TD Bank TD Bank Visit TD

Advantages Over Traditional Banks

TD Bank combines many of the benefits of online banking with the infrastructure of traditional banks. This bank offers a variety of products, including checking and savings accounts, personal loans, mortgages, IRAs, and credit cards, all of which can be managed online or through the TD Bank mobile app.

At the same time, you have the option to visit more than 1,300 physical bank branches, the majority of which are open 7 days a week. TD Bank also offers 24/7 customer support, so you can get help with your account whenever you need it.

Cutting-Edge Banking Services

TD Bank’s mobile app enables you to deposit checks at any time simply by scanning them with your phone. You can also use the free mobile bill pay center to pay all of your bills online, including the ones that require TD Bank to mail a paper check on your behalf. Of course, the app also makes it simple to transfer money between your checking and savings accounts at TD or to any other TD Bank accounts.

 Traditional Banking Services

TD Bank was a traditional bank before it moved into online banking. This bank has over 1,300 physical branches, although most of them are on the East Coast. The majority of branches are open 7 days a week and for extended hours, making it easier to visit if you work during typical banking hours.

TD Bank also has nearly 2,000 ATMs on the East Coast. Depending on your account type and current balance, the bank will even reimburse you if you use a competitor’s ATM.

You can use TD Bank for more than just checking and savings, too. The bank supports personal loans and mortgages as well as IRAs. In addition, TD has several reward credit card options.

 Interest Rates and Fees

TD Bank has a variety of different account tiers, which can make it slightly confusing to get started.

For checking, the options are:

  • Simple account: comes with a $5.99 monthly account fee and no balance requirements.
  • Convenience: has a $15 monthly account fee, but it’s waived if you keep a balance of $100.
  • Beyond: also has a $15 monthly account fee, but it can be waived if you have a balance of $2,500 or receive direct deposits totaling at least $5,000 per month.

The advantage of the Beyond account is that you get 2 free overdrafts per year, reimbursed ATM fees, and 0.01% interest.

For Savings, the options are Simple, Beyond, and Growth. All three have a monthly account fee of $15, but it is waived if you link a Beyond checking account. Interest rates start at 0.01% up to $20,000.

Customer Service

TD Bank offers customer service over the phone 24/7. You can also visit a physical branch to get help with your account.

 Phone: 1-888-751-9000

 Mobile Apps

TD Bank’s mobile app is a key part of the online banking experience. It offers instant check deposits, seamless money transfers, and a mobile bill pay center. You can also link your debit or credit cards from TD Bank to manage all of your finances in a single place.

 Security

TD Bank offers two-factor authentication and fingerprint authentication to enable you to securely log into your account. You can also lock and unlock your debit or credit cards in seconds from the mobile app if they’re ever lost or stolen. TD Bank also sends SMS or email alerts whenever there is unusual activity in your account.

 Summary

TD Bank combines the qualities of both physical and online banking. This bank offers a wide variety of services, including checking and savings, loans and mortgages, IRAs, and credit cards. If you live on the East Coast, you can take advantage of TD’s 1,300-plus branches.

TD doesn’t offer the most competitive interest rates if you have a small account balance, but we appreciate that it’s easy to waive your monthly account fee and take control of your finances through the mobile app.

Locked out
I cannot believe how many times for no reason I get locked out. When trying to reset password it wont allow me to do so. When I call bank to reset they claim I did not give my right name. I have to go into a branch and show photo ID in order to reset. I have other accounts with other banks and have no issues. This is very inconvenient to go in to branch everytime they lock me out.

Card Limits Reset Without Our Request
We have several checking and savings accounts. There are TD debit cards attached to the checking accounts. When we opened these accounts we CLEARLY specified daily limits on ALL TRANSACTIONS with these cards as a security measure. Recently I needed to have one of these card’s reissued. I sat down with a banker to set the PIN and MAKE SURE ALL THOSE LIMITS REMAINED. When my wife needed to have her card reissued we discovered that those cards had been RESET to the TD MAXIMUM. We had no communication that was to happen and certainly DID NOT REQUEST IT. That meant we were walking around with cards that had a $5000 Visa purchase limit INSTEAD OF THE $200 LIMIT WE HAD SPECIFIED. NO NOTICE NO COMMUNICATION THAT LIMITS WERE ALTERED. This is a HUGE SECURITY PROBLEM. All someone had to do is access one of those cards and start charging after correctly guessing the 4 NUMBER PIN. Bank branch banker could only guess that the limits HAD BEEN AUTOMATICALLY RESET WHEN THE CARD WAS REISSUED. WHAT????

If I could leave zero stars I would
If I could leave zero stars I would. This place is a rip off. I got a zero interest loan for a bed. One payment was late, ok my fault, I get charged a $29 late fee. I get a letter in the mail that my next payment is late. No just checked my bank and it was not. Call TD bank and now I am getting charged a $40 late fee because the statement are always a month behind and my dec payment is late. but it is 11/29 not even dec yet. Answer this? no answer. bunch of thieves!

