Types of Auto Insurance You Can Get with Jerry

The companies that Jerry works with offer the following policies.

Bodily injury liability

Uninsured and underinsured motorist

Additional Features

Some of the car insurance companies that Jerry works with offer additional features such as roadside assistance. However, there is no way to search for these additional features when comparing policies in the Jerry app.

Jerry does enable you to bundle auto and home insurance or auto and renters insurance. You can view standalone auto insurance quotes or bundled quotes in the app. There are limited options to customize home or renters insurance policies within the Jerry app.

How to Apply

You can sign up for Jerry online or through its mobile app. You’ll begin by answering a few questions about how long you’ve had your current insurance policy and whether you want to bundle auto and home insurance. You then need to provide your name and phone number to create an account.

Jerry will collect information about your current policy from your insurer. You will need to confirm some of the details, including your current address, vehicle information, and daily mileage. You’ll also need to answer questions about your driving history, education, and credit. Jerry does not conduct a credit check at this stage, but some insurers may run a soft credit check when you apply for coverage.

At the end of this process, Jerry will collect quotes for policies that offer similar coverage to your current policy. You must use the mobile app (iOS and Android) to view quotes. If you signed up online, Jerry will text you a link to download the app.

Jerry organizes quotes based on how much cheaper they are than your current policy. You can view quotes for auto insurance only or for bundles with home or renters insurance. Each company that Jerry works with is rated to give you an idea of whether they are trustworthy and provide a good customer experience.

If you find a quote that you like, you can edit the coverage amount and deductible for each type of coverage. Jerry will update your quote and show you how it compares to your current policy premium.

You can apply and pay for a new policy directly through the Jerry app. Coverage will take effect immediately for most insurance policies. Jerry will also contact your old insurance company to cancel your old policy and help you get a prorated refund.

Jerry will automatically check for quotes every six months when your policy is up for renewal. If there are policies that are cheaper than your current policy, Jerry will send you a notification with the top three quotes to review.

Jerry is completely free to use and there’s no service charge if you sign up for a policy using the app. The company also doesn’t sell users’ personal information, and you’ll never receive unwanted calls from insurance companies. Jerry makes money by collecting a commission from insurers on each policy purchased through the app.
