Parfait
Parfait, membre depuis 2022 je recommande vivement cette carte. Le service client est au top, pas d’attente au téléphone quand on essaye de les joindre contrairement à d’autres cartes + ils sont hyper réactifs et professionnels. De nombreux avantages en cumulant des points (bons d’achats…) et des offres à l’année chez des prestigieux partenaires. Une fois testée, on ne peut plus s’en passer. C’est dommage que les clients mettent des avis que lorsqu’ils rencontrent une mauvaise expérience.

Support is giving fake answer. Lying about reasons why out of blue limit has been reduced to 400€ hah I used Paypal to send money to a friend and they don’t like it, but won’t say the truth. Support: “aaahhm yhmmm eeehhhmm you have many rejected transactions” - I KNOW! You lowered the limit so no automatic payment can go through. ABN confirmed in writing AMEX never tried to debit my account. But incompetent support told me: you rejected it! FAKE COMPANY! They will put you in troubles once you must count on them the most! Destroying plans and people, without a notice.

Don't ever buy their gift cards
Don't ever buy their gift cards, they are declined EVERYWHERE, and the out-of-country customer service offers no resolution whatsoever. You'll notice you cannot message them from this page either - because customer care is a joke to them. So now you have $200 on a usable gift card, and the vendors claim the denial comes from the card issuer, which is not 3rd party. Lots of charity money to throw around when you take the money and lie about it being accepted everywhere on their card and the opposite is true.

Another terrible review of Amex...company all of sudden suspended my account, so I was left in the middle of nowhere with no means to pay. They said they have sent me and email but because they have to notify you by law to do this, they will then suspend your account seconds later. It turns out looking at reviews that if you have not been using your card ( read making money for them in merchant fees business have to pay when accepting Amex ), then they will freeze your account... for review! No other company in the world have such terrible policy, no wonder why company is shrinking, and people just don't want to have their cards...certainly in outside US. Going back to my suspended account issue, they have not accepted all the paperwork submitted and all of sudden they closed account without notifying me of this. Direct debit was active, but they have not taken money out of my account but passed it on to collection agency. For everyone benefit balance was merely couple of hundred quid. I queried this with them, on why you didn't take money but passed it on to collection agency who added missed payment mark and they said that's their policy...I will be taking it to court and urge everyone to do whenever you have issues with them if possible. They are running this business in UK with skeleton crew managed by US...whose culture is terrible !

Nicht zu empfehlen !!
Hatte die Firmenkarte nur ca. eine Woche, ein Einkauf, dann ging nichts mehr(Deckung usw. genügend vorhanden), habe noch weitere Firmenkarten erhalten und auch eine private, ich sollte mit der Hotline alles klären, nach ca. 15 Minuten un der Warteschleife, habe ich aufgelegt und habe dann gleich alle gekündigt, war ein kurzer Auftritt für AMEX - kann ich also niemandem empfehlen!! - ein Stern ist noch viel zu viel !!

Report Fraud Charge but did not went through after more then separate calls.
I am a card member since 2017, and I am not happy with American Express today. Had a fraud activity going on with my account, reported it three days ago, they did not take the fraud charge down from my account nor put a sign saying they are working on it on the Recent Transaction showing like what they always did previously. I did not even received any confirmation email regarding the fraud report. Therefore, I called Amex again today. The agent first told me that they need to verify my account, it is going to be 17 questions regarding details about me and all my additional card you users. This is out of no where, especially he had already verify my account and the security code for security reason. I asked what are these additional 17 questions for, he wasn't able to answer. And then finally we get to the question, he did not even let me finish answering the first question! was not on the same page with me after I explained the situation for approximately 15 minutes, for some reason he kept referring to a different account under my name. After another 15 minutes, he told me apparently they did not process that fraud report from my last call, and he cannot do anything about it and have to transfer me to a different department. The next person to talk to me was not knowledgeable enough to explain the situation from the system. At the same time, he keep repeating words that doesn't make sense to my situation with the account. I explained that I would like a confirmation email from him to show the current process of this fraud incident, he told me he was able to provide me that, however the email will be sent to me after 2 to 3 business day. I am very disappointed regarding this. American Express phone agents are able to send email to customer and less than 15 minutes. 2 to 3 business for an email, in my opinion, sounds like a total BS. Anyhow, that's not even the main part I am mad about, I am calling in to AMEX again just now while I am typing. The customer service did not see the fraud charge is being reported! Unbelievable!

Bereavement
Bereavement. Having lost my partner of 34 years I have had to deal with the bereavement teams of four banks, a pension fund entity, multiple service providers and the DVLA, all of whom have been excellent and understanding of how difficult the circumstances are. Amex on contact, were absolutely horrible. I did wonder if there was an element of homophobia on the part of the representative I spoke to as the second question after the name of the deceased was “what was my relationship” to said deceased, civil same sex partner, but after getting off the phone to them, very upset at how my call had been handled with zero empathy, I checked Trustpilot. It seems that my experience with Amex is par for the course as far as customer service goes. All this for a zero balance and for information purposes only and all this from a representative from the bereavement team at Amex. Shocking.

