Pro: One of the things we like about Verti is all the freebies. Most insurers make you pay for any extras, but Verti throws in a lot of these things at no added cost. For example, all Verti policies include Repair Assist, a free service that brings you a certified mechanic to diagnose any problem with your vehicle and provide a rough estimate of how much it will cost to fix.
Con: The biggest downside here is that Verti only operates in Pennsylvania. Verti is a relatively new service from Spain’s MAPFRE Group and we suspect that it is testing the waters before expanding into other parts of the United States. The fact it is based in Massachusetts, not Pennsylvania, supports this theory. However, we couldn’t find a timeline or anything that would indicate when Verti will roll out its service in other states.
Verti Insurance has coverage to fit Pennsylvania’s state minimum requirements and a whole lot more. Its personal assistants are trained to help you find the best coverage to suit your driving needs.
Bodily Injury Liability. Covers all expenses related to bodily injuries suffered by other drivers when you are at fault. Drivers in Pennsylvania are legally required to have coverage of at least $15,000 limit per person or $30,000 limit per accident.
Property Damage Liability. Covers all expenses related to damage of another person’s property when you are at fault. Drivers in Massachusetts are legally required to have coverage of at least $5,000 limit.
Collision. Covers expenses related to vehicle repair and replacement if your vehicle is damaged in a collision, regardless of who was at fault. This coverage is voluntary.
Comprehensive. Covers repairs and replacement if your vehicle suffers damage in a non-collision incident such as fire, flood, vandalism, theft, or hitting an animal. This coverage is voluntary.
Medical Benefits. Covers medical and rehabilitation expenses, and in some cases lost wages for you and any other passengers, no matter who was at fault. Drivers in Pennsylvania must purchase medical benefits coverage with at least a $5,000 limit.
Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist. Covers the other driver’s liabilities if they are uninsured or underinsured. This type of coverage is voluntary. This type of coverage is voluntary in Pennsylvania.
One of the great things about Verti is that it offers a wide selection of additional features, from paid add-ons to complimentary features that are built into your policy.
Rideshare coverage. When you’re on the clock for Uber or Lyft, this paid-on ensures you are covered. All you have to do is switch on your rideshare app, accept a trip, and Verti will cover you.
Personal advisors. At Verti, each new customer gets matched with their own dedicated personal advisor. Your advisor is someone who gets to know you so they can find the best policy for your needs.
Refer-a-friend bonus. Each time you refer a friend to Verti, you earn $25 off your policy and $25 for your friend too.
FreePass accident forgiveness. With this paid feature, you avoid a rate increase if you had an at-fault accident with your previous insurer. If you’ve never had an at-fault accident, Verti will throw in accident forgiveness for free.
Mobile app. The Verti mobile app lets you file claims, make payments, and access all your auto insurance documents.
Discounts and rewards. Verti offers a range of discounts and rewards, including: loyal customer discount, good payer discount, clean driving history, online purchase discount, homeownership, multi vehicles, advanced shopping, good student, up-front payment, and hybrid & electric vehicle ownership discount.
Repair Assist. As discussed under ‘Pros and Cons’, this is a free service that brings you a certified mechanic to diagnose any problem with your vehicle and provide a rough estimate of how much it will cost to fix.
New car replacement. This complimentary service ensures you get a replacement vehicle that actually has a new car smell, and not a ‘new vehicle’ that already has lots of mileage.
New customers may apply online or over the phone (although it looks like online is the better option). The application process is really simple. Just go to the Verti website and enter your zip code to start your quote. Then fill in information about you, any other drivers on your policy, and your vehicle. You may pause and resume your application at any time.
As a Verti customer, you can quickly and easily file a claim on the internet. Simply log into your Verti account to begin a claim. The info on your vehicle will already be available, so all you need to do is enter information for other people involved in the incident, including names, addresses, and phone numbers for vehicle owners, drivers, passengers, and witnesses.
Overall, Verti Insurance has a very good customer service rating, with 81% of Trustpilot reviewers labelling it great or excellent. As mentioned, every new customer is assigned their own 1-on-1 personal advisor. To get in touch with Verti, simply request a quote via the website or call 844-448-3784 during business hours (8:00am – 4:30pm) to speak to someone directly.
Verti’s insurance model is popular in Europe, and now it is importing its model to the United States with a first-up trial in Pennsylvania. Unlike other insurance providers, Verti throws in a lot of complimentary features that get built into your policy. If you live in Pennsylvania and own a car, the complimentary coverage alone makes Verti worth considering.
