1800! So I said we'll I guess everything yall said was nothing but lies to get me in here? I told him I called 3 times and asked was the down payment really $399 and was told yes. I was furious! He then said we'll all our suvs have a down payment of $1800 or more! That he could put me in a smaller and cheaper vehicle but my down payment would still be around $1000! This should be against the law! If I could sue them for lieing and waiting 4 hrs of my time I would! Just a few days later I bought a beautiful suv, the same year as theirs. I paid 650 down payment and 425 a month! These people lie to get you in the store and then raise the down payment and monthly payment. Then act like what ever, that that's the way it is pay it or go home! THIS SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW! They have done this to many many customers and they should be made to stop!

Wish I would have read the reviews before going back and forth in 90 degree weather. I am a previous paid off customer never missed a payment even during Covid only to be disregarded when coming to lease a SUV of the same value as the first car I have purchased. Customer Service was fair yet the company clearly engages all customers with bait and misleading advertisement. I inquired about a vehicle that has somehow disappeared from the inventory and can't be accounted for yet reappears under completely different price vin# and info (false advertisement). I made an attempt to purchase another vehicle under the pretense terms of the information provided as requested. I discovered upon test driving that a false description of the vehicle was given on the web site ( False advertisement). The personal terms provided aren't personal at all and can apply to any customer old or new ( false marketing). Under these "personal" terms provided not only is the provided down payment a bait and misleading but I went from paying an estimate 10% of the vehicle value as a new customer on my current vehicle to being offered a down payment option of 25% (4k) as a prior buyer of a vehicle with the same value of the first car I bought with the same credit score as a first time buyer. The whole no credit bad credit is a tactic to reel customers in. Drive time is no different from any other dealership in regards to credit and possibly worse. I am embarrassed to say I actually paid off a car with this company. As a previous customer either go buy a cash value car or look to other dealerships with a more efficient and honest system. Even now after visiting the lot the DT website will no longer provide my personal terms and is now referring me to a number I have already called to provide more info. which they informed me they don't have access to nor can they provide info about my application. The integrity and professionalism of DriveTime has been the most horrible experience I have ever encountered with any business! Breaking the law is an understatement even not to provide me with a reason in regards to my credit check status is surely against the law and this company needs to be audited! I do have pictures of all of the claims in this review. I hope this company improves it's conduct.

Quick and simple transaction
The sales person over the phone was extremely quick to send me the links needed to submit my information and made my visit and arrival much more quicker without having to come up with paperwork and documents that they were able to get for me ahead of time. This gave the customer experience representative, more time to work with us and get our signatures where they were needed and a more quick and efficient process.

Best car buying experience I’ve ever had. This is one of the most TRANSPARENT car sales business ever. From start to finish. The team that assisted me was amazing. Thank you thank you so much Ms. Victoria Rieumont (such honesty and clarity) The efforts an ease went all the way to end. Buyer beware!
I am extremely dissatisfied! I purchased a 2020 Chevy Malibu from the Conway, SC dealership on 04/01/2023. The check engine light started to show on 05/17. At one point the car would not go over 20mph. The car is throwing 20 codes! I do not want to keep the vehicle with electrical and/or transmission issues occurring so soon after purchase. I wanted a reliable vehicle for my son, so I did not have to worry about incidents such as this, who doesn't wish for peace of mind when it comes to the vehicles your children drive? I contacted the dealership and of course, because 30 days have already passed, they will not help in any sort of way, not even take their defective car back and trade it for one without issues. Bridge Crest will not help by tacking the next few payments to the end of the loan because the loan is so new so basically everyone is washing their hands and not helping. I am stuck paying for repairs on a vehicle that in all likelihood will give me issues down the road and stop again, in the middle of the highway nonetheless, with my teenage son driving while attempting to keep payments current at the same time. It is hard for me to believe this dealership did not know that this car was having issues. I have never dealt with any dealership that does not stand by their vehicles like DriveTime apparently does not, not even when I have bought $3,000 cars. Drivetime should be ashamed of themselves for this!

I took my son to into the Jacksonville, FL location to buy his first car. I asked the salesperson to fill the gas tank during this experience and we got nothing but the run around. You're telling me that after spending thousands of dollars we couldn't get them to give us a tank of gas??? I bought a 2017 Lincoln. I noticed a shimmy when I used my brakes and took it to the garage. They told me that the rotors need replaced and that the car has a lane assist issue. We called about the warranty and was told that someone would reach out to us to let us know where we could take it to get repaired. No one called and the 30 days passed. Now there is no power steering and was told the car had been rigged to work for a little while…. Long enough for us to get it home. Now we are stuck with a car that needs major work!!! I would never get anything from them again!!

Bought a car from Drive time Ocala Fl and not having the car for 2 and 1/2 months the motor blow. the warranty they make is get is crap. my car is now sitting at a dealership waiting for me to pay for because they don't want to pay for the lemon they sold me. and will be sitting there another 2 months until i can pay it. along with the high car payment every 2 weeks for a car that the deal ship will have longer than i had it for. Thanks a lot drive time you are out for yourself and ripping people off not your customers. Now i know why you wanted me to get the other car and not that one!!!!! You know the car was messed up.

My lost title
I bought my car about five years ago and I was told that once I complete my payments my title would be mailed out to me. I completed my last payment in February of 2023. I lost my job and had to move to Texas with my son. I gave drive time my new address for my title to be mailed to Texas. I was told that it takes 45 days to arrive to me. I waited that time and so I called to inquire about it. The manager told me it got lost in the mail but yet some how she told me it was mailed to my DMV. So how was it sent to DMV..... if it's lost in the mail....just BS...as of today may 30th 2023. I do not have my title. So why would the DMV have it...I paid for my car, not the DMV...I want my title. Drive Time says they will send me a title release letter. What does that mean.... if I want to sell my car to my neighbor ...I couldn't give that person a release letter. Title needs to be mail to who pays for the car...ME I will not recommend them to a dog.