Se méfier d'American Express en toutes circonstances
Nouveau client chez Amex avec une carte Platinum à 60 euros par mois, je devais faire un paiement important aux USA. Je vois qu'il n'y a pas de limite mensuel, que cette limite est adaptative. Aussi, par précaution, je préviens AE le lundi matin que je vais avoir un paiement de XXX$, on me dit au téléphone qu'il ne devrait pas y avoir de problème. Je le dis à mon fournisseur américain. Le lendemain, mon fournisseur me dit qu'il a un problème pour le paiement et que je dois contacter AE en Belgique, ce que je fais et on me répond que le lendemain matin le prélèvement pourra être fait, ce dont j'informe mon correspondant. Le lendemain matin je reçois un mail de AE faisant état d'une fraude présumée et me demandant de les contacter. Ce que je fais, et après avoir décliné pour la enième fois mes coordonnées complètes, on me dit qu'on va me passer le service crédit. Après encore quelques minutes d'attente et après avoir redécliné mon identité, om me dit que pour que l'opération passe je dois provisionner AE de la moitié de la somme soit XXX$. On atteint le sommet de la malhonnêteté et du mensonge: on dit qu'il n'y a pas de plafond, on me dit qu'il n'y aura pas de problème le lundi, on me dit le mardi que le paiement passera le lendemain matin, et le lendemain on me dit que je dois provisionner le compte. Je n'ai rien contre le fait qu'il soit vigilant et qu'ils m'aient demander une provision pour une première dépense importante, mais pas après m'avoir fait lanterner 3 jours et me faire passer pour un guignol vis-à-vis de mon correspondant à New-York. Pour le principe, j'ai immédiatement résilié ma carte et je retourne tranquillement chez Visa et Mastercard. Ceci sans parler des frais que'AE vous porte en compte lors d'achats en devises étrangères: environ 2% de suppléments.

It’s Always a Pleasure Dealing with Amex
I’m writing this after speaking to American Express customer service earlier today. My partner and I have multiple Amex credit cards and we’ve both been card members for over a year. I often think that if American Express offered bank accounts in the UK, I’d switch in a minute. Customer service is impeccable. I always get through to someone pretty much instantly and every adviser I’ve spoken to over the past year has been friendly, approachable and eager to help. Every matter is resolved with care and speed. I use the iPhone app to manage my account and it’s brilliant, including the ‘Chat’ feature - the first I’ve ever used that was actually user-friendly. We’ve also accumulated a lot of bonuses and air miles through various reward schemes with Amex and partner companies, unlocking incredible travel opportunities. I would definitely recommend them!

Appalling customer service
Appalling customer service. Had an automatic email telling me that my account would be suspended because I had made a payment from an account that was not a personal account in my name. I hadn't and it took me hours on chat and on the phone to sort it out. I made a complaint and eventually they paid me some compensation. A couple of months later and it has happened again. Not wasting my time again and have cancelled my account. At least they did that quickly.

Amex Platinum: NoGo
Amex Platinum erhalten, in den ersten 6 Wochen ganz normal genutzt (Umsatz ca. 600€). Dann wurde die Karte durch AMEX ohne Info gesperrt. Anruf beim Kundenservice (sehr unfreundlich) ergab, dass eine Überprüfung stattfinden soll und die Kontoauszüge der letzten 2 Monate eingeschickt werden sollen. Für mich nach mehrwöchiger Prüfung bei Beantragung ein absolutes NoGo und ein Vertrauensverlust. Karte sofort gekündigt.

Abstand!
Als ich die Karte erworben habe, hatte ich hohe Erwartungen und hoffte auf einen qualitativ hochwertigen Service. Leider wurde ich schnell eines Besseren belehrt. Das Karterlebnis war eine absolute Katastrophe. Der größte Mangel besteht darin, dass die Karte keine konsistente Nutzung ermöglicht. Mal wird sie freigegeben, dann plötzlich wieder limitiert. Dieses Hin und Her sorgt für Frustration und Unzuverlässigkeit. Ein solches Verhalten ist einfach nicht akzeptabel. Zusätzlich dazu bietet der Service keinen wirklich brauchbaren Mehrwert für die investierte Zeit und Mühe. Die Karte erfordert einen beträchtlichen Aufwand, jedoch fehlt es an angemessener Unterstützung und Lösungen. Es fehlt an Professionalität und einem Kundenservice, der den Bedürfnissen der Kunden gerecht wird. Für mich persönlich stellt diese Karte keine verlässliche Option dar. Ich hoffe, dass sich die Anbieter des Kartendienstes in Zukunft verbessern und ihre Schwachstellen beheben werden. Bis dahin kann ich leider keine positive Empfehlung aussprechen.

Very disappointed in American express
I signed up for American Express. Platinum was promised. 90,000 Sky Miles, when I spent so much money in the first period fulfilled all my obligations never receive my miles. American Express keeps barking and telling me my cards under review. Very frustrating and nobody seems to be able to help at American and Xpress got Delta on the line with us and they promise to get things resolved never did.

Bonjour, Client depuis 2014, je n'ai jamais eu de problème de connexion. Aujourd'hui cela fait plusieurs dizaines de jours que j'essaie de me connecter à mon compte en vain, via le site web d'AMEX. Un besoins indispensable pour éditer mes dépenses et me faire rembourser par mon entreprise. Pourtant les étapes de connexion ont bien été respectées, avec la double authentification et la réception du SMS. Je ne sais pas ce qu'il se passe mais si ça continue je serai contraint de devoir résilier mon compte et voir la concurrence

As an old member of Amex for almost 10years with never any complaints or issues, suddenly I find that everything about this crooked company has gone in dissarray. From the people they are employing (rude and stupid) to the service being offered. No one knows what is what , no one understands anyting and no one is really able (or rather wanting) to help you out. It is a big shame that such a high standing company could become so pityful. I do hope that the regulators actually take away their license and shut them down for good because they are nothing but a glorified scamming motherf*******

in dieser Bewertung möchte ich meine Erfahrung mit American Express (Amex) und deren Kundenservice teilen. Vor Kurzem hatte ich ein unglückliches Erlebnis, als ich meine Amex-Kreditkarte in einem Singapurer Hotel vergessen hatte. Als ich meinen Fehler bemerkte, habe ich sofort Amex kontaktiert, aber leider konnten sie meinen Namen, meine E-Mail-Adresse oder Telefonnummer nicht finden. Das hat mich extremst frustriert und besorgt über die Sicherheit meiner Karte gemacht. Trotz des fehlenden Engagements und der Unterstützung von Amex war ich entschlossen, meine Karte im irgendeiner Form zu sperren. Ich versuchte, die Kartennummer zu finden, indem ich die Hotelrechnungen untersuchte und sogar versuchte, die Ziffern aus der Tasche, in der ich meine Karten aufbewahre, zu lesen. Jedoch konnte ich nur die ersten sechs und die letzten fünf Ziffern finden. Frustriert und verzweifelt rief ich Amex erneut an und schließlich konnte eine Vertreterin namens Ricarda meinen Namen sofort finden. Insgesamt war das fehlende Engagement und die Unterstützung vom Amex-Kundenservice enttäuschend, aber ich bin dankbar für die letztendliche Lösung. Diese Erfahrung hat mir die Wichtigkeit gezeigt, meine Kreditkarten im Auge zu behalten und sicherzustellen, dass sie sicher sind. Am Ende bin ich froh, meine Karte zurückzubekommen, aber der Prozess hätte mit besserer Unterstützung des Kundenserviceteams reibungsloser ablaufen können.