TL;DR I'm forced to pay $3500 in…
TL;DR I'm forced to pay $3500 in fraudulent charges It’s sickening that TD Bank has rigid high standards for its cardholders, but will not stand up to extreme credit card fraud. When I opened a credit card in 2023, it was a triumph after initially being rejected in 2018, then spending years building credit. The banker told me to use credit exclusively because it was safer than debit. I have been painfully let down by TD Bank and online banking. To use mobile banking for my credit card, I had to add an authorized user. This is because the app opens with a pop up. I dismissed it many times, but eventually added the requested information, naming myself as the only authorized user. Since I already had a card, I did not expect another one. A second card was mailed to me without my knowledge. It was stolen. By the next month, there were about $3500 in fraudulent charges on my account. I did not see & report those until four months after the last fraudulent charge. Last summer was rough for me. I suffered an injury and had ambulance bills. I spent an enormous amount of money on an important move and was packing up my life. My grandmother was ill. I did not have a debit card, so all of my transactions were on credit. The summer’s pain dragged on into the fall when I realized my account had been defrauded. The first fraudulent charge happened so quickly after the card was mailed (six days) that I now doubt it arrived in my locked mailbox. By following up with merchants, I learned that my card was used with a fake ID to buy a phone & a phone line two weeks after it was mailed. None of the agents I’ve spoken with know for certain how the card was activated, but you told me that it had to have been done online. It’s unlikely that one of my two devices, a phone and a laptop, was used to activate the card. At the time, I lived alone. As a user, I expect online banking to flag suspicious activity or at least to clearly show cards and transactions. TD Bank takes no responsibility for stewarding my account from theft & fraud in that way. I was not notified that my account had a second card added to it, so there was a break in the chain of custody. No one was watching the card activity. In comparison, Discover alerts me to card activity daily so that I can review it. During that difficult summer, I made two mistakes - I interacted with a frequent pop up in my mobile app, and I did not export the PDF statement for June until four months later. The second card is only visible on the PDF export. The pattern of spending on the second card is clearly fraud when I can see it. The amount demanded is about 10% of my net salary, before rent. I feel gutted - I have lost sleep and appetite due to stress. I had started applying to professional development programs, but will now have to postpone my dreams to pay a thief’s debt. TD Bank has continued to charge late fees and interest during the past two months when I have been calling the bank weekly to dispute. To avoid interest, I would need to pay in full with the gift my grandmother left me in her passing. I am crushed. I acknowledge these agents for helping me - the Harvard Square branch opened my account, the Brighton brank aided my filing a claim. There have been five calls from collections. I received help from customer support agents & a manager. Investigations, Credit Card Services and the chairman of the board team spoke to me at length. These friendly representatives professionally enforced an impassive policy that ground me down until I gave in and began to make payments again. Today, TD Bank has managed to squeeze about $4000 in fraudulent charges, interest & fees, but has lost a truly lifetime customer. I learned about bank accounts for the first time while on a Girl Scout field trip to TD Bank. I looked for the big green door handles any time my parents took me to the bank. I trusted TD Bank with my checking and savings, but my money is not safe with you. Your process simply isn’t justified. It certainly doesn’t work for me. My parents are likewise chary about their TD accounts after witnessing the extraordinary way this bank handles fraud. CFPB Complaint # 231108‐12453638

Horrible Bank
TD Bank customer service is extremely unhelpful with any issues that arise with your account. I have a mortgage with TD bank and there are always withdraw issues almost every 3 months despite having an automatic recurring withdrawal setup. They withdraw whenever they feel like it and it's a mess trying to ever ask anyone over the phone for help. I also had surplus money in escrow and for a whole month there was a ton of confusion between the in person branch and mortgage division on the phone regarding with happened with the surplus. Do yourself a favor and choose another bank. Too much unnecessary headache.

Call me crazy
Call me crazy, and a few have, but I cannot find the 'log-out' on the TDcardservices website. And I'm sure I'm not alone. So in it's lack of wisdom, instead of making that function obvious on their site, they came up with a solution, just stay logged on and inactive for 10 minutes and THEY'LL log you off? Sickening!!

SHAME ON TD BANK!!!I purchased two…
SHAME ON TD BANK!!!I purchased two tickets to see the band Mammoth. As soon as I clicked purchase, Ticket Master gave me the Q code to some other band playing at Hollywood Casino on the same night just an hour earlier. I notified TM immediately and offered the $130 purchase just be credited and transferred to the concert I wanted. It didn’t happen. I contacted TD Bank and provided them all the emails, date and time (all within hours of a purchase for a show a month out) TD investigated twice and reversed a provisional credit, siding with TM despite overwhelming evidence. I’ve been with TD 18 years and this is how they treat an honest claim from a loyal customer. I’m switching banks

Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. I had a Samsung Credit Account with TD Bank. The online account access would lock. I tried call customer service and both times was on hold for over 20 minutes. No other way to get a hold of customer service. I just paid the balance online and closed the account. The worse banking experience of my life. Don't do business with them.