I went in there prayed up.
When I woke up that morning I knew what I needed and asked God to work it out. I’m not gonna lie but on the way there I was a little nervous because I’m a female and y’all know how they do us women!!! But when I drove up and walked in I was a little nervous still but as I looked around I see one person that had like a glow to him and the man at the counter pointed out to me who was gonna help me for that day I had already known.Instant peace over my spirit!!! A great experience...
The team at Drivetime does a fantastic job! Very nice peowned. Not picked over inventory. Drivetime is not a Dealer that buys accident cars in bulk at an auction to make more money like some others. The cars are above average and a great variety. Professional and efficient. Go there and see the difference for yourself!

Inspection?
The sales woman was wonderful, my issue is with the vehicle. When I test drove the vehicle there was a white mat over the floor. When I got the vehicle home I saw a couple of things that are alarming: One, the vehicle absolutely was in an accident. The hood, fenders, and bumper panel do not align and are actually coming off because they aren't clipped in. Two, the interior carpet is not only ripped on the driver's side, but it's not even staying in place and bunching up between the pedals, making it a hazard to drive.

DO NOT LET THE 5 STAR REVIEWS FOOL YOU. AVOID AT ALL COSTS especially if you are a young adult, working on your credit, etc. Buy a car anywhere but here. I was sold the biggest POS car with nothing but problems. I purchased the car and within 3 months I couldn’t drive it. I can’t even say the amount of money I spent on repairs without feeling nauseas. Within 6 months of purchasing I needed a new catalytic converter, turbo replaced, etc., and an engine rebuild is when I stopped putting money into it. The Chevrolet dealership that worked on it for months told me this car wouldn’t have passed an inspection report. Don’t even try to see the inspection report, you’ll have to get a lawyer to get anywhere with this place. They sell LEMONS & then do absolutely nothing to help you. Emma was nice and said she was just beginning her career at DriveTime, but I am begging you to try and find a better job with genuine people. Trevor and Brian are NO HELP. They are shady and just want to make a quick buck. Trevor and Brian are the worst there, I feel so sorry for all the other customers who are going to go through the same thing I did.

This is a follow up from my previous…
This is a follow up from my previous review. Me and my husband worked with Cody who was a nice guy, sold us a 2016 Impala that appeared to be a solid vehicle. 1 week later we found out the car needed a new transmission which I’m sure they already knew and it made us feel used and cheated. We could have went elsewhere as we had several offers from other credible dealers, but decided on Drive Time as it was in close proximity to our home. We went back to the dealer and informed that “it was not their issue “ and instructed us to reach out to the warranty company. I have now been without my vehicle for 3 day’s waiting for it to get fixed at the shop which has been extremely stressful with trying to get to work. I will definitely not recommend going to Drive Time unless you bring a scanner, lift, and certified mechanic to be able to check it out! Worst car buying experience ever! All they do is respond with the same generic message when you leave a bad review. What? No customer service or satisfaction anymore? Wow! Don’t even waste your time responding to my review unless it’s from an actual person who actually cares about their customers!

I went on the website and was contacted about purchasing a vehicle. Set up the appointment went in and greeted by a delightful and very informative representative by the name of Jordan. Not only was she helpful she was also very patient and pleasant. Overall the whole staff was great. I would recommend anyone to give drive time a chance

Change from 1 star to 4 stars
I recently posted a review and gave 1 star due to the frustration of having my vehicle break down at a gas station after 4 days (Electrical problem). I was upset about the process. I called Drivetime because it was within the 30 days and they they told me to contact Silver Rock and they would handle it. I went to their website and they gave me 5 mechanics in my area. It's a process but I contacted RepairSmith (A mobile mechanic) and they came out tested it, replaced it with a new battery and a new alternator. I changed my rating from 1 to 4 stars. Would of been 5 but I didn't like the way they brushed me off on my initial call to Drivetime. Car's running great!

Stay Away!!!!!!
Absolutely stay away from these people.They are quick to sell you a vehicle, but when assistance is needed they don’t help customer service sucks I literally bought a car and by the next couple days it all went downhill it ended in shop. 3 weeks in mechanic shop and no one seems to give me updates. Stay away from this shady dealership.

Pathetic
When I got to the dealer with my pre-approval and down payment I picked a car. On the way home with that car 2018 ford escape, the check engine light came on. I returned the car the next day, I took delivery of a 2021 Kia forte which looked like it had body work done. I didn’t mind. I paid $250 for a key fob and I went back to the dealer to get it programmed by an independent key maker. I looked under the hood and lo and behold the hood wouldn’t latch. It was 730 at this time. I said I wanted a Kia forte and the guy said you can go to south Houston cause they have one. I told the guy how the hell you want me to get there in time before they close. The guy said well you can get an Uber. I said are you paying for it and he said no! Well then u can pick another car here. I’ve never felt so hopeless in my life. I needed a car and this a hole took every advantage of the situation. I said at least get me a refund on the key that I paid for that I had no use for. He said they will not refund the $250. All it came with was a valet key and not a key fob. Had to take off the small cover over the key thing on the door handle. These thieves kept the car key that I paid for myself. I had to have a car so I settled for a 2021 Jeep renegade. I’m happy with that one but I do not like the way they couldn’t give a damn about my situation.

Purchased a car 4 days ago and it is broke down already (Electrical problem). Paid the extra for Silver Rock which is difficult to set something up. To o many hoops to jump through. I can't even get a person on the phone. We'll see how this goes but so far, so not good.