In 2023 American Express Has 100 years Old Security Arrangement against Online Scammers And Threat
If there is Zero rating option I would have choose that for rating them. Worst Customer service Worst credit card security setup I have other credit card card as well And I can say, American express has very poor security arrangement against scammers and they will not protect and help their customer even if you notify them right away. They have poor customer service, they only know their part, American Express was my first credit card and I can not believe they have that much worst arrangement for their customer !!!!. In eight years of relationships with them I have reached out to them for one time only, In first call the customer service agent said they will help me, But I saw they have posted an un even comments and closed my dispute without even notify me!!! When I called them, they even did not say sorry for that and directly said they can not help me !!!! I have three other credit cards and I have received support from their help desk and never has experienced those kinds of approaches !!!! It's 2023, There are 1000 of online threats, as a credit card company they should have all shorts of arrangements to protect their customers !!! But they are far behind to deal with it.... Shame on you American Express... I am cancelling my credit card, Good By American Express.....

The customer service is getting worse
I was a happy Platinum card holder of AMEX, especially with their service. Since this Feb, they've been trying to expand customer pool with more offers. However, it does not outweight their degraded service quality. As an English-speaking customer, I find it very challenging to contact AMEX via phone since there is no agent to help anymore but the automatic system. Furthermore, I cannot use the 24/7 customer service as the line is usually unreachable and English-speaking agents are only available during business hours. The only solution for me is contacting via email. However, it means of communication is not applicable for urgent requests and has many flaws when accessing. From my recent experience, it's totally a disappointment.

AZIENDA CON ZERO CURA PER I CLIENTI, IMBARAZZANTE!!
Sono stato possessore di carta oro per un anno e ho effettuato molteplici migliaia di euro in transazioni nel 2022 (con anche spese in USD soggette a commissioni di cambio valuta) facendo guadagnare decenti somme di denaro all'american express. Tutti gli addebiti su c/c sono sempre andati a buon fine e non ho mai avuto ritardi o problemi nei pagamenti. Penso che il rapporto che ha l'azienda verso i clienti sia qualcosa di imbarazzante. Verifiche reddituali e controlli sono lentissimi e su tesi infondate. Mi sono state richieste due verifiche nel corso della mia esperienza a distanza di qualche mese, la prima per una spesa più alta del solito e la seconda per aver inviato dei soldi ad un amico tramite paypal. A seguito della seconda verifica, a detta loro per pagamenti SOSPETTI (inviare dei soldi su paypal), e dopo aver inviato estratti conti bancari (con sostanziosa liquidità), hanno deciso di bloccarmi definitivamente la carta. Senza fornirmi ulteriori informazioni se non "a seguito di un nostra verifica reddituale abbiamo deciso di revocarle la carta". Nemmeno l'operatore del servizio clienti ha saputo darmi una risposta sul perchè effettivamente mi hanno revocato la carta, dicendomi che purtroppo non sapeva darmi una motivazione più dettagliata e non sapeva a chi avrei potuto rivolgermi per avere una spiegazione. Un ottimo modo per mostrare riconoscenza verso un cliente pagante!! Mi è sembrato di avere avuto a che fare con le poste italiane, assolutamente non in linea con il prestigioso brand di Amex US. Penso che il CEO di Amex Italia dovrebbe farsi qualche domanda a seguito di tutte le RECENSIONI NEGATIVE che stanno arrivando in questi ultimi mesi da parte di clienti storici.

I have been told that I'm a valued customer however their treatment would not equal as such. I've built a relationship with this company and it really hurts when they treat me in dehumanzing ways. I'm left sad, betrayed, angry and powerless. The customer service agents seem to have some training in empathy and I'm wondering if their bosses have the told them "we'll beat the customers up and when they come crying you provide the empathy."

Traurig aber wahr.
Ich kann mich nur den negativen Bewertungen einschließen. Unser Geschäft besteht seit 2021 und wir haben zwischen 300k bis 600k EUR in Ausgaben monatlich. Am Anfang des Geschäfts war es natürlich nicht so, weshalb das Limit von 30k EUR sehr nützlich war. Nun wurde damals, vor einem Jahr, die Karte gesperrt und Nachweise wurden angefordert und eingereicht. Plötzlich 1500 EUR Limit anstatt 30k, bei einem (damaligen) monatlichen Umsatz von 70k EUR im Monat. Naja gut. 6 Monate später ist die Limitierung weg. Aber..nach 10k in Ausgaben wurde die Karte wieder gesperrt. Dokumente mit Umsätzen und Transaktionen in Millionen Höhe der letzten 3 Monaten wurde eingereicht, die Karte wurde eine Woche später freigeschaltet. Nun..es kann natürlich nicht so glücklich und gut enden! Die Karte wurde erneut gesperrt eine Woche später, diesmal sei die Begründung unklar. Die Mitarbeiter wussten das auch nicht. Vielleicht ein Problem mit dem System? Gut aber wie erklärt man, dass ein Monat später die Karte wieder gesperrt wurde? Diesmal sei es angeblich aufgrund unserer Zahlungen an Privatpersonen für Artikel, die man sonst bei B2B nicht findet. Wir haben dann damit aufgehört, nur um 1 Monat später (April 2023) zu erfahren, dass die Karte vorübergehen auf 12k limitiert wird. Anscheinend reicht eine positive Bonität, Millionen Euro in Transaktionen und eine lange Historie bei AMEX nicht, um sowas zu verhindern. Die Firma erfüllt bald schon alle Kriterien für eine Centurion und trotzdem wird so ein wichtigeres Thema bzw. Aspekt eines Geschäfts vernachlässigt. Man kann nicht davon ausgehen, dass die Lieferanten das Geld morgen bekommen können und plötzlich erfahren, dass es doch nicht klappen wird und man jetzt einige Tage warten muss bis das Geld vom Konto auf der Karte landet. Donnerstag überwiesen und das Geld war auf der Karte am Montag da. 4 Tage dauert es manchmal, bis das Geld in solchen Fällen gebucht wird. Ich kenne Leute, die 100k+ im Jahr verdienen und Unternehmen seit 10 Jahren betrieben und die haben die gleiche Behandlung erhalten haben. Echt traurig.

