Pros and Cons

Pro: Provide Insurance works only with the big insurance carriers. When you use Provide’s platform to search for car insurance, what you get is the most relevant deals from eight of the largest insurance providers in the United States. This makes your search simpler, because you know that all the insurance companies offered to you are similar in terms of financial strength, reputation, and experience.

Con: The top pro could also be considered a top con. While working with large insurance providers has its benefits, the fact Provide doesn’t work with any smaller insurance carriers means there is something missing here. When you search for insurance with Provide Insurance, you don’t get to compare the options to small, local, or niche insurance carriers.

Types of Auto Insurance

Provide Insurance’s partners provide all sorts of policies – from basic minimum coverage in your state to specially tailored coverage to suit all your special needs and requests. At a minimum, each of Provide Insurance’s partnering carriers is equipped to provide you with the following types of auto coverage.

Bodily Injury Liability. Covers all expenses related to bodily injuries suffered by other drivers when you are at fault.

Property Damage Liability. Covers all expenses related to damage of another person’s property when you are at fault.

Collision. Covers expenses related to vehicle repair and replacement if your vehicle is damaged in a collision, regardless of who was at fault.

Comprehensive. Covers repairs and replacement if your vehicle suffers damage in a non-collision incident such as fire, flood, vandalism, theft, or hitting an animal.

Personal Injury Protection. Covers medical and rehabilitation expenses, and in some cases lost wages for you and any other passengers, no matter who was at fault.

Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist. Covers the other driver’s liabilities if they are uninsured or underinsured.

Additional Features

Most of Provide Insurance’s partners offer a range of paid add-ons and features that you can tack on to your policy. The exact add-ons vary, but at a minimum you can expect to find the following.

Gap coverage. If your car suffers a total loss, this covers the gap between the depreciated value and what you still owe.

Rental reimbursement. If your car is in the shop due to a covered accident, this covers the cost of renting a temporary replacement.

Roadside assistance. If you’re stuck out on the interstate or the back roads, this guarantees you quick emergency assistance.

Rideshare coverage. For people who use their vehicle for work with ridesharing platforms like Uber, this provides coverage.

Discounts. The average top insurance carrier offers 8-12 ways of earning a discount, including good driver discount, military service, and bundling with other lines of insurance.

How to Apply

Applying to Provide Insurance is quick, easy… and free. To get started, just head to Provide Insurance’s home page, enter your zip code and the number of vehicles you would like to insure, and press continue. You’ll then be taken to a short online form where you will be asked to fill in details about yourself, your vehicle(s), any other drivers you would like to list on your policy, and details about you and your co-applicants’ driving history.

The application process comprises three steps. First, you build your profile by answering all the questions in the application form. Then, Provide Insurance will present you with the most relevant insurance policies based on your profile. Finally, you can ask to be directed to your preferred insurer or call Provide Insurance over the phone to have a customer service rep assist you with the application process. The whole process is designed to save time and ensure you are offered a level and type of coverage to suit you.

Filing a Claim

Like other insurance marketplaces, Provide Insurance exists solely to match customers with insurance carriers. It doesn’t have anything to do with the claims process. Most of Provide Insurance’s insurance partners offer multiple, convenient ways of filing claims, including: phone, online, and mobile app.

Contact Details

Provide Insurance doesn’t offer any way of contacting it right off the bat. To begin an application, you will have to fill out an application form on the Provide Insurance and make it through to the final screen where your coverage options are displayed. If you make it that far, Provide will offer you the option of completing the process online or speaking to an assigned customer service rep.

Summary

Provide Insurance distinguishes itself from other car insurance marketplaces by working only with large insurance carriers. With Provide, anyone can apply for vehicle coverage and see options from eight large insurance within a couple of minutes. This is more convenient than having to go around to each insurer separately to request a quote.
