I cannot express how inept this company…
I cannot express how inept this company is, but I'll try. They are not just incompetent but appear to be totally useless and incapable of resolving the inherent issues they obviously have.
I have had an ongoing issue with them for 3 months, I have been misinformed, misled and possibly lied to.
In trying to resolve the issues I have had to make all the effort, all the phone calls, all the hours on hold, Capital one did not seem remotely interested in keeping their promises of getting back to me, of sorting the issues, of treating me as a valued customer who has always settled my balance in full every month, I have never incurred any debt or charges with them. They, frankly, treated me like something on the bottom of their shoe, giving me wrong information constantly, taking funds from me after repeated assurances that they wouldn't, instantly added charges to my account and then profuse apologies when I pointed these errors out to them, but still nothing was fixed.
Eventually, and I mean after months and after I made 3 official complaints which were upheld things were fixed, or so I thought.
On the 4/7/23 I received a phone text stating that I owed them. in excess of £3000, I don't, I cleared the account in May and have NEVER used my card again, in fact I cut it up, I contacted the complaints dept, again, to be reassurred again that the text was wrong and sent in error, they had no idea who sent it or why it was sent but not to worry as no attempt would be made to take any funds from my bank account. Needless to say I did not believe them and said as much. I stated that I was going to cancel the direct debit with my bank as I did believe what I was being told. The complaints dept told me over the phone on 4/7/23 that I would be contacted in 3 days with a response after they had investigated and that, again, they were very sorry this was happening, again. I also did not believe this as I had been fobbed off with this exact same excuse a number of times. Needless to say 11 days later and no contact, nothing, again.
I contacted them by phone today and after another indeterminable period on hold was spoken to by someone who couldn't help me or explain why this was happening and unfortunately there was no one available at the complaints dept, again, and that I would be contacted on Monday. Of course I don't believe them.
Capital One are not fit for purpose, anyone thinking of having dealings with them should think long and hard about it, their customer service is terrible, their systems are broken and they don't really don't appear to give a damn about their customers.