horrible customer service. I was told one thing by one agent and after I investigated and found that to be wrong I called back. Waited on hold for 15 min again and explained that I was previously lied to, I instead was told my card was being held for fraudulent activity. When I asked why I spent $500 on a card I can’t use anywhere I was hung up on! In all actuality their prepaid cards cannot be used on Amazon uber, ubereats, doordash, netflix, and the list goes on! when you do attempt to use it their they will put unnecessary “fraud” holds on your money. Never again! Go with visa or mastercard. Amex is a joke.

I spent 20 minutes this morning waiting for these catastrophically incompetent clowns to send me a safekey code so I could complete an online checkout. Despite having an excellent phone signal and hitting resend 5 times, it was a total fail, so I ended up having to use my debit card. Amex eventually sent my codes in a heap half an hour later.

I have diligently reached out to your support team through emails and phone calls, and on multiple occasions, I was advised to spend and pay off my balance accordingly, assuring me that my credit limit would be normalized as a result. Regrettably, despite following this guidance and settling all my dues promptly, the desired outcome has not been achieved.

All'inizio dell'apertura di una possibile carta con loro, ti promettono massima flessibilità, poi cominciano le limitazioni, i blocchi, le impossibilità addirittura nell'utilizzo tramite PayPal, per invio di pagamenti. Attratto dalla promozione Payback ho sottoscritto la relativa carta.Leggo il materiale informativo il contratto e via dicendo. Mi arriva la carta e vado a compilare il modulo per la richiesta della supplementare che per la carta payback è gratuita. Sorpresa i primi 4 numeri sono bloccati e non posso proseguire perché sono diversi da quelli della mia carta. Chiamo il servizio clienti nessuno sa darmi una risposta plausibile . Come mai nessuno ha segnalato un disservizio così grave su una cosa che è una peculiarità della carta payback . Ad oggi la situazione almeno è segnalata sul sito (solo dove si richiede la supplementare ) ma veramente deluso dalla mancanza di trasparenza.

Ho letto tante recensioni da una stella e tra fidi non accordati, ritardi nei pagamenti addirittura qualcuno chiedeva un piano di rientro mi rendo conto che le stesse sono dettate dalla rabbia.... Partendo dal principio che se utilizzi una carta di credito stai prendendo soldi che non hai, dovrebbe venirti più di un dubbio se un'azienda non ti permette ulteriori transazioni anche se minime...... La risposta è una sola: non sei solvibile e non lo sei perché hai ritardato qualche pagamento con loro, hai finito il fido, oppure hai una esposizione maggiore del tuo rating creditizio, non occorre un luminare per capire ciò...... Purtroppo o per fortuna in questo Amex è irremovibile, sono titolare dal 2003 e le vostre disavventure le ho passate tutte, purtroppo i numeri non hanno sentimenti....... Per il resto tutti i servizi sono al top, voucher, ingressi preferenziali, check-in fast, ingressi sulle salette vip di tutto il mondo, se conosci tutti i vantaggi ti stupisci della sua utilità...... Tutto il resto è dettato da piccole disavventure finanziarie dove si pensa che un azienda sia familiare se non materna o paterna.....

Better leave the card at home.
American Express is no longer what they used to be. I have ordered a new card 4 times and Amex is unable to deliver. I am overseas and need my new card and every time they give me a DHL tracking code which is invalid. The customer service reps are incapable of getting the card to me. Forget about the “never leave home without it”, I will make sure to leave the card at home, or better just cancel it.

Was with this company for 30 years ...then they cancelled my credit cards due to "payment returned unpaid by financial institution". Turns out that payment on my account was from another person and their bank LOL..Called them several times about these posts to my account. They said "that's weird". It kept occurring until they solved the problem..cancel the account!! "A senior rep from our company will call you in 48 hours to straighten this out". Never happened!! Hello Chase, Goodbye American Express...who needs ya after 30 years!

Historically excellent, recently quite hostile
Historically Amex have been exellent, but I've recently had a couple of overtly negative experiences. One was with a dispute with a merchant who failed to deliver a product, where I gave up trying to get a dispute processed as they appeared to keep delaying a decision. Over the last week I have had an absolute mare trying to get a positive balance refunded after they took a double payment from my current account and I subsequently received a merchant refund. Amex will immediately assume you're committing financial fraud, and will send a letter (by snail mail, or maybe carrier pigeon) asking for a scanned copy of a bank statement. Thankfully you can submit these online, but during the process my account got locked because they sent me multiple consecutive incorrect 2FA codes -- it's almost like they really don't want to issue that refund. I'm not sure why the company is becoming increasingly hostile to its customers, but I'm not sure I'd recommend them based on the last year of service.