"America's Most Convenient Bank," what a joke!
I was a little early for a dental appointment, so I thought I’d go to the nearby TD Bank branch in East Windsor, NJ, to take care of a simple cash deposit. When I went to the ATM machine to complete the transaction, the cash deposit function was disabled. This was the SECOND time in a month that I encountered this inconvenience. Since there were only three people ahead of me in line in the lobby, I decided to fill out a deposit slip and do it that way, even though there was only one teller servicing the lobby. What a terrible decision! It took a completely unreasonable 25 minutes before I could get to the counter. To make matters worse, the SINGLE teller assigned to the lobby was operating on two speeds: “Slow” and “Stop.” During that time, at least six more customers entered the line behind me. No effort was made by any of the other employees in the loan area or the drive-through to alleviate this delay, nor did anyone apologize to those stuck in line or at least express gratitude for our patience. I have been a customer at the bank since the Commerce Bank days, and I must say this level of service and disregard for their customers is completely unacceptable. I have noticed a steady deteriorating customer experience at all of the local branches I frequent (all in New Jersey: Robbinsville, East Windsor and Hamilton). This is the reason I recently advised my daughter to open her first checking account at Wells Fargo, an institution only slightly less incompetent than the current iteration of TD Bank. TD Bank still touts itself as America’s Most Convenient Bank, which is laughable on its face, especially given today’s experience. I hope someone in authority sees this so they can demand that the branch ensure its equipment is operational and reliable, maintain reasonable staffing levels, and demonstrate more courtesy, respect, and empathy to their customers. I don't see any company replies to the other negative reviews on this site, so I don't have high hopes in that regard, unfortunately.

Constant fees on 0% APR consumer card
This is absolutely the WORST financial institution I have ever dealt with. I had a perfect 850 fico score because of my focus on paying everything on time. They didn't impact my score, but did charge me "late fees" for many months where my auto pay showed up a day or two early. One of my electronic payments they "lost." My credit union showed me a confirmation number for the transaction getting to them, but they claimed they never got it. I have submitted complaints with TD and regulatory agencies. TD should be sued out of existence or shut down by the feds.

tried to transfer money. Got blocked. Had to call to identify myself. was told that the finance company that they went through had blocked me. No recourse. No explanantion. No solutions. Just 'get lost' basically. Can't even close the account as there's no obvious alternative to move out the balance. This is more insane than simply, bad.

If you have a mortgage do not change homeowners insurance
I have my mortgage with TD Bank. They had been very good, until we changed homeowners insurance. The switch was to occur on 7/6. The old insurance company sent a cancelation notice that was dated 6/27 but explained that the "Cancel Effective Date: 07/06/2023". On 7/14, we got a letter from TD Bank stating that since my insurance was cancelled they were going to buy their own insurance. I called and spoke with a gentleman that said they have the cancelation date of 6/27 and the new insurance starting on 7/6. I needed to show that the old insurance covered us between 6/27 and 7/6, otherwise they would purchase insurance to cover that time period. Since I did not have the cancelation notice I told him I would get it from my agent. He said to email it to the address on the letter. My agent emailed me the letter that afternoon and I sent it to the address, on 7/14. It is now 8/11 and we got a second and final notice about the insurance. I spoke with a woman about this issue. I told her we sent this on 7/14. She asked about the address. Apparently the address on the letter was not the correct address and went to some back office accounting that did nothing with it. I forwarded it to her and she assured me that she will take care of it. First you should read the mail you get before alarming your customers. Next make sure when you request a response, the email address you give will be looked at and action taken.

Customer Service is NOT helpful. New Account Issue
Opened a new checking account. Employer sent a direct deposit of my paycheck to that account. The following day I found out my account has been locked by the fraud department. They insisted that the only way of unlocking the account is to verify myself in person at a branch. I am nowhere near a TD Bank branch, so I said then please close the account for me. Fraud department closed the account and told me the direct deposit will be sent back to the sender. A few weeks has passed and my employer didn't receive the deposit back. I made several time-consuming calls to explain the situation and problem to customer service. They either told me to wait for the money to process or there was nothing they can do. Basically, since the bank never returned my direct deposit, they swallowed my paycheck illegally. Needless to say, it is very time-consuming every time I had to be on the phone with customer service. In the end, they are choosing to not solve this issue. I lost my entire paycheck, and that is an experience I'll never forget.

Very Unsatisfactory Experience
TD Bank financed my furniture purchase in May. I requested online statements. As of today I have received NO statement. After calling five times today and being cut off four of five times during transfers, I finally reached customer service to make a payment. This is when I found there was an interest charge attached for a bill/statement I never received. Once I expressed my displeasure at the whole process, the interest charge was removed at my insistence. This transaction and interaction entailed more than 1/2 hour of time and frustration. I am so very sorry that my furniture company has chosen TD Bank. I will never deal with the store or TD Bank again.

TD/Visa Scam
Like many banks, TD Bank is partnered with Visa. Using their card can be dangerous. If there's a dispute, Visa will side with the merchant and against the cardholder. In my recent experience, even if the charge is fraudulent, TD will back Visa. Both just want their money. After a LONG back-and-forth with TD/Visa, I lost $400. So, for big ticket purchases, use an AMEX card. They stand behind their members!

Poor Customer Service cost TD Bank $300,000
This bank is pathetic! My fiancée just pulled $300,000 from her accounts and deposited it with another bank due to TD Bank's lack of follow up and response after 3-plus calls and promises they would get back. The other bank got right back to us and even provided a higher interest rate.

Do feel your bank doesn't welcome you
Do feel your bank doesn't welcome you? Do you get the feeling that they don't care to help you? You can't hate a bank because of bad service with one branch. If you want good service and a team that is glad to see you and serves you, then try the little branch at 15th and Alton, in Miami Beach This small branch is well-staffed for all your banking needs, with a welcoming and efficient staff. I especially want to mention Angel Mendez, who graciously helped me and my family with complex matters in a sincere, gracious, and thoughtful manner.