I have been a customer of American Express for many years and I have been consistently disappointed with their service. The customer service is rude and unhelpful, the fees are high, and the rewards program is a joke. I recently had a problem with my credit card and I called customer service to try to get it resolved. I was on hold for over an hour and when I finally spoke to someone, they were very rude and unhelpful. They told me that there was nothing they could do and that I would have to pay the fee. I was very disappointed with the way I was treated and I will never use American Express again. In addition to the poor customer service, American Express also charges high fees. The annual fee for my card is $550 and there are also foreign transaction fees. These fees add up and they make American Express a very expensive card to use. Finally, the rewards program for American Express is a joke. You have to spend a lot of money in order to earn enough points for anything worthwhile. And even when you do earn enough points, the rewards are often not very good. I would not recommend American Express to anyone. There are much better credit cards out there with better customer service, lower fees, and a more rewarding rewards program. Here are some specific examples of my bad experiences with American Express: I was once on hold for over an hour trying to speak to customer service. I was told that there was nothing they could do about a problem with my credit card and that I would have to pay the fee. I was charged a foreign transaction fee when I used my card abroad. I had to spend a lot of money in order to earn enough points for a reward. The rewards I earned were not very good. I am very disappointed with American Express and I will never use their cards again.

Nichts zu meckern
Ich besitze die Amex Gold samt Zusatzkarte und bisher gibt es absolut nichts zu bemängeln. Ich hatte wegen diverser "Anfangsfragen" auch mehrmals den Telefonsupport in Anspruch genommen, nach spätestens 3x Freizeichen hatte ich jemanden am Apparat und die Gespräche waren immer ausführlich und freundlich...alles gut! In Bezug auf den Kreditrahmen muss nur folgendes berücksichtigt werden: Es gibt keinen tatsächlichen Verfügungsrahmen über bspw. X Euro...es gibt nur ein "Schattenlimit" (nicht einsehbar), was auf entsprechenden Werten anhand des Ausgabeverhaltens, Bonität,etc. greift. Wer eine neue Amex hat und 2 Wochen später einen MediaMarkt-Großeinkauf startet oder seinen Spanienurlaub damit bezahlen will....nicht machen. Amex möchte zuerst sehen, dass man seine Rechnungen bezahlt. D.h. im ersten Monat die Karte nicht für große Ausgaben benutzen (bspw. 3000€ Urlaub) sondern "regulär im Alltag" (Einkaufen, Tanken,...) Auch (entsprechend der AGB) ist die Amex nur für reguläre Dienstleistungen "as usual" zu nutzen. Wer auf die Idee kommt, sich selbst von der Amex Geld "zur persönlichen Verwendung" runter zu überweisen (bspw. über Paypal "an Freunde Senden" oder sonstiges)...der wird i.d.R. sofort abgekündigt. D.h. die Karte "wie gehabt und gewohnt" zum bezahlen von Dingen benutzen. Amex prüft ebenso turnusmäßig (so wie andere Kartenabieter auch) die Bonität bei der Schufa. D.h. wer eine Amex aufgrund passender Schufa-Bonität erhalten hat und sich später bspw. eine Autofinanzierung ans Bein bindet...je nach persönlichen und finanziellen Verhältnissen ist die Schufa-Bonität dann auf einem nicht mehr ausreichendem Level. D.h. Amex kann hier dann auch ihrerseits die Karte kündigen, egal ob die Abrechnungen immer bezahlt werden oder wurden. Bedeutet: Wer 2.000 Netto verdient, eine Amex besitzt und dann ein Auto für 25.000 Vollfinanziert...da kann der Algorithmus durchaus anspringen. Aber das sind mMn finanzielle Verhältnisse, die eben nicht mehr als "stabil" zu bezeichnen sind...da genügt der gesunde Menschenverstand. Einen Punkt Abzug gibt es für das Online-Konto. Im Gegensatz zur App ist dies etwas unübersichtlich. Man findet zwar alles was man braucht, aber das geht auch im Jahre 2023 durchaus übersichtlicher.

Fragwürdiges Scoring, plötzliche Limitierungen etc.
Ich bin seit ca. 2 Jahren glücklicher Business-Kunde bei American Express und bin immer zufrieden gewesen mit den Services, auch wenn die Karte mittlerweile in ganz vielen Ländern (u.a. UAE, Türkei) in Restaurants etc. nicht akzeptiert wird! Jetzt kommt aber der Super-GAU! Nun wurde uns urplötzlich das Limit an einem Freitag auf ca. 38k€ gesenkt und alle Zahlungen wurden gestoppt. Wir haben keinerlei Informationen im Vorfeld erhalten. Als Unternehmen ist das geschäftsschädigend und kann eine Firma in den Ruin führen. Glücklicherweise haben wir für solche Fälle noch andere Kreditkarten im Einsatz. Der AMEX-Algorithmus scheint hier nicht gut zu funktionieren. Angeblich werden mehr als 100 Scoring-Kriterien angesetzt. Da frage ich mich, wie man bei einer nachweislichen Top-Bonität (Crefo Score etc.) das Limit senkt. Ich würde mir wünschen, dass AMEX hier früher mit dem Kunden in die Kommunikation geht (proaktiv) und Hinweise liefert, wie man das Limit gänzlich aufhebt oder > 100.000 EUR setzt pro Monat. Wir haben jetzt unnötigen Aufwand in der Buchhaltung und müssen nun einige Workarounds definieren. Schade, dass die Karte so ins schlechte Licht gerückt wird!

There rewards/gift cards used to be bad. As of May there are just plastic waste that will take your money with it to the dumpster. Amex has decided that protecting your money means you shouldn't be allowed to use your money. Amazon, Steam, Uber, Paypal, and every square reader on the planet all are blocked on American Expresses end. They farm support offshore so all they can do is tell you "the transactions were rejected for the safety of your funds," heard the same language from 3 reps and 1 manager about 3 different cards. What's worse is most in person locations also fail now. Its like my money is sitting in a plastic prison taunting me.