TD Bank = A+++++
I’m not sure if it’s just TD BANK in PA (Philly to be more exact), but I have had an OPPOSITE experience from most of the reviews on here - I Love TDBank! The Customer Service Team couldn’t be nicer or more knowledgeable and helpful! Every time I call, they solve my issues 1st call! At one point I had an issue with some fraudulent charges from Amazon, and Amazon was being very difficult about it - but TD Bank told me not to worry, gave me immediate preliminary credits, and then soundly trounced Amazon & got my money back! All while telling me I didn’t have to do anything - they were there to take care of it all for me! I am only sorry that I have only been banking with them for 3 years - I have had terrible experiences with other Banks !! TD gets an A++++++ in my opinion!

I opened a new account last month. I deposited $6000. I went to do an Interac e-transfer tonight (Thursday may 4, 2023) and was locked out. I call the toll free number and waited, and waited, and waited. After being on hold for so long you do not want to give up. After 3, that is right 3 hours, I said screw this. This "we are experiencing a high call volume" crap started when COVID hit, and it made sense. But, you CANNOT use the same tired excuse for 3 years. consistently defective website
I tried, for three days, to make a simple transfer to an outside account, one that I had made effortlessly in the past many times before. I had to call in three times to get help, where I was made to jump through numerous hoops that led nowhere, over and over again. The bank representatives kept bringing it back to me...something I needed to do or try or redo, when in the end, it was the fault of their website which they were either unable to see themselves or were unwilling to admit. At this point I had, collectively, about 5 hours of my time over three days into this and it was still not going anywhere. I also tried to simply delete a phone number from my profile that was no longer active and that didn't work either. It created yet another jam. On my first attempt to get help, my call was disconnected from their side when a 3rd person joined the call, and on another attempt, one of the bank representatives clearly lost her temper and became unprofessional in her tone and manner with me because I kept reporting failures around everything she was asking me to do. I was openly honest that I was not happy about these numerous failures, either. I warned them that I was pretty much at my wit's end, at this point, and was going to close my account if this wasn't resolved on this, the last call, but I never disrespected the reps or became abusive at any time. In fact, I openly stated that I realized that it was not their fault, personally, but that I was still very stressed and unhappy with my inability to transfer funds that were now late due to how much time this was taking me. When I eventually went back to the site to try to make the transfer on my own again, there were sections of the website that suddenly appeared that hadn't been there for days, finally making the transfer possible. I feel for the people working there, as there isn't much they can do when the technology is failing right underneath them, but they also need better skills in troubleshooting these things, looking for and identifying the problems on the bank's end and, also, in smoother personal communication when the temperature goes up.

I’ve had TD Bank since 1990 and at…
I’ve had TD Bank since 1990 and at first service was fine… However, things changed. Almost a decade later going through drive through I deposited money and signed one check to be cashed but the teller gave me envelope with only the receipt transaction but not the cash from signed check. It was my income tax preparer’s son. I had drove around the drive through again ( my daughter in car seat ) but I let it go (well over a hundred dollars) and that was dumb— single mom raising three kids. Then when my son was teenager and I was in charge of his account— it was nonstop overdrafts for a few* years he had a debit card… Very expensive overdrafts and numerous! I found out later they weren’t permitted to do that — extremely costly! Contacted the comptroller who’s return letter stated to continue sending information bc that bank was in the wrong…As a single mom in a small town (Jersey shore) again I let that go too… I will say that I have found other TDBank employees in NJ very kind and helpful… Some of the TDStaff where I had lived were opposite of helpful (OCNJ) and so I managed online or at other local branches. Now , when you try to contact TDBank main customer service main number the automated system says “twenty minute wait” — Goodluck with that— twenty just triple that ***if you receive an answer at all especially on the weekend! I’m finally closing my account!!! There are other excellent banking systems out there that have professional and courteous customer service… no wait — and you know your money and personal information are safe! I wouldn’t recommend TDBANK to anyone, my opinion… and I should have went forward with comptroller instructions, etc…years ago! TDBANK isn’t looking out for customers!!!

TD Bank Does not care about Fraud
Very disappointed in the way this bank handles Fraud, I have had an account for almost 20 years, 2 years ago I received a call from the CT Branch asking me if I visited their branch today, I live in Long Island NY I advised that I was not there, they said someone was at their branch claiming to be me and had driver's license with my information on it and they just let him go . I closed my account and opened another one, on 2/10/23 I received another call from the same branch asking the same questions and of course I was not at that branch, again they just let him go. At this point I closed the account again and reopened another one. On 2/27/23 I received another call this time from the Orlando Florida Branch asking if I was there today and I advised them that I was in New York, They knew that the person had NY license that was a fake and again they just let him go, they scanned the license and sent me a copy. This time I closed the account for good I took the money out. I went to the FBI and my local police and filed reports mean while because of TD's lack of interest in Fraud this low life is out there with my information. I checked my other banks, and they advised that if this situation occurred at their locations, they would have called the police immediately. Also, the fact that this is only happening with TD Bank leads me to believe that there must have been a security breach with their bank. Not one person from TD Bank wanted to help me I was promised a call back from a Izzy in New York this morning which never happened. You would think that they would have offered me Fraud protection. Instead, here I am writing this complaint, which I am sure will do nothing. Do yourselves a favor and get your money out. I am going through a lot of trouble going to Trans Union, Department of Motor Vehicles, Local Police, Orland Police, FBI when TD Bank could have put a stop to this immediately. The kicker to this is that the teller in Orlando advised me that she knew this was a Fake and she just let him go.

TD Bank hates small business
I was with TD Bank since before they purchased Commerce bank in NJ. during the pandemic, my wife's business was shut down and she had to turn to home schooling our daughter. we also moved and she was not that concerned with her biz account at TD because she had no money in or out. fast forward 2 years, business is back up only to find that TD had siphoned off almost $2000 in "maintenance fees" during the past 2 years. obviously, we were livid. called the 800 number, they tell us to go to a branch. go to the branch, they tell us to call the 800 number. write a letter to the headquarters and are told, that is their policy. so clearly, TD Bank stands for bankrupting women owned businesses during times of crisis in this country. shameful behavior and I will be posting this as a warning to every review site i can find.

During the two weeks period
During the two weeks period, I opened two disputes ticket for the two transfers that I made to USA. First time, they told me that there is a problem with the routin number, and they don't know where is the money. I open a disbute and I have to wait 30 days to get my money back, considering I have to pay all the exchange fees and transfer fees twice. I sent the money for the second times, correcting the routine number (there are two different routin numbers, one for the account and one for wire transfer). After 7 days, recipiant did not receive the money, the same problem TD representative cannot track the money. If TD does not have a control in this service, why they are offering it and luring their customers in this scam, for each transfer I paid nearly $ 70 of fees, TD should be be more accountable. I never would use this stupid service until TD have full authority for this service.

Similar bad experience with td bank
Similar bad experience with td bank I made an online transfer to an outside bank and because a problem at the other bank I got an SS25 error on the outside transfer page which said something about invalid data or identity So after I fixed the problem with the outside bank I called up td bank to fix the error They were not able to do it over the phone and said I have to go to a branch So I go there and show them my checking account and drivers license and after calling someone to figure out what this error is and how to fix it they tell me I "misused the app" which I never used since I am using the PC and now they blocked the entire outside transfer page They already close a branch that was closer so it is getting more and more inconvenient bank Probably better off anyway because I am not limited to $5000 or whatever small transfer amount they have

The new branch in Lady Lake by the Goodwill, holy moly! Never go there. There was 1 person in front of me, waited 1/2 hr. Finally I get up there and the woman at the counter says i can't make a deposit in my business account bc i don't have a personal account. What?? I've been doing for 5 yrs. This branch is closer so i went there. She "let" me deposit this one time, says she's putting a note on my account that i cannot do again. Just don't go there, it was a mess. Noone knew what they were doing. I realize it's new, but geeezzzz get people with some experience.

Don't Waste Your Precious TIME!
Please do not waste your time with their customer service #: 1(888) 751-9000 or 1(800) 937-2000. Called both and waited over 30 minutes, ended the call by hanging up with no person answering! THIS IS HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE! Is this posted on the website? IT SHOULD BE! Let's be transparent as possible!

A customer service representative actually got out of his chair and took a fighting stance with me this morning. If not for the security guard putting his body in front of him and blocking his way, I believe he was going to attack me. This tells you everything you need to know about this branch.

Chose any bank besides TD bank
Signed up from a mailer promising a $200 bonus after requirements met. Communicated multiple times with customer service regarding this bonus, never was told I was not eligible until 180 days pass and I still was not credited. Online form was not responded to so I called only to be told I was suddenly not eligible even though all requirements were met. The “manager” was rigid and unwilling to work with me even though it was 100% their mistake. This was the last straw, they have been a horrible bank from the start. New customer deposits are held for over 2 weeks before clearing. They do not allow you to link an external bank to transfer out of TD account, only transfer into and within their accounts. The list goes on and on. There are so many banking options out there you would be better served by almost any other choice. Recent headline from Miami Herald reported a TD bank manager found guilty of defrauding the government from COVID relief funds, pretty much sums up their ethics.

TD Bank HELOC - Dishonest, Poor Service, Immoral
We have a TD Bank home equity line of credit that we used to put in a new deck. One of our contractors deposited the incorrect amount on a check back in March 2022. 6 months later TD Bank went in and changed the amount and it went over our line of credit limit. First off, TD Bank told us we could never increase our line of credit limit without reapplying for a loan again from the beginning, yet when a contractor check is entered incorrectly, they have no hesitation in going over your line of credit and adding it to your bill. I told them I could pay the overage, but not all at once since it was roughly $2,500 and it was the holidays. The rep on the phone put me on hold for about 5 minutes to see if they could do a payment plan and she came back and said "No." So I told her I could pay this off in amounts of $400-500 each month. She said they would note the account and to pay off what I could. Well, they barely gave me anytime. Instead, they called multiple times a day, every day at work, right at 8:00 am! Even on Christmas Eve they called asking to pay the full amount. Without any message or notice they reported my payment as late. Which ended up dropping my credit score from a 720 to 630! Terrible customer service. They don't care about their customers. They didn't even give me a chance to pay off the amount. The rep I talked to said one thing and their action was another.