Per chi vuol provare Amex suggerirei di chiedere la Platino che è unica in Italia per i vantaggi offerti, bastano infatti un paio di viaggi l'anno per apprezzare subito le assistenze incluse nella polizza in caso di imprevisti, cancellazioni, danni al noleggio auto, oltre ai vari sconti per ristoranti, viaggi, agevolazioni ai controlli in aeroporto, salette lounge in caso di soste etc. E’ vero il servizio clienti lascia a desiderare e non è più come un tempo ma raramente ne si ha necessità poiché tutto è gestibile da app e sito. Awful customer service. The app isn’t working either. They ask you to submit the proof of email purchase, correspondence etc. The app shows it has been apploaded. You call back and they say they haven’t received anything and your dispute is closed. No protection from fraud whatsoever. They are just trying to dismiss your case when it is obvious you were a victim i e you paid for online clothes shopping but actually have never received it. They refuse to deal with the situation and drag it on and on until you want to give up. I won’t give up this time as some people need to be taught a lesson. Avoid if you can!

If I could give a 0 star to Amex UK, I would. They are like robots. They lack any kind of understanding of how things are done. My card was approved for 500 pounds and suspended, and I was asked to provide information Amex had already sent during the application. This was a complete waste of my time and effort. I had to cancel the application altogether. Maybe they thought I needed the card desperately. I didn't, and I am glad I closed the account. Simple advice, don't waste your time with Amex UK.

Sono cliente Amex dal 2005. Purtroppo per me... L'ho sempre usata tantissimo. Faccio prevalentemente acquisti sul web o in negozi riconducibili a grandi marchi, per cui non ho mai avuto problemi di mancata accettazione. Usata per noleggio auto, sempre tutto perfetto. In più di un'occasione mi hanno difeso per acquisti con contestazione contro venditori scorretti. In caso di acquisti di importo alto mai un disguido. E il grande vantaggio di essere scollegati dal circuito bancario, quando mi è capitato di cambiare banca. Per me insostituibile compagna di vita!

J'ai récemment eu la malheureuse expérience de souscrire à une carte American Express, et je dois dire que cela a été une véritable déception. Au bout d'un an, lorsque j'ai décidé de mettre fin à mon contrat, j'ai contacté leur service client pour procéder à l'annulation. Malheureusement, cette simple procédure s'est transformée en un véritable cauchemar. Lors de mon appel téléphonique, un représentant d'American Express m'a assuré que mon contrat serait résilié immédiatement. Cependant, au lieu d'honorer leur engagement, ils ont simplement déclaré ma carte perdue, sans que je ne sois informé de cette manœuvre malhonnête. Cette tactique sournoise leur a permis de continuer à me prélever une cotisation exorbitante de 185 euros par an, et ce, pendant deux longues années, sans mon autorisation expresse. Désespéré de récupérer mon argent et de mettre fin définitivement à cette relation désastreuse, j'ai contacté à nouveau leur service client. Mais malheureusement, mon appel n'a fait que mettre en évidence leur manque flagrant de considération et d'honnêteté envers leurs clients. Malgré mes explications claires et précises, ils ont tout simplement refusé de reconnaître leurs torts et de me rembourser les sommes indûment prélevées. Il est extrêmement frustrant de constater à quel point il est difficile de mettre fin à un contrat avec American Express. Leur comportement malhonnête, visant à prolonger abusivement l'adhésion des clients, montre un manque total de respect et de transparence. Cette entreprise semble se soucier davantage de son profit que de la satisfaction de ses clients. En conclusion, je déconseille fortement American Express à toute personne cherchant une carte de crédit fiable et honnête. Leur pratique trompeuse et leur refus d'assumer leurs responsabilités en font une entreprise malhonnête et peu digne de confiance. Évitez à tout prix de vous engager avec eux, car vous risquez de vous retrouver pris au piège d'une relation contractuelle interminable et coûteuse.

Da die Amex im Ausland wieder nicht funktioniert hat, konnten wir unseren Mietwagen nicht abholen. Wochen später kommt eine Zahlungsaufforderung von Amex...seit 5 Monaten telefonieren und schreiben wir hin und her, reichen Dokumente als Beweis vor, dass wir diesen Wagen nie erhalten haben und bekommen zwischendurch mal das Geld zurück und nun wieder die Forderung, trotz der Nachweise. I spoke to an agent about applying for a card. He sold me on the air miles reward system. I received the card and used it straight away. Made a purchase with my new American Express card and then paid that amount immediately. I tried to make a second payment and it didn't go through. The card had been blocked. I contacted American Express and they said they required bank statements from me to get the card unblocked. I forwarded the documents via PDF on email. 10 days later, no response. I called customer service and spoke to a person called Monique and she said that they tried to contact me on the phone but couldn't get through to me??? She then said that the documents I forwarded were in the incorrect format???? PDF wrong format???? It seems as though this is a common issue with ex American Express card holders. Honestly, I believe they got scared that a person can make a purchase for several thousand pounds and pay it off straight away and receive air mile rewards without much money earned from their side so they just blocked my card and then Monique had the bare-faced cheek to lie about trying to contact me and saying they couldn't download the PDF format documents I sent. Firstly, I emailed them and they could've easily emailed me back if there were any issues. Secondly, we are in 2023 and to say that can't access PDF files......that's how all financial institutes send me documents. They perform this charade with so many people. Very peculiar organisation.

If I could give these greedy wastes of skinsuits no stars I would. This card is for old people and they have incompetent ignorant customer service representatives that don't care about helping people at all. My card is shredded end of story! Be hip to these so called credit score scams, understand that when you agree to get a card they check up on your credit quarterly and they will ding your credit every time, then lower your credit limit astronomically anytime, then pick and choose when you can use it and for what, had credit and they denied my ACH for other creditors for no reason. It's okay I have other cards to use. Read through the agreement with them and always cancel it otherwise they can access your funds for funds forever!🤫

Amex kündigt mir ohne Grund
Ich hatte jahrelang die grüne Amex Karte für 60€ im Jahr. Leider wird die Karte bei fast allen Autovermietungen nicht akzeptiert. Daraufhin habe ich diese gekündigt und mir die kleine kostenfreie Bluecard geholt. Heute wird mir diese, ohne Angabe von Gründen, einfach gekündigt. Kein Minus, keine Schulden, nichts. Versteht kein Mensch!