MIsleading information and unresponsive customer service
I was short of funds after divorce and my mom loaned me $1000 to deposit into a joint account I have with her, by check. I deposited the check remotely and on the screen it said that funds would usually be available in one business day. But this was ten days ago, and after one business day, the bank put a hold on the deposit and mailed me a PHYSICAL LETTER telling me they were holding the funds because their fraud department suspected my mom's bank from which she wrote the check would not pay it. However, I did not even RECEIVE this letter until AFTER my mom's bank had paid the funds to TD and I had called TD to ask why, since the funds were released to them, they could not be made available. TD kept transferring me to other departments to apply for them to release a hold on funds they had received days before. Ultimately, they never gave me the courtesy of a response much less an explanation why the funds were not released to me even after they received them. And today, the seventh business day after they told me there was a six business day hold -- and the day they told me the funds WOULD be released to me -- they are still on hold and I called again. Now I am told it will be tomorrow. A full week or more after the funds were released to them, and longer than I was promised. This is so unprofessional and disruptive, and wasted so much of my time. I will be going to a different bank.

levied my account without a court order
i checked my account on friday december 9 and it was my black friday, without notice , my bank went from thousands to minus. The bank levied my 2 accounts. They said I should call the lawyer who did it. I called the lawyer and he told me to call his client. The client lent me money. Due to a default, they used prejudgment from connecticut and hijacked my account without even a court order. I am now in federal court trying to get justice. There is no such thing as due process. One day you are rich, next day you are poor. This is TD bank.

I've gotten gift cards at TD Bank every…
I've gotten gift cards at TD Bank every holiday season for 12 years. I went into my usual branch to again purchase gift cards only to be informed that they were discontinued in October without notice or explanation. It seems that this is just another customer convenience that TD is eliminating. When they originally purchased this banking system from Commerce, they seemed to have tipped the scales in their favor with the coin counting machines that were available at each branch. They've since discontinued them at all branches after having to pay thousands of customers an amount determined to have been cheated from each. Now this. For a bank who claims to be "Americas Most Convenient Bank", they are becoming more and more Americas least.

Too Easy For Criminals To Get A TD Bank Credit Card
I never heard of TD Bank and their branded Samsung credit card until spotting a new account on my credit report. A thief used my name and good credit to buy $3868 of stuff from Samsung. I get that lenders walk a fine line between making their applications too onerous and making it too easy to open a fraudulent account. However, you would think they could have verified that the address, phone number, and/or email on the application were known. Any one of these things would have been an improvement. I'm still cleaning up the mess made when a criminal stole my identity and TD Bank allowed it to happen with their toothless identity verification. So it's safe to say I'm not a TD Bank fan.

Incompetent Banking Operations
Imagine you are reviewing your account online and see a large transaction debited to your account that you are not aware of. You contact the bank and it takes about 2 hours for the bank to find out the reason for the debit. Then the td bank representative tells you that td bank failed to collect the money from the other bank when you deposited a check about 6 months ago. So, now the td bank is debiting your account and asking you to go back to your client and collect the money. You ask the bank why you did not inform me 6 months ago when the TD bank did not collect the money and waited 6 months. The bank representative replies, I do not know. This is what happened to me today. Imagine you go back to your client after 6 months and let the client know that TD bank did not collect the money and the client should give you the money now. What if you cannot find the client or client refuses to give you the money now. On top of that you deal with a rude and unprofessional representative at the branch. In the end you are on your own for their mistake. It's amazing that they can take money out of your account without even letting you know. This could damage your payment relationship with your creditors, when you are keeping enough in your balance to pay your bills and suddenly the bank decides to withdraw money from your account without informing you. This is a disaster. Please , please avoid working with TD bank.

The lesser of the evils
I haven’t had any exceptionally good or bad experiences with TD Bank. They are one of three banks I utilize. The positives: extended hours, convenient locations, international banking, easy use of online portal, variety of accounts available and ways to avoid monthly costs, free notary services for account holders. The negatives: it seems all staff are either new, unknowledgeable, or unwilling to help.

I have been banking with TD for close…17 YEARS
TD BANK Location: 3785 N Federal Hwy Oakland Park, FL 33308 I have been banking with TD for close to 2 decades and I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable. I needed a few checks as I am purchasing a gift for my wife and before I can get the words out the answer was NO. Then when I finally said please confirm the reasoning provided after much push back from the teller and manager Hayley, they still denied me the temporary checks I needed. It's not the process or the rule which is NEW because I have many times received temporary checks from this branch as I respect that. It is the condescending tone and apparent glee for them to tell me no checks will be provided. I then opted to get a cashier's check and literally was interrogated about my accounts and a transfer I did this morning after I already confirmed my identity at the start via DL as well as debit card which worked against me as I had to explain where and when my accounts where opened and ironically that is why they could not provide temp checks. The manager Hayley needs to know better and try to be nice to every person that comes in there even those like myself that are on the tan side. I will never go back to that branch and have it in my mind to move all of my 6 accounts to another bank that will value my 20 years of patronage. Treating customers with contempt in any capacity especially masked as customer service with a fake smile is still contempt. I will not be banking at this location again.

Horrible.

We have a Restaurant as a Client - and they basically have NO INSURANCE from this mess... dang, TD and AUTOBOOKS - and yep - still on hold right now... 15mins for Our Call at 2pm.