I don't know why companies keep insisting on using this card that had unbelievably and incredibly difficult service and outdated website. I just received my second card few days ago (I had an American Express card before from another company and it was as garbage then as it is now) and as per their instructions, I went to the website to create an account. After lots of struggle with the horrible website, finally the account was created. Then I went to check my details as I have forgotten the pin, the website immediately told me my account is blocked and I need to call customer service. Called the customer service and after like 20 min of security checks and confirming the same thing over and over, he sent a temporary password to my email. That password did not work! So I went to the website and I entered my user name and clicked forgot my password. Then the website crashed and gave me error saying we cannot process your request at this point try again later. I cannot believe the amount of hassle one go through to use this useless card that is not accepted in most places. I better use my own card even for business transactions and claim them from my company. that is better for my blood pressure. America Express is not even an acceptable card in the american embassy in my country to pay for the visa. Completely trash.

Her name is Rotora! I have never made travel arrangements before. Rotora secured my flights and hotel accommodations. After a lengthy call she was never frustrated with my lack of knowledge. Cliente Amex dal 2017 con una carta Oro, dopo qualche mese ho richiesto l'upgrade a Platino. Tutto in maniera liscia e scorrevole. Da oltre 5 anni mi godo i privilegi della Platino senza nemmeno un disguido. Concierge puntuale ed affidabile per le prenotazioni in Italia ed all'estero. Absolute Unverschämtheit!
…ich kann leider nichts Negatives über Amex berichten! Habe eine Amex seit 2020 und seit einem Monat führe ich diese als Platinum Karte. Meine Karte wurde bislang nicht gesperrt. Das mag auch daran liegen, dass ich keine hohen Umsätze zu Beginn generiert habe (zB Urkaubsbuchungen oder „Brokerumsätze“ ) sondern nur Alltagsausgaben, um zunächst meine Fähigkeit zum Ausgleich der Rechnung unter Beweis zu stellen. Tut mir leid, aber wer so naiv ist und quasi als zweite Transaktion einen Urlaub mit einer neuen Karte bezahlen will, braucht sich nicht über eine Sperre oder Kündigung zu wundern. Bezüglich Akzeptanz wird die Karte bei fast allen großen Supermärkten und Geschäften akzeptiert. In meinem Umfeld kann ich nur in der Metzgerei, dem Getränkemarkt und Bäckereien nicht damit bezahlen. In diesen Fällen kommt dann meine Barclays Visa bzw. Barclays Mastercard zum Einsatz (wie auch bei Fremdwährungen). Eine Amex als EINZIGE Kreditkarte ist nicht zu empfehlen sondern muss durch eine Visa oder Mastercard ergänzt werden. Habe schon öfters mit dem Kundenservice telefoniert und wurde stets freundlich und kompetent bedient.

When I purchase airline tickets through American Express my full name was not printed on the ticket so when I went to go through TSA oh, listen back to the counter because my name did not match. My ID. I spent two hours on the phone with American Express in the airport trying to get them to change my ticket. They couldn’t help me at all. I ended up having to purchase a new ticket. Which was a later flight. Now I’ve been trying to fight to get my money back from them. It’s been 2 1/2 weeks and still nothing. I have not even received an apology for all the stress I went through in the airport. Worst feeling in the world that you’re gonna be stranded somewhere Just got off the phone with them. They refused to give me any of my money back. Can’t believe this is how they treat a customer.

Ils vous vendent des solutions performantes, des garanties, des assurances, de la conciergerie... Sans le moindre incident de paiement et sans vous prévenir, ils vous bloquent vos cartes du jour au lendemain, vous suppriment vos encours : c'est incroyable mais nous sommes nombreux à avoir été victimes de ces pratiques douteuses !

Most lousy customer service in a most useless company that Amex has become
Similar to other reviews Amex has decided in the last few months to change their T&Cs and have become an utter useless financial services company. They decided to call my Platinum for a financial review and then cancelled my card and my account after 10years of being a customer! Always paid on time and never any default payments. They said that I reached the maximum limit on a Charge Card!!! How the F*** is that possible. I use it for business travels and my expenses can be in excess of £10k on a month by month basis but no warning whatsoever they decided to block my card and now cancelled my account F***ing useless customer service who dont know their a** from the elbow and dont even know their opening times and who is doing what. Used to be a great company but now in a slight hint of potential recession they spit and p**s on their most loyal customers!

Je réclame une facture de mes frais 2022 à Amex depuis 5 mois sans succès. Il est obligatoire de délivrer une facture pour les montants supérieurs à 25€. J’ai appelé dix fois Amex sans réussite donc je résilie mes 4 cartes le moins prochain et saisis les instances légales !

Karte (platinum) wurde seitens Amex nach 5 Jahren und über 600K Umsatz 3 Tage nach Einzug der Jahresgebühr gekündigt und gesperrt. Begründung laut unhöflichem und arrogantem Kundendienst: Überweisung an einen Broker, ist zwar nicht untersagt, aber nicht gern gesehen. Ah so ! Kündigungsfrist ist dann 2 Monate, Karte kann nicht mehr genutzt werden, aber die Gebühren für den Zeitraum erstattet man nicht zurück. Abzocke vom Allerfeinsten.

Short story - got approved, received card, brought a few things, card blocked, threatening letter received, rude customer service, account closed. What a waste of time. If you want to use it for air miles go get a virgin credit card.