This is a very bad bank
This is a very bad bank. The lines in the branches are long. They never have sufficient currency to exchange, so this takes weeks for simple USD and Euro to get. Their Visa cards servise I am now on hold for 45 min on their 18008938472 phones ( August 17, 22 9.35 am) with silly music and no movement and I have a simple question about my visa card where the payment was declined for my hotel in Europe trip. I have a great credit score and a large credit limit, money on my accounts and I am their customer for 15 years but they simply ignore customers and waste their time. Would they payback for my time per hour? I seriously consider changing the bank in the future. Any suggestions from customers?

Mr Shriram genuine help.
I had a problem with TD Finance about the lien release for my car. After several attempts with their support centre, no one helps me out. I walked into the TD Bank in Van Dorn Alexandria VA and met the assistant Vice President, Store manager. I explained my issue, and despite the TD Finance was not part of their competence, he showed great empathy and a genuine willingness to help me out, and in just three minutes he solved my problem by making them send the letter through its branch fax number. People with the right attitude like him make any business successful. Thank you so much, Mr Shriram. Great job!

America's most convenient bank? So not true!
I opened an account, the bank closed it. I opened another account again closed. Third time I was allowed to open an account. Now can't get into it. Called customer service and they say I need to go to a Canadian TD branch as they can't help me. I do that, again I can't activate my debit card. Call again, again have to go to a Canadian branch, they say all is good. I try activating again and calling again with the answer that again I need to go to a Canadian branch to prove my identity. Today, I will do this a third time. Is this bank really, the most convenient bank? I think not.

I think your gift cards are a racket
I think your gift cards are a racket. I have several gift cards that were unopened. When I did open them to check balance, i was told that there is a $2.50 monthly charge so the cards had zero balance even though they hadn’t expired. So essentially, someone buys a gift card and you take the money back. I will tell people to not buy your cards.

America's most time-sucking bank
I was a customer starting in 2012, and I started to transition away from using my account there because the perks at competitors were much better. I maintained my checking account with TD Bank with a low balance and a few small recurring charges and my TD Bank credit card until earlier this year when someone in Ghana tried to charge multiple purchases to my credit card. TD Bank wanted me to be liable for that. They have a "the customer is guilty until proven innocent" policy with fraud, it appears. I had to complain to the consumer protection bureau to get that series of charges removed. That was the last straw. I closed my bank account and line of credit with them. There are also usually 2-3 hour hold times when calling them. My entire experience with this bank, looking back, was stressful, time-consuming, and the exact opposite of how they advertised themselves.

I applied for a construction loan after having been told that TD would give the best offer. Quite frankly they are too understaffed to provide the service that they should. After months of supplying records that they requested and being transferred from one agent to another I was told that the underwriters would not accept the loan because it was on a farm. The people handling my application should have known this from the beginning. Very dissatisfied. Had to quickly find other source for home construction mortgage.

This is the worst bank to do any kind of business with! Went in to open a business account it was a complete waste of time. I went in 3 times and they kept asking me for different paperwork each time I went in. Finally had enough and went to Chase! What a difference with Chase was in and out in no time at all. Extremely poor customer service
I recently went into the TD Bank on Royal Road in Flemington NJ to cash checks that have been given to me. I do not have a TD account. Twice I went to this branch in the last two weeks and I was not charged a fee to cash either of the checks. Today I went to the same branch with another check and I was told there would be a fee. There was nobody in this bank except for the teller behind the counter and the manager sitting across the room at her desk. The teller said she would talk with the manager and started emailing her. I could see the manager across the room looking at her screen. Of course I don’t know what they were saying to each other… Anyway the manager emailed a response saying to charge the fee. This fee would’ve been $10 which was well above 10% of the total of the actual check. I find it ridiculous that they would need to charge a fee to cash a check for somebody even if they don’t have an account but I also find it incredibly ridiculous that these two were emailing each other when the manager was right across the room. She was not on the phone and as I said there was nobody in the bank. So how busy could she have been if she could immediately read the tellers email and respond to it? This is a manager who could not even be bothered to get up and talk with a customer… This is customer service at its worst! As I said, I do not have a TD account nor will I ever…

Allows Unethical Merchants to Scam You. TD Bank Closes Disputes and Won't Side with Customers!
I don’t recommend this bank at all. After being a customer of 10+ years, 3 accounts and 1 credit card, I decided to close all my accounts with TD Bank. I’ve never experience such horrible service, policies, systems, tech, everything! I’ve had numerous problems with them in the past which I won’t mention just to keep the review shorter but their system is disorganized, tech is outdated and performs poorly, they charged my accounts fees after fees despite saying they were waived for specific conditions, etc. I was like ok, stuff happens, whatever. Some of them were solved, most of them, they won’t admit they’re wrong, and when it came to their TD Bank Visa credit card, don’t expect any sort of support. What drove me nuts last was dealing with their credit card dispute team which are incompetent on all levels of existence and the bank itself instates ridiculous terms that basically lets you get defrauded by unethical merchants. I avoided using my TD Bank CC for years but because the last two transactions I wanted to make had merchants that didn’t accept Discover or AMEX, I used my TD Bank Visa thinking if anything should happen, they would defend me. I was wrong. First time, I was scammed by a con artist or “fake guru” who claimed to be an expert in his field. I paid thousands of dollars for his service and he didn’t deliver what was advertised nor was it delivered at the time they claimed (which was 6 months to 1 year). Then, they didn’t respond when I asked for a refund several times. I tried to dispute the charge with TD Bank but TD told me they can’t help me because it was past 120 days. Then they asked me for documentation which I was fine with but then they asked for the agreement I signed with the merchant, which to me was a clearly a misleading clause. The fake guru was exposed openly as a con artist on the internet so why would the agreement I signed even matter if it was written purposely to defraud me? It was clearly fraud and had 100s-1000s of cases, experiences and evidence of it being so. But TD Bank’s dispute team claimed they wouldn’t win the dispute because of the agreement I signed. So basically, there, I already lost over $5000 for nothing. Second time, I was scammed by a travel agency who refused to refund me for a trip I made where I couldn’t go due to COVID-19 restrictions. I again, filed a dispute with TD Bank after failing to communicate with the merchant for 3-4 months prior. TD Bank’s dispute team first closed the case, lying about me not submitting documentations when they never asked for them, then I had to call them reopen. Wasted hours and hours trying to speak to customer service online and also at the branch. They told me I’d have to wait for a possibility of the case being reopened (as if it was my fault it closed?) When that happened, they suggested I FAX evidence/documents to them which was beyond ridiculous since they don’t have an email for this either??Ok so I did that. Then, they again closed my case, this time claiming there was no “billing issue” which was far from what the dispute was even about. So I complained on social media and BBB. My case was escalated on both those venues of complaints but I was told the same thing. “Work it out with your merchant” and that they can’t do anything about it. That dragged for around 3 additional months. Other people I know who had the same situation, called their banks or CC company and got their money back within days regardless of what lame excuse their travel/booking merchant made. After all this stress in addition to losing over $6000 because TD Bank wouldn’t defend me, I would never bank with them again. Keep in mind, both of these transactions occurred only a year apart and it seems unethical merchants would do anything to take advantage of innocent customers while COVID is actively an issue. This should’ve been obvious to TD Bank with everything going on but apparently not. I’ve already told all my family and friends to cancel their service with this bank, so far, two people did it and I hope this helps others make a judgment.

After several requests, they advised that my case was reopened and required me to fax the claim info. This fax cost me $45! Then they said the case was never reopened. The mgr said she will listen to the phone recording, and discipline those who were negligent….but would not reimburse me for the fax or open the dispute. I will cancel the card.

Had a credit card
Had a credit card , which I wanted to close. so I called them and said so , they said they will 'lock' it for now. I assumed that mean no one can charge it now, so I discarded the card and thought to myself won't ever need the card and login again. 6 months later , I get a mail saying I am due 100 dollars on the card. Apparently I had a recurring transaction on it . So I called them again, this time they explained a locked card still incurs recurring payments. Mad, I paid off the balance but they where kind enough to void the late payments(atleast thats what they said) Three months forward , I got another mail saying I am due 100 something dollars. This time when I called them they said it was carry forward balance and missed payment on it(not sure how I had any balance left, but apparently I did and they charge late payments on it). I was so mad , didn't even want to argue , I paid the balance. I am apprehensive they will send me and late payment thing again, so trying to log in to my account but I can't since the forgot username needs full account number which I don't have since I tossed the CC. Don't really want to call their customer service. Don't ever use this card.

Bad customer support
Bad customer support. Had to call 5 times for one minor issue but the issue wasn't resolved. The average call wait time was 20 mins. Once it asked me to leave a voice note for call back but message box was full so call got dropped. The transaction was failing due to an error at the bank's end and they never bothered to investigate. Moving on now to some other bank.

Company is milking their last reamining…
Company is milking their last reamining customers, I left Canada and had my pension paid to TD, now to get it moved to Europe TD suggested I send it in small increments with their crazy high priced "global transfer" or take out my pension with my debit card at an ATM..... Unwilling to help transfer to another canadian account only if I fly their in person...during Covid...Unbelievable

TD Bank Total Disaster
Truly a fee driven bank at fast speed and they really are unscrupulous about how they return checks, totally illegal as far as I’m concerned, not surprised with all the notices , I get from law firms about class action lawsuits against them, as soon as I get a new account I most likely will be gone!Stay away as these are bad Canadians! Go home!

Not sure why they have branches since…
Not sure why they have branches since everything has to go through head office. They lost paperwork for my mortgage renewal causing some last minute issues. After admitting it was their mistake, their concession was to offer me some type of a bonus if I recommended them to a new customer. SMH Best advertisement for any other bank.

Snarky Assistant Vice President In FL TD Bank
I read that TD froze 1.1 million that was to go to the Truckers in Canada. I was furious, with this. I went to my local TD bank to pull out and closed my savings account. It was enough in the account for them to take notice. The Ass. Vice President grilled us, criticised me that I didn't get my facts straight, blah blah. She kept on trying to criticise me about the bank I'm using, "is not in line with my political affiliation either." She suggested a credit union in our area. She kept on trying her little digs. The worst treatment. Good bye TD Bank.

You freeze peoples money
You freeze peoples money. I grew up in a communist country but what I saw is now happening in Canada. This is what dictatorships do and this bank acts in the same way.