I have been an American Express Gold rewards member now for over 4 years and my recent experience with the transaction dispute team has been absolutely horrendous. I was lied to and pressurised by a travel company into buying a return flight that was not needed. The travel company lied that I would miss a connecting flight and therefore I needed to a new ticket in order to not be stranded in my connecting destination for Easter. Not only did the travel company lie about me missing my flight but once the payment was made for the new flight, the company pretended like the booking did not exist and proceeded to just reconfirm my original booking. They charged me almost £5k for flight that they never booked and American Express’s dispute team have concluded in their favour! I have sent the dispute team several documents showing that I never received the service I paid including an email from the airline the travel company claimed they would book the flight with stating that flight was never booked or attempted to be booked. The email states in black and white that they have no trace or record of the booking ever being made, yet American Express disputes team still believe the company is entitled to the payment. American Express dispute team are rewarding this company for fraudulent behaviour/transactions at my expense. American Express is clearly not an ethical company! To condone fraudulent behaviour and practices from a company at the expense of the little guy is not ok. I will be cancelling my membership! It is not worth the money especially if they don’t provide the protection they claim they will! Or if their disputes team is too lazy and unbothered to properly investigate fraudulent dispute case! The dispute team have refused to speak with me and I truly believe that the have not looked at any of the supporting evidence I provided to support my case. It seem to me that they have already decided to rule in favour of the travel and no matter what evidence I provided, it will not be looked at! They are being bias to me!! Honestly, this has been one of the worst experience of my life and Ameican Express treatment of me has made it 10 times worse! Losing £5k for a product/service I did not receive and only purchased because of a lie told to me by the travel company is extremely painful! For Ameican Express to be rewarding fraudulent practices against their customers instead of trying to stop it is definitely not ok!!

Kontensperrung aus einer Laune heraus
Ich habe seit zwei Monaten eine Amex Platinum. Bisher hat auch alles geklappt, Karte hat direkt die alten KK ersetzt, alles umgestellt, alle Zahlungen (soweit möglich) laufen seitdem über Amex. Soweit so gut... Habe vor einigen Tagen eine Hotelbuchung über das Amex Reiseportal vorgenommen und heute aufgrund von ein paar Fragen die Hotline angerufen. Ich lande allerdings nicht beim Reiseservice, mir wird stattdessen gesagt dass meine Karte gesperrt sei und ich bitte zum Entsperren die Kontoauszüge (nicht Gehaltsnachweise!) der letzten drei Monate einreichen soll. Eine Begründung für die Sperrung wurde nicht genannt, nur dass ohne vollständige Kontoauszüge eine Entsperrung nicht möglich sei. Ohne Begründung sperren und dann noch tiefgreifende Einblicke verlangen reichen mir für eine Kündigung aus. Tschüss Amex, machet jot!

American Express worst customer service.
American Express Customer service team are terrible, they all tell you different things. No on actually knows whats right or wrong. Most of the people can not even speak English properly, you have to explain over and over again its so frustrating speaking - it sounds like they are based in Philippines or something. Customer service is terrible i would not even rate them 1 out of 5.

I have been a credit card holder with American Express since 1994. I always pay on time. On May 4, I got 3 emails from American Express. This was for my Platium card.My payment due date is the 17th of each month. They wanted immediate payment! They changed all sorts if terms as well!

Good rewards, tech, and service but foreign transaction fees must go
I've been with Amex for 10+ years. Their credit cards are still the most rewarding ones in the UK. However, unlike in the US, every single card they offer in the UK has foreign transaction fees, which means I have to use my other credit cards to avoid the fees when travelling abroad. Over the years, I've been asking Amex to reconsider this approach every time I complete their survey. But no change so far, hence the missing star.

Don't waste your time. They will kill your credit. I never missed a payment even though the economy was bad. I had to use my card excessively. However, as I said above I never missed a payment and I almost always paid the statement balance off before it was due. Because of them, I dropped from 700 to the mid 400's which worried my other creditors. Oh, and if you have a balance they expect immediate payment. If anyone else has experienced this send me an email. I plan on suing them at some point for causing financial hardship and mental duress. If I can find anything else to sue them for I certainly will.

Great Customer Service
Called 10 mins before they “closed” to apply for the Platinum Card. And the customer service was still willing to take me through the whole process which took about 40 mins. She was very clear on what I was about to sign up for and explained all the questions I had about the card even though it was told to me through an automated bot. Compared to other banks Amex call centers get me to an actual person to talk to.

Unverschämt Das ist zu 100% sicher Ich hatte jetzt 1 Monat Amex. Ende April stand ich da , Zahlung abgelehnt. Ich da angerufen, die sagten, das das beim ersten mal normal ist, da sie sehen wollen ob es auch ohne probleme abgebucht werden kann bei mir. Das war am 28.04. Heute ist es abgebucht worden, seit dem konnte ich die Karte auch nicht mehr nutzen. Heute kam zudem auch ein kündigungs Schreiben mit 2 Monaten Frist. Laut Telefon Tante ohne Begründung, dürfte sie nicht sagen . Das Scheiben ist am 30.04 erstellt worden. Bevor die versucht haben ab zu buchen. Ich denke die gehen pleite. Anders kann es bei den ganzen Bewertungen nicht sein. Unseriöse Unternehmen. Das ist so beschämend wenn man da steht und Zahlung wird abgelehnt. So ein...........verein hab ich noch nicht erlebt. Zu feige für den Grund zu nennen. Der letzte Drecks Verein und nicht zu empfehlen

Talade med en agent i kundservice. Fick reda på att de var skyldiga mej 200kr och han sa även att de saldo jag ser i appen kan visa annorlunda än de i kundservice ser. I andra ärenden så är Amex agerande professionellt riktigt dåligt. Jag är inte ekonom, men jag fattar inte om att "vi ska kreditera dej" är bra eller dåligt? Kredit låter som jag är i skuld... Och deras id-koll är liksom 2002. Ni vet PIN kod och när ens mamma är född. Noll säkerhet och de vill inte använda sig av Bank-ID - förmodligen att deras globala it-system inte tillåter det. Amex storhetstid var väl på 80-90 talet. Kortet fungerar verkligen inte som en annan kortutgivare (som klarar av Bank-ID) gör. Det är med glädje jag klippte mitt Amexkort och kan verkligen inte rekommendera någon att bli kund hos dem. Främst för att allt är så osäkert hela tiden.
